Great spot out of the city for a day out. Giraffe feed is only R50 and really gets the giraffe's attention so you can spend time feeding it and taking pics. I refer to one because the other one doesn't seem to like people and kept it's distance from the restaurant the entire time. The food is tasty and service is also great. Family friendly. Definitely recommend a visit. The restaurant interior is actually quite nice too. There's also other business in the same location so the day can really be spent here..

One of the saved places in my maps that I wanted to try and it was all worth it. A Sunday well spent with my family. Favorite part is having lunch with the view of wild life. Spotted the Giraffes, Zebras, Ostriches and Wild Goats(Looked like Goats, could be wrong). Our waitress, Nomsa, was friendly and attentive. Our food was good, I really enjoyed my wrap, I love the fact that it was toasted. Hubby enjoyed his crumbed chicken, we also ordered ribs and wings which were good too. Their portions aren't that big but also their prices are not bad at all. Saw a few comments about them being expensive, they are not. Also had dessert, waffles, crunchy exterior but soft inside All in all a great experience.

The restaurant is beautiful. The food, delicious and not overly expensive. The highlight was the giraffe feeding. You can buy the giraffe food for R50 at the reception, and get a refund if the giraffe refuses to eat, at least that's what I was told.

What a lovely restaurant! The service was top class and the food was delicious and fresh. It's lovely to look out over the deck and see the giraffe and buck. They have options for inside or outside seating. It's decorated nicely and the staff are friendly. We'll definitely be back!

1 July 2023. We celebrated a friend's child's birthday. Since there was a booking, we were welcomed and shown our seats. It is R50 for a bag to feed the giraffe however this was made difficult by the number of people there (20 people cant feed 1 giraffe). The scenery, although limited, is beautiful. The waiters were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend for a relaxed lunch.

They were very busy on this Saterday morning. Their are a lot of cyclists starting and ending here. I loved the vibe of the restaurant. We were there 1050 more or less, and we had to choose from the breakfast menu. Our waiter was very friendly and showed us a place to sit. We had a nice place where we could look at the animals. You can also buy food for R50 and feed the giraffe. You need to take it easy and definitely not be in a rush because the food can take a little while. But between taking pictures, enjoying the scenery, and chatting, we did not realize it. I ordered a pizza and enjoyed it. The rest was also happy with their food choice. We end the meal off with a nice milkshake. My suggestion is that when you order your last thing, also ask for the bill that you do not have to wait for when you are done, you can just leave. It was a nice relaxing morning and I will definitely visit them again.

Wow guys first time I have been since the massive upgrades. Must say though it is a massive pitty you never invested in service and decent mangement o match the lovely location and the opportunity this place offers. Waiting almost 2 hours for a couple of burgers is terrible. Judging by the amount of complaints we saw today I am surprised you so busy. Change the management and Jack up the service of all the upgrades will be wasted. The place really is a mess and matches the service, the pooor waiters bearing the brunt for mis management and incompetence.

What a great place for food, drinks and wild animals right by your table. Really liked the food and the milk shakes. Staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very well kept and beautifully designed. Loved to see the giraffe and wild goats. Would definitely recommend visiting and seeing the park as well. Halloumi felt a bit overpriced but was still tasty. Dom Pedro was a big hit.

Great restaurant with great food and friendly service. Pricing on the food is surprisingly affordable for being a popular tourist attraction which is a great welcome to local tourists not having to earn dollars to be able to afford a lunch. Waiting time is a bit long but it is a busy place so understandable that food takes longer and definitely worth the wait once it arrives. Chicken was extremely well cooked and couldn't decide if the chicken by itself tasted better than it did with the mushroom sauce it came with. Definitely recommend lunch at this place.

The service was outstanding. It was raining and they even made an effort to come get us from the parking with an umbrella. The food was great I had a steak and ordered medium and that's exactly what I got. The setting and ambiance is wonderful. Although we could not experience the outside sitting as it was raining. Waiters were not that great but accessible. At some point I sat with an empty glass for about 10min with no refill. If I was the waiter I would make sure glasses are always full as it generally means more income. Nonetheless wasn't a bad experience. Would definitely recommend the restaurant.

If you really want to treat your family, bring them to this restaurant. You can choose to sit inside, outside, or on the deck. You can enjoy your drink in full view of people feeding the giraffes. The service is fast and the place is neat and clean. What an awesome experience.

Such a nice place to visit with your family. Really enjoyed to open air and spacious restaurant. You must simply go to the upper deck to feed the giraffes. P saw everything you can go to the picnic area to look at predators from other countries. Walk thought the reptile and vird section. Loved that they have our National Bird the blue crane there and a special treat the Ground Hornbill. If you don't want to spend money at a restaurant there is plenty of space to r3lax and have a wonderful picnic.

Awesome vibe for cyclists for that cup of coffee after the ride and great atmosphere for a family outing as well. The 1st floor seating area has a great view of some wild life, kid friendly. The food is well prepared with nice presentation. The staff is friendly and welcoming.

Had a great time at the restaurant. Staff are friendly and welcoming. We were greeted at the front door and taken to our table next to a lovely giraffe! There is an option to buy food for giraffe to hand feed it from the second floor. Food tastes amazing and received great customer service. Meal is reasonably priced for the quality and quantity provided. All in all, I can recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve. Or even if you are in the area!

Beautiful restaurant in the Cradle with lovely animals and playgrounds. I love running from here on Saturdays and then grabbing a coffee of breakie. Highly recommend it for a family outing or cycling/running breakie.

Wow, what an amazing experience. The food was great, the atmosphere was amazing and the staff are the kindest and the most hard working I have seen in a long time. Our entire time there, we were looked after well. We fed the giraffe but I recommend one bag of food per family. It was R50 a bag but you get a lot in it. I have kept mine for next time. There’s a little splash pool and a play are for the kids. It’s really a great day out.

Rated 4 stars due to my initial experience. Went for breakfast the first time around and ended up having to wait for an hour. Went back for a 2nd time hoping it would be better, and it was!. The service we got from our waiter, Spice, was impeccable. The food was well prepared and fresh. Awesome portions and incredible drinks. Everything was reasonably priced. Going back was a good idea.

We had awesome Valentine's dinner at the Neck & Deck Restaurant. They made the whole venue very romantic with rose pedals everywhere. The personalised table menu's with our names on was special. Food was outstanding, great taste and presentation was 10 out of 10.

I saw N&D on TikTok and it had positive reviews. The ambiance is great, the service was good even though it was quite busy. If you sit in the upper deck the sun can be quite harsh and the umbrellas are difficult to move. In overall it’s great value.

What a lovely experience. You can also feed a Giraffe from the deck area. The service was great and the staff was friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. There are also a lot of cyclists stopping there before riding out with there bicycles

We went there for lunch on a Wednesday. There were 2 other tables on the open deck. We were welcomed by the giraffe. Ordered cocktails... didn't get it as they didnt have ingredients for the cocktails. Waited quite a while for a Beer and Brandy and coke. I ordered the Lamb curry at R215. Had a small bowl of meat and gravy, no potato or carrots. The taste was great, but I had 1 piece of meat without bones, the rest was meat with bones...very disappointing at that price. The eisbein was huge at R180.

It's well known among all the friends as a lovely place to spend the afternoon and have a meal. Great good, affordable pricing, perfect atmosphere with the animals. Playground for kids and ramp for wheelchairs.

Qondisile was our waitron, and he's a joy!!! Food? 8/10 (we had breakfast, so eggs aren't fabulous) Atmosphere? 8/10, very country feel but with a modern twist with the decor. There's animals right by where you sit and enjoy the meal. Service? 10/10 Highly recommended!!!

Let's be honest, one comes here to see the giraffe up close. If wished, you can even feed it. It is amazing to be so close and worth the stop. Having a cold drink and some food while watching all the animals minding their own business is great.

A perfect weekend outing. Lovely breakfast on the deck while watching Giraffes, Bucks, and Zebras. Ideal place for kids to observe Giraffes up close.

I visited Neck and Deck for Sunday breakfast. Beautiful scenery, clean, quiet with friendly staff. Good food. I enjoyed feeding the animals. I did not get a good seat, though. I was informed that my preferred seating area with good views (close to the animals and also upstairs) was reserved. However, the area remained empty for the hours I was there. I will definitely visit again...

A little disappointing. The restaurant's interior is great, and you can see the giraffes and zebras while eating, food was good-ish, although nothing unbelievable BUT the one thing that turned us off was the FLIES - buzzing on us, buzzing around our plates, buzzing all over the place. I do appreciate the staff for trying their best to get rid of them with candles and burnt coffee, but it could really be a problem if not sorted out.

👍👍 What a peaceful place to visit. The doggy menu is better than the human one, but the food was very "English Pub" rather than "restaurant" quality. But still good. Prices are very reasonable, let's face it, you are going here for a doggie day out.
