I'm providing you with feedback after my visit on Saturday as I am quite disappointed. Every three months when I am in harties, I make a point of visiting your establishment because I absolutely love it, but something was wrong this time around. I sent an email with no response. Sent a message via Facebook messenger and yet again no response yet the message was seen. If there was management presence, I would have taken this up with the manager directly on the day. 1. Not sure why the 4 brandy & mix special is no longer available? 2. The waiter has no idea what is going on. I wanted vegetables with my calamari, he said he does not know what the veggies of the day are. I sent him to the kitchen to find out. He came back and said we need to wait an hour because the vegetables are not prepared yet due to a late delivery. Clearly on the receipt you can see the time we were seated and the time that we had left. To not have vegetables prepared for lunch time service is totally unacceptable. The price charged for 8 calamari rings has also left a sour taste in my mouth. The onion rings were also quite doughy. 3. My partner ordered the wings. I am assuming it was baked in an oven? The wings were incredibly dry or possibly from the day before because no amount of sauce that it was soaked in would make them juicy. The blue cheese sauce was delicious! 4. We were one of three tables on the deck during our visit, there were not that many customers but there were two dirty tables next to us which were left unattended for quite a long period of time. Would I go back? I do not think so. Do not recommend.

Lovely place for lunch and just a relaxed visit.

This restaurant setting is nice but the tables and chairs need fixing. The service was very slow. The food was not great. The bathrooms are shocking and really need attention.

Limited menu, we went on a Tuesday morning. Lovely atmosphere sitting next to the water. Friendly staff.

This is not a place to go to. Rather drive right last and find another place to have a bite to eat. When we where there for lunch they did not have half the items on the menu. I wanted a bunny chow and they did not even have bread to make it. I personally will not recommend this place to anyone. To make matters worse there does not seem to be anyone in charge and the staff's hands are tied and at the mercy of a badly stocked kitchen.

If you are looking 4 good seafood this IS NOT the place to go to. Nothing good 2 say about the food. The calamari still tasted raw. The onion rings sooo oily The atmosphere is good and the scenery very relaxing but wud not recommended this place foodwise

A rustic setting.... the food was just so so delicious. Hearty, happy food. A picture speaks a thousand words. Staff was amazing, friendly and attentive.

The view of the dam is not the Harties Dam, the venue has its own little dam. Disappointing since the reviews on Google indicate dam views 😅. The restaurant, service and food were OK, albeit expensive.

So, I have mixed feelings about this establishment. The service was great. The food was good, something Granny would whip up. I had the mussels, and it really was delicious. However, there is a man-made pond that really gives off a horrible smell. I didn't mind the dogs as I am an animal lover, but what really got to me was the state of the toilets, The one toilet seat was missing. There was mold on the ceilings and so many cobwebs. Really needs TLC. It's a pity. I am open to giving this place another chance should I find myself in that area again.

Loved every minute of our lunch at this restaurant. Good atmosphere with the water close by and excellent food. Will definitely recommend

Waiters are not trained. Hot beverage was not hot I mean you pay a liver to eat and drink there but the food was cold and the castle light draught was not nice at all... Please guys your prices are ridiculous!

A hidden gem. Ronald (what an asset to the restaurant) our waiter was fantastic. He showed us around the place and his service was nothing but outstanding. Beautiful man-made dam with gigantic fish, ducks and geese, very relaxing and the most adorable dogs. Food was great...the cocktails too. Just a rustic, peaceful to be.

Terrible service. Waited 90 minutes for two children’s pizzas. No bottled water available to order. Manager just stares at you when you complain. Pathetic excuses as to why food is late. Asked for bill and still waited another 20 minutes! DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Great restaurant. Food quality was excellent, Crab Indian tawa masala and lemon butter was so delicious. A fabulous experience. Thanks to Pritam.

The place and the food is amazing, but random dogs while eating ruined my wife's appetite. You CANNOT have dogs in a restaurant. Do better

we love Fishies! And the atmosphere during world cup rugby is normally electric. A good mix of young and old all enjoying themselves

I’ll be honest, we didn’t even stay to eat so I cannot comment on the service and food. My family searched for family friendly restaurants and this place showed up. The drive way to the place is full of gravel, and the pictures shown on google are very deceiving. We left immediately.

Was dying for prawns and with a name like fishermans deck expected some great prawns. They were awful... covered in a gooey sauce that made it impossible to taste the prawns. A very disappointing experience. The place needs some attention, dusty and didn't feel clean. The only reason I am not giving a one star is they are pet friendly and the live singer was singing Afrikaans music we knew and could sing along to. Probably better for ribs... no fishing going on here. It's more like a student bar hangout IMO

Good atmosphere. Have known Casper also for many years. Only thing you have to be careful of is late nights on weekends. Alot of youngsters have the tendency to be at establishment on weekends, and they do from time to time cause bar fights... As youngsters do... The food is phenominal and well priced. Good atmosphere. Actually quite a nice venue 👍🏻

We ordered 2 x pizzas. Waited longer than 1 hour. Brought one pizza. Waited 30 minutes still no second pizza. When asked what problem they said loadshedding. Yet it is wood fired pizza. Also restaurant was empty of other guests. So not busy. No one came to update on circumstances. Had to leave with pizzas in take away.

Really good food and friendly service,live music and great place to enjoy a drink

Went here on a very quiet day, but the staff was not inside the restaurant to take another order from our table. Had to keep walking to go find someone when we wanted to order. Live music was nice, and food also good.

What a surprise we had. Nice location, nice people and good food. Great vibe. Fire places all round. Cozy and comfortable. Worth a visit. Friendly dogs, lots of them. Manger came and greeted us and made sure that we felt welcome.

The quality of the food was not great. I ended up with terrible indigestion. I ordered calamari which took about 45 minutes to arrive. The calamari was tasteless and had to paired with the sauce to be fine. Service was truly slow. I think it can be a good place but the food is just not great unfortunately.

Food was standard had the chicken livers and jalapeno poppers. The service was amazing the waiter constantly checked up on us. Please one thing, please fix your sign outside on the road. Thanks for the experience

We didn't have a waiter had to go to the bar to order. Drink specials are great. Vibe if someone is playing music is very nice if it's cold they light the fireplace making it cozy. Overall nice place to chill

We visited Fisherman's On Deck. The food was great! I highly recommend the mussels and the prawn curry. Gift was our waiter. He was excellent- super friendly and attentive.

Amazing and different fish dishes***** A place where we can feels like nature friendly all to say in one word it's simply Wonderful Place. You can shop some different lives fish and can order to make for dine in or take away. We visited a place on weekends we enjoyed with live music🎶 It makes sense👌👍. Service was top notch 🥳 with friendly way!!

Food was shocking and OVERPRICED for what you get, waited over an hour and a half for our food. Pizzas had 0 toppings and not what was stated on the menu... burger patty was paper thin... mac donalds 10X better Atmosphere was non existent... Not what it use to be
