We visited the Sheraton for the first time recently, over New Year’s Eve to be exact. We had such a noteworthy and memorable time, with a top-notch view once/when the city came alive. The overall experience was fabulous and I’d recommend the Sheraton Pretoria to anyone. The Hotel Staff were friendly and quick, courteous and very helpful at all times. We were especially delighted by the Restaurant — excellent food at great prices. We'll be back soon!

I had booked two rooms and had specifically asked that they be next or close to each other. They booked us on separate floors and told us we arrived late that’s why they booked us on different floors. They then miraculously found two rooms next to each other - happiness. There was no porter to welcome us. We had to run around asking where they were. Found one and he helped. Arrived in our rooms, the one had filthy water in the basin😫. We called them and they came to sort that one. That was the last time any one came to help us in that hotel, even after we personally went downstairs to get help. The window couldn’t open, the aircon wasn’t working, the extra blanket had urine and blood stains on it, no gowns in both our rooms. The overall service was not good at all. On a positive note - their rooms are beautiful and spacious. The bed is comfortable and quiet big. Wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Honestly, this is a genuine 5 star Hotel and I am always inspired by the atmosphere created from the entrance. Elegant, simple but not boring, subtle but not common. The decor all around remains just enough "Africa" that you appreciate the land but too much so that it overwhelms the classic modern finish. The outdoor space is incredible, which includes a water fountain and breathtaking view of the iconic Union Buildings. Absolutely inspiring service and with warm hearted employees who seem to love coming to work here almost as much as I enjoy staying at this powerhouse establishment.... if not more. Big Thank you to all who dedicate themselves making Sheraton Hotel Pretoria the oasis it is now, and forever more.

The hotel can use some fixing upping. Overall the communal areas look nice but the rooms are a bit aged. The breakfast was very nice as well as the service while checking in and out. Overall good value for money.

Terrible experience. Mr Musa who checked us in was the only member of staff that I can commend. When my card needed reactivation I had to go down twice to reception to re-activate it.....without even an apology. The room was cleaned with coffes sachets left on the floor. I was left with 1 towel. I had to ask for water and the tea/ coffee sachets to be replaced. The plus is that checkout is at 11h00 and the breakfast variety was excellent.

There were problems right from the check-in at the hotel. We did not receive the numbers we ordered. We had booked rooms on the high floors with a beautiful view of the garden. We were given a room on the 1st floor with a view of the parking lot. The attitude of the staff is unpleasant and unresponsive. When we finally got a room on a higher floor, we had a surprise with the balcony door - its glass was broken (visible in the picture). Not to mention the cleanliness, the cleanliness of the room does not correspond to a five-star hotel, and the cleaning takes place in the late afternoon. An unpleasant aroma on the first seven floors every morning. The fan sounds very loud that it is impossible to sleep. The food at breakfast is bad, definitely not worth taking breakfast.

The interior and style of this hotel is impressive but feels maybe dated a bit. Furniture is certainly due for renewal. Some chairs are end of life. So some carpets. But everything seems well cleaned. Room and bathroom are quite spacious. Bathtowels could do with more fabric softener. USB charging points are faulty. Beds are not the most comfortable though, but linnen is clean. Pillows had a strange smell of mothballs. Breakfast buffet choice is good. Restaurant menu and food were also very good. Hotel has an outside pool and terrace. Again, most cushions are up for renewal. The terrasse is not ideal to rest as the street noise is continuous. As service can be long, patience is a virtue. Located in front of the Union Buildings, this is the selling point for this hotel.

Nice play to stay in Pretoria. Helpful staff and stunning view on the union building ! If you choose the view on UB, it can be a little bit noisy in the mornin mg as buses horns a lot down the street

Not a 5 star hotel. Not one day went by where we didn't need to call reception to replenish something that was forgotten by cleaning staff. So make sure that you have toilet paper, towels, etc before you actually need it. Luckily there's a phone next to the toilet. Hopefully it's working and someone at front desk answers. The fridge didn't work and was "fixed" by Maintenance bringing us ice. The general theme of the hotel appears to be, "If it is broke, then don't try to fix it." Staff don't service the pool area so take what you need beforehand or be prepared to walk to front desk when you need something. Order the Long Island from the bar if you feel like being disappointed. You'll get an overpriced toilet soup that Lizzy says they got from Google. She was also kind enough to do us the favour (apparently) of allowing us to use 4 forks from the kitchen. Lower your expectations to the level of the smelly basement to enjoy your stay at the Teraton.

Note that I was only here for a buffet dinner with my family for a birthday. The hotel at night honestly has this creepy haunted hotel/human trafficking Hotspot vibe to it. Made me super anxious. The table and setting was OK, very "old hotel" feel. The food was basic, like what I could have just cooked at home for Sunday lunch. Our waitress was right there if we needed anything; service was actually good. We paid R280 pp for the buffet so, affordable. The brought a slice of cake for the birthday girl and sang (not Spur vibes). The kids loved it so, good first time experience for them. Overall, it was a good evening out but slightly underwhelming.

Area surrounding hotel is so deprived it may seem like a 5* upon entering. Unfortunately it's definitely not. Overall I enjoyed my stay as I decided not to be ultra critical and just go with my vacation buzz. Hotel needs an overhaul. Staff need proper training (zero customer service understanding). Could mention observations of action required in almost all areas in the hotel. PS please clean the swimming pool 😷🤢

The hotel has new management, and it is now efficiently run. However, the service at the bar/lounge area was subpar. The most expensive salad on the menue was disappointing.

The hotel has had no electricity for 2 days. They distributed communication indicating a power outage, but a neighbouring hotel has power. How does one building have a power outage due to the city, but the building right next door has power. Did you pay your bill? Guests are expected to stay in dark rooms, have cold showers, go to the bar area to charge electronics. When enquiring, they can’t provide answers. What an incredibly horrible experience.

We booked a 2 nights stay here for ourselves and wedding guests approximately 2 months ahead of time. When walking in, I was disappointed by how unclean most of everything was: from curtains in the lobby falling off, to dust between the sofas - I ignored this hoping the rooms would be so much better, but to disappoint me further, when trying to check-in, the lady told me that they were not checking in any more guests due to their systems being down and that I was to find another hotel. Although my experience with this hotel was short lived, it was my chosen stay for a day I would always remember. Can’t be more disappointed!

Very comfortable stay. All staff extremely friendly. Dinner (the kingklip was excellent) and breakfast were both very good. The room was a bit dated but everything worked well and it was a good size with great views of the Union Buildings. Very good value for money.

This hotel is absolutely stunning. Has its own draw backs but service was amazing, facilities were beautiful and the views are amazing. The bed is extremely comfy, drinks were quick and the hotel is really quiet. However we did have some issues; first we arrived at 15:30 and the room was not ready. My check-in time was 14:30. They told me that there are people who checked-out late. Then we found a few cockroaches in the bathroom. The minibar was empty and there was no water in the fridge. There were no gowns in the room and they asked that we pay R800 each for them if you want them. This would have been 136% more than the cost of the room and makes no sense why I would need to pay to get a gown in a 5 star hotel and it costs more than the room booking. Was extremely disappointed with this. Even with me understanding their explanation of gowns being stolen, whoever makes a booking must just understand that you must have a R800 deposit just for the gown with you in order to get a gown and live out your 5 start hotel experience.

Sheraton hotel is perfectly located near the union buildings one of the most treasured buildings in South Africa. The hotel is supper clean with someone to assist almost every moment. The hotel staff was very friendly and the conference venue was top notch. In term of lighting, sound and virtual conferencing.

Reception was nice and friendly although I had to wait for a while before I could check in. The bar staff are ok, serving me my whiskey in a cognac class was a bit of a bummer. The buffet was superb really worth the money and effort. Would definitely recommend it to anyone

Overall pretty good hotel. The staff is very friendly and you feel very welcome. I think the location is pretty good. Only little downside, the interior is a bit dated. But for the price, totally recommended.

Sheraton hotel is a really good hotel for work trips and for families to stay. There staff is really friendly, the atmosphere is also good. There breakfast and dinner is the best. The only think I don't like about the hotel it's that the parking area/basement smells really bad but overall this is the best hotel in Pretoria!

The hotel is beautiful. The room was big with a great view of Union Building. They have a restaurant, a bar and a spa. They have a pool too. I was there for just a night and I definitely will be going back. The bed was not the best for me. Too soft for my liking. One thing I loved was the hot water supply. Nothing beats a steaming hot shower(there's a bathtub too). Check in was a breeze, I booked online. My parking fee for the night was R30 (basement parking).

Our stay was marred by a number of problems, the first being that the rooms weren’t ready on time. The hotel furniture is dated, which could be cute in a vintage kinda of way, but everything else is too. I need the service to be good, and it wasn’t. Staff seemed overwhelmed, particularly at the breakfast buffet, and there needs to be more hotel staff on hand. The amenities are not the best, the Wi-Fi is non existent, the aircon barely functions (which sucks because the windows can’t open), the pool area isn’t big enough for a hotel of this size and it wasn’t cleaned AT ALL for the two days we were here (which means beer bottles and strewn pool cushions everywhere). The absolute worst part of our stay was the “spa” and the massage we booked. It was given in what looked like a small staff room with tacky LED lighting and questionable products used. The “masseuse” injured us all, with both couples reporting severe pain in our back area after leaving. I doubt they were given any competent training on massage technique because they were way too harsh and we were told to “just breathe” through it. The only good thing about this hotel was the view of the Union Buildings and the gardens. I don’t know how this hotel has been rated 5-star as it’s the furthest thing from.

A luxury hotel with a great view of the Union Buildings. A 3 night stay, for a 3rd time, once again proved to be a pleasant experience. The room was clean, reasonably well equipped, barring complimentary stationary, which one would expect in a 5 star establishment. The secure parking was fine. Great amenities consisting of a lovely pool deck and a compact gym is on site. Great breakfast offered every morning, which has remained consistent quality-wise since my last visit

This hotel is now showing its age, even in the conference rooms and outside areas. It is evident all around. Service is average, but not exceptional. The food is good. The location is central if being close to the Union Buildings is your thing. During the week, the hotel it is busy with many government departments and government organizations having their conferences and meetings here. Parking is under the building and secure.

The room filled with cockroaches. We have to call front desk and ask to change room at 10:30PM. Food is edible at best. We ordered sirloin steak and fish&chip, both of us can’t finish as they were bad. Spa room is scary. No AC on, we had little fan which making funny noise. Massage is fine. Staffs were helpful as much as they can but the hotel really need to change ASAP. We probably won’t come back ever again.

2 stars is being fairly generous. Bed was comfortable. Digital TV - nope Internet access - occasional, but mostly not. Parking - yes, but the smell in car park could cause vomiting. Air Con - worked now and again. Shower - a mere trickle, alternates between scalding hot and stone cold. Restaurant- I recommend you go to KFC or Maccas as the service there is better and the food is hotter (especially avoid the breakfast). Also, bring your own light bulbs, or you'll have to swap the one in the room between lamps as required

The receptionist guy was about to knock off, didn't give me any information on my stay or whatsoever. I had to ask even the wifi password, parking validation. The service was not great at all. The TV channels some didn't even have sound. No one checked or asked. Worst on my last day there was no water, again had to call reception to find out what is happening then I'm told the notices are coming up. No back up system. In this economic climate unfortunately such establishments have to think of such. I was traveling and vouldnt take a bath or shower as I would have missed my flights.

The place is neat, staff very friendly and patient. We were allocated room 703 on the 7th floor, no one cared enough to show us how to get there with the main lift cause it stops at the 5th floor. We had to use the emergency escape stairs to get there from the 5th floor to 6th. We then found the, lounge on 6th floor with the staircase that leads 7th floor, it took about 15 minutes for us to locate our room from check-in, around 23:00 on Saturday night. The room was clean, bed comfortable, bathroom clean. However, we could not open the window for fresh air, it can only be opened by about 5cm. On Sunday morning when we had to bath/shower, we found that the shower was taking too long to drain water, the plug in the bathtub was not sealable - I couldn’t take a bath. We found a service lift that could take us up to the 7th floor - it was an inconvenience cause we had to walk around to find it, this was after we tried using the emergency escape stairs only to find the door at the 6th floor locked. There were water leaks in the bathroom as we found water on the bathroom floor. I’m am disappointed, highly disappointed, I wouldn’t think of going back there.

We flew from Cape Town for a wedding and decided to stay in their exec suites. Unfortunately we had no one to guide us at the entrance. Furthermore the second room we had booked wasn’t ready. The room we got had a faulty rickety air conditioner which gave us a headache and we couldn’t sleep because of it. To top it all the room was bare with no slippers , bathrobe, towels etc. And we had to get ready for the wedding in 2 hrs with a 45 minutes drive to destination. So a terrible start...and yes just found out they have no bathrobes as all are in the washing.... I wouldn’t recommend this for anyone...

It was just amazing. The food- ala carte and buffet excellento. The general upkeep and house-keeping also great. One of my best birthday celebrations😍😍😍. The staff are also friendly, kind and helpful. Compliments to Chef Nick, Podesta, Lindiwe and Kutlwano👌👌👌😉. One thing though- I do think that the hotel should make bathrobes that accomodate all body sizes. I hope this is taken in good faith.👌

A terrible example of The Sheraton! From 1-ply toilet paper, to the lights, lamps and clocks not working. Zero wifi!! 1 towel in the bathroom for 2 people and no amenities. What a horrible shock after not being able to travel for so long. Nothing that was promised on their website was delivered.

Good old fashioned grand hotel. Reception and guest services very welcoming and helpful. Minus one star for officious staff member at dining hall demanding payment in cash and refusing inexplicably to issue a written invoice or for it to be charged to the room.

I want to start by saying this is a 5 star hotel. When we first arrived , I had a small bag and after we checked in , no one offered us a porter service to help us or escort us to our room. The room itself is very comfortable and clean. It didn't have some of the toiletries you'd expect like shower caps , sanitary bags ,etc. It did have the standard soaps and shampoo. We then headed down to the bar area, which is the most disappointing part of our stay. There were dirty dishes lying on tables at some of the seats in the bar lounge. We sat at a table away from the uncleaned area, only to look at the floor and see it littered with crumbs(see photo). The waiter was clearly under huge pressure, he wasn't very friendly. He told us there is no bar menu when we asked for cocktails but there was a menu. He tried to cleanup some of the dirty dishes , but he was a waiter , barman and busboy at the time. He eventually was relieved by the barman and his mood instantly improved. The food we ordered was really good. The cocktails we ordered were pretty standard , but good. We went down for breakfast the next morning, the variety was excellent. The pastries were fresh and warm. The hot breakfast selection was a little lackluster but what I did have was good. The buffet operated as before covid came into the picture. There was no one dishing out for people as with other buffets during covid. So I suggest you go for breakfast early , unless you want to have to deal with a crowd , etc. Overall , our stay was okay. Definitely not a 5 star experience. We probably won't be coming back here.

A true classic, colonial-style Sheraton in Pretoria! Staff, club level staff and especially the duty manager, is very friendly and supportive. The views towards Union Building, Gardens and Mandela statue are stunning! Recommended for any trip to South Africa 👍🏻

My main issue is with the restaurant side, we waited a good 10 minutes before being helped, we were the only ones at that time. The so called fruit juice is basically over sweet syrup mixed with water. The food was not good, chicken strips tasted like it had been fried in either old oil or in fish oil, the samosas, I couldn't make out if it was mutton or just off or both. My food was served cold after waiting 30 to 40 mins for it to arrive. To get drinks served took forever. 12:30 till 3pm that's how long it took for 3 drinks and a meal and 80% of the time was waiting for service etc. Not impressed at all. Definitely not 5 star worthy

Thank you for the experience. It was good. There was no bathrobe and slippers before I got to my room - received it the following day after requesting for a few items I required. Please add more television channels, not all clients are international and only interested in news channels. Please add more stock for visitors who don't carry toothpaste, toothbrush, shower gel and lotion. Good food except for mince that was a bit salty one day so I had chicken livers the other day.

I would like to give s shout-out to the duty manager who goes beyond the call of duty. He is the best. He ensure my Heritage weekend was the best worth every cent I spend at the Hotel. The hotel staff was so friendly and would surely go back for a visit. Local is lekker. I stayed in the interleading room of the Acacia Suite. Very comfortable indeed.

We had a wonderful weekend stay, from check in; it was short and professional. However the Porter could be more welcoming. We then informed a lady on Friday night who works in the restaurant that tomorrow (Saturday) we celebrating our double birthday so we wanted to reserve a table. She simply said to us let me take it from here and tomorrow I'll surprise you (Just like that). Saturday morning we had room service breakfast and we were informed it will take about 20min, however it only took about 12min (Talk about efficient service) We skipped lunch, we went out. The room was neatly made up upon our return. We wanted to order some drinks but we were told that we can not sign them to the room and clear them upon check out, I found this very odd but a bit understandable. Maja tried to assist and referred me to Reception to make arrangements but was immediately denied, even though I offered to leave a valuable item by them. It's really not nice swiping the card for every purchase especially when staying for over 1 day. Dinner time: We were welcomed with a warm smile by the lady we spoke to last night (Friday) She kindly informed us that the table she reserved for us is surrounded by other guests, "would it be alright?" We were okay with that. To our surprise, the table setting was extremely beautiful with with a pure white runner and red rose pedals, neatly folded and tight napkins with the hotel name on the ribbon. It was out of this world, this is where we came about learning the name of the lady (Lizzy) it was only right we call her by the name from there. She made sure we had a wonderful, perfect evening... the service was great. The other lady also came to check on us at least twice. (Thanks for the birthday cake) Sunday morning we had breakfast in the restaurant, I must say breakfast is really amazing. We ordered 2 omelets and they were done in a very short amount of time; they were very tasty. However I picked up during breakfast that table clearing was a bit slow, several guests were walking around looking for tables. This could help by clearing the tables while people are still seated, it makes it easier. But then overall experience was really amazing. Thank you so much Sheraton. Special thanks to Lizzy!!!

I loved everything about this place ❤️ its location to the view we had from our room. Loved the room and room service and politeness of the staff. I'm a chef lover, so yeah I loved the chef 👨‍🍳 on my special requests for specific meals and alterations on certain foods 😋. The place alone is stunning beautiful. It is also very close to the zoo and the union building with a safe underground parking. We enjoyed our stay here with my Fiancée and we are definitely going back 😀😄. Thank you Sheraton management.

Rooms are outdated but comfy. Our room with a king bed had water in the shower albeit low pressure. My girls in a twin room had a trickle of water from the shower. Breakfast was very good. Had a lovely breakfast with an excellent Americano. The area and lighting outside the hotel is really bad though.

Haven't stayed over but attended a conference there today- based on this experience, nowhere close to a 5 star graded hotel. carpark smelled terribly foul, toilets at the conference facility smelt the same. The foyer also did not smell good. the food wasn't great at all. i strongly advise you look into these finer things. Your patrons want to feel expensive when they walk in and 1st impressions last. Sheraton is an international brand and your hotel is nowhere near their standard, leave alone 5 star. please use this constructively.

The basement parking is stuffy and reeks ....urine. Not sure. But unpleasant. But once you walk into the generous reception area ts a classy;old ;good... well furnished establishment crying out for a bit of restorative maintenance. A barista is available for your fix..... the service is very good. The gardens are awesome...

Overall a satisfactory experience. Location of this hotel is good as it is central to most places. Service was good. Did not eat at the restaurant as it is very overpriced. Rooms were adequate and clean. Issues: 1) Aircon didn't work properly, blew hot air regardless of setting. 2) Have to pay for parking on top of your stay at the hotel (why is this not complementary), and parking basement had a strong urine stench.

Very convenient hotel with magnificent finishes. The location was not ideal but as a frequent traveler I saw the need to leave a review. Hats off to the Sheraton Hotel for their staff. I was treated with utmost kindness and respect by whom I assumed was the GM. A pleasant Man by the title Mr Van Niekerk, made this stay even more comfortable by going the extra mile to make sure we were satisfied in every aspect, and highly recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable stay, to check out the Sheraton Hotel. Great Breakfast too. Thank You for the hospitality ❤️

Absolutely beautiful hotel and my suite faced the Union building so had a terrific view.. Spacious room, great furniture and with a TV in both rooms. Peaceful and with good WiFi. Excellent selection at breakfast. Staff were polite and helpful. Handy that there's an ATM on site. Unfortunately the place lets itself down in a few areas. The suite had no ceiling lighting so was very dark and it was difficult to work or read at night as there are only table lamps. The room service food was barely warm. I was hungry so couldn't face sending it back and having to wait further. The coffee machine wasn't working at breakfast so the staff made me a latte. Why on earth would anyone serve it in a 5-star hotel by giving you a wooden stick to stir it with when there's an array of cutlery at breakfast? It was like 5 star meets McDonald's.

Flew from Durban to Pretoria and booked at Sheraton. Check in was at 3pm and we arrived at 1:30pm so we sat and had a drink while we waiting. When went to check in, we got told that there is a power outage so they have cancelled all bookings and check ins so we need to find a new hotel to stay at!! The power outage had apparently been from early hours of the morning. Do you not feel the need to phone or e-mail guests about a cancellation if booking instead of waiting for them to arrive for check in before you tell them? Luckily we were able to find another hotel on such short notice but what if it was a guest that couldn’t afford to just go book in somewhere else or if it was a guest that had been dropped off at the hotel. The receptionist was not helpful at all and extremely rude!!!

My experience in this hotel room was nothing short of delightful. If you're looking for a luxurious and comfortable retreat, I highly recommend this hotel. It's the perfect place for a relaxing getaway or a special occasion, and I can't wait to return.

The Hotel is a very beautiful 5-star hotel, the ambience of the hotel is what catches your eye when you first enter, the style is unique compared to other hotels. The outdoor space is amazing, from very nice views of the union buildings. The staff is very welcoming and offer a great service, you will definitely enjoy your stay here.
