Great little cycle path, v flat so good for all fitness levels a couple of rough tracks off it to explore too. Not real mountain biking, more of a Sunday or family ride. Lots of birds to spot and some great scenic photo ops

This is a great little spot, and if you take a loaf of bread with you to feed the fish. When you get to the middle platform, over the water is the best spot. Heaps of Bream there. Also, find high tide is the best as the water is all under the path, clear water and lots of fish roaming around.

Came here on a whim and had a marvelous time walking through the wetlands. Saw an array of birds and plant life and enjoyed the information plaques along the walk. Incredibly peaceful.

A fantastic place to take your dog for a walk on leash. Plenty of wildlife and a great place for photographers. There’s a small circular track (about 2 km) and a larger route (8 km round trip) in addition to cycle and canoe routes. We saw some tawny frogmouths and plenty of large spiders in their webs. The path is marked and suitable for strollers and wheelchairs.

The new visitor centre is amazing. Interactive learning and games for the kids, the wetlands walk is easy and achievable by all fitness levels, the visitor centre has a check list/brochure and colouring in of things to find on your walk that the kids loved to do. There is also sunscreen and insect repellent available if you forget to bring your own and you WILL need the latter. Picnic tables are available so bring some lunch and make a morning/afternoon out of your trip.

Went on a little walk here with my partner. It was incredible, the water is so gorgeous and the mangroves are gorgeous too especially on a sunny day! The walk is pretty easy, definitely don't need a lot of hiking experience, it's all on a path, sometimes bits of the path can get covered in water. We did the 2km path, but there is a longer trail for people wanting to walk more 😊

What a perfect day. Temp was just a tad cooler at the wetlands Insect spray, just in case. SPF50+. Hat. Sunnies. Picnic. Check. I sat and painted the beautiful serenity here for around 3+ hours. The trees were stunning in their McCubbin-esque beauty. Quintessential Australian bushland setting. There were oldies perambulating, birdwatchers trying to catch a glimpse of a curlew or a kingfisher, and kids on bikes and scooters, oh and ofcourse cyclists++ A perfect day.

Really a nice bike route in a very interesting place from a naturalistic and environmental point of view. Many mangroves and birds. Places like this must be preserved and the environmental centre is doing it well. It's a great route to take to see the Nudgee Beach Reserve and the walk.

Small reserve, but looks well maintained. Environment centre entertaining. Bird hide clean, in good condition. Had some big blue jellyfish swimming in the water which was pretty cool to see.

Good short easy walking track leading to water/river where there's a birdhide to watch shorebirds. The environment centre staff are lovely to talk to and to get tips from. There are mozzies and midgies so apply some insect repellant at the centre ( was available for free).

I went there just see what it was about, had a 30 minute walk, shady the whole way, saw quite a few birds, and a water dragon lizard, and a massive red belly black snake. Needless to say I loved my quick trip. Take your kids they will like it too.

If you're a birder in Brisbane you probably already know about this place. It's number 1 on eBird for a reason! If you're not a bird nerd this is still a really gorgeous walk with beautiful scenery and animals aplenty! Easy walk, well maintained tracks and well worth spending a few hours at!

Great spot for a walk over flatland with views of the mangroves. The information centre is well equipped with information about the wetlands and also has toilet facilities open to public even when the centre is closed. Pets are allowed on a leash and clearly marked on the track. There is a 8kms return track which goes to Nudgee Road.

Fabulous walk or bike ride. Tranquil except for the noisy motorway closeby. Green and wet. Beautiful scenery. Relaxing.

Good displays, informative, fun hands-on activities for kids. Lacks the rustic character of the previous “museum” with tanks, taxidermy specimens. Some overhead forest or sails in the new displays would create atmosphere IMO. Walking circuit yielded Tawny Frogmouth family, sea birds, amphibians; nice!

A great place to see the seasonal variation in Brisbane bird life. The interpretation centre also adds the visit.

You could take a short or long walk outdoor in the nature. You could also play indoor with interactive games. Perfect for kids to learn about nature.

A very nice and modern information centre with heaps to see and learn. The air conditioning is so great on a hot day. The staff are very knowledgeable. Be sure to ask them what guided walks and activities are on in the reserve.

Lots of great birding here. A nice little trail that goes through many different types of habitats. Well maintained trails, clean restrooms, and a lot of information available

  • 5/5 Billie L. 9 months ago on Google
A fantastic place to walk a dog, cycle with kids or quietly walk alone with nature. Take the chance to photograph some migratory birds or see a kangaroo before all the surrounding areas overdevelopment means that the wildlife is no longer sustainable. The environment educational centre is a must do and the school holiday activities are always a winner with the kids. Go and see a tiny piece of green space and be inspired to try and make your yard a part of the must needed green corridors to keep our amazing wildlife alive.

Boondall Wetland is a great place for a scenic walk over flat terrain with lovely mangrove views. The information center is well-equipped and even has accessible public restrooms. You can bring your leashed pets along.

Recently the water was turned into pink colour. When weather and water conditions are just right, the algae produces pink or red cartenoids (basically a filter, like a pair of sunglasses, to protect their chlorophyll cells and help photosynthesis) which give the lake its pink colour.

  • 4/5 Naum A. 7 months ago on Google
Nice walk. It's even better for a bike. Not much shade for walk to the pink lake

  • 5/5 R V. 3 years ago on Google
A delightful place for a flat, easy 2 kilometre walk through a variety of wetland environments, but predominantly casuarina (she - oak) open forest. The pathway, comprises smooth decomposed granite gravel or wooden boardwalk, making it wheelchair friendly. Make sure you detour across the boardwalk to the bird-hide for views up Nundah Creek and across Cabbage Tree Creek to the Shorncliffe boat ramp and marina. Take drinking water with you on a hot day: I sufficed with a stop at the drinking fountain (drinking dribble!) at the start of the walk before and after. There are also a couple of very short walks and the long bike path to Nudgee Beach. Even in the late morning, there was a considerable amount of bird life to see and despite not being into wildlife photography, I was happy with the photos I took!

Bring bug spray, even for your dog. They've been spraying the area but we still got a few. Lovely walking track, a little muddy in a couple spots but it rained recently.

The Boondall wetlands is a great walk for young families with a 2km circuit. There is a 8km track/bike path too, but I haven't gone that way. The environment centre is educational, fun and very welcoming. They have special days where they have free courses, the ones I've been to they were educational and interesting and the whole family had a good time.

Love taking my two pups for walks here. We are here most days of the week. Love having access to water and toilets while on a big walk. All other walkers are polite and not had any issues with off leash dogs so this is a favourite place for me!

Wheelchair friendly, partly shaded for most of the 2km circuit walk except for the short walk out to the bird watching facility (no shade at all). Family friendly and very well maintained. Thanks BBC for continuing to keep Boondall Wetlands a great environment

Super easy 2km loop with a flat path (compacted and boardwalk). Great bird lookout to spy on water birds. On Leash Doggo friendly! Toilets on site and a lovely picnic area.

A great place to take the kids for a nature walk. The mid-week Bush Kindy is awesome for the little ones too. Just need to remember the insect repellent for the mozzies.

  • 4/5 Claire A. 3 years ago on Google
Good tracks for walking and cycling. Short or long walks on flat tracks. Birdhide good. Be nice to have coloured photos of birds instead of black and white to help public with identification. Saw mangrove gerygone at the hide and a pelican. Education centre and toilers closed on public holiday. Would appreciate toilets after a long cycle.

Friendly staff, nice facilities, great walking tracks and lots of wildlife to see, especially if you are quiet. Please keep bikes off of the walking tracks. Combine with a visit to Nudgee Beach or a walk around the Entertainment Centre.

Beautiful place. Walk is only 2k's but lovely and peaceful.

  • 5/5 Vanessa B. 3 years ago on Google
The new environmental centre has a bunch of informative interactive displays (many of which were locked due to covid regulations when we visited). We did the children's track, it's supposed to take about half an hour. We took closer to an hour and a half due to eating lunch and the toddler wanting to push our beach wagon instead of walking or riding in it. The track was nicely compacted and had only a few muddy spots, still usable by prams.

  • 4/5 Roshan S. 3 years ago on Google
Cycle track as well as running track. Bird views and good quick time spend location

  • 5/5 Jim C. 3 years ago on Google
The Environment Centre is relatively new and has an impressive range of information boards on plants, birds and animals to be found in the wetlands. For me it would be even better if they had a bit more detailed information - one of my hobbies is observing what plants grow where, when they flower etc - but not everyone shares my interest. What it offers is good. I enjoy the approx 2km wetland walk and people tell me the bird hide are good - I don't have the patience to wait around for birds to show up.
