This place is great if you're a backpacker of the dirty European variety whose goal is to find themselves in Australia and really experience what it's like being in Brisbane by having beers with people you hardly know in some filthy backyard in a place that should probably be burnt down. The double bed in the private dorm was pretty uncomfortable, all the sheets were stained, doors everywhere were rotting away at the corners or had been eaten by rats, the shower was at least hot with good pressure but was in a small closed room with no vents and the lights didn't work in the toilets. I ventured into the kitchen in the morning to fill up my water bottle, was very glad I hadn't planned to cook or eat there as it was horribly disorganised, dirty dishes everywhere, and cooking utilities pretty gross. I didn't feel safe leaving possessions locked in my own room. There was also no manager or on site staff overnight, was very loud with traffic out the front and other guests were a bit loud, with no manager I worry things could get rowdy.

Dirty kitchen. Managers get annoyed if any noise even on weekends at 10pm. Barely a chill out area. Very small, cramped rooms. Cheap, but would spend couple dollars extra on a better hostel. Say they have Netflix and PlayStation but neither work.

Quite possibly the worst hostel I've ever seen, full of boring old people, kitchens terrible, rooms smell, bathroom isn't great. Terrible location and even though it's cheap, I'd spend the extra few dollars on somewhere that isn't so bad.

The worst place I've ever been... what a shame ! Everything is dirty there. I found leafs, cigarrette butts, beers, animal and dirty bed sheet in the room. The common parts are dirty too. The shower haven't been cleaned in 2nights, and was really dirty... Dont go there, please. The owner gonna tell you to leave if you are not happy. I would never recommended a place like this... cheap (it's not cheap by the way) doesn't mean dirty !!!!

Good location, near to shops/bars/trains and the price was reasonable for a private room. However it's rundown & very basic. The shower (although powerful) was dirty and leaking. The beds/bedding are old and need replacing. Needs an update and better facilities.

Sometimes the best things in life are broken & imperfect. This place is like that. It's an hostel, it's not pretending to be the Hitlon or Trump Tower. It's cheap, close to everything, secure, friendly ...and there's this mad happy blue haired chick at the front with a sense of humour!!! Win - win!!!

A big shout out to Mark for helping sort out our free car parking out the back. We needed a cheap backpacker hostel in Brisbane and this location was so much better than what we expected. There is a garden out the back and if you are lucky the possums and wildlife will come and say hello! It like a big queen slander share house but done up perfectly for backpackers.

Love the improvements to the rooms , stayed here a long time ago and still got a great feel about it. Super casual and cheap for short stays in Brisbane.

I don't know if the hostel still requires passport but under Australian law backpacker hostels have no legal right to discriminate on the basis of age or nationality. Those over 35 years old have perfect right to stay in the dorm rooms. Requiring an international passport to check in is neither honest nor legal.

This place is filthy, even for the price. They lack pretty much of everything basic. They have no kitchen towels, no mugs for coffee, and when asked why, manager said "because people will steal them". The toilets and showers are disgusting, the sink is disgusting and hardly usable. You'll find boogers on the walls here and there. They have no lockers, in my room not even a nail to hang a coat. Beds are bent and noisy. Basically the whole place is just begging to fall apart.

This place is amazing! If I would give 6 stars if I could. The staff are friendly and helpful, the owner is a legend and the guests are so much fun! I would happily live here. I can see how it isn't everybody's cup of tea, but it certainly was mine. I will definitely be back.

We stayed in a double room which was large and functional. Price was fairly good. Staff and guests were quite friendly. Just the wifi could be faster.

I stayed here for 6 weeks, the owners are very nice people and always happy too answer questions. It has a very relaxing feel compared to other hostels in brisbane plus it's one of the cheapest. I suppose the only negative is 90% of the people staying there were german and they were pretty much living there so newcomers could feel a bit isolated.

Cheap and easy, not the best looking place but you're not paying much. And it's nice compared to alot of backpackers.

The rooms are pretty average plus the place is abit untidy but overall the staff are friendly but its not operating much the reception desk.

A badly organized place, the office is never opened except the first day we arrived. People were smoking weeds right in the living room. The kitchen was a mess with all dirty dishes, leftover food.

(Translated by Google) Crumbling and dirty structure. Not recommended. 2 stars only because the guy at the reception was very nice. (Original) Struttura cadente e sporca. Sconsigliato. 2 stelle solo perché il ragazzo alla reception è stato molto gentile.

Very friendly staff and guests. Really great room for the price (TV, air con, bathroom). Definitely the nicest place for the price.

(Translated by Google) This place is an abandoned house taken by hypies. There is never anyone in reception, it is dirty and the mattresses are so old that the springs are stuck in the body. The street is noisy. (Original) Este lugar es una casa abandonada tomada por hypies. Nunca hay nadie en recepción, es sucio y los colchones son tan viejos que los resortes se clavan en el cuerpo. For the price maybe ok.

One of the dirtiest most unpleasant places I have ever stayed. Given a filthy strained towel and when asked for a replacement the American 'receptionist' had a hissy fit. Room was dirty, dusty and unpleasant. Avoid.

This place is the BEST in Brisbane. CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP. Staff are super friendly, the guests are from all over the world and make for a really fun time to hang out with. I've made some friends and Blue Tongue Backpackers are really to thank for that!! THANKS GUYS!! <3

(Translated by Google) Hostel to avoid !!! It's very old, worn out, dirty! For example, the cupboards for storing things are filled with pieces of crisps! The common areas are tiny. And no security; people leave the doors of the rooms open, the doors do not close properly and the supposedly secure parking is the meeting point for thieves who take pleasure in robbing cars (the cameras in the parking lot do not work, they are there for the decoration). Added to this, the reception and help of the staff leaves much to be desired (Original) Auberge à éviter !!!

I always stay here when visiting Brisbane purely because of the location and free parking.

Been here four times now and always been happy, its been cheap and staff has been friendly so we decided to stay for a week before we moved into our new apartment. Unfortunately a bit disappointed since the place were not properly looked after during the week (toilets downstairs where out of paper for the whole weekend and one was blocked, shower were just.... dirty. It was like the downstairs of the hostel was just ignored). Bins overfull and dishes piling up in the kitchen. Great location though, still quite cheap for a double room ($50/night), an okay place for a night or so. Would come again but there are definitely stuff that can be looked after better.

Atrocious. Rats running around the kitchen, unisex dorms, no barriers on the beds, the insane noise. Can't belive this place hasn't been shut down. The woman who "runs" it is a complete lunatic as well.

Room noisy due to being near the busy street. Kitchen needs reforming and the Chilean girl working there did not clean enough and seemed not to care about anything.

It's the best location in Brisbane. Supermarket is across the road, and near public transport. The hostel is like a sharehouse, with wonderful staff, and like your home away from home. I would definitely stay here again :-)

Pretty cheap - the rooms downstairs look like minimalistic prison cells though :D the rooms at the big road are pretty Loud but other than that it was fine. Nice staff!
