Located off the beaten track. Makasutu offers thrill blazing experience for travelers especially nature admirers; with its calm and beautiful scenery overlooking the River Gambia. It is one of the best places to visit in Gambia.

One of the most peaceful park in The Gambia. Situated somewhere in brikama. Excellent for a day out or two (you can sleep over) if you want to get away from the noise of the city. Try the boat ride as well.

So glad we visited Makasutu during our trip to The Gambia. Be sure to climb the top of the tower! Beautiful scenery, a great tour guide, lots to see on the river boat ride and the baboons were very entertaining ☺️ Lots of amazing handmade carvings and woodwork to purchase at the end of the experience too. We were made to feel so welcome and overall we had a fantastic time 🌟

The owners need to do some work on this place. You can tell that it is only a shadow of what it used to be. Everything is run down and broken. It is a beautiful place though and Ebima, our tour guide, was very informative. I would recommend going IF they update it. They are charging more than EVER, 1.2k D for non-Gambians, for a “full day”… we were there for 2-3 hours. Craziness! We couldn’t do half the things available there because it’s broken and so run down.

An underrated tourist spot Due to covid-19, it's a bit run-down, but my guide boubacar did a great job in introducing the wonder of the nature to me, leaves me a very pleasant experience Please go to boubacar for a good excursion experience

What a Rip off! The high price of the entrance is not worth it. D800 per person and then they expect you to leave a tip in every stop you make while putting no effort at all. Gambia corruption at its finest as they dont invest anything in mantaining the park infrastructure at all. What a Scam!

The park is Nice. But the organisation lacks vision. I foresee serious and huge problems because the baboons are multiplying fast and the Forest does not (certainly not!!) provide enough food. The monkey will come to the villages for food and again humans are responsible for this problem but the animals will bleed for that. So please Gambia people do something and plan a project for birth control before this problem is too big for you people!!

However interesting a destination is - it is ultimately judged by the number of visitors it gets . This in turn is determined by the ease of access and entrance fee . The resort failed on both counts. Very difficult to access because of very bad road conditions . The entrance fees is unnecessarily extortionate for a ‘national’ park.

Beautiful experience just outside of Banjul, with a full day park, mixing local animals, forest, and boat trip in the mangroves

(Translated by Google) Bought half ticket, it took about 2 hours and we had our own guide who constantly told us about all herbs, plants in the forest, we went boat on the river creek, saw birds. I envisioned myself at the Marabout, the Prophet, and we ended up tasting palm wine and seeing how the cook got up in the palm tree. Jag spådde mig hos Marabouten, spåmannen och vi avslutade med att smaka palmvin och se hur tillredaren tog sig upp i palmen.

(Translated by Google) In one word, great. We drove to the park with a taxi driver who was at our hotel. The trip there was already worth the effort. You get to see the "real" Gambia. After paying 800 Dalassie pp entrance we were guided by a guide who knew something interesting about every aspect of the jungle, the mangroves, the animals that live there, the habits of the people and how they use the natural resources. to tell. Nature is overwhelming, even at the end of the dry season. By taking a taxi ourselves, we felt we received a VIP treatment for half the price that we would otherwise have had to pay to our tour operator. (Original) In één woord, geweldig.

(Translated by Google) Very poor experience of visiting this property. Admission 800 dalasi per person. The price includes a several-minute trip through the woods with a "guide" who casually showed us a few trees and a 15-minute "cruise" through the tiny mangrove forest with a canoe managed by the "captain". No wildlife. You can also use the services of "shaman" and admire the local dancers. Staff clearly requests tips at every opportunity. The highlight of the program is, of course, a souvenir shop. Motorcycle access to this place through local villages and the forest provided us with much more experience than a visit to this resort. I definitely do not recommend.

Underwhelming and a bit sad really. The whole place felt worn out and unloved. Appreciate that it may have taken a bigger hit than some other places in Gambia from the COVID pandemic, but it did seem that there is so much more that you could do with this with just a small amount of money and effort. That said the guide was engaging and very knowledgeable about the various local plants and their medicinal uses, while the boat ride through the mangroves was short (30 mins) but still pleasant. The steps on the tower would give a health and safety expert nightmares but the view from the top is quite impressive. The musicians were also good (particularly the Kora player) but there was a constant request for tips which was more obvious than other places in Gambia. And despite promises we didn’t see any of the baboons, which was one of the major reasons for visiting.
