I am now seven weeks post-surgery, having had a Reverse Total Shoulder Replacement performed by Dr Kenneth Cutbush. Being a retired consultant anaesthetist, I have worked with many surgeons, orthopaedic specialists included and have seen their work close up. This leaves me particularly well placed to assess the quality of a surgeon and their team. I cannot recommend Ken Cutbush more highly. Not only is he a dedicated and technically excellent surgeon, his explanations and directions to his patients are detailed, exact and written and formatted in a language that all can understand. Nothing is left to chance. His staff (which he has obviously hand-picked) are bright, cheerful, courteous and competent. Nothing is a problem for them, their attitude is always positive and helpful. They compliment Dr Ken Cutbush's work ethic, admirably. From my perspective as a patient, the surgery went perfectly. I had next to no post operative pain, was out of hospital in a sling in two days and by two weeks and one day, I had a greater range of movement with less pain than I had in the months prior to the operation. At seven weeks Post-Op, I can now swim freestyle, something that I had to give up five years ago and, although I still have to wait another five weeks before starting light weight training, I could not be happier with my progress after what is a major and complex procedure. If anyone is looking to have a Reverse Total Shoulder Replacement, look no further. You won't do better than go to Ken Cutbush.

Dr Cutbush gave a comprehensive review of my surgery post op with a video and photographs. I was afforded every opportunity to ask questions and I was made aware of post op requirements. I've had L) & R) Shoulder Rotator Cuff Repair December 2022 & June 2023. Dr Cutbush took time to explain my surgical treatment plan and options, his knowledge, demeanour and ability to connect always put me at ease. I experienced nil to very minimal post operative pain for both procedures. His staff are all very professional, friendly, and extremely helpful ensuring I received particular appointment dates I needed. Dr Cutbush went in to fix my shoulder issues which included detaching and reattaching my bicep tendon. From the outset I was impressed with the whole process. The post surgery care to date as I'm still recovering has been second to none. I really liked the post operative video and take home pack as it left nothing unexplained. Hi Everyone It has been just over 5 weeks since my shoulder surgery and i am so pleased with the outcome. After the first 2 weeks of pain and discomfort i am mostly pain free and have not been pain free for the last 3+ years. I haven't had any pain medication for the last 3 weeks. My husband needed a reverse shoulder replacement after a skiing accident. We were very impressed with the process, starting from the initial consultation with Dr Cutbush, the pre-op instructions and information, the surgery and post-op care & follow-up. Also impressive were the personal videos from Dr Cutbush who is a pleasure to deal with. Dr Cutbush's staff are so organised and pleasant on the phone and in person and they certainly made all the pre-op preparation easy, whilst still being thorough. My name is Gary moore, my consultation with Ken Cutbush about my shoulder blew me away, he found out through MIR scan of a torn rotator cuff, that another surgeon didn’t tell me,only Bursa problems,nothing about a torn tendon that was 25 to 30mm long.Dr Cutbush is very professional in the work he has done on my shoulder, just over a week from my consultation he operated on my shoulder at St Andrew’s war memorial hospital.The staff and everyone was absolutely wonderful, only had to stay overnight,but very thankful for there professionalism. Dr Cutbush ,I like to thank him very much,no more pain,had it for years ,would had have a dozen cortisone in it,and now it’s fixed properly.I have other shoulder to do down the track,and I will be getting Dr Cutbush to do that one two. I recently had shoulder replacement surgery done at the Brisbane Private Hospital. About 7 years ago in a workplace mishap I severely injured my right shoulder rotator cuff and my local GP referred me to Dr Kenneth Cutbush in Brisbane. After an MRI I was diagnosed with having both my supraspinatus and subscapularis tendons snapped in two along with bicep damage. Dr Cutbush explained in a clear and precise way what was damaged and the anticipated recovery schedule once operated on . Dr Cutbush then preformed my operation a few weeks later. After my shoulder had healed (with an excellent outcome) I found his anticipated repair times to be fairly accurate. Moving on, a few months ago I found myself needing a similar type of surgery on my other shoulder, I had no hesitation in asking my local GP to refer me to Dr Cutbush to repair this shoulder after my original operation's success. Dr Cutbush has recently operated on it and at this stage everything seems to be travelling ok. As I come from out of town I found his office easy to access by way of leaving my car at Ipswich railway station and catching the train to Roma St and from there it was a short walk to the Brisbane Private Hospital (from which his office is within). As his operations are performed from the same hospital, you will find easy motel accommodation at "the Metro Hotel Tower Mill' only 50mtrs away. I would definently recommend Dr Cutbush to anyone who wants the job done properly right from the word go. Thankyou Ken and staff, and if I ever need another operation I know that I shall be requesting you.

I had shoulder surgery to repair 2 rotator cuff tears and my AC joint. It was quite painful and my strength deteriorated significantly. Since the surgery, I am over 90% in both range of motion and strength. And getting better. More importantly pain free. Slow process but this was explained prior. Dr Cutbush and staff, I couldn’t recommend any more highly.

Dr Cutbush is extremely knowledgeable & efficient, who gave concise explanations of the best options I had available to achieve maximum results for my constantly dislocating shoulder. Very friendly and efficient staff who ensure that you are 100% informed from initial contact to post operative care. If you're looking for the best shoulder surgeon, Ken's your man! I first met Dr Kenneth Cutbush in November 2020 seeking a 2nd opinion for my shoulder instability. He performed surgery on my right shoulder in January, 2021 and my left shoulder in September 2021. I cannot speak highly enough of the professionalism and compassion that Dr Cutbush and his staff showed throughout the process and I particularly loved the video post surgery explaining the procedure. I could not be happier with the results that I have achieved following surgery on my right shoulder, from constant pain to no pain at all. The outcome has well and truly exceeded my expectations. I am not quite 6 months post surgery on my left shoulder and although it is still tight, I'm expecting a slightly longer recovery but a very similar result.
