Interesting to learn about the history of St Kitts. Gorgeous views over the surrounding island. A little strenuous walking up hills for those not used to it be well worth it.

History Buffs will love this place. Still a lot of historical restoration to occur, but the bones of the place are amazing. With the $40 an hour taxi ride to it, and then they wait while you tour. Probably a 3 hour charge if you walk around. A good taxi driver will give you a lot of background as you go!

A must see if you love history and beautiful views. Well preserved fort, have your walking shoes on to explore. I was there during hurricane season, so there were no long lines for tickets, snacks, or souvenirs. I bought tickets on-site.

If you don't like heights, or climbing up steep and narrow paths, you might want to consider skipping this place. It's historic, scenic but a boring self tour. You pay so much money as a none citizen only for them to tell you, you are on your own on the grounds. You can't even enter the compound without paying the fees. Then drive up a winding 1 vehicle road. We walked through the fort for about an hour and a half leisurely on our own, as there was no tour guide. Then we left. So I really don't have much more to say about this place.

This had awesome historical significance in St Kitts and had fantastic views as my pictures demonstrate. Word of caution: there are lots of places unattended children can get injured severely.

Such a rich history and much had been beautifully restored to it's grand elegance! There is a video on the history of the fort in the orientation room - we opted to not watch it this time because of time constraints and because it just wasn't our thing. The walk up to the fort can be brutal, especially in the August heat/humidity, and even moreso if you have asthma (which I do), so take it slow, it's worth it. Once at the top, the view is breathtaking. Take a pic with one of the many restored antique cannons, check out the various rooms filled with the historical relics, and immerse yourself in the remarkable history and culture that is Fort Brimstone. Overall, highly recommended as a must-see on thid remarkable island! Sidenote: We took a taxi to the fort to avoid the costly tour prices, and our driver Omari was so awesome and knowledgeable he was able to give us a mini tour anyway. I highly recommend utilizing the taxi drivers, they are locals and are eager to share knowledge about the island and history.

This is a must see when visiting Saint Kitts! Not only is the drive to the fort an adventure, the views are spectacular and the history is something everyone should read about! The couple working the gift shop was knowledgeable and friendly (knowing the difference between a dress and a sundressπŸ˜‚), and the resident kitty is pretty cute! Although the cafe wasn't open during our visit, there is cold beer and other beverages available in the gift shop. For those not as able-bodied as some, the walk to the top is fairly steep. However, you can take your time and utilize the wall for stability. The views are definitely worth every step!

Very neat old fort. Fair warning, the drive up is not for the faint of heart. The road and entryways are barely wide enough for one car, but it is 2-way traffic. The walk up to the fort itself is also somewhat uneven. Safety and accessibility are not the same on the island as in the US, so be mindful of that if you have smaller children or disabilities. The view from the top is just beautiful, and there are several rooms that contain more information on the history of the fort and the island. They accept payment in USD or EC and there is a significant discount for Ross students.
