I
arranged
to
have
a
Boostrix
booster
as
I
will
soon
be
visiting
my
3
month
old
grandaughter.
I
would
normally
have
had
this
done
by
my
own
doctor
at
Graceville
Medical
Centre
for
$45
for
the
vaccination
and
bulk
billed
for
the
consultation
as
I
am
an
aged
pensioner,
but
could
not
get
an
appointment
with
my
doctor
for
several
days,
so
rang
Sherwood
Family
Medical
Centre
to
see
if
I
could
get
one
sooner.
When
I
rang
the
centre
I
was
told
the
cost
of
the
vaccination
would
be
$65
($20
dearer
than
Graceville),
and
I
would
have
to
have
a
consultation
first.
I
assumed
the
consultation
would
be
bulk
billed
as
it
had
been
in
the
past
for
me
when
I
have
had
Covid
vaccinations
there.
The
Sherwood
doctor
giving
the
consultation
was
very
polite
and
informative,
and
the
nurse
giving
the
vaccination
was
also
polite
and
friendly.
However
when
I
went
to
pay
for
the
vaccination,
I
was
told
I
would
have
to
pay
for
the
consultation
as
well.
($59.75
less
$39.75
Medicare
refund).
So,
I
ended
up
having
to
pay
$85
for
something
I
could
have
had
done
for
$45
at
the
Graceville
centre.
I
knew
that
Sherwood
for
some
reason
charges
$20
more
for
the
same
vaccine,
and
was
prepared
to
pay
the
extra
amount
to
get
it
done
quickly,
but
was
unaware
that
I
would
also
have
to
pay
for
the
consultation.
A
sign
in
the
window
says
the
Sherwood
practice
bulk
bills,
but
apparently
that
only
applies
to
people
over
75
years
of
age.
NOT
happy!
