    I was a member here in which I paid 6 months upfront, I loved working out here and got 3 of my other friends to sign up with me. My membership expired on Boxing Day and because I work in retail I couldn't get in until the following week. I was asked to pay a $50 joining fee which made no sense since I was a member and willing to sign up again because of the convenience since I lived near by...but to ask a returning member who's membership only expired for a week to pay a rejoining fee is what really disappointed me! 3 of those friends will now also be cancelling their memberships once their contract is up. There is zero incentive to return to this gym for existing members unless you are signing a fixed contract. I really liked this gym but the management side of things is what lets it down, especially when every other gym at the time was offering a no joining fee, but to ask a returning member to pay a rejoining fee is extremely offensive...its not about the $50 its about the principle...not to mention lately some parts of the gym have not been cleaned in ages...the sauna had a dead cockroach the other day. Nonetheless you have lost a member for life..not sure what. the approach is with AJ's in terms of keeping existing members to come. Some staff have been wonderful so I will say thank you to them, its just the management in my opinion. I have 8 years management experience and have a management degree myself so I do have knowledge of the different styles..but this is not going to keep members resigning up again. It is what it is, but it left a bad taste in my mouth for sure. I don't normally ever leave bad reviews but I had to voice my frustration.

    At end of 2021, my kids was attended in this swim school they were assessed for completion of their current level and got assigned to higher level. However the lesson was fully booked and staff couldn’t provide us with another suitable lesson. All the sudden they got Covid confirmed case so they closed for sanitising and then they closed for holiday until February 2022 reopened again. We didn’t received any phone contacts to book for new lessons. And I didn’t realise it’s a commitment even if you didn’t book for a lesson you still need to pay for membership as this wasn’t been told when I signed contract. Until yesterday I found my bank account has been charged for 3 fortnight payments for two kids and two lessons per week I got charged $360. I wanted to stop the payment and they informed me that’s under membership contract so cancellation will need 30 days notice period, which means ongoing payment will be continued. PLEASE CONSIDER CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU JOINING THIS SWIM SCHOOL. Unreasonable contract terms and reception are always busy, all the parents I knew they were confused with their booking systems.

    Absolute nightmare for a swim school!! A bunch of extortionists sitting there making you run for the money. After enrolling for the lessons, my son got a ear condition that puts him at risk of swimming and ended up requesting 6 months of hold on lessons on medical certificate. They had me in a lock in contract. According to them, the maximum leave they could provide for a student is maximum 3 months which we had already utilised. When I approached them, requesting another 3 months, the receptionist became a better judge of my son's condition than his doctor. Quote 'an ear infection won't require three months to get better.' Ended up paying the entire payment for 3 months, note that he had taken up only one lesson during this whole ordeal since he started getting back to back ear infections. Absolutely unprofessional and unkind and lacks any compassion. Faced a whole lot of issues to sort out their payment issues and caused me a lot of mental stress for the classes he had never even attended. Never even think about signing one of their contracts. It's a bloody trap!! Some people will go to any extent these days for the sake of money.

    I would give minus stars if possible. If you have children do not send them to the creche at ajs. The lady that's on in the morning is rude and treats the kids like there nothing. I have witnessed disgusting behaviour. I then complained to management he has know since Wednesday morning that kids are being neglected in the creche including mine and other members children. He has chosen to do nothing about it until Monday. I have emails proving all of this and full of lies and absaloute rubbish telling me I'm not allowed to cancel my membership etc. They also have a report in with ACCC as the manager refuses to cancel my membership I've also handed in a medical certificate stating the creche is not suitable due to staff and still no confirmation of cancellation. This place is disgusting. No morals what so ever. All about $$$

    Generally a great centre with attentive and dedicated staff. My kids love going there, and their constant improvement in their swimming abilities is a testament to the professionalism of the people who work there.

    Swam, competed and represented AJS myself as a child through the late 80's till 2000's. Moved to the area and decided to put my youngest in learn to swim based of my fantastic experiences. On enquiry was told "no contract" but they prefer direct debit. Have been trying to cancel my daughter for several months now due to winter and her lack of interest, amounts continue to be debited, even though she's not swimming and was advised if I wish to cancel completely it takes 30 days finalise. Monies will still be debited. I Assumed I would be offered "make up" classes. Then was told as I did not call to say my child wasn't attending I wasn't entitled to make up classes, they still take the money. My child does not want to attend. So I'm being forced to pay for nothing. My experiences with the gym have been the same which is very dissaponting. Their prices are excessive. Sadly, do no recommend at all.

    Very old equipment, definitely not the largest gym with newest equipment like the website falsely states. Majority of cardio equipment was always unserviceable. Very overpriced for what you get. Doesn’t seem to be managed too well at all, great area to have a good member base if they better maintained the facility.

    Very unprofessional management. We cancelled our membership in April but because it was a lock in contract it didn’t finish until November. We still signed the form to avoid the 30day notice Now it’s November and we are still getting charged. We called them up and they said they couldn’t find the form and have to fill out a new one and still get charged the 30day notice. Absolutely unprofessional. Unhappy with what you guys have done.

    What a genuine nice front counter clerk (Amanda). On both occasions now I have come into enquire prices, and she is just so nice, genuine and just good to deal with. Always happy to explain any questions and suggest the best membership plans for you to be on. Whoever hired her did a great job at picking someone that people can relate to and create rapport and relationships with customers. Staff can make or break a business. Thanks so much Amanda, hopefully once those 20- percent up front prices are back I will see you soon.

    Very helpful staff. There to watch a swimming lesson for my friend's 22 month old. Great interactions with the little ones & one of the staff even looked after a young boy whose mother was occupied with the swimming lesson for his younger sister 💜. Highly recommend.

    Please upgrade the treds in the womens gym. Why are all the toilets downstairs? Would be great to have some upstairs too. I also agree with the reviews on the pools. It’s always too busy with little kids jumping in, splashing everywhere and utilising the big indoor pool for swim school. Tad bit annoying. And please don’t tell me to email whoever this is my feedback thank you.

    Friendly staffs. I love AJ’s swim school, there is one lady called Jade at swim reception. She remembers all kid’s names, friendly and nice smile all the time. She always understands my situation and quickly to organize things which are make-up lesson and changing class. I’m appreciated that she has lots patience.

    Today, for the first time this year, I found the most empty pool (indoor pool), to be able to swim in peace, and ALEX comes and takes me out saying that the pool will be closed for 10 MINUTES, which was a complete lie, I came back after almost 20 minutes and they had set up a huge event in the pool, which seems disrespectful to me, the pool is busy with SWIMMING CLASSES, on Saturday it is busy all morning with swimming classes, I really don't understand what the relationship of the swimming school is, since they have an exclusive pool for children, but they also occupy the indoor pool for this. Today I was wondering why they didn't do the event in the pool that isn't covered, and of course because it was COLD!!!! but those of us who pay weekly must go to the cold pool, right? we already have to put up with enough, children with diapers in the pool, people who don't even ask and get in the lines when one is swimming, the water is usually dirty, I always take out garbage and leave it on the shore, children and even adults jumping, making bombs, running and screaming... on top of having to put up with disrespect like this!!! I chose this gym because of the pools, but I think they are abusing the marketing, since one pool is practically cold in autumn, winter and spring, and the other one that we can use is busy. I hope you will be more delicate next time and organize your plans better, since I also organize myself to go to the gym and nobody can waste another person's time. Second thing, why isn't there a women's sauna? And a third thing, I want to leave my congratulations to Kira, Jay, Anthony, Marika always friendly and attentive to our concerns, thanks for that!

    Good facilities but few staff are rude, one of the staff was using abusive language towards me, I made a complain to manager, manager doesn't care. Old management was a couple, they are very kind and friendly, one time my kid and I had a good time with this couple and their kids playing in the hydrotherapy pool, they are happy to share pool toys which they kept in the storage room. I was a frequent visitor since 1992, thanks for ruined my childhood memory the new AJ team, from the last horrible memory I will never go back there. Now I know why people left nasty thing in the steam room, by the way you treating your members.

    I recently visited the sports centre, and regrettably, my experience left much to be desired. It was disheartening to witness some patrons engaging in unsafe behaviour by introducing chemicals to the sauna's heating elements. This not only disrupts the experience for others but also poses a significant hazard. I sincerely hope the management takes swift action to address this concerning issue. It's particularly disappointing to learn that only signage was put up as a response. Furthermore, the lack of proper hygiene practices among certain individuals was quite evident. It's disappointing that some visitors neglect to shower before using the pool, creating discomfort for those who prioritize cleanliness. This aspect significantly detracted from the overall experience. Equally distressing was the state of the changing rooms. It was clear that basic maintenance and hygiene were overlooked, which is disheartening for those expecting a clean and welcoming environment. Additionally, the lack of supervision for children in the pool area while their parents are in the sauna and outdoor pool is a serious safety concern. This poses risks not only to the children themselves but also to other patrons. Overall, this experience has left a sour impression on me. I believe that a concerted effort is needed to address these issues promptly, to ensure a safer, more hygienic, and pleasant experience for all patrons in the future.

    This Sports Centre has so much potential! It’s a shame that it’s not being looked after properly, I hate to say it but it’s dirty and could do with some touch ups. I guess you can tell that it’s just getting really old now…..shame. Staff are super friendly 😊

    I attend for hydrotherapy, it's a great facility, the hydro pool is always clean and a warm temperature. Staff are amazing. Love that I can sauna with the ladies or steam room with other members of the club

    Horrible management and customer service. Requested for cancellation form for two months. Never replied emails and always not picking up calls. Im still waiting for my refund as they overcharge the fees since they told me the money would be refunded.
