👍👍 One of the most beautiful places from Halifax! A little bit hard to walk without a car but the road till there it is nice and the air is really fresh. If you’re lucky you will see a lot of nice animals and when you’ll arrive in the top of the hill you’ll be amazed by the view. People often mention walk, Halifax, hill, nice, views, view, path, town,

nice walk to the top -various ways to get there -the best being start in shibden park walk up the track from the playground when you reach the pond walk left round the path you will see a small waterfall in some rocks behind this is a tunnel which leads under shibden hall road once through the tunnel just follow the path round a small pond eventually you will see a gate on the right -you now need to go left the path will take you all the way to the top when you reach a tall stone wall follow the path to the right this will lead you to the top -and some fantastic views of halifax including the piece hall , town hall and the home of the shaymen (halifax town ) .......There are a few dog owners who are throwing away dog poo bags all over shibden and beacon hill -they haven't got the brains their dog was born with

Nice place to enjoy the sunset. It is a very good warmup experience for small trekking. Very calm and full of trees on the way to the top of the hill. So many elders and kids come for a walk, jogging and cycling .

Really nice walk up to the beacon. We started on Long Lane then walked alongside the football pitch, up the footpath to the top, then made it into a circular route by walking past the beacon, down the path and back to Long Lane. It's a nice easy walk with a great view from the top. There is a signpost en route so you could make it into a longer walk by following one of those routes, including one to Shibden Park/ Cunnery Wood (about 15 minute walk). The paths are decent to walk along. I would recommend this short, easy walk.

You can reach the top from the car park above Shibden Hall and complete a 30-minute circular at the top with incredible views of the local area - and all of Halifax. It must be stunning on a blue sky sunny day. You can then complete a circular walk in Shibden Park with many routes. It’s a lovely stroll at any time of the year.

Nice spot to take in the views when out walking, lots of different paths leading off the hill, nice up there on a summers day with a cold one.

Very close to the Shibbden Hall upper car parking. One of the best views especially in summer as the sunsets. On a clear day, you can see far far away. You can relax in the benches or lean onto the Plaque where all the famous monuments far and near have their history engraved. All recently added thanks to Rotary Club. Is you have stamina, I would suggest you should walk the track all the way from downtown. If you have telescope, then must bring it. Keep in mind, there is no shop here and anyone coming should bring their own drinks and other refreshments. Don't forget to take water with you. P.S. There is need for a rubbish bin as many bottles and other trash were littering the beautiful spot.

The best time to visit Beacon hill Halifax is end week of May to first week of June. My suggestion is you can plan the walk on any sunny day when you see the pink topping on the hill from Halifax town. This time all the plants here bloom's and the green leaves on the trees makes a stunning view. The "Rhododendron roseum elegans" pink flowers makes a blanket over the top of hill . One of the trails to Halifax town got "Laburnum anagyroides" , the yellow flowers of it hanging throughout first part of trails. I can say it was a perfect day outing with my family and my kids too enjoyed it.

Good place to hike from Halifax town. Really calm for most of the days and provides birds eye view of the town.
