Ranked 1st as the best steak in the world. That’s a massive title but it didn’t disappoint! So pleased with the overall experience! Ordered the £16 Rump and Chips Lunch Deal, which offered till 3pm every day. All their steaks are charcoal grilled, so giving it an extra grilled flavour. The rump is beautifully seared. Love the fatty and tendon parts in particular. Medium, temperature is spot on, pink in the middle! So good even without any sauce (£3) can taste the original beefy favour. Chips are so crispy too! Love the friendly staff always smiling:) Will come back. Building is extraordinary. historical!

Incredible experience from the moment we stepped in to this stunning restaurant. The attentive service by the friendly, knowledgeable staff was second to none. The Chateaubriand, accompanied by delicious macaroni cheese and bone marrow gravy, melted in our mouths . Excellent wine list and amazing desserts. Highly recommend trying the cocktails too.

Quickly greeted and taken to our table, which was a nice booth overlooking the whole restaurant. It was a busy Friday evening and the service was excellent. The steak was cooked perfectly, and all sides were extremely tasty. We came here for an anniversary but I'd recommend visiting for any occasion! Will definitely return. Thanks Hawksmoor.

We booked Hawksmoor after watching the Netflix documentary about the owner and the company. Absolutely stunning building with some beautiful features. The staff were very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. However, a couple of things let it down. We ordered a Porterhouse steak to share, We ordered it medium but came to us somewhere between medium rare and rare. It wasn't a problem and we ate it as it was. We didn't complain and it was still beautiful. I was disappointed not to find draft beers and lagers. I don't really like to be served beer in a 330ml can with a glass like a Coke in a cafe which at just over half a pint equates to nearly £10 a pint. Pouring yourself a beer from a can should only be reserved for the home drinker and not a high-end restaurant. Maybe our expectations were set too high by the documentary and by the price. All in all, we had a good experience but not a great experience.

Absolutely amazing. From the moment you step in the door, to the moment you leave the place is sensational. The steak was flavourful, the cider cold, and the staff the right balance of friendly yet conservative. Yes, prices here are a lot higher than most restaurants in the area, but the steak was cooked perfectly to my liking, and was just right. Would absolutely recommend Hawksmoor to anyone. The menu is varied with some good specials on the boards too so a very good selection. The only criticism I would have were desserts; a bit of a strange mix, and the sticky toffee pudding I had while delicious, it was insanely sweet to the point it was impossible to finish. But overall a really good choice for food in Liverpool. Come here hungry and you will not be disappointed.

The restaurant itself was beautiful, staff super friendly and attentive! Just a bit disappointed with “the best steak.” Read in another comment how they ordered their steaks a certain way and half of it was over cooked. We ordered our steaks medium rare and 3 out of the 4 mains ordered were unfortunately not consistent with being medium rare. One end of the steak would be well done, not even medium-well. And the other end of the same steak would be perfect. So it’s a pity that’s what let it down. The price paid does not reflect the quality sadly.

Had a wonderful time at Hawksmoor, Liverpool We have been fortunate to visit a few Hawksmoor restaurants and Liverpool is lovely. The building is amazing and really Great Gatsby style, although there are a couple of stairs to access. It's no problem but will need to lift chairs / prams etc. Service was great. We went on father's day and it did seem the restaurant was exceptionally busy, not that we minded, we like the atmosphere. Food was great and just as good as every other Hawksmoor. Steak was plentiful and tasty. We had macaroni cheese, chips and mash alongside. It was all delicious. The meat was slightly crispy on the outside, and the Macaroni a little over crispy for us. My thoughts were maybe it was under the light or due to such a high visitor rate, it was delayed coming off or out. However, this did not affect taste, the meal was still a delicious and it is certainly not a complaint. A wonderful experience, friendly place and we would certainly return when we go back to Liverpool

Excellent ! I love this place. There is not once that I’ve come here that was disappointing. All times it’s a very very good experience. From drinks to food I love this place. Super recommend. It’s a bit expensive so prepare for that when you add wine. If no wine they have a promotion of food for 25£ which is good. I would change just the music would add some dining music to make it more cozy.

5 star!!! For everything!! Food was incredible, service was unbelievable and the atmosphere/setting was so classy. Came here for my birthday with the missus. Fillet steak was like silk, creamy spinach and mash with bone marrow gravy. 😮‍💨😮‍💨 Cheesecake and a couple of drinks each to end was amazing. Can’t wait to come back….. Be warned, alittle on the expensive side… £212!!

* Arrival. - Very welcoming, friendly members of staff who escorted us to our table. * Food & Drink. - We started with a cocktail and a 'sharpener' - Negroni and Ranch Water. Both were good. - Appetisers we had three scotch bonnet oysters, bone marrow with onions, scallops. I cannot fault any of them, all were to a high standard. The scallops are some of the best I've ever tasted, extremely fresh and packed full of flavour. The bone marrow was incredibly tasty, the onions elevated the dish to another level. Oysters were fresh and the spice from the peppers complimented them perfectly. - The main course we ordered a 700g Chateaubriand, unfortunately this was a major disappointment. When paying £16 per 100g, expectations are obviously to a high standard. We requested for it to be cooked medium rare, you could argue that the closer to the middle of the steak we got it may have been medium rare, but the majority was medium well and shockingly well done. A Chateaubriand should be tender, velvety, melt in the mouth texture that a knife should glide through. However, it was incredibly difficult to eat, extremely tough, rubber textured which took an entirety to chew. It was more to the consistency of roast beef than an actual steak, it was just a very bad cut of meat. I try not to exaggerate when I say I've had steaks from supermarkets and even Weatherspoons that have been more tender. - Sides consisted of creamed spinach and beef dripping fries, whilst the latter didn't really have a wow factor the spinach was very very good. - Wine: we took a Chilean blend, medium bodied called Grus de Alcohauz which went down well. Huge selection of wine which is great and good that you have an in-house sommelier in case of any directions you may need in choosing a wine. * Service recovery - I cannot fault the staff, each person who tended to us was professional, polite and worked with a smile on their face. - When following up with us during our Chateaubriand course, I gave my feedback to the waitress and showed her my concerns with the steak. She agreeded that it wasn't medium rare and offered to replace. However, I chose not accept that offer as we had already begun, we had already ate perhaps 25% of the overall steak and didn't feel the desire to want to stop and then continue again with a new steak and sides later. - I was pleasently surprised to be told that the entire steak would be taken off the bill which I was grateful for. The fact that the staff member could see my feedback I'm sure beneficial to the overall decision to remove from the bill. * Overall - I had been wanting to come to Hawksmoor for a long time but left feeling disappointed. Whilst I had fantastic items from the menu such as the scallops and the bone marrow, they were ultimately not what I came to Hawksmoor for. The star of the show should have been the steak but it fell so far short that it takes away from the rest. - Would I return or recommend? I would like to give it the benefit of the doubt and come again, but this time perhaps I would order a regular individual steak rather than one of the premium sharing options only then could I recommend it. Thanks for the service.

I've been to other "Hawksmoor's" and was very much looking forward to the one opening up in Liverpool. Maybe it was teething problems with it being new, but the whole experience fell far below what I'd experienced in other locations. To be fair the main event of the steak itself was "good" (not great), but that was let down by the starters and deserts which were at kindest/best described as "ok". Service was inconsistent, at times rushed & at other times less than professional. As for atmosphere your mileage might vary. Its a big room and the two of us were plonked on a table in the middle of a half empty room. As a result the atmosphere was 2 stars at best. Had we been sat elsewhere then that would improve, but on that visit where we were sat (given the plenty of other options available) was unflattering to the space. So with regret it's 3 stars at best currently, and I'm not in any rush to back. Hopefully things will mature/improve, but until then there are better options locally.

First visit to a Hawksmoor restaurant and was absolutely blown away, the interior and decor was fantastic. The staff we’re very friendly and knowledgeable about the steaks they had available, they had loads of choice on the menu and everything sounded great. I had the scallops to start which were delicious, I followed up with a ribeye steak with triple cooked chips, Mac & cheese, béarnaise sauce & bone marrow gravy. The steak was amazing just melted in your mouth, and the recommended sides complimented it perfectly, finished it off with the chocolate anglaise which was just outstanding. The staff were fantastic and very helpful, especially when I had an issue with my Apple Pay. Will definitely be going back to try the rest of the menu 😄

Absolutely fantastic. Stacey and Lilia deserve a special mention as they're both wonderful. We celebrated our friend's 40th birthday and they treated her like an absolute queen!! The food was outstanding as was the service. The building is beautiful and makes for a really pleasant place to enjoy your food. The decor is classy and cosy. The rump steak was juicy and cooked to perfection and the peppercorn sauce was delicious. Highly recommend paying Hawksmoor a visit. I will absolutely be returning and telling all my friends and family too.

Blown away by this place, prefect all round. The feasting Sunday lunch T-bone we had was simply amazing, Yorkshire pudding was huge and very tasty beef dripping roast potatoes were amazing, as was the veg and gravy. Service was very attentive without being pushy, and the wine and cocktails were beautiful. Desserts were spectacular. And to top it all off the building itself was a thing of beauty, very classy art deco. Cannot recommend this place enough

Absolutely perfect bday meal. Had the rump steak, jersey potatoes and bearnaise sauce. Peanut butter shortbread. Food was well done and super tasty. Seasoned well, presentation simple and appealing. The service was amazing, attentive and relaxed. We had a gentleman suggest drinks at the bar based on what we liked and a gentleman suggested wine for me also. Honestly attention to detail and knowledge of produce was great. Had the grenache red wine, light and nice fragrant wine. The building is beautiful, decor was 1920s mafia joint comes to mind. Love it, dark and intimate.

Was honestly the best steak I have ever eaten, sides were also delicious. My partner ordered from the blackboard (no prices) he was stunned when we got the bill. £90 just for the steak he ordered. Yes it was huge! Yes he loved it. Unfortunately he was not happy as he isn't wealthy footballer. Lesson learnt! Ask first. However, my steak was £33 which was very reasonable and divine I ordered sirloin.

Our 2nd visit to Hawksmoor, Liverpool, last night, well where do I start, we had an incredible evening, the welcome from all the staff was lovely, we were looked after by Jack (Waiter) and Steve our Sommelier, their knowledge was incredible, 4 people in total dined, 3 had scallops to start, sour dough bread, I had the ribs, all beautiful, full of flavour, our mains were Porterhouse steak to share with mushrooms, mac & cheese, it was incredible, others had Fillet steak, Sirloin, triple cooked chips, mushrooms, all beautifully cooked to perfection. Desserts were apple crumble/cream, sticky toffee pudding, peanut butter warm biscuits with ice cream, cheese board, also wines to accompany each course. I would highly recommend Hawksmoor, Liverpool, we had an unforgettable evening, special thanks to Jessica Preston, Jack and Steve for making our evening extra special 5*****

Hawksmoor: a thing of beauty ✨ I’ve been checking Hawksmoor out since they opened & kept meaning to visit, but it never quite happened, so when I saw a rail strike deal on, aimed at incentivising people to visit on strike days, I thought… let’s do it! 🖼️ Hawksmoor, set in the historic India Buildings, is a stunning venue. There are parts of architecture from the old bank, and Ste remembers it being a post office too. Liverpool is fantastic at remodelling buildings but keeping parts of history visible- I think it’s fascinating! Hawksmoor feels luxurious and opulent, but still relaxed and friendly too, so it’s ideal. On to the food! 🦪 I started with oysters, which were gorgeous. If you’re going fancy, you might as well make it count, right? 🥩We went for steak frites for our mains. I had mine medium rare and it was absolutely *divine*. The flavours were stunning & nothing was overly complicated. Ste upgraded to a fillet tail, which, turns out, is different to a fillet. He wasn’t hugely keen on the texture. I tried it too, obviously, and I thought it was also wonderful 🤷🏻‍♀️ 🧀🥬🥔 The macaroni cheese was lovely, but my outstanding dish was the creamed spinach- actually heavenly and I was so sad it was finished 😅 The mash & gravy was also perfect. 🍓We shared strawberry pavlova and chocolate rolos, even though we were stuffed. They were delicious & I fully recommend overindulging like we did! 🍸We had (strong!) French martinis, a lychee martini, & a lemon sgroppino- my favourite. Tangy & refreshing 🍋🤩 Overall, I’d give Hawksmoor 5⭐️, absolutely no doubt about it. Straight into our top 5 steak places, and smashed Gaucho to pieces!

First time visit, and can only say good things about it. The service was quick and our server Anthony was particularly attentive and friendly, helping to make food and cocktail choices and also made the effort to make a birthday extra special. The steak and chips were delicious but a special mention for the chocolate anglaise dessert which was honestly one of the best desserts I've EVER had full stop. The building and decor is beautiful too, all in all a terrific experience.

We booked for a Sunday lunch expecting this to be a good experience and we were not disappointed. We were recommended a couple of cocktail choices by our waitress Erin (I think that was her name!), a Sour Cherry Negroni, and a New York Sour, these were both excellent. The roast dinner was delicious, lovely pink rump with wonderful and generous sides. We ordered an extra creamed spinach which was very good. The pannacotte dessert was 👌 Will definitely be coming back. And my boyfriend also expects he will come here off the train in future just to get the sour cherry Negroni again ☺️

Absolutely outstanding food and steaks. Our wonderful server Georgina was so friendly and kind we came back with friends in the same week. Scallops were epic and Porthouse steak was worth every penny. I had epic cocktails and the ambiance was relaxing and fabulous. Highly recommended... Best steak restaurant in Liverpool 👌🍴😋. We even took a Doggy bag home for our fur baby who gave you 5 stars too. Thanks team at Hawksmoor.. We appreciate you 🌟🌟🌟🌟

We visited Hawksmoor on a Friday evening and could not fault it whatsoever. Our waiter specifically, unfortunately didn’t get his name, looked after us amazingly. Our drinks took a short while (we’ve waited longer in other restaurants) and he was straight over apologising and taking them off our bill. He made sure we understood the menu, and recommended sides with the dishes we had. My partner was recommended the bone marrow gravy which he had and it was exceptional. Our food, the scallops, salmon, wellington and fillet were all amazing, could not fault them. Overall an amazing evening, lots of staff to help, busy, good atmosphere and our waiter made it a lovely evening for us. Will definitely be back and recommending it.

Oysters to start, fresh and tasty. Steak was absolutely brilliant, probably the best cut I've ever had. We both had the rib eye. The Spinach in cream was so tasty and a great to go with the steak. Bone marrow gravy and peppercorn were both great also. Service was superb couldn't ask for much more, very helpful and attentive. Can't wait to come back.
