Not the best experience at Redcliffe hospital emergency department. Presented to ED in excruciating pain, originally only one staff member checking patients in and so it was a slow process. Once you have seen the first staff you then line up in another line to present your Medicare card, answer more questions and sign a form. Waited in the waiting room for approx 3 hrs before a grumpy nurse administered some pain relief. Back waiting in the waiting room, finally called into the ED area to be seen by a doctor about an hour plus later. The doctor was lovely and checked me out and told me I'd need to go for a ct scan. I eventually got the ct scan after a few hours & then 8.5 hrs after stepping foot in the hospital I could leave. The nurses that had contact with me appeared abrupt and unfriendly. I was freezing cold, asked for a blanket numerous times and was not provided with one until I asked the doctor. Had not eaten the entire day, was not once offered a drink of water or anything to eat. The nurse that came to do my obs did not ask first before pushing a thermometer so hard in my ear, I told her my pain was 7/10 and she just ignored that and walked away. Pretty disappointing and disguisting behaviour from health care providers who are supposed to care. The nurse who did the ct scan was however lovely and Professional so that was one good thing. Will avoid this hospital at all costs.

I had an extremely unpleasant experience tonight. I was taken by family to hospital in extreme pain. I've had this pain that swells up twice a day, every day for 12 days. I waited 4 hours to get seen and by that time, the swelling had lessened. The doctor who saw me was extremely rude, aggressive and condescending. I was told his name is Michael Manning and we are lodging an official complaint regarding his bullying tactics and threats. He accused me of getting priority because of the symptoms I told the reception which were true at the time. He told me there was no infection just by looking. He even pushed the curtain shut in my mother's face and told her to get out when a nurse told her to come in. I told him I could leave if he thinks it isn't bad and he said I must stay and wait for two junior doctors to check me out further and get blood tests in a vile tone ending in a venemous "Mate!" We requested a form to report Michael Manning and left anyway. I am a strong advocate against bullying and violence. And this is totally inappropriate behaviour for a professional. Michael should be disciplined and Queensland health should be appaled they are dragging behind the world like this!

Don’t go this hospital, staff are rude from nurses to domestic workers. No bedside manners which you would expect from a hospital.

The Triaging System of children in Redcliffe Hospital is below standard. I came with a 5 year old who had abdo pain, projectile vomiting and SOB with tracheal tug as well as use of accessory muscles. His temperature was high. His Pulse was high. His breathing was high. He was given some syrup. It never got escalated to the Dr’s despite me notifying the triage nurse on different occasions that my child’s breathing is getting worse while at rest. She looks at me, tells me I’ll check him again but no Dr intervention. Been waiting 4 hours now with no Dr to see my child and his breathing is not getting any better. Pls do better to avoid a child dying in the hospital waiting area because of poor escalating system.

I broke my ankle, I was referred here for my surgery, they didn’t get back to me for three weeks, to book me in for surgery three weeks later. They were expecting me to have a broken ankle for six weeks before they would do anything for me. I also got DVT which is life threatening and they had 0 care. I ended up going to A different hospital for emergency surgery. Then when I had the cast of six weeks later, I needed to get rehab. Because I hadn’t been walking for three months. It took them two weeks to make an appointment for me, which was in two weeks. So another 4 weeks before I was able to start learning how to walk again. Just to get a text this morning rescheduling my appointment for two more weeks. That’s 5 months. I’ve always ended up having to book somewhere else. This hospital is honestly ridiculous, I will never refer here, it’s the worst hospital I’ve ever experienced. Honestly what’s the point

I've been to this hospital three times, three times too many. I went to the hospital with my mother who was taken from the waiting room momentarily to assess the ergency of her visit and would be right back. 8 hours later a nurse informed me she'd been admitted. I'd spent the last 8 hours not knowing where my mother had gone or what might be wrong. I went to the hospital after what I later learnt had been a heart attack. Within the one day I was admitted, a CT scan done and then told by a doctor I had Heart Failure and that I should go home and drink plenty of water. The hospital didn't recognise I'd had a heart attack, wrongly advised me to drink plenty and never followed up. Several months later the Heart Failure had progressed to the point were an ambulance took me to TPCH with an EF of 17%. I was admitted for two weeks, the heart attack identified and my fluid intake restricted and I've been an outpatient ever since. I went to the hospital with my daughter one morning after she woke in pain. After a wait she was taken to see someone, my wife and I weren't allowed to go with her. Just after midnight after pacing an empty waiting room for many agonising hours a nurse ask why we were there. We were then allowed to see our daughter and find out what was wrong.

If I thought going to QLD Health to report them would do any good I would. This has to be the worst hospital around. The nurses don’t have 1 ounce of empathy or compassion, they sent my mother to the nursing home (Saturday) even though she had trouble breathing only to return to the ED Sunday the very next night. They sent her back to the home Tuesday and Thursday morning she passed away in the nursing home from Hospital caught pneumonia. The entire time she was in the hospital I asked for doctors to ring me and tell me what was happening. I had Power of attorney and was also Next of Kin. Never once did I get any calls even after her telling them to ring me with what was wrong and I had to take time off work to try and Catch a DR. I spoke to about 6 different DRs when she was in hospital and not 1 of them said she was seriously ill, even to the point they made it sound like it was all in her head and nothing seriously wrong. The whole time she was there she wanted to go to the RBWH because Redcliffe had the worst Nurses. I have always heard it is a bad hospital and this just proves it. It should be shut down.

Terrible experience Ongoing from ED to Fracture Clinic, Ward through Surgery, back to Fracture Clinic to OT... Ive never been so upset & disregarded as a person, let alone a patient. Physically & Verbally assaulted, formal complaint made, with no contact returned. Staff are constantly stating what time they knock off, they are at extreme limits to be treating people in this way. Enough is enough! I am physically n emotionally exhausted enduring unnecessary pain due to lack of care! The only credit I can give is to the admin. staff, 1 male plasterer & the 1 female Nurse whom I awoke from surgery to, whom stayed with me through the shock agony n vomiting... This 1 Nurse has more humility than the entire hospital!

I used to think highly of this hospital. Until my 12wk post op appointment was cancelled without explanation. Three weeks later after many calls, they finally admitted that my surgeon no longer works at that hospital and the attitude was essentially “tough luck”. Because this was not seen too in a timely manner, I’ve now experienced some complications which may need another surgery. This could have been avoided if their communication was there.

Went into Redcliffe emergency on 13th needing a full left hip replacement, was admitted that day and had my hip replacement surgery on the 19th. Came home on Friday and doing just fine. Excellent hospital.

Horrible staff the dr was ageist my mother broken her wrist and when we can back from X-ray my mother asked if the bone was still in place and would she need surgery the jerk said “ if she was 18 they would do the surgery but because of her age their was no point of having surgery.” This is the worst hospital my mother and I had the misfortune of having to visit. I really dread having to take her to this place for a follow up appointment.

Spent 7 hours waiting in the ED waiting room with a referral from my GP, then finally got called through and was made to sit in another room by myself for another 2 hours before being seen by anyone. Appalling wait times for an emergency department. The triage staff were trying to be as helpful as possible though while waiting.

0 Stars!!! ambulance took over 1 hour to arrive. Was wheeled off to a waiting room and left as soon as I arrived. Was given no pain medication besides panadol after breaking my leg in 2 places. Waited for over 6 hours just for a doctor to come see me after having a half cast put on, just to be told they would be another 3 hours or more. Discharged myself before they could do anything. else just to get out of there. DONT GET HURT NEAR REDCLIFFE!

My Grand niece passed away in the care of Redcliffe maternity delivery ward. My niece was 10 days overdue no complications throughout her whole preganancy strong healthy, yet she came in to get induced everyrhing was all ok after checks my niece went for a c-section and baby had passed away due to poohing is what ive been told. My niece was layed to rest on Wednesday and the nurse or maternity ward need to be held accountable as baby should have come out earlier, baby was fully grown and they missed it and caused my grand niece to not live a day , God doesnt intend for these things to happen as it could of been prevented, but midwife nurse shouldve delivered baby sooner. Now my grand niece is in heaven and it was the hardest thing to do. Im laying a formal investigation into the midwife and medical team on this day as this should never happen to anyone. Im doing this as its not the first baby which ive been told. Need to put a end to this as its the precious lives of oir kids they are playing with.

Went to get an ultra sound this morning at 8.50am. The young girl asked me a questioned about if I had a certain scan and I told her I wasn't too sure of that name of scan she said and she stared straight face at me for a good 3 seconds without blinking before saying "the down syndrome scan?!" . I politely said oh yes, sorry I had so many scans. (Fyi 2 emergency scans to a little scare) Over an hour went by of her measuring and taking pictures of baby, nearly an hour and a half which i didnt mind as my baby was wiggling around and moving lots. It was an awkward, unwelcoming and uncomfortable experience. I felt like i was an inconvenience to her. I felt she lost her patience and started digging harder above into my hip bones, side of my belly and under my breast SUPER HARD to the point I saw her put her weight digging into me,I closed my eyes as the pain was unbearable multiple times after I felt like she lost her patience trying to get a certain picture of the brain and heart. My anxiety didn't speak up and I am now guttered I didn't take note of her name nor speak up as I was intimated. Im not feeling great either this arvo unfortunately and really hope she hasn't caused any complications for myself of my baby. 😓

My mum was taken to hospital before Christmas, she had fallen down some stairs at home. She was in for around two weeks moved three time. Should never have been sent home in her condition, they just needed to empty the beds before Xmas. Things we asked for didn’t get done and now she is in Royal Brisbane receiving the care she should have got at Redcliffe shame on you, would never suggest anyone going to this hospital 👎

Do not bring your children here. I caught a man watching me sleep and I yelled at him to leave. I called the nurse and hospital coordinator to change rooms and I was told "how dare you, he's a patient just like you" I responded, "so if I was to stand over someone and watch them sleep, you won't do anything?" They responded with a surprising, "this is a hospital. we can't control what people do" absolutely insane hoops they are jumping through to avoid admitting they put me in an uncomfortable situation and only changed rooms after the police were called etc. They moved me 2 doors away from the creep by the way... I would have left if I didn't have a collapsed lung. All I wanted was an acknowledgement of the inappropriate situation and for the nurse who accused me of having the audacity to want to change rooms admit she was in the wrong. They hid her away and refuse to provide her name for complaint purposes.

EXPECTING MUMS STAY AWAY THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM FAILS US HERE. My experience has not only been dangerous, difficult and disappointing it WAS AVOIDABLE. During my 2nd trimester I have repeatedly brought up continuous issues, illness, including mental and physical health. This hospital is under resourced, understaffed and the patient care is inadequate. I AM SICK, I AM IN PAIN, I HAVE BEGGED FOR FURTHER ASSISTANCE. My own GP has sent me to the hospital AGAIN after seeing my results the same day I was at a hospital after being “discharged” from this hospital. I have had horrible experiences leading to childbirth and I no longer want to have my child here. If I didn’t have to have a caesarean I would have put more faith into giving birth at home. There’s no support, guidance or assistance. I’m a first time mum, I’ve had to pay for extra appointments with my GP and seek alternative care. My usual doctor is mortified with this hospital and has had to leave multiple complaints. This has taken a huge toll on my pregnancy and mental wellbeing. I’ve cried for help during every single appointment. I’ve been ignored when I’ve asked for further assistance or brought up complications and concerns. I have been shutdown or sent home and had to get care elsewhere on multiple occasions. I’ve missed crucial scans, tests, medication, needles and appointments. I’m often refused help and given no guidance. I’ve been brushed off my entire pregnancy. This has led to multiple complications that could have been prevented and avoided if accurate care was taken. I had to go to a completely different hospital and seek other medical care. After being rushed to emergency WHILST BLEEEDING, I was ignored yet again and was sent home. They refused to assist me when I was malnourished, had low iron and was unable to keep food down. When I’ve had a scan or antenatal appointment or examination I’m often left with no answers. If I’m crying in pain or asking for a doctor or specialist I’m often told that sorry we are super understaffed I don’t know if they’ll help you, I’ve had administrative staff beg doctors to see me as they are super concerned. Admin have told me that I need to be seen ASAP go elsewhere as “you won’t get good care here” The as a X-RAY or ADMIN aren’t medically trained and it’s not their role or responsibility to try to find answers. They are not allowed to legally tell me things, yet they are trying to find information for me. After waiting 8 hours for a doctor or nurse, I had an admin assistance apologizing and said to try a GP or another hospital “as the doctors wanted to go home early on a Friday” I got a phonecall A WEEK LATER on a private number from a midwife to then tell me my results and health had PLUMMETED and to seek care ASAP. The first thing they said was “oh your baby will be coming out the sunroof, you are a high risk pregnancy, you should come back your results are dangerous” Great medical terminology and letting me know I should not have been discharged During every appointment I’ve explained that I’m in lots of pain and I’m struggling mentally and they tell me to call the hospital or ambulance and you sit in a waiting room for 15+ hours and don’t receive care, mental health tools, someone to talk to or any advice on where to get the help you need long term. Which is extremely disappointing. I’ve had to sit in hallways when having medical care. There’s often not a lot of privacy for “intimate” scans and tests. I have missing scans, blood results and samples, data. Once again I have to do all these tests elsewhere as they lose the results. I’ve had GPs be able to assist me in emergency situations and care more than here. I’m now categorized as a high risk group of pregnancy. Many of my illnesses, complications, sickness would have been prevented if accurate care was taken. I’ve asked for help and assistance. I’ve asked them if there is anywhere else I can go or is there a third party I can have all these tests and scans done. Who else can I call? There is no care here

I've always had very positive experiences with the Redciffe Hospital. The clinical staff are amazing. I would suggest that further training is provided to the customer service /admin officers in the Specialist Outpatient reception whom lack people skills. Individuals attending appointments do not need to be treated in a passive aggressive and condescending manner.

I would like to thank the Redcliffe Emergency Department for their care and attention yesterday with my father. From reception, to nurse, to Dr and social worker we could not have been cared for better. Hats off to the amazing reception staff that put up with behaviors that I found absolutely appalling, some people need to take note of their actions.

My GP referred me here to have some endometriosis removed, after it was seen on an ultrasound. It took them 2 years and 4 months to tell me they couldn't help me, during that time I lost the function of one kidney and the nerves for my bladder. I will never come here again.

Was made to sit in the waiting room while having a misscarriage and pass all that.. All I needed was an ultrasound to see if there was a heart beat still and go home if there wasn't and at least be kinda comfortable while passing all that. Instead I had to sit in there freezing for 7hours going to the toilet every 20-30mins. To finally see a doctor just to be told there ultrasound team had gone home for the day while I was waiting

The Colonoscopy / Endoscopy unit was a somewhat great experience. The health unit, out-performed my expectations and made an uncomfortable experience -- a somewhat pleasant one -- I suppose. Well considering the circumstances.

Daughter was in for a difficult and traumatic birth. She couldn't fault the staff and her midwife in the birthing suite and was incredibly grateful and thankful for them, she was kept in overnight in the general ward which was an effing nightmare. Rest they said. Try and sleep they said. It's very hard to do that when the staff scream at each other in the corridors and in the room. They crash around like they're drunk and are surprised when patients are upset when they constantly wake the baby or shout at another patient in the room because they think the patient is hard of hearing, or they have hearing problems themselves. No one else needs to know the personal, intimate details of other patients in the room, there's no need to SHOUT. Ffs, it's a hospital, it's supposed to be calm not a noisy bingo hall. Appreciate they have a challenging and at time difficult job to do, but there is no decorum at all.

Well finally got the call from Redcliffe Hostipal re my hip replacement, was told 9 months, been over 2 years. Okay with that, thought my patience had paid off. Only to find that they were trying to pawn me of to another waiting list at a hospital hours away from were I live. Asked would I have same surgeon nurse said no. Told her I would wait till Redcliffe would be able to do the operation. Then was told she no idea when it would be done and blamed the Covid virus. That excuse is getting a bit lame now as Qld Hostipals have barely been affected by it. I have paid my taxes for forty years and I am untitled to free health care done in a reasonable time, and very disappointed with my treatment at this stage.

Parking prices are phenomenal! Usually we go to gold coast hospital and I thought it was bad, until I got here. It's highway robbery praying on vulnerable people with no other option. Also the lack of food and service of the staff in the food court, was appalling. It's a children's hospital, a smile and polite service wouldn't go a stray. Being our first visit, I'm hoping it will be our last. I'm shocked.

When I was first taken through in emergency they were great and quick. But I have an anxiety about blood tests and was butchered but one doctor, literally 3 attempts and she couldn't even do it had to get a nurse to do it. I was so anxious and it's made me freak out when ever they've had to do anything to me now. I have Pneumonia and am being made to wait anywhere from half an hour to an hour to be taken to the toilet. I've had to wait over an hour for pain relief and over 2 hours for a doctor to prescribe something to help me sleep, I haven't slept in over 26 hours. I was also moved to a different ward at 10pm as well! This stay has really made me emotional and anxious and I feel like no one is hearing me. It's really upsetting...

I do not recommend this hospital at all. I have gone through a terrible ordeal where I’ve been given the incorrect medication and no information in regards to my medical status. When I invoked Ryan’s Rule and contacted the ombudsman I was then neglected by not being provided with meals at times, nurses stopped monitoring my stats and had the curtain drawn around my bed so that I was ‘out of sight, out of mind’.

Poor service in Emergency, Under staffed, misdiagnosed on two separate occasions. I would suggest you go to Chermside or Caboolture Hospital instead. Maybe an audit into the quality of service is required. Also I would suggest changing the Manager as he or she clearly out of his or her depth.

During the COVID pandemic it is great to see all visitors to the Children’s Hospital having their temperatures checked upon entering. What is totally appalling is seeing that staff do not have to undergo the same basic test. When we questioned the staff on why the car in front were allowed through without being checked, they said it was a staff member who is here every day. Yes that’s right. The staff member who lives their life outside of hospital and then comes into contact with sick children every day is not required to have a temperature check. But family members who are also here every day to visit their sick children or take them to the hospital school (every day) so require testing. This is unprofessional. A temp check with an infrared gun takes 5 seconds. We will be making an official complaint to authorities.

Wouldn't ever recommend going here, you'll have better luck at royal brisbane. Not once did they listen to my worries for my daughter, couldn't figure out what was wrong with her and instead tried to blame me, which is unprofessional. Get doctors and physicians that know what they are doing and have a heart, don't give off the book diagnosis and actually thoroughly look at what they're treating, instead of those who only care for a paycheck. Actually do your job and listen to the parent as well as observing the child. The only positive I have about this place is the social workers who do listen to parents.

After being on a long waiting list my son finally got a surgery date to have his tonsils removed. We were not given a pre admission appointment to discuss the procedure, risks or anything else apart from a five minute phone conversation the day before to tell us our arrival time. Surgeon came out prior to his operation to see him, asked a couple of questions and then checked his throat with their iphone torch and said "his tonsils are big but I've seen bigger". Then decided that he no longer needed the procedure done and they didn't recommend it while continuing to tell us how high the risks were in front of our son who was already extremely anxious about the surgery. After being referred for this surgery by numerous doctors and having issues with his tonsils throughout his childhood we are extremely angry about how this situation was handled. The operation didn't go ahead. We will not be going through the children's hospital.

Can’t fault the hospital or it’s surgeons and nurses at all - absolutely brilliant ! The issue I have is that the food court is advertised to be open until 8pm. I left my daughter in recovery to run and grab food at 6:30pm and it was closed. Unless you want vending machine food you need to leave the hospital for anything half decent which isn’t ideal when your child has just had a major surgery and they’re distressed.

Not impressed with the old cow on reception at the physiotherapy / blue room area today. After one of the staff made my daughter cry by pulling faces, I picked her up and proceeded to ask if the man waiting in front of me had been served as he was standing far back from the counter. He said he was so I went ahead to be greeted with what I can only describe as an unnecessary “is the man behind you FIRST?” To which I replied “he said he was being served” to which she gave me a long 10 second death stare and proceeded to ask check in questions with a undertone of disgust. Hospitals aren’t the nicest places to visit and to add this to the experience only makes it worse. Please put more pleasant people on the counters at reception, I beg you.

Everything was ok right up until we were meant to leave. Going through the birth was good but once we were moved to the ward I think they dropped the ball. They were pretty useless on explaining where thing are and where and what to do with our first kid. Also having mum discharged and not the baby and be told that it's not there fault. Now bubs is hungry and my partner is missing out on the medication she needs for her blood pressure. YOU WORK IN THE SAME BUILDING AND YOU WERE WORKING WITH MY PARTNER AND KID THEY ARE ONE IN THE SAME. I hope this makes sense cause I'm in a bad head space right now

I was waiting on an elective surgery for over a year, needed to re-do many scans and consults with GP's, was in pain for a very long time and had a sore lack of communication from the hospital throughout this time. I called the hospital to follow up a few days ago and was booked in for a consultation with the specialist in house. When I arrived I had a waiting time of 0 minutes, and was lucky enough to have my surgery completed the same afternoon. I dealt with over 20 different staff members at Redcliffe hospital yesterday and every single one of them was amazing. The care and support offered, the comfort provided, was second to none. A huge thanks to the team at Redcliffe for looking after a very nervous and alone 22 year old. I had a great experience yesterday and couldn't be happier.

Our son went to Redcliffe Ed by ambulance yesterday after an injury to his leg. After waiting 4.5 hours to be seen he was sent home with painkillers.. no X-ray no brace no anything. Today he’s diagnosed with a knee tear and is in a leg brace thanks to a local GP. Nurses were great, Doctor was very disappointing. I knew more than her. Queensland Health your a disgrace !!!

I appreciate the stress and pressure all hospitals and aged care facility have been under the last 2 year's, but I do not appreciate after 8 hours in emergency I finally see dr Michael for roughly 3 Minutes, to be basically left feeling as though I had to justify my pain and symptom if been experiencing for nearly two weeks, that I was wrong!! I left due to mapractise and lack of duty of care. Definitely not a hospital to go to with anything that requires understanding and attention

I have had to take my Mum to A&E twice in a week and I have to say the staff are amazing. They are obviously working under such pressure and short staffed like most places but they are so helpful and pleasant. The lovely Scottish nurse (sorry I forgot your name)who was on a 12 hour shift kept a smile throughout and even apologised for the wait. People get grumpy with the service they receive but forget the pressure the staff are under.

Thye problem with Redcliffe Hospital is it all depends on who your medical team will be as to how you will be treated. I have been there multiple times for Chronic Illness and on some visits the Nurses and Doctors seeing me were fantastic. On other occasions the Nurses are uncaring, rude, sarcastic and nasty.

I've been to Redcliffe Hospital many times and apart from once never had a bad experience. Between Medical Imaging, Oncology, Pathology, Urology, OT and when I've been admitted to the wards, the Nurses, ,most doctors and ancillary staff, I have always found them to be pleasant, knowledgeable, and professional in everything they do. People are going to be unhappy at times, depending on their circumstanes and tolerance, but until you see them in action, understand how things work, and acknowledge great patient care there will always be negative reviews. On my part, I say keep up the great work, it's keeping me alive.

Im sure they are struggling with no staff, the emergency department has "extremely busy" selected on a 24hr basis. This is not good enough, but its not their fault either. My call was transferred to a ward that was so short staffed, they couldnt answer the phone...

Neglectful, lack of ownership, complete lack of accountability. My wife is pregnant, and the hospital has used "The Wuhan Flu" Aka "COVID" as an excuse for not meeting with us in person. Our first visit with an actual doctor was in the midst of our third trimester. Slack is not even remotely a way to describe the situation, and they failed to inform us of our options as it pertains to scheduling midwives and as a result, we were not able to do so. The one blood test that we managed to get at the hospital, we were asked to attend on a date, the hospital screwed up, scheduled themselves on the wrong date and for the incorrect test. My wife has worked herself to research, know what injections, blood tests and scans needed to be executed and when. She scheduled appointments with her GP and has ensured the safety of our child as a result. It seems the staff at Redcliffe Hospital are on a government tolerated "COVID holiday". Thankfully we are relocating to a new residence far away from Redcliffe and will have our child elsewhere with hospital staff who are eager to ensure the safety, health and overall wellbeing of my wife and child. Good, timely and courteous healthcare should be delivered with the ridiculous amount of money we all pay in taxes. #maternity #birth #pregnancy

My son had appendicitis and was referred here. Admission in Emergency was quick, and thorough testing was done. This was his first operation so naturally he was quite scared and upset but all the staff including nurses, doctors, surgeons and even the anesthetist all kept reassuring him and making sure all his worries were put to rest. I was allowed to be there with him until he went to sleep... He ended up needing to stay for 5 nights in 5D, but all the staff were kind, caring and looked after him well making sure he was as happy and as comfortable as he could be post surgery. I can’t think of one negative and I would happily take him back to this hospital and feel reassured that he is getting the best care. Thank you.

Why there only one Queensland Childrens Hospital? How awful for the children in the rest of the state. This should never have been called that, it intimates the state has no plans to invest in building hospitals in other cities in the state.

Don't bother going to the emergency department if you want to be seen in under 5 hours, and be prepared to threaten to leave without being seen before a doctor consult will take place. We took our feverish 4 month old baby there at 11pm on a Monday night and his ops were not taken until 1.30am. Then he was given panadaol and was left to sit in a bay for hours. Not until 4.30am when we tried to leave did they say a doctor needed to see us first as our son is only a baby. All they did was a covid swab and sent us home. Wouldn't have bothered if this was all that would happen. Very disgusting service. And if he is positive zero precautions were taken to keep him away from other patients. Several wandered into our bay and one was even yelling and screaming until they handcuffed the old woman to a bed and sedated her. Use an after hours doctor service instead and save yourself the trouble.

Sat here after the fourth hour of waiting in ED. Absolutely no staff on at all, haven’t seen a doctor to call anyone through in over an hour and a half. 23rd Oct I was taken to Redcliffe hospital after waiting for an ambulance for 2 hours on the side of the road with a dislocated kneecap. After being told I wasn’t priority and given a wheel chair with some wood (as I couldn’t bend my knee) I was told to wait in the waiting room, after 6 hours I was told again I was a priority and I got crutches and pain relief and got an Uber home.

I would really like to say thank you to the doctors and nurses who looked after my dad and are still looking after my dad following his stroke, but I’d also really like to acknowledge the two ladies on the reception/triage desk in the emergency department who maybe don’t realise how much their kindness and patience meant to me considering I was asking to come in and out to get my dad’s belongings and something for my mum to eat. Thank you for your patience and thank you for being a friendly face when I really needed one

Hospital was great when I turned up with a wrist broken in 4 places. Went again 2 days later to find 2 of my ribs were also broken in excruciating pain..they sent me home late on the Wednesday afternoon even though I was booked in for surgery the next morning . Turned up Thursday morning for surgery to my wrist..sat for 7 hours with no pain relief..never complained. The surgeon turned up around 4 and said he didn't have time to do my surgery and I would be booked in first thing Monday. Shoved some sandwich he's and biscuits in my bag and sent me home by cab. I am 63 and live alone. Since then I have had nothing from them to say when my surgery would be carried out. I am struggling at home by myself..particularly with meals..so I'm not really eating much. I contacted his Whitings office and they contacted hospital twice..but still no communication. I M flying to Pt Macquarie next Saturday..will be my last chance to see Dads 92 year old sister. I am a mess.

This hospital is horribly mismanaged. The staff are great. The emergency room is massive, but they have no beds to admit patients to. As an outpatient I’ve waited over an hour multiple times after I was on time for my appointments to be seen. They don’t respect your time at all.

The entire medical staff is very nice, caring & professional, everything's new and clean. Went as a public patient for an endoscopy and the only inconvenience was the waiting time for the procedure (3hrs - would've been nicer to wait at home), and some failed attempts at finding my veins by a medical student. There was also a mix up with my details (first time patient), but the staff resolved that quickly and professionally.

Devoted and Caring people looked after me when I visited emergency department on Friday 5 June 2020. Every person who dealt with me had an air of caring, respect and professionalism second to none. As I moved through the processes with my complicated complaint, I was met with superior care and love. Within 3 hours of entering their well managed distancing rules, with social distancing and sanitising paramount, I was discharged with a lot more information about my presentation. Not only were staff caring and professional, they were efficient in every stage. Thanks to some beautiful people whom I hope keep up this high standard of care at this hospital emergency department. Kudos to all the doctors and nurses and oncilliary staff there. You are doing a terrific job. Kudos to Wendy, Eimear, Robyn, Courtney, Earl? If I could give this place and their staff more stars I would. Went in today with my 6yr old complaining of chest pains. Temps were checked twice before even making it into emergency so they're following covid procedures well. Unfortunately only 1 parent could go in but that's just how it is at the moment and I appreciate them following these safely procedures. We were seen immediately after he initial questioning. Dr mark and nurse sam were absolutely amazing. They were always in checking and doing their tests and were both so sweet and patient with my daughter. Although I have only had good experiences with the staff at the Children's Hospital, the last two times I have been the treatment rooms have been unsanitary. 6.5 hours and the doctors couldn't figure out what infection my daughter's body was fighting so they decided to blame it on slightly lowered iron levels (which were still within the normal range). The pediatrician (something Anne) then tried to make us out to be the worst parents in the world because our daughter refuses to eat red meat. The "doctor" also kept saying how pale my daughter looked which was insulting because it is just her natural skin colour. I kept telling her this but she didn't care. Also, the doctor called Ben is a damn weirdo.

Our daughter was treated at the QLD Children's hospital after a nasty cut to her chin (an emergency surgery was performed with excellent result). We couldn't have wished for a better care for our little (then 6yr old). Now, a year later, our daughter was admitted to the burns unit after a cooking accident that resulted in burns to her face and arms. The burns unit staff looked after our child with an OUTMOST care - particularly as we were away in the US and my mother was looking after the kids. The staff were incredible and our daughter is receiving excellent post-treatment care with changing the bandages etc. THANK YOU to the Staff of the Qld Childrens Hospital and the Burns Unit!

Attended Redcliffe ED on the morning of Saturday 18/09 after attending Caboolture ED Friday afternoon 17/09. The difference between the two hospital emergency departments is incredible. I was given a hospital band in triage and brought into a room less than 45 minutes after arrival. I had bloods taken straight away and a full history taken. I was assessed by a Dr quickly and sent for the most thorough ultrasound I have ever received. It was a far better experience here than at Caboolture ED. All the staff were lovely and friendly and I felt well looked after here. I will be making this my new hospital for anything I need in future - will not be returning to Caboolture hopsital that's for sure.

I am so rating this a 4 purely based on the fact that my son went in with a dog bite wound to the face today and the guys that tended to him were amazing with him. I explained my worries to them about scaring and how I wanted him to look as normal as possible he didn’t get annoyed understood and exceeded expectations . Made sure my son was comfortable . I dropped it a star as my partner rushed in with my children to bring my infant who is breastfed the old receptionist treated him very rudely and not only that stormed into my room with an attitude didn’t even explain the situation properly and told me to go out and talk to my partner or ring him. Assuming we were in contact which was not the case at all due to him not having a phone . She could have handle the situation a lot better not treat patients whom especially has just witnessed a very traumatic event like that. Her behaviour was uncalled for . I defs think use need to rethink who you put on the desk. But other than her thanks to the rest who cared for my son today.

Redcliffe hospital is a very good medical centre. I have been to emergency and I was very well looked after. I arrived on crutches told them I had a DVT due to a fracture and I only waited in emergency for one minute.

The staff from emergency departments to ward 5 west to the porter and the pharmacy where all professionals and also very attentive and caring .I have nothing but praise for my treatment .only downsside I presume due to short staff the toilets on the ward where not so clean blood clots on the shower floor and walls and the toilet bowl . Or it would be 5 stars

The drs who said this clearly didn’t look at the real root of the problem. Nor did they have empathy, understanding or compassion. You see, my gf who has history of mental health admissions went in and a doctor told her I’m not going to bother looking at your injury because you just keep doing it. Another dr got angry at her too but she still struggles with the emotional concern that the adult mental health team haven’t taken good care of. Come on Australia, we need better mental health care

As far as hospitals go for a public hospital it is high standards with great doctors and nursing staff with a large amount of parking central location with extra added food bar outside the establishment has been around for generations with a futuristic design to feel like it was only recently built

Just wanted to say you guys in the emergency department were AWESOME with my 1 year old Angel on 7th June. From the receptionist at emergency to the doctors on duty and most of all the two nurses that were blowing bubbles for my daughter to preoccupy her, you ladies were the best & brought a smile to her face. Thank you so much for your great response & most importantly helping my little girl.

I have nothing but the highest praise for the wonderful and caring treatment that was given to my wife by all of the nursing staff and doctors at the Redcliffe Hospital. Her passing was made as comfortable as possible for our family by the wonderful nurses and we can only thank them sincerely for their kindness.

I have been seeing Nurse Clare in the Physiotherapy Department and have to say that she has completely changed my life! The care and advice she has given me are second to none and I feel like a new person. She gave me advice in an easy to learn language and I followed her advice, so happy with the results. I will miss her dreadfully and no doubt she will be a massive loss to the hospital as she is retiring. Thank you so much Clare, you have a special gift.

Clean, tidy and food was pretty good. Doctors were good and helpful, kept me informed. Nurses are next level human beings. Super kind, attentive, skilled and very caring. Felt like I was the only patient they had when speaking to them even though they're over worked and under staffed. They all need halos.

Came up because my kid was sick. Nothing but left in a room, given no water, no results sitting there shivering in an arm chair coughing high temp and no pain meds. We ended up walking out. We ended up calling the ryans rule outside the hospital only to be told that you can only do it inside the hospital yet you cannot have any reception. My son is very very crook. We were denied everything i as a parent was concerned about. They did this to me when i was pregnant with him too nearly killing him. My wonderful gp is disgusted he could hear him coughing and has immediately ordered further tests. Avoid this hospital

I was at the Emergency Department 25/06/2023. I need a operation on my abdomen. Arrived at 9am & left at 5pm. The staff treated me with the utmost respect & comfort. I cannot remember the names of all staff but you know who you are. I will be operated on soon but they took blood, gave me the antibiotics I needed & a CT Scan. I just want you all to know how appreciated you are to me. Thank you very much. Scotty Mazza

Went to the paediatric ED with my son. We were seen with 15 minutes of completing the initial paperwork. The nurse practitioner, RNs and radiographer were all fantastic. We were out in just over an hour. You guys do great things there.

Two emergency trips, 2nd by ambulance with 3 wonderful paramedics. Dr Alvin Khuh (under Dr Pat Carroll) was always positive and lights up a bad day with his smile. The liaison with RBWH doctors gave me confidence in treatment and diagnosis. Fiona in Medical Records was so helpful as were the pharmacy l and transit lounge staff. Thank you.

Negative 10 stars!!! Was taken to redcliffe hospital in an ambulance for a suspected pinched nerve in my lower back. Got there at 5:30PM was given pain relief ONCE over an hour after waiting in the hallway. Nurse would briefly check in then be no where in sight for over an hour, asked multiple times if they could give any time of arrival for a doctor… I was told they didn’t know. i waited 8hrs to get a room and to see a doctor. At 1:40am I hobbled out without ever seeing a doctor.

Highly disappointed with the care for my 5 month old daughter. Went to Redcliffe hostipal because our doctor wanted her to get checked because she was having trouble breathing due to having bronchitis. Went up and got admitted to the children's ward and the doctors were hopeless didn't prescribedl her antibiotics or anything. They wanted her to get worse before they would even consider doing something. I discharged her and ended up taking her to my doctors again the next day and getting antibiotics for her. Which Redcliffe hostipal would not do. How disappointing. And how about us paying tax and they have a shortage of staff. Also not to mention the shortage of beds for us parents I was sleeping in a recliner for the 2 nights.

Lovely people, very able staff esp in transit. Just a struggle to get through the process. Chopped off finger on Thurs, sat in transit until surgery on Saturday. Told to make a follow up appointment in a week, stitches out in 2 weeks. 10 days later I still can't make one appointment, let alone 2. Been promised a call back 3 times. Today I can't even get past switchboard. Lucky it was only a finger.
