Great hostel in a good location at the Valley, right near the Fortitude Valley train station and the busy dining and party areas. I stayed there on a weekend at the end of October 2022 just before the hostel commenced renovations. Even prior to renovation, it was a good warm hostel and a great opportunity to meet other travellers. The staff are friendly and meeting travellers is quite easy and they are also very friendly. The rooms were nice, tidy and quite pleasant. Great hostel choice for single travellers or those travelling as a couple who want to bunk to save. I would recommend this place if you like the party atmosphere or if you simply want to meet and mix with other travellers. After all, the Valley is a party place and is very lively on the weekends. I would love to visit this place to see what it is like after it was renovated.

Zero.. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME BOOKING!!! Refused by the receptionist who was on 8.20pm 12/11/21 she won't give me her name or let me contact the manager.. I paid for 2 beds separately but because my partner couldn't get in i wasn't even aloud a shower my partner couldn't get in because his ID was on his phone therefore I wasn't even aloud a shower very poor hospitality and customer service so low would never reconsider just because lack of customer service and willingness to help absolutely disappointed hopefully im the last person this happens to but judging by the service I won't be don't even waste your time

Pros: The rooms in this place have been done up recently and are quite nice. The beds are comfortable and each bed has two plug sockets and a lamp. The kitchen although far away is quite large and offers decent facilities. The pool is decent and there is a free pool table next to it. The club offers a free drink and entry for bunk residents. Cons: The rooms have ensuite toilets and showers which stink. The rooms smell awful most of the time which is my main gripe with this place. The plug sockets in the beds all make static noises which can be irritating. No one cleans up after themselves in the kitchen. This is the worst I've seen after busy cooking hours. The club is actually awful. Floors are paper thin so you can hear people stomping around. The pictures of this hostel made me quite excited to attend but unfortunately they still have many problems to sort out to justify the money they are charging.

Couldnt use the code to have $20 overnight parking as it wasnt valid. Rooms were great value, the guy at reception checking us in was lovely. The lady on security leading from the Hostel into Birdies was incredibly rude. Forgot my mask when we went down stairs to leave the Hostel and she started yelling out to us saying she was refusing me service if i came back with no mask on. I said im not trying to be served and she told us that she would refuse to let me back in the Hostel without one, which legally she cannot do. She was so rude and unhelpful.

Bring sleeping pills and earplugs! Location is great for the nightclubs but then your room will look over one of them, don't expect to get any sleep before 3am Friday and Saturday nights, midnight Sunday night. As music is pumping on the courtyard downstairs. The building is an old wooden warehouse so you will hear the walking of the people in the rooms above you. And your roommates comings and goings. Staff are really nice and friendly and helpful. Sheets and doona covers are changed between every person. Bathrooms are cleaned daily, so it's tidy. Met some nice people.

Got as close as the check in counter, and was denied due to not being able to produce a passport. I had my Australian driver's licence, that wasn't enough. I'm pretty sure that is illegal, if not it's very un-Australian. The guy at the counter started yelling at me, at the top of his lungs when I questioned what he was saying, by asking whether it was a law or a company policy. Would not provide me his name, but he was the only one on the counter at the time I went there. There was also another gentleman sitting in the lobby also. Very very unfortunate, as it looks like it's had some work done since I was there last.

great location in fortitude valley. very smart for a hostel. the hostel has its own bar / club with cheap drinks. a free drink was on offer at 8pm which was a good opportunity to meet other travellers. very friendly staff from the front desk to bar to security. despite all this we had no trouble sleeping, no noise issues, etc. although that could be due to the placement of the room we had. my friend and I had a twin ensuite room which was comfortable and clean.

Disappointing unfortunately… the bed was very squeaky and uncomfortable, bathroom fan unbearably loud, very dated interior, poor location of PowerPoints - i acknowledge it’s still a tough time for the tourism industry but this was not up to standard

Extremely disappointed after being a regular guest in the past and having a great time meeting new people from all around the world to now be discriminated aginst for being Australian and be told that I can no longer book into a dorm and the only accommodation offered to people without an international passport is private rooms. Which on the night I required were priced at $190. I work as a guide in international tourism in the Whitsundays and over the past 10 years have recomended bunk to many guests on my tours, this is something I will not be doing again.

Beds so comfy I missed my 5am train 😅 Meet good people and half price drinks all night at the club next door. And the aircon is actually great. Friendly and helpful staff.

Nice enough but has a duplex set up which means that it was a huge effort to get heavy bags up to my section of the room. Not ideal after a long journey.

Best hostel in Australia so far. Recently renovated & super social. The bar next door was amazing and the team behind the desk were amazingly helpful during my time there. Will def be back. Shoutout to the manager Hoff for making sure I made it back to my BUNK after a few to many shandies at the bar.

Had a complaint but they never responded very disappointed. Was not their fault but have to admit that I am in disbelief that they do not want to talk to me to find a solution. Finally escalated this to my airline with whom I did the booking. I would not be able to recommend this location. Update: they never reached out so not impressed so lost another star for ignoring

The worst hostel ever - and I've been traveling as a backpacker for 2 years now! No proper blankets and not washed. Rooms too small and not ventilated. The whole hostel is sick including staff. Noisy throughout. Far too few showers and toilets. All unisex only. The staff totally unfriendly. Phone loudly in private while working and watching TV on mobile. The hostel is located in the red light district! Totally unsafe.

Clean, large hostel located not too far from Brisbane CBD. Rooms are modern and well appointed for a hostel. Not to mention fairly large. Also very important... Rooms are clean. Each bunk comes with a power point and personal light. Big reception area. Highly recommended.

+ve: Very smart hostel, big rooms, kitchen cleaned regularly, central location. Casey gave us great tips for the next part of our trip to Cape Trib. -ve: Only provided a towel each - no hand towel or bath mat, and only one pillow per person, lots of nightclubs in the area.

Location is great ! Tom and Hoffy are absolute Gems. Great personalities. They made us feel welcomed . We have an early flight and got an early check in. The washrooms and the beds are exceptionally maintained . Cleanliness at its best. Great job guys 👏

Good hostel. Downstairs is a good hangout spot. Area has lots going on as well. Only thing with the rooms is that there’s no privacy certain against the beds but it’s a minor detail. Apart from that can’t complain. Would definitely stay again.

Great location and super affordable. Staff were friendly and amenities were clean. Will definitely be staying with them again. Only wish there was free parking!

A brilliant place to stay for a few days. I loved the room, even though it accommodates 10 people. There was plenty of room and privacy. And my personal favourite, it had individual charging ports next each bed (seems to be incredibly difficult to find in most hostels - not sure they’ve discovered how great that makes the room so you don’t have to worry about your phone being left in the other side of the room) any way…the staff were friendly and very helpful for suggestions and navigation. Locations isn’t bad, a couple of stops from the Greyhound bus station and a bit of a walk into central Brisbane but that isn’t the worst thing in the world. The rooms were clean and the kitchen (for a hostel) was incredibly clean and well maintained. I would absolutely stay again and recommend.

Fabulous hostel! Everything was super clean and a friendly vibe :) Massive kitchen, very spacious rooms, and lots of social areas. Handy location too - would recommend!

Overall, the staff at the hostel were friendly, and I appreciated their assistance. However, my stay on the 5th floor posed some challenges. I had to carry my luggage up and down the stairs, which was quite inconvenient. On the day of my early checkout at 4 am, I hoped for some leniency regarding my sheets left on the bed. Unfortunately, I was required to climb all the way back up the stairs to complete the check-out process. While I understand that the staff may have their protocols to follow, it would be beneficial if the management could consider more compassionate solutions in specific situations.

I am a returning customer and have told everyone about the practical. industrial aesthetic style and great service! Couldn’t request a different room because elevator not working!! Hard enough to walk up to second floor-I am76!

A well thought out hostel in a great location in the centre of Brisbane. Large well equipped kitchen, fridge, and communal areas. We had a private ensuite room on the fourth floor. Housekeeping daily. The only real downside was the free internet was a little on the poor side.

Amazing hostel. All the staff was extra nice and they made us feel comfortable at all times. Great location with many attractions, shops and pubs very close. The kitchen was seriously amazing, never seen a bigger kitchen anywhere and so well equipped and extremely clean always. Lots of space to eat, huge reception to chill out, many books to read, it has a very cool bar that offers free dinner when you buy $5 drinks, but haven't been to the bar. They also offer 50% discount off meals in a pub nearby, so you can have very yummy dishes for $7.5. Room was a private one with a bunk bed, Mattress wasn't very comfortable, that's the only thing that could be better. Bathroom was only shared with another room like ours and it was always very clean and nice. Highly recommend this place, excellent value for the money paid.

It does what a hostel does. And the staff do their best and are very kind. Considering the location it is worth the money. One free beer and breakfast is included. The bar next to the bunk is always busy. No bedbugs, clean Sheets (If not just ask for new). Besides the mold in nearly all the bathroom vents it is very fun to be here.

the only problem was the internet that we had to pay for, but the hostel was amazing for us, toilet very clean, good breakfast included, good location. I forgot to mention the free drink voucher, which was amazing. the bar of the hostel is really good to meet people and make friends

We stayed here the first two nights after there re-opening, they just renovated the whole place, and we absolutely loved it. We stayed in a 10 bed dorm but because of how the beds where placed and of how the room was designed it didn't feel like it. Beds are spacious and really comfy. Location is superb, only a short walk from the CBD. Bar attached is fun as well. Staff was very friendly and enthousiastic. Definitely would recommend!

Awesome stay. Free drink at 8pm and they even did a spontaneous free BBQ! Comfy enough beds albeit the frames very squeaky. Everything was clean too. The hostel generally has a fab atmosphere about it with super friendly staff.

Initial impressions very good, friendly staff, on site parking for 12 dollars a night, clean rooms, large kitchen. Overall a nice Hostel but a few areas they need to improve on. You have to pay for wifi, which in this day and age is just not acceptable. The kitchen needs to be better stocked, there is a severe shortage of sharp knives so we struggled to cut our onions. Also the kitchen closed at 10 with no warning so we couldn't access our food when we got the late night munchies. Has great potential if they just fix these few issues.

Check in clerk was amazing. Rooms need a good overhaul though. Needs condiments in the apartments as well. Quite noisy Air-conditioning to.

Dirty, smells, alcohol left in room, cigarette butts left around, no windows you can open in the rooms, dirty sheets

I only stayed 1 night and did not use the kitchen or laundry or shower. The beds were petty good for privacy, they had their own light, a charger however the sheets grossed me out. The sheets are dark blue so it's hard to check if they are clean, the bed cover is left so it worried me is it ever gets washed mine had white patches on it. The first pillow I was about to use had a hair on it. The bathroom was okay, it looked abit dirty, didn't look like it gets a very good clean, just looks like it gets a quick wipe down on the Baden and then a quick sweep. Overall didn't feel clean and didn't look very clean but still clean enough to stay the night but definitely felt like I needed a good shower when I got home.

4 and 8 beds available per room, in a old apartment that needs some update, the elevator is broken and stairs are not large enough to carry 2 lugagges properly, besides this all, is a great place, their service are top notch for what they have, and their location is well placed with nightlife and restaurants. Is simple and warm place to be.

  • 3/5 Jana B. 1 year ago on Google
Stayed there for 2 nights. Close to bars and clubs (5 min walk) and the hostel offers a free drink for one bar every evening and 50% off a meal at a certain restaurant. The room I stayed in was rather old and the lights at the bed did not work. There were barely any sockets in the room for charging your phone etc. and none close to the bed... Only one of the lights was working and therefore it was really dark the entire time even if you opened the curtains (which had weird stains on them). Bed and sheets were also not that clean (hair and stains on them). The entire building was rather old and could use some remodeling. The bathroom in comparison though was nice and modern. Billiard table in the lobby and friendly staff. For a few nights it's good enough.

  • 2/5 Emily W. 1 year ago on Google
The rooms were very cramped, not much room to put your bags down and then walk around, and bed sheets were dirty. The bathroom was clean. You can hear the music from the club till early hours of the morning, so when trying to sleep if you're a light sleeper it isn't great. I personally wouldn't stay here again.
