So let's get the positives out of the way. The restaurant is surrounded by stunning countryside and the food was pretty good but that's where anything good I have to say about my experience at 315 ends. Both my partner and myself are quite heavily tattooed and visited 315 to celebrate our anniversary. Upon entry we were greeted by an employee who seemed confused that we were there and genuinely surprised when we had a reservation. We were taken to a table in the back corner of the restaurant on the smallest table comfortably positioned between a pillar and the back wall surrounded by empty tables with little plates or warm butter being swarmed by flies coming in through the open windows. The waiter came to take our drinks order but hadn't actually provided a drinks menu and up to this point has still not even made eye contact with my partner and only addressed me and completely disregarded my partner's existence. We placed our food order after having to ask for the lunch menu, again this was asked on the booking which we'd specified, again still no eye contact made with my partner. Our food came out fairly quickly and tasted fine; nothing to shout about but fine. We weren't offered any condiments and at no point were we checked on throughout the meal to see if we needed anything. We considered sharing a dessert but quite frankly didn't want to spend any more time in there than we had to. On the way out I overheard a table of elderly women in the corner openly making outdated offensive comments about my partner's tattoos. In summation, if you're a conservative loving, monarchy worshipping antiquated gammon you'll fit right in however if this doesn't describe you I'd stay away at all costs.

What an amazing experience we had at the 315 Spa. We had a party of 9 that spent the afternoon at the spa. On entering we were greeted by the therapists and were given our robes. The changing room was clean and as it was just us there and no other, we were fine with that. Whilst our afternoon tea was getting ready we were shown the spa facilities and again it was clean and warm. This was exclusive to our party for the duration. The lunch spread was amazing and great detail was added to it all. Nothing was too much for these ladies from making drinks to serving food and then doing our treatments. We asked for some simple sandwiches and within minutes they were brought to us at no extra cost. The food was fresh and tasty. The treatments were done with extra care for each and every one of us, from facial to hot stone massages. The therapists sent the left over desserts with us too!! Overall it has been one amazing day!! THANK YOU SOO MUCH LADIES. 🥰🥰

Booked a room with en suite bathroom in January. Called the hotel at the time of booking to ensure the bathroom had a bath rather than a shower and this was confirmed. 18 hours before we were to arrive on June 17th the hotel called to tell me that they had sold my room to a bride and groom and moved us to a room with only a shower. An absolute disgrace. Clearly not a place to be trusted. Just read the reply from the owner. Simple questions to determine who's no telling the truth and who can be trusted. By his own words he sold me a room in January (yes online but sold with bath and verified). Why would the hotel be offering a room I'm January 2022 if it had been sold over a year earlier. Secondly why would the hotel wait until less than 24 hours before check in to phone me and tell me that they had conned me?

7 of us visited 315 ,. 7 male guests so with loads of potential for future visits with families. 315 is a very smart restaurant so straight away our expectations are quite high. Onto the food, starters and mains ordered and we are shown to our table. Starters arrive with a mixed response, firstly the portion size is miniscule , my black pudding scotch egg was quite dry and to be honest to my surprise very bland. Starters 4/10 onto our mains 1 swordfish customer quite happy 1 halibut customer quite happy 2 duck customers a little disappointed but not enough to complain 3 calves liver and no happy customers this was so overcooked and covered in a sickly sauce. Calves liver should not be covered in a sauce . It was very unpleasant. We brought it to the attention of the waitress ,. She did ask if we wanted anything else , we didn't and that was it. We were charged full amount we decided not to have desert or coffees and we aid the bill , without gratuity. Overall 4/10 and potentially many customers lost here.

Would have been a great stay but for the music and the fact that they lock the hotel at 10.30 pm!!! And the TV in your room is tiny. And people in the opposite room, their door slammed every time they went in and out, at 2/3 am!!!

We stayed for one night dinner bed and breakfast. We arrived early afternoon and we're met with a warm friendly atmosphere from all the staff. We were given our room keys and were taken through our stay . Our table booking and time. We're breakfast will be served and start and finishing time for serving. In all extremely friendly but very professional at all times. Our room was of an high standard and extremely clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was very spacious. We booked our evening meal for 7.30 and we we're both looking forward to the evening ahead. We were met at the bar by the same gentleman who booked us in earlier on that day and asked us to take a seat and he would be straight over. We we're served with a complimentary drink witch started the evening off well. We were then shown to our table. That is we're the magic really started the exquisite cuisine was outstanding from the service the presentation and the taste. Thankyou to all our main waiter for the evening again was the gentleman that met us on our arrival. We both felt we received very personal service even though they were plenty other staff serving and all very professional and efficient in there service. We had a great evening. We woke in the morning after a very comfortable night's sleep. We went down for breakfast and was shown to our table. And guess wot the same gentleman again who met us on arrival served us breakfast. We can not recommend this hotel and restaurant inuff. From us arriving to leaving we had fantastic service, and cuisine. On us leaving we asked about the gentleman who helped making our stay so comfortable. Thankyou Andrew for helping make our stay so enjoyable and the exquisite food. We will definitely be back and to all reading this , give 315 a try you will not be disappointed. Thankyou all once again. Kindest regards Chris and sabrena

Beautiful spot! Attended a wedding here. Service lacks in just about everything. Maybe understaffed on our visit?(benefit of the doubt?) Function manager surly if not bossy and blunt. Clearly no inspiration to younger members of the team (although we did get a smile from one of the young ladies serving our table because we were nice?) The function manager clearly needs to go on a course of how to "not be an autocrat" She would no doubt get more out of her team that way. I am not frightened by paying for GOOD QUALITY wine. I go to the bar and ask if they have any other wine apart from the Merlot we have been served and the nice chap reals off half a dozen or so different wines, I am impressed. "I'll have a bottle of Malbec" says I. Said chap disappears into the back room and returns to the bar with an open bottle of said Malbec. Wow. Magic! "That'll be £42.00 please sir" Can I suggest, not only opening bottles of wine in front of customers ( which my bar friend did not) but also publishing a wine list? Or at least warning customers of forthcoming open wallet surgery! It seems only fair? As it happens, it was a nice Malbec (just not 42 quids worth!) Top and bottom of it is that this is a venue..... folks get married here...... I just think they could put a bit more happiness into it A bit more effort into making folk feel more welcome A bit more effort into smiling.... This lot costs nowt! I could go on........ Repy from owner: "The bride and groom had a fantastic day, thank you Huge. Just because “you decided”to show off and order a bottle of one of our most expensive wines from the bar. If you was in the restaurant the service is different. Just like ordering from any bar" Clearly illiterate and miss-interperated...... "Huge" "Show off" and the best....."was"🤦‍♂️

Food was amazing, but the staff in front of house and waiting staff didn't seem to want to be there and couldn't wait for us to leave which made the whole large party leave as soon as we had finished our food when normally we would stay for a good while after. Shame as the building, location and again the food is stunning. Won't be visiting again tho.

My wife, daughter and mother went for afternoon tea yesterday and they were made to feel most unwelcome it was unbelievable. 1. They were clearly annoyed they booked in the morning for the afternoon. 2. The service was disgraceful... afternoon tea with baguettes and wraps....having to ask for the tea to be served twice.... 3. We understand there was a wedding on but they should be ashamed of themselves as thier attitude towards my wife and young daughter was downright disgraceful and the ONLY reason they never caused a scene was there was a wedding on.

UPDATE: Following on from their reply. No we 'was' not waiting for another person, we all arrived together on time as you well know. I can see from all the low reviews that instead of apologising you either say people are lying or you make a sarcastic comment. The waitress, chef and manager were all extremely unprofessional, rude and incapable of doing their jobs. We booked a table for 4, when we got there we had to wait 25 minutes for them to 'set the table' even though we had booked!! After 10 minutes of sitting at the table we had to ask for menus, the waitress brought over food menus but no drinks menu. We made our food order, the waitress didn't write it down and 2 of the main meals came out completely wrong, we asked for them to be changed to what we had ordered. Again the waitress didn't write the order down, I suggested she should so it would be correct this time but she didn't. One meal came out correct but the second again was completely wrong. We asked again for the correct meal, she disappeared the came back and said the chef won't make another order for us. Shockingly bad service as we weren't the ones making the mistake. We had planned on staying for dessert and coffees but obviously didn't as one of the group didn't get a main meal. They even tried to charge us for the meals that were wrong!!!!!! I spoke to the manager, the rudest man I have ever had the misfortune of meeting. From beginning to end the whole experience was TERRIBLE. Don't waste your money going here, there are far nicest places to eat in the area, more importantly with nicer staff.

We only visited the restaurant, a weekday & for the Sunday lunch menu. Both menus were great & a very good price. The food was delicious, full of flavour & plentiful. Enjoyed so much during the week, that I took my mum for Sunday lunch & wasn't disappointed. Booking is recommended for the Sunday & I imagine if more than 2, I wouldn't have got in. Can not fault the place, just fabulous.

Very understated from the outside but don’t be fooled as it’s lovely inside. Staying for one night was a pleasant experience. The rooms were lovely and clean. The bathroom had a shower I actually understood how to use! 😅 and you didn’t get wet turning it on. There is lift access to the rooms and there very quite even though positioned on a fairly busy road. The restaurant was delightful. A good menu with lots of options. Service was polite and the food amazing. Presentation was on point and the midweek pricing very keen. I would most certainly stay again in the future.

My wife and I had lunch with family and we all had a great time. The lunch menu had a good variety of choice and not overpriced. The service was excellent from very pleasant staff. Highly recommended.

Booked an overnight with my husband, arrived just before 3, had to wait a bit to get checked in. Had a drink at the bar before heading to our room, the room was lovely, although cold, had a shower which stayed warm for about 30 secs then went cold.Had booked to have dinner which left a lot to be desired. We both had scallops which consists of 2 scallops and 2 prawns with a few leaves at a cost of 13.75! We then both ordered sirloin steak which consists of 3 small thin pieces of beef, did not even come with a potato for a cost of £30 looked nothing like a sirloin. Staff not attentive. Overall wasn't impressed at all.

Uninspiring afternoon tea. From the outside ample car park. Inside was tastefully decorated and clean....and empty. We had booked for afternoon tea at 1.30 on a Saturday. We were greeted by a waitress who asked if we wanted a drink or sit at our table...being hungry we decided to sit. The tables were prepped accordingly in a type of conservatory with views over hillside and the town. We were offered drinks and then out came the afternoon tea. 2 of us are vegetarian... The sandwiches were small and filled with brie and Berry and prawn & salmon..(.not quite sure if they would be classed as veggie but as I eat fish we didn't complain.) Uninspiring filling to say the least. No cheese no egg no roasted veg no hummus....I could mention many a filling anc choice but we were served with 4 of each brie & prawn. The soup was tasty. Tea was in abundance. The cakes were lovely and the scones were fabulous. So really the only down side was the sarnies. I've had many an afternoon tea and this would not be my 1st choice again I'm afraid. 🙃

Went for Sunday lunch for my mums 96th birthday. The resteraunt was vibrant, and the service exellent, They have a great menu and catered for my sister, who is lactose intolerant, Food arrived and was very good. I would definitely recommend this place . Next time, we may stay and try the spa.

Had dinner tonight with my partner to celebrate my birthday. Food..um..what can I say. Starter for me fish croquettes, not very exciting. For my partner, chicken and duck terrine, again very bland. Mains..for me a very tough and tasteless Venison, for my partner a tasteless end of lamb. We have been here on numerous occasions and always enjoyed the food. What's happened we ask?

Had a 3 course Sunday lunch, all food very nice. However, the service was very poor. Run by very young members of staff who seemed to have no supervision and didn't really want to be there. One member of waiting staff told us she "felt like death" which was wholly inappropriate in my opinion.

Some of the rooms at the spa level have very high ceilings. Great for space. Not so great when you have to try to heat it with a fan heater and it's freezing outside.

As a local WI group we booked afternoon tea here and fully enjoyed our third annual visit. The food served was good quality with varied dessert items. Tea/coffee was plentiful with alcoholic drinks an optional extra. All the staff were excellent and provided great customer service and are truly a credit to the hotel. Looking forward to our next visit.

Wow! What an experience. We attended a wedding here & had a room booked for the night. The place is like a Tardis. From the road, it looks like a quaint country pub, & on entry, it is exactly that. But it extends out & down the hill at the rear. It is huge! The staff are amazing. Extremely professional & friendly. They have been trained very well. They're a credit to this facility. The rooms, & I include function suite, bedrooms & meeting rooms are all very high quality. It was like staying at a highly established, high-end, high street hotel. Another guest showed me 2 other rooms & all were of the same high-end quality. All in all, we enjoyed every moment of having a quiet drink behind the bar, check-in to our room & the wedding itself was fantastic. Helped by having our own private bar in the venue room, of course :)

Hi all, I stayed for one night for business, and all I can say is that it is one of the best small hotels I've stayed in for a long time... in fact it's so much better then my recent stays at the Hilton, the Hilton (not just one but a few) could learn from this hotel, all the staff were super nice, friendly and professional.. the hotel, bar and restaurant all super nice, I do travel a lot and I can honestly say that I is a great little hotel.

Afternoon tea, not worth the money, have had much better at other places for similar or even cheaper than at 315. Staff were very pleasant, and the dining room is quite nice, but the cheap plastic flowers on the tables let it down a lot. Going back to the food; you don't really get much for the price they charge. A half of a tiny bread roll with a circle of ham that you could almost see through, together with a small portion of a Coronation wrap and two finger sandwiches of brie and cranberry was not great as far as quantity or value for money goes. Nor were the little scones (no butter), the jam was very thin and runny and I didn't try the little pot of cream, so can't comment there. The sweets were pretty unimaginative, one sickly piece of chocolate fudge cake each, a miniscule macaroon and a 1 inch square piece of cheesecake with a slimy but chewy piece of jelly on top was not my idea of a great selection. The coffee was good, shame you can only have one cup, but I suppose you can buy more if you want it. All in all, not a great experience as far as the food goes, but as I said, the staff were great. Perhaps this restaurant is more suited to lunches or dinners, I don't know, but I wouldn't recommend their afternoon tea if what we had was "the norm". I just got the impression that this place is trying to be something much more than what it is, but not trying hard enough.

Beautiful food, lovely friendly service from all the staff, who go out of their way to accommodate, they even arranged a last minute surprise birthday dessert for my husband . Love coming here and would happily recommend it.

Lovely location not far from home, "chic" establishment and clientele. Premises well maintained and creates a nice atmosphere. Would have rated higher but food was just ok, ordered a drink then the young lady serving us came back as she forgot what I asked for, glasses arrived for water but no water came until asked, salt was supposed to follow with the soup but it never arrived, fish was substantial but served with about 7 chips, which would be fine if the size of the fish was commensurate with the portion of chips. The sticky toffee pudding was subtantial but served with literally a teaspoon of ice-cream, the sponge came in two pieces, almost as if the additional piece had been added as an afterthought The presentation was below par for the establishment, although cost was good for what we ordered. The gentleman who took our orders was very polite and friendly when taking our food order, unfortunately can't say the same for the young lady who was also serving. Had to ask for our coats on the way out as she had forgotten about them. No-one came to ask if the food was ok at any point. Left £68 lighter but can't say we got our monies worth because of the experience. Just because it's upscale doesn't mean being unfriendly, or is there a training need here? Not sure. We have dined at much more refined establishments than this and received a much warmer and professional welcome with outstanding food presentation. If they were trying to get us not to return, mission accomplished.

Ate here Nov 2022. Food was lovely (although pricy!) but customer service was lacking. A polite manner and a smile goes a long way. I was really disappointed. So sad when this leave such a negative feeling and it means I don’t want to return or want to recommend the venue. I’m not usually one to complain or leave a negative review but it’s really left a mark. Please consider how you talk to people.

  • 3/5 Toni G. 1 year ago on Google
The food was excellent, wine very nice, would have had another bottle if we had time. We booked 8.45 option, we were the only diners at that time which marred the experience, we felt we were rushed through, the break for me personally between each course minimal, not giving much time to talk and enjoy the evening as much as I would have liked. The waiting staff were polite and efficient the service itself was impeccable but the underlying need for the shift to be over spoilt my evening. I am sure if we were booked earlier the evening would have been perfect. Maybe the late booking times should be addressed and removed to allow your guests the best experience from the venue as the food is really something to be enjoyed.

Terrible customer service. Called on Sunday regarding purchasing a voucher and they told me to call back Monday-Saturday when the spa is open. Called back today (Monday) at 12pm and also 4pm. Left my name and number for them to call me back and heard absolutely nothing. Had my mum call them not long ago only for them to tell her the spa is only open 9-5 but on their Facebook messenger it says 10-5 so very misleading. No help on Facebook messenger and now they’ve ignored my latest message. Wouldn’t recommend based off of this interaction. Extremely disappointed

Stayed here for two nights and thought it was great. Very nice food, beer and accommodation at a reasonable price. Will be returning again when I am next required in Huddersfield.

Attended a function here on 5th November. There seemed to have been a major mix up on the food, with £42 price per person ending up being a couple of drinks and a hot sandwich and wedges (a carvery apparently). Extremely disappointing. Staff serving in were excellent and very polite despite a few complaints.

  • 5/5 Martin R. 1 year ago on Google
We visited the restaurant for a meal with some friends, not the hotel or spa. The food was absolutely fantastic and staff were very warm and welcoming. It's a bit on the expensive side, but as a treat for special occasions, this place scores very well.

Wow.. Amazing leg and foot massage for two of us at the same time. It was so relaxing that one of us fell asleep. The room is dimly lit with perfect music for the ambience, heated beds. I would highly recommend this. Thank you.

Had a fabulous meal, I had goats cheese parcel for starters followed by chicken caeser salad and chips and a chocolate cup for dessert and my goodness it was a whole teacup size and delicious too! Courteous waiting staff who were more than willing to help. I am definitely returning!
