If you’re looking for fast friendly service with a menu that is priced according to pictures of meals. Then look no further. This place suits travellers or individuals on a tight budget that needs a nutritional meal to kick start your day. You don’t need to spend a fortune to fill your belly and this place proves that. Meals are not overly large in size hence the pricing but it does create the start to the day which we all need at times and it won’t burn a whole on your wallet for those who are frugal or can’t afford lavish styled cafes. Coffee isn’t all that bad either for the price you pay, although I’ve had better coffees elsewhere. If you’ve got a large family with lots of children and you won’t to at least offer your kids something on a tight budget then this place may just service that need. Don’t knock it till you try it. Some of the cafes around Southbank can be overpriced for what’s the food and service is worth. So don’t look past this place of you want to save money and still dine out.

I ordered a small snack that was $3 on the sign. The Lady then said it was 13$ so i assumed the 1 had come off the sign and payed 13. When my food came out it was the wrong thing. I specifically asked for the thing i wanted and was given something different.

Worst Cafe I have ever been too. After ordering we asked a member of staff to fill our water bottle as my daughter was feeling dehydrated from the hot day of playing in South Bank. NO was the answer! NO? In case she gets sick.... seriously? I just wanted the same water going into the coffee machine.... the coffee cups didn't have warnings like a packet of cigarettes.... greedy people.

Food was terrible chips were black and grey inside. The fish was black in places which you could only see once the batter fell away. Eat somewhere else the quality of food is the worst I have seen in a really long time.

Overpriced food and mini burger looked like a miniature food and coffees were terrible with cups were so dirty.(hyginecally disgusting too) Never will go there

Called in again for another quick lunch on the way to a show. Had another bacon and egg roll. Very nice . My wife had fish and chips also very nice . Good service Good food at a good price.

Good food, good location good service. When you spend $80 on lunch and drinks then have to buy a squirt of sauce in a sachet.... yeah nah typical of these foreign owned places. You all know which type😑

This is actually a really lovely and inexpensive cafe! We were positively surprised! Food is normal priced and good quality, even coffee was tasty! It's a great spot for the adults to have a feed and watch the kiddies playing in the lagoon at the same time. Can definitely recommend!

If I could give this place 1/2 a star I would! Absolutely absurd with their menu. Ordered Eggs Benedict with ham, Calamari w/chips and a potato scallop for myself and my partner as well as 2 coffee's. Eggs Benedict came out with lettuce rather then spinach and fried eggs rather then poached as advertised on their menu! Calamari, chips and potato scallop was barely warm enough to be cooked through and so full of dirty oil it stunk. Coffee wasn't that great either. When the person who brought out the food was asked why it was made incorrectly we were told that this is how it's made. Absolute joke! The staff were rude and were not keen on refunding us for our meals only did so after I said I will take legal action as I'm entitled to a refund if my order wasn't what I paid for. Will never return and will never recommend to others unless ownership is changed and someone who knows how to make food properly takes over. Do your self a favour and go elsewhere! The staff are so rude that I'm surprised they are even able to open their doors to trade everyday!

We only had coffee and ice cream, but both were excellent. Nice coffee for a decent price. I have had better coffee but not for $5

It’s cheap but we clearly understand why .. Chicken sandwich, neither sauce nor avocado And sauces for fries are not free

First time there and won't ever go back! Ordered a chicken burger on the weekend and have to say it was the worst one I have ever eaten! The fake chicken patties was dry Af in actual fact the whole thing left me quite parched a bit of Mayo wouldn't have gone astray! The chips were soggy and cold! Definitely woul not recommended

Was a long wait for food and people had to clear their own tables. For such a busy place you would expect better service and more people working

We had visitors with us from interstate and wanted to show them our beautiful city but we were embarassed by the extremely poor service at this cafe. If we are going to be showing casing Australia for the Olympics this is not up to standard.

Not bad priced, nice food, cold drinks and friendly staff. All you need with a bunch of kids on a hot day.

Save your money and eat at home or go to literally anywhere else but here. The food is completely overpriced for the quality. For $25 I got a dry BLT which didn't event seem to have butter so forget about mayonnaise. no sauce for the side of chips unless you are willing to pay $1.50 for the priverlage of a 14gram sachet. Pity I couldn't rate no stars.

Food was over priced and not worth the price. Icecreams are really small for the price you pay staff on the day were rude abnoxious and arrogant tables were dirty South bank so overated and expensive.

Cold rock was shut and thank goodness, this placed served the best ice cream. I have had ice cream from all over Australia and this has got to be up there. The staff were friendly and great. Will visit again when I'm back up in Brisbane.

Ok compared to others close by. Eggs Benedict were not great. Thick shake was a little thin but very nice. Service was quick and good.

Went to this cafe thinking it would be nice to sit & eat, Food is terrible do not waste your money in fish is hard as cardboard , asked the waiter if the fish is fresh he said yes, well it wasnt . it was terrible the kids meal also uneddible as well rip off never going there again asked at the counter for a vegetarian burger didnt receive it never ever eating there again . be warned

Excellent service. Owner and staff are very efficient. Food and pricing excellent. Best value breakfast in the area. Highly recommended. I can't understand the negative comments. I have used this cafe numerous times and yes sometimes there is a wait time but that is because the staff are BUSY ! I think they do a great job. Never had any problems. Perhaps some of the negativity is from competition businesses. As for the comment that a BLT was $25......try $11 and delicious. Keep up the good work Cafe Lagoonas. 😎

Literally the worst breakfast/ lunch ever, don’t come here trust me. I have never left a google review before but there’s a first for everything. I ordered the veggie burger and it was literally a shop bought patty with no sauce even though it said there was aioli on the menu, and when i asked about it the man working there said “open the burger” when there was the tiniest bit of sauce. Rude and bad food.

Stand in line and order your food. Then sit back and watch everyone who ordered after you, get their food well before you. The extra 10% charged on a public holiday merely rubs salt into the wound, they're more than happy to take your money, after that they don't really seem to care if you get your food or not. Stay clear

Rat ran out of the kitchen into customers it is horrible service they didn't even care when the rat ran out like it was a normal for them to see that happening.
