I still can't believe how easy it was to under go my eye operation on both eyes to remove cataracts and have bifocals lenses fitted. Being a little nervous at first about the operation, I need not have been. Had LASIK through Dr David Gunn and his team. Approachable and down to earth team. His anaesthetist who’s name I cannot recall was awesome, gave me one the best anaesthetics I’ve experienced. Dr Gunn is very approachable and easy to talk to. He gives handouts to explain the procedure, as well as some explanation at the time of consultation. I was referred to Dr Gunn for a second opinion by an optometrist friend. Undergoing eye surgery, like any surgery) isn't for the faint hearted and I was a nervous wreck about it. From the first to the last appointment, David and his staff have been phenomenal. I cannot recommend Dr David Gunn more highly. I had my Pterygiums on both eyes done prior to Cateract Surgery with Lens Replacement. Best money I have ever spent. No regrets, I now have near perfect vision. This is coming after wearing coke bottle thick glasses, thinned down by seven, tri-vocals for most of my life. I wanted to be glasses free & now I am. Dr Gunns beside manner is impeccable, he genuinely cares about his patients, their lives & circumstances, as well as the procedures he performs. My Husband went through a quadruple bypass after suffering a severe heart attack & through this time, having to postpone my second Surgeries ( Lens Replacement ) I found Dr Gunn to be so very supportive of my circumstances. I also suffer severe Anxiety. I went through the first Surgery ( Pterygium ) highly anxious, but he made sure 100 % that I was doing well, before, after & post op that I was doing well. The last appointment he still asked “ How I was doing ? “ & told me he had checked each time to see how I’d come through. Now that’s genuine concern & empathy for his patients. I breezed through the last three ops like a pro because of him, the nurses, anesthetist’s the hospital, I cannot fault the whole experience. I had recent cataract surgery on both eyes. Prior to surgery I received a comprehensive written and verbal explanation regarding the procedure, expected outcomes and risks. Even though the risks are minimal, they are there. The treatment was very professional and friendly. The outcome exceeded my expectations. I was informed that I will still need reading glasses, but I can manage well without them. Distance vision is extremely good. I would recommend Dr Gunn at any time.

I had lens implants in both eyes and I’m very happy with the results. David recommended mono vision lenses to suit my lifestyle. David and his team are friendly, professional, knowledgeable and efficient. If for some reason you have a few months wait to see him, he’s worthwhile waiting to see.

On 2 and 3 June 2022, Dr David Gunn, Ophthalmologist and Eye Surgeon from the Queensland Eye Institute operated on my eyes to remove cataracts on each eye and he replaced my natural lenses with new artificial intraocular lenses. My operations were successful and I can read perfectly now without the aid of glasses. Dr Gunn was recommended to me, and I would agree that he’s knowledgeable, innovative and approachable. His office and hospital staff were all efficient and helpful. In addition, the Queensland Eye Institute is accessible, clean and has a considerable amount of modern eye testing equipment. Dr Gunn took great interest in providing me with the best possible solution to suit my active lifestyle. Having a cataract at a reasonably young age, it required a slightly different approach to IOL choice. His care following the procedure and in the follow up appointment was incredible. Fantastic experience with ICL, From the start I felt comfortable with the level of detail Dr David Gunn's clinic was going into everything and providing me with detailed information eye scans and my individual requirements. When it came time for the surgery all staff were extremely professional and helping with my nervousness.
