Superb fish and chips, never been here before, but I am planning a return very soon, charming waiting staff very chatty and polite. The fish was about 10 inches long and cooked fresh, it stayed piping hot until the last bite. Only thing that surprised me was they had a dessert menu..anyone who could eat a dessert after the main meal must be an animal.

Fish and Chips were especially nice. Large Cod was large and with very crispy batter. Tried the Irish curry sauce and prefer it to the normal one. Also sat in the restaurant earlier for a glass of wine and our dogs were welcome.

This is what they gave for chips order, I did not give a mash potato order!

Delicious Evans pie and chips from Franco's today, really fresh and piping hot. Had a lovely sit on a bench overlooking the beach, lush. My first visit and won't be my last now that I know it's also dog friendly. Missed out on the 5 only because of the price. In comparison to other chip shops you are paying a premium, fish on the menu was £8.80 but sure it would be lush if the pie and chips are anything to go by

Excellent friendly service. In fact this equals the very best service that I've had in any restaurant for a very long time. Excellent chips exactly the way that I like. The batter on the fish was lovely and crispy. 4 out of 5 for the fish itself. Update 3/1/24:- Excellent calamari salad starter. Good tarta sauce. My partner's hamburger dish was fine. Unfortunately, my haddock in batter fell well below the standard that I find acceptable. I don't believe that the fish was particularly fresh nor of fine quality. I left nearly half on my plate unfinished and uneaten. I paid good money this evening and I expect better. Sadly, this letdown seems to be the trend in many - once-fine - fish & chip restaurants.

The best resturant in Wales I should say. Chips and Curry are beautiful. They are to DIE for and to savour each one. Service is AWESOME and always reliable. The atmosphere is also beautiful. It feels like your on a beach.

We enjoyed a nice visit to Franco's restaurant. Half the restaurant is dog friendly and the other half is no dogs aloud. The coffee was nice. They actually know the difference between Cappuccino and Latte her. The tea was nice also. We had bangers and mash with peas and gravy. Very enjoyable. Nice, clean facilities. We'll be back.

Dog friendliness is key for me being able to take our dog inside and not being told to sit outside all the waitresses made a fuss of him and the food quality was great even pogz enjoyed his sausages

Absolutely discussed by the size of the meal i made it known to to the staff i paid £13 for half a box witch only had a handfull of chips in a massive box and cold curry sauce i will never be coming again over priced for what you get it appalling for the price you get more in the local burgerking meal was disappointing sorry I bothered they need to give more out . wouldn’t even fill a child's stomach horrible staff i feel like they robed my wallet meal was so small if i wanted a happy meal i would of gone to macldonalds

Very friendly staff and a great selection of food including Veggie options. Located on the beach front gives for some beautiful views, especially when dining in the evening. Small menu for 4 legged friend as well including sausages. (Photo: chips, mushy peas and battered halloumi)

Love this place ,eat inside or out , dogs welcome inside too ,so it's a very relaxed, casual atmosphere . Food is always hot and generous portions , staff are friendly and helpful .decent menus, don't expect nouveau cuisine, just good wholesome food ..my personal favourite battered Halloumi . There is a takeaway chips hope section and in the summer ice cream are sold outside . It can get quite busy for takeaways ,it's very popular .Great views over the beach .

Was very glad that we found this place. Went in for coffee and had a look at the menu. Was pleased to see so many gluten free options. Came back later with friends, we all enjoyed our meal. I had gf cod and chips, the others had steak and stilton pie. Nice setting and ambience, and lovely staff.

Food looked good, with decent portions. Was left waiting on pass for at least 5 minutes, so peas were cold and only the chips under the fish were warm. Very disappointing for the price. I didn't complain as they were very busy and my daughter would have been embarrassed. Just ate what was warm enough. Won't return.

Really nice air conditioned restaurant especially as it was boiling outside. Staff were really friendly and helpful about allergy. My wife & i ordered the Large fish and chips and mushy peas and it was massive. My little one had fish bites chips and corn and she devoured the lot. Prices are reasonable and will def go back

I've been hear before with friends and always enjoyed, but my experience today was epic. Table for one, the view is special from mumbles to the steel works harbour and everything in between. Great service very polite staff, food was quick tasty and very filling, I had a veggie option there's quite a few on the menu. But looking around and I saw meat pies burgers and fish, what a place definitely on my list to visit again.

Visited last Tuesday(20/2/24) with the intention of having food..we were greeted with a lovely welcome and the lady even gave us a blanket for our dogs. While looking at the menu we noticed 2 or 3 women stood behind the counter eating from a jug!( Each had a fork each sharing)😔 one of them then proceeded to make an ice cream without even washing her hands . Put us off eating here immediately.

Nice fish and chips restaraunt/takeaway on the seafront. We sat in and had a table looking out over the sea. It was in the evening, so could see the sunset from there too. The staff were all lovely and helpful. The food was delicious with lots of Gluten free and vegan options available too. They even do gluten free onion rings, which are so rare to come by when eating out! Unfortunately, they were more batter than onion - they were still nice, but could have been made better with thicker slices of onion inside.

A fabulous dog friendly venue. So needed in this area. Us dog owners are year round customers, not just seasonal. Shame other establishments don't catch on as we provide extra income for you all. So nice to be inside in the warmth after a walk on the beach

Loved it. It was my birthday. We walked the dog along the beach front and then visited Francos for a sit down meal. Lovely wholesome and warming food. I am vegan and there were a number of options for me too . Perfect for an autumn evening. The cherry on the cake was being able to have a glass of wine and the dog with us. The only minus was that it was quite expensive for a chip shop meal and for that reason I doubt we will return, at least not for a while. A proper treat though nevertheless and I would recommend to anyone.

Had take away cod and chips here on Saturday, sadly not the best and as with any fish and chip shop these days not cheap either, so expect quality of food to be excellent. Had it not been I'd walked a fair way back onto the beach to eat the food before checking the food I would have taken them back, but admit it's my own fault as should have made the effort. Chips were hardly warm and the Cod was certainly not the tastiest with rather bland tasting batter! Given this is a fish and chip shop so the signature dish should be excellent I won't be making the mistake of giving Franco's a second chance anytime soon if they can't get the basics right. This was just after midday as well so everything you think should have been freshly made👎 Sadly I find us writing more bad reviews than good of eating experiences lately, COVID, Cost of Living, Food prices, Profit Greed, really not sure what is the cause, probably a bit of everything!! but Customers will eventually get fed up of poor service and food quality and the Catering business will only have themselves to blame when we go elsewhere. Time to put the Customers back at the top of the priority list!

Just popped in for lunch. Haddock and chips was good as always. Curry sauce and mushy peas to accompany carried the meal over the finish line.

Went to Francos after just moving to Port Talbot. They gave a mega portion of food considering I only planned to go for lunch .. I believe it is well worth the money and is lovely sitting on Aberavon Beach. My only complaint was that, even though it was cook to perfection and the chips were amazing. After I finished I had a horrible sickly oil taste in my mouth for the rest of the day that was not pleasant.

Very busy, friendly staff with prompt service. The blonde waitress was very friendly and funny. I personally thing it was over priced for what you get, cod was great but the small amount of peas on the side wasn’t enough. Would visit again but more for a take away.

I have travel a lot in UK and this place has the best fish and chips I ever tasted generous dose in cheap price right above the beach of Port Talbot

Lovely setting on the beach front, I went for the curry which was OK - could have done with some more flavours as it didn't really taste as described on the menu. Chips are divine! However, the apple and blackberry crumble was delicious and the staff were very accommodating and welcoming.

I hot like a dog🤣where to start? The 1st thing is they do have a menu for our four legged friend.very peculiar menu. Shop as neat as pin & A spruce young dandy behind the counter. Fish and chips batter is too thick for me,overall ordinary.

We visited Franco's on Saturday, 4th November 2023, with a view to having some lunch by the beach as we have done many times before because of the wonderful location and views, great staff, and amazing food. Unfortunately, we didn't get to eat. My dog will be 15 in January and had a seizure whilst we sat at a table reviewing the menu. I would like to thank the staff and other customers on adjacent tables for being so considerate and caring during and after his seizure. Once his seizure had passed and he was back with us, we carried him outside for him to recover totally before taking him home. I would also like to especially thank the very kind chef who brought him out a pot of doggie ice cream and some ice to cool him down, he devoured the ice cream without coming up for air and then wanted to chase the seagulls. I have washed your blanket that we wrapped him in to bring him home. Thank you, and i will return this to you at the earliest opportunity. My little man is doing well, and we have not had any further seizures. We really appreciate your kindness and will be back at some point to have our meal. Francos has always been a welcoming, friendly, wonderful restaurant that goes the extra mile, and I have been coming for the last 6 years. Thank you ❤️
