Very nice guest house in center of Brisbane. Room is clean with basic furnitures and small fridge. Having air-con and a small sink in the room too. Reasonable price. Located just a short walk from Brisbane cbd, this place is very convenient to explore Brisbane's top tourist attractions. There is Spring Hill loop free bus nearby that take you to the Roma Street parkland or Brisbane cbd too which is a bonus. The best thing about this place is top notch services from Sean and Stephen. Sean is very attentive and accommodating. He is super friendly and flexible and always ensure that we feel comfortable and have the best time at his place. Cant ask for better services from these guys. Thanks Sean :) There are car park on side streets just in front too which is great. Highly recommended!

I had a sad experience here. My identity was not verified at the time of reservation (cancellation will be done automatically), and I supposed to book another one but they said it was okay to cancel but you should pay 20 AUD$ and without informing 100 dollars was deducted. Moreover they didn’t return one of my bag without my payment of the full amount. This series of responses made me feel very uncomfortable.

Exceptional value for money. Very clean and professional. Well set up for travellers. The only downside is the shared bathroom but the bathroom is clean and modern and easy to access. There is a shared kitchen and common area and the room itself is very comfortable . I would stay here again.

Kookaburra Inn is a quirky but loveable place. It is unbeatable value - especially as it is so close to the centre of town. I stayed 5 nights here and thoroughly enjoyed myself. My room, though simply furnished, was comfortable and had everything I needed, including excellent Wi-Fi and aircon. The shared bathrooms were no problem. Everything is very clean and well-maintained. The guys who run it are terrific and go out of their way to make guests feel welcome. Highly recommmended.

The manager, Sean, is super friendly and helpful. He's the most friendly hotel manager that I met in Australia over than past 8 years. The basin in the room is definitely a plus especially during the COVID period. The location is not bad, walking distance to the city.

Our experience here was very confusing. The reviews are generally positive, so we were surpirised when the manager was quite rude towards us, which is only one of the communication issues that we experienced here. Staff does not seem to agree with how things go there. One employee can say one thing, and the other might say the complete opposite, which led to some pretty frustrating situations regarding check in and lengthening our stay. The manager seems to be painfully aware of this, so I wonder why it kept happening. The lady was very kind and we were grateful for her help but we decided not to lengthen our stay because of the aforementioned issues. It made our first days in Brisbane very stressful.

Room was compact but clean . Washbasin in room had been broken and patched up why not replace ? A communal lounge with TV had been advertised but no longer existed Needs to be adjusted on website Shower room had no hooks to hang clothing Appears more of a boarding house accommodation, other residents friendly and pleasant Location good, hilly but benefitted from the exercise!

A month ago, I fractured my ankle. However, Stephen from the hostel was there. He was incredibly nice, and thoughtful. He made sure I was doing ok, as this was a very painful injury, so I just want to make sure he knows I will forever be thankful for what he did, and for helping me on that occasion. Stephen, you rock! With regard to the hostel, it was quiet, clean and comfortable. Having a fridge and aircon are always a plus and even though there is street parking, it was pretty safe and had no issues about it. Location is awesome, so I would definitely recommend this place. 

I wish I knew about this place before!! Thank staff is so friendly and kind, couldn't choose better. The room was very clean and comfortable. There are some facilities like a kitchen, dining room, many bathrooms with showers available, etc Is very close to the city so you don't even need the bus, it takes around 15 min walking to get there so this is a plus! Thank you guys for everything. I'll see you on my next visit to Brisbane😊

The room was not what it appeared in the photos, it was quite dirty and well, it is a hostel I didn't expect much either but it is expensive for what I found there. Little bit disappointed.

I have stayed at several motels in Brisbane due to having a triple by pass carried out ,I am back in Brisbane from Emerald to have plastic surgery on my sternum as it has broken into 2 pieces, and without question this would be the worst motel in Brisbane the rooms are tiny no television in rooms and community toilets and kitchen with utensils that are disgusting the place is that old and in need of a full renovation, so please do yourself a favour and find else where to stay, oh the staff are friendly enough the only positive thing to say about the place, so if you are booking for hospital travel go elsewhere 😒 I am by no means a snob but to even have to buy your own water from them at a increased price is ridiculous 😒 and they wouldn't give a refund once we found out how bad the place was after being her for 5 minutes ,shame on you management

Great place! All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful! The place is in a good location, clean, quiet, good shower, walkable for sightseeing, food and shopping. Has a nice outdoor area. The inn is well maintained. If visiting Brisbane again, definitely staying here!

i needed reasonably priced accommodation in Brisbane when my sister was hospitalised. Stephen and Sean made me welcome and were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The rooms are old but clean and the bathrooms and kitchens were always clean as well. If you are looking for a bed in a central location at a reasonable price, I recommend the Kookaburra Inn

The rooms and amenities are modest but very comfortable. The management is polite and easy to contact. They let us keep their luggage behind the desk after we had checked out, which was a big help for that day.

Best place to stay In Brisbane for sure. Sean the manager, is the nicest, most accommodating person I have ever met in the tourism industry and deserves an award! The other woman working there was just as nice and helped me carry my giant suitcase up the stairs. This place is incredibly well run, everything is clean and convenient and the rooms have comfy beds and strong AC. It's an amazing value for the price. I slept more soundly than ever.

Dissapointed in managment I booked in charged $95 for 1st night said I will stay 2 nights. They increased the price to $104 I objected they then dropped it to $99. Place is Budget accomadation it's comfy but very old. Needs some money spent on exterior lighting. Nearly broke my ankle going down stairs at night. Bed OK very small rooms. Shower OK. The place is a Rabbit Warren where ever there is space they have been able to put a room. Place looks small but about 30 rooms there. Share kitchens and Bathrooms. Yes they have Laundry facilities. Parking is in the street you pay Motel for a Council pass. $6. Place is OK for short stay.

Signs around all talking about being caring and respectful of others staying. Sean is a delight. Rooms, kitchens and bathrooms all clean. A few too many steps for my liking, but this is hilly Brisbane. Regulars are friendly and helpful. Walking distance of city centre. Will be my accomodation of choice when in Brisbane.

This place was quiet, clean, comfy and affordable! The set up is similar to a hostel with a kitchen and shared bathroom (sinks in each room though), but the mood is similar to a B&B or motel (quiet and safe). Parking is on the street, but the location is ideal and the inn was great for my partner and I traveling through on a budget.

Stayed here 4 times now and it’s always great. Aircon in the rooms Really really clean. Wifi that actually works well unlike a lot of other motels. Will stay here next time in Brisbane.

Good quiet location but close to Chinatown and Centre. Simple but useful kitchen and nice to have a single room. Sean was very helpful.
