Great little pub - lovely staff and varied selection of beers that changes regularly and reflects the local brewery scene. Very popular with dog owners so that's always fun and helps add to the friendly atmosphere. Has a very small but we'll kept beer garden and interesting decor.

I love this pub. If you love real ale. Its all kept perfectly.. with plenty choice. My children took me as a surprise for my 80th . I don't get out much these days, since I fell off my electric bike. (Sober) So the perfect gift for an old cellar (wo)man. It's welcoming and friendly. No frills, beautifully kept ales

Great little micro pub with fantastic real ales etc. Friendly service with the chance to sample before you buy. My first visit since the refurbish. Quality.

I believe this was the first real ale bar in brighouse correct me if I am wrong but it attracts a different clientele but that’s always a positive to have plus it’s next to the canal not far from the train station or bus station I think the location is key plus it’s bang on where the market is so the name is just the right thing to have . I think there having a refurb but definitely inside is comfy n welcoming I would highly recommend I believe dog friendly also some good Ales on top

Love the Market Tav! Such a quaint little pub with a strong community atmosphere, my family and I go here regularly, it is our go-to spot for a drink and a chat

Nice little place, none of your regular brand on pump but the staff are friendly and let you taste if youre not sure. The only bad thing was the place was a bit smelly when we entered, could probably use something to freshen the air up a bit.

Well renouned locally for it's range of real ales. Friendly atmosphere, dog friendly, small beer garden at the back Little small and crowded sometimes, but very popular.

I love this pub the landlord and lady are so welcoming and wonderful I love the fact it is dog friendly I have been a regular since it opened the beer is brilliant, it is a fantastic small pub. However they allow the use of e cigarettes and when there is a few the stuff gets my asthma going . This is a grey area 😲

This is a super little bar in a small, neat building on the open market. A number of really good beers on handpump and some proper cider. It has a small beer garden for good weather, and the local customers were very friendly.

The market tavern is a must for real ale drinkers .Not far from the train station could quite easily be visited on the real ale trail. Staff are very friendly landlord, landlady are always welcoming that's why it has a good regular clientele. It has a lovely part covered beer garden and is dog friendly. What more can i say a bit of paradise in the centre of brighouse.

Great range of real ales from the more obscure micro brewerys plus an owner who cares is a winning formula.

Brilliant!! I discovered this local hostelry on Thursday evening whilst staying away on business in West Yorkshire. This is a proper local pub, packed with friendly, sociable customers, all enjoying an extensive, delicious range of local real ales, served by a very hospitable landlady and landlord. With a tray of white bread baps smothered in potted meat on the bar (local tradition I believe) for customers to help themselves to, what more can one ask for in a proper pub? I was felt most welcomed by the staff and local customers. Highly recommend you visit this pub for a pint or two?

Great little place at the side of the outdoor market. Always have a great range of ales on and often a few tasty sandwiches on the bar. Staff are lovely and the regulars are nice. It's small and popular, and well worth a visit if you're in town.
