Smokers allowed at the bar, against South African regulation. One tiny blanket on a "King" size bed on very cold two nights. Had to request a heater and that too was like toy size. TV did not work, and in a different room, water was dripping 24/7 "torture". TV had a remote with batteries showing teeth marks as though they were chewed by a dog. Woke up several times during the night due to the noise. By the way, no one was Portuguese. My one yellow star is simply because there is no zero or inverted yellow star. Very disappointing. "The Venue" lodge not too far from here was by far much better and excellent reception and staff.

Friendly bartender opened to serve us a much needed cold one even though there was noboby else. Zak if memory serves me right... Over the past 15+ years I've never seen the bar not properly stocked. Saturdays & Sundays are great days if you like to be entertained.

Fairly priced rooms.Had a chance to dine by their garden,their prawns Wow.Before we left we had a quick breakfast fast which was awesome considering the price.

I would love to give a 5/5 star because the food really was amazing. I had the famous baby chicken and would definitely recommend. But... They lost a star from me because this is a pub not a restaurant. They were blasting music in the dining area, on a Wednesday night, while some guests (sitting at the bar) were getting progressively louder as there drinks got lower. Definitely not a family restaurant. But again you can’t take it away from them, the food was really good!

The food atrocious. The restaurant had about 10 tables to serve. Quiet Sunday afternoon. Waited over an hour. Mash Cold, gravy missing. Mushy tasteless prawns - how do u make mushy prawns ???, rubber calamari end leather fish. The chips, look at the picture. Crazy. An absolute disgrace!

Service was good. Food good and well priced. A bikers delight. Accommodation is available also, bit cannot comment on that, as not tried. It's a great stop in a mountainous area. Lots of seating area, and the pub inside is nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. 🤗 Lovely seating on the balcony area. 🤗

A quiet unpretentious restaurant serving Portuguese inspired tasty food. Definitely worth at try.

Lunch stop, very dissatisfied with the new prices that did not come close to the value of the food served, we won't be back in a hurry

Great service from the friendly staff. Food was well prepared with a decent portion on the plate.

Kitchen very slow and erratic. Price increase doesn't reflect the quality and service of the food. Meals came at different times to the table. All had to eat separately.

Basically everthing on the menu wasn't available. Staff was very friendly but management need to adress the wine and food menu shortages. Don't advertise what you don't have

The worst ever we were fast asleep and at 4am in the morning there was loud music playing from the speakers that is mounted in the veranda ceilings, I reported the matter with numerous phone calls but no luck, we heard some of the staff having a ball and tried to knock on their door just to tone down the music instead we were sworn at through a window. Never , ever no wonder the place is always empty!

Good quality Portuguese cuisine. Expect bar type service but the food is worth the money. Average to high cost for drinks and food, but is worth it. A good stop over back from Harties

Food expensive for quality you get. Service was great.

The service was terrible. The food was cooked with the paper wrapping still on. The manager was nowhere to be found. When we told & showed them the wrapping the waiter just removed the item from our table...which we paid for in full
