The food is really good and tasty. Go early to get a good table. There was a live band with good music on Sunday when we visited.

Prawns have no taste. And some of the prawns is bitter because of the gut that's not taken out. 2 Of my clamps were empty and when I told them 2 are empty, they just giggle.. not "Sorry sir il get you 2 other!!!? Update: My stomach works like hell!!

Service bad, portions very, very small, food expensive, drinks are super expensive, waiter battle to speak or understand English. Live music was great. If it's true that the Landlord hi-jacked the business from the previous tenants, it's karma doing it's job now. I won't be in business for long then.May he burn in he'll...we are going to tell everybody!!

Laurentina Restaurant is located in the Flea Market in Hartesbeestepoorte near the Dam. After a fun time shopping this restaurant is great place to relax and have a good Mozambican meal. Sea food is excellent. The service was quick and efficient.

Bit far out from Joburg but worth the drive for a true mozambican Portuguese experience. Food is flavourful and magnificent. Can be pricey but you get what you pay for. Try the prawns or the espatada. Enjoy the live music and have a good time. Take the whole family with and make a day out of it. The service is also excellent. Staff exude a positive energy in all exchanges with patrons.

I was passing Laurentina and I had to quickly get some work done - I pulled in at 09:45 (it only opens at 10:00), but I was welcomed and I chose to be seated outside. While having my cappucino, I progressed with my work, and then I decided to have something to eat. I enjoyed snails and a Maputo-burger. Snails were really cheezy and creamy, great taste. The burger boasts a really large patty and all the trimmings. It was a bit early for me to experience the real atmosphere of the place though….

Having three centuries of experience in the restaurant business, these owners know how to prepare a good Portuguese meal with exactly the right atmosphere.

Would rate them 10 stars if possible. Absolutely delicious and the prawns... there's no words. Beyond that Bryan was the most wonderful waiter. Thank you for the lovely experience. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great service, the best we have ever had. To Tom the manager, keep up the great work and Leticia, our server, you are fantastic. One of the best by far. Thanks for a great night out!

Their food is phenomenal. Authentic Mozambican cuisine. Everything on their menu is worth a try. The live Latino music creates a great vibe

Food was excellent- we ordered the meat platter to share, and as you can see, we annihilated it 😂 (only problem was they didn’t provide steak knives to cut the steaks with). Our waitress was so lovely and ran around trying to source a steak knife and eventually found one but we were almost halfway with the meal. Will def be back to try the prawns! Live music was a huge bonus.

Waited over an hour for our meals which we then received cold. Ordered the millionaires platter. A bit disappointing for the price. Prawns were average, fish had no seasoning. Hand cut chips were delicious. Waiter hardly checked on us. We had to enquire about our own meals. Great location and atmosphere, however, service needs to be upgraded.

We were not impressed. (1) Booking was made a week in advance (for a birthday celebration). When we arrived at the pre-determined time, reception had no clue and we ended up looking for a table ourselves. What a humiliating experience. Guests were not impressed. I suggest that you rather then not take table bookings. (2) Service was almost non-existent: After waiting for 30+ minutes (not exaggerating!) after arrival, we had to almost beg the lady to come to our table to order drinks. And the drinks only arrived 20+ minutes later - after one of the group members went looking for her. Her excuse: 'They are still preparing'. How long can it take to 'prepare' a couple of whiskeys, beer and cold drinks? I then still had to go to the bar area to get glasses! (4) My wife's hake was delicious but my steak was (very) rare. I asked for medium. (5) Worst of all: The food arrived without forks (which we didn't notice immediately as the lady left quickly) and when we eventually got her attention again, she said: "But I gave you spoons" . Unbelievable, how do you eat steak with a spoon?? Very poorly trained staff. (6) A cleaning person on standby for the bathroom areas would be great as the floor in the Men's area needed attention when I visited. Will strongly discourage anyone to visit. Not great at all.

Super impressed with this restaurant. Hubby and I popped passed and WOW. Food is flavourful, good quality and authentic. Chicken is DIVINE. Staff are friendly and attentive. We will most certainly be back.

We had a very great time here. Although it was very busy, due to Mother's day, the service was still very friendly and helpful. The food is good and the atmosphere is also very good. We will definitely visit again!

UPDATE: I have been sick for two days after eating the prawns. My daughter also not well and she had calamari. I have been a loyal customer for years. From Chameleon Village to the new location. Never had a bad experience but the new venue management is lacking severely. First visit they had no ice cream, 2M beers out of stock, Peri Peri chicken was great. Second visit ordered 1kg prawns which were dry and flavourless, still no ice cream, still no 2M beers, no tonic options for gin, no cash float, hake was was paper thin full of bones, waitress had no personality and limited understanding of English or the menu. This place needs a wake-up call. Music was terrible and a singer that's singing like it's a pub night karaoke evening, food was below average if not terrible and lack of drink choices is frustrating. The only thing you could be guaranteed of is asking for something and they say No we don't have it. Wine by the glass is vinegar rather order a bottle and sangria has old fruit in it. A far cry from what I have been used to at this restaurant over the years. Paid a R1800 bill reluctantly as i can do everything at home with better music, better food and better service.

I recently visited the Laurentina restaurant at Hartbeespoort Dam and I am thrilled to give it a 5-star review! The ambiance was amazing and the food was fresh, delicious and served quickly. We were warmly welcomed by Costa Cambanis who made us feel right at home. It's great to support local businesses and I would definitely return to Laurentina. We enjoyed the succulent chicken and calamari dishes, which were executed perfectly. The R&R jugs were a great addition and really brought out the Mozambique vibe of the restaurant along with the live music. All in all, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience!

Nice vibe. Good live music. Some dishes are overpriced. We waited for over an hour for our food. R145 for calamari and cold chips.

Great chilled atmosphere on a Wednesday evening. Mozambique style. Food and service was great! Thanks for the service Julian. Wil definitely stop here again when in Harties.

A place with a great vibe. All you need to add is the humidity and ypu would almost have that Maputo feel. The food is good, beers are cold and not badly priced. Cleanliness not quite up to standard with flies also reminiscent of Maputo

Friends invited us for lunch at Laurentinas. It is recommended to book over weekends (luckily we booked a table). On first glance of the menu, I noticed they’ve got quite a variety on the menu. I opted for the fried calamari starter. Good flavour, but it was fairly cold when it reached the table. I think it might have been waiting to be brought to the table. I was quite hungry at the time, so I didn’t send it back. Then ordered the Maputo burger. The chips was good, but can’t say the same of the burger. Patty was quite dry and the fried egg was literally burned (had some of it). The creme caramel which I ordered for dessert, was good. The live music was quite good too!
