The store has a great selection of household items and other things. I can’t comment on prices as the only comparison I would have is the US. Using the states as a basis would be unfair. The prices in the BVI are a great deal higher (probably due to shipping and other factors that may affect them). If you’re on a boat and need a selection of shampoos and personal items, it’s a good place to shop. Island Department Store is definitely a “variety” store. The problem we have is their check out process. If you have 3 or 4 people (with full baskets) ahead of you, be prepared to wait in line. For such a nicely laid out store, paying for your items takes more time than it does to shop. It is a very odd system. I wanted to run in there and grab just one item the other day. The people we were with looked at the parking lot and predicted (from experience), that it would take too much time to be checked out! Waiting on line to pay is largely the reason for a three star review.

This is a great place to shop for eveything you might need for your household. The store has a large selection, the prices are affordable and it is very well maintained in terms of cleanliness. The only flaw I can say for certain is that paying for your stuff can take some time especially if there is a large number of customers.

It's a general Store with all the household item you will need. From a spoon to refrigerator or a bathroom mat to a dining room set. It's great shopping.

Great shopping experience. Everything for your home or business found in one place. Well organized and items displayed beautifully. What stood out for me was the kitchen department where different displays are set up to give a customer a general idea of what they would need.

My first time. It's huge with so much variety to choose from. You can get for adults and children. Customer service was awesome. Thanks Ulla the cashier that assisted me.

The store is neatly kept, and they have a variety of things to purchase for the home, business and personal items. This is not a grocery store, but they do have a few things such as bathroom supplies and kitchen supplies. This is not what I would call a tourist place for the most part.
