Good day out. The beer selection is big and varied. The house brand beer is obviously worth a try. Food menu has a large selection of all the typical favorites. I had the lamb pie it was good. All in a great way to spend an afternoon or evening. Good service.

This bar is brand new to the group, it has just opened and reflects the traditional values that Gilroys insist upon, Beers are of course brewed on-site and are a must-try. This was a great 'cheers' experience and will grow exponentially with the local trade enjoying the Gilroys experience and the friends and followers of the Gilroys brewery. Gilroys offer great food and there will be live music at the weekends. We love this bar and shall frequent it whenever possible.

Its the best brewery pub around and at the new venue in Sandton. What a win!! Great to see so many of the old staff still there.

I've been very eager to go to Gilroy's and I was excited to hear they were moving closer to my area. I can honestly say they are well deserving of their fame. Food was delicious and the vibe was great. The owner is also very friendly, often checking in on customers to have a friendly chat. The Steak Egg and Chips was awesome! You will see me there again.

This has always and is a fantastic Irish pub. Not for the faint hearted tho. Has live music often, beer is always ready to flow and when you have mates makes the experience all that better. Good is good and worth the wait when it is busy (not too long mind you). If you enjoy a bit joshing and lively atmosphere, this place is great. Also has a backup for those darker evenings, and keeps the ZA national anthem humming while you drink and be merry. Last note, booking on weekends is needed for the busier times, but make sure you pitch on time so you get served on time. 😁

The beer is really awesome. Great vibes and the beer garden is great to chill for an afternoon. They often have live music and everyone usually gets up and dances. The nee location in Sunninghill maintains the chilled vibe from Muldersdrift in Joburg. Fantastic!

What a pleasure to discover that Gilroy's retains so much of what was already excellent in their new Rivonia home. Super efficient online booking system. Easy parking. Great beer, food and service. Big thumbs up from me and my buddy. Burger and steak and kidney pie both delicious.

Good old pub vibe. Where the beer is plenty and food is generous. If live music, good service and locally made beer is your thing, then this is a must go. The host is always engaging and makes you feel like family.

I was incredibly happy to learn that Gilroy's had moved closer to my neck of the woods. Why? Craft beer is why! Gilroy's has become my local and the steak and kidney pie is my favourite. The other dishes I have eaten have all been equally as good. Great flavour, consistently good quality and generous portions. My dates this lunch time were my folks who absolutely enjoyed their food, and my dad Gilroy's Dark. Steve, Hannes and all the staff are always wonderful.

It was our first time after hearing great reviews of Gilroy’s! The experience did not fall short in any way, but one, which is something which need to be addressed. As our food arrived we had an elderly gentleman display lighters that he wanted to sell to us; being sorry for the bloke and somewhat annoyed I made a pick and quickly made payment via e-wallet to frankly get back to our food and to have some peace. This didn’t stop here as he came along while we were eating our main course and said he never received the pin. I gave him my number and said that he must let me know, again in a haste to have the man leave us alone. The conclusion is that I was hounded by him today, and I’ve made another payment - but this experience is unfortunately something which Gilroy’s will need to address as a lady who sells flowers there also circled us frequently which will have me hesitate to go there for a meal again, despite the great food, beer and atmosphere.

Such a gem! Great food (I'd come here just for their chips) and the best best craft beer. Finish that up with the best live music and you have the perfect Friday afternoon lunch.

Value for money food. The eisbein was great. Onion rings good. And the beer was also very nice.. For someone who doesn't necessarily like beer I enjoyed all of them. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Excellent beer and the food is fantastic! Generous portions, well-priced with the best fish and chips. The chicken cheese burger is better than Nandos, hands-down. Ribs, beef burger, eisbein and chicken strips are all delicious. Super vibey on weekends with live music and entertainments.

The atmosphere was fun but the food was really sub par, the potato skins sucked and the pork belly was okay, little bit chewy, the gravy and mash it comes swimming in was terrible, thank god the hot mustard was there to get that horrible gravy taste out my mouth. Beer was good, had the ruby ale.

A lovely restaurant where one can just relax while having craft beer and pub grub, Or where one can join in on the fun and dance while listening to great country style music. Food was delicious, service was good, all in all a good atmosphere.

Great beer, great people, great vibe. The fact that you can buy beer to take home (for quite cheap I might add) is a bonus. The food is okay - some of the stuff was very good and others was a little on the bland side, but overall DEFINITELY worth a visit!

Music is high quality but is a bit too loud to enjoy conversation. Apart from that, amazing venue with good quality food, drink and service. Awesome vibe. Always fun.

By far the best place there is! The food is brilliant, and this is one of few restaurants where the owner walks around. There is lots of little surprises hidden inside, so poke around!

What a real gem! So glad they moved a bit into the city, by Rivonia/Paulshof. Spent my birthday there with many friends, and had one hell of a time. Beers are fantastic, food is amazing, and the service is excellent. We did the Beer Experience which is also highly recommended and entertaining! Happy to go there again!

Really great venue with really interesting decor. Nomore and Petrus were amazing servers who were attentive and friendly. The menu is a fun read too, with splashes of humour throughout. Hannes, the owner, makes a point of chatting to guests and his passion for Gilroys is awesome. Jason and I highly recommend the beer battered fish which even comes with a serving of traditional mushy peas. It's a unique experience a little bit away from the city and hustle and bustle. Will be back for more

It is a lovely place to go out with friends and family and have a great time! The owners really make you feel welcome and make you laugh! Live music was great and the food and drinks were good! Service was also good.

Great place, I took my brother there to introduce him to really good ales. Their Traditional Ruby Ale is my favourite, having said that all of their ales are great. The food is also very good and well priced. Fantastic vibes and live band.
