What an amazing time we had there. We go every year and I really enjoy the heated pool and slides and my son also enjoys it there. It's amazing staff just some of them obviously taking chances but really need someone in charge for this amazing attraction because it won't be long then that place will be pushed into the ground. Please guys don't let that happen I remember the owner still told me it's his dream to keep this place a holiday resort so don't go and take away his dream he has worked too hard for that.

Very disappointed , disgusting with the state of the chalets. Please advise your guests upfront before accepting bookings. Chalets is a complete mess with cockroaches coming out of the fridge and all over the kitchen, could not even enjoy a meal inside the chalet. Place is very neglecting needs alot of work. Not to mention the pools what a disgrace....will definitely not recommend this place to anyone.

We have always had a wonderful time here. The biggest stand out for me is how accommodating everyone is. We have been here many times over the past 15 years and often forgotten things and they always help. Last night we wanted fire wood after the shop closed. The staff made a plan. The setting is beautiful. We love our log cabin. It has everything and more. Our Favourite little getaway spot. During Covid times, we have visited places in the tourism industry that are suffering. Where it has been visible in the staff. Not here. BIG SMILES all around. Great accommodation, great prices.

We had a nice stay with family and friends. There were even DSTV so that we could watch the Rugby Unfortunately, our unit toilet was leaking. We did report it, but no one came to check. The put put course was full of leaves and could not play.

Do not stay here ! Filthy mould on plates see breadboard photo. Music and loud drunk people untill 4 am in morning. Management does not care about enforsing own rules. Broken steps , shower door against opposite wall. Very old linen. Broken glass everywhere . Keys were only given to us on friday at 15h30.

I wish I could give less than 1 star.... Firstly we were booked at chalet 33... we got there very very late and it was dark and chalets not marked clearly. We ended up going into Chalet 35 which was horrific... I mean 1000 of cockroaches everywhere. My kids couldn't even stand on the floor without their feet being full... it was disgusting and filthy. We went to reception 9 o clock at night pregnant and 2 little kids... my husband requesting a refund so we can go somewhere else... just to ha r this old man scream at us to a point where my kids are scared and management which is a white man and woman laugh in out face and refuse to help us... I am mentioning they are white as they were disgusting too. Disrespect full and screaming aswell... horrible management. Place is absolutely filthy. We will call the health department to go in there today. The way we were treated was really traumatizing for me and my kids. They were tired and cold and the place are just as bad as this place. At the end of the night a very sweet lady sorted us out and refunded us she deserves to work at a 5 star hotel. She was understanding and so sweet.

Love coming here in winter. It's a very central location for activities around Hartebeespoort dam. Chalet was clean and furnished nicely. Although there is not much happening at the resort during winter times, the central location and great price makes up for this. Will definitely go back again.

This place was horrible to the core!!!! I went with my family for my birth celebration. I truly regret why I did not recheck the reviews πŸ˜ͺ. Firstly the reception area was disgusting, there were 2 males who had no idea how to run a reception area ,mind due I've worked at 5star hotels before. They couldn't read and verify the proof of payment!! The rooms OMG, the toilet was a mess, even had urine from previous guests. The walls were dirty ad hell, there was no network, the bedrooms had a repulsive scent. It was literally DIRTY every where. The following morning we had to ask for house keeping 5times for cleaning....I wouldn't recommend people with standards to go there...goodluck

This resort is a great place for weekends away or just as a day trip. There are 3 different water slides as well as there is a heated pool, a kiddies pool and two normal pools. We stayed in a chalet and it was awesome. Its a great place for the whole family.

For a day visitor,I was satisfactory. The garden and the pool area was very nice, clean and well maintained. The environment is kids and family friendly. The staff was very helpful however you hustle to find them.

We all really enjoyed our weekend at Hartbeespoort Holiday Resort. I spent a weekend camping there with family and friends. The place is beautiful, really nice trees and big open spaces. What was disappointing is how the place is lacking maintenance. The camp sites and the areas around the sites had been swept so there was lots of leaves. The communal bathrooms had mirrors that need to be replaced and door handles that are broken. The big lapa was not swept on Saturday morning when we got there to sit and relax and there were some broken tiles too. The maintenance here really needs to be improved. Otherwise we had a great time and would certainly camp there again!

This place has a potential to do really well. Only if they added basic items like a microwave in their rooms. Or I booked one that's too cheap 🀭

This is a lovely place. Chalets very comftable with self catering and own braais. The bathrooms are nice and big. I tried to book one night stay when we only could visit this year hattebeespoort for weekend. But unfortunaitly min booking is 2 nights. But overalla very nice holiday resort. Very Clean.

The Resort needs alot of work. Rundown. Staff friendly and helpful. Enjoy our stay. Not sure if we would go back thou. I'm not sure if theirs covid protocols in place. When we booked they mention theirs were only two chalets available. But their was plenty chalets available. Chalets are clean and well stocked with cutlery, pots and pans. Lots of trees for shade. 8Plenty to keep the whole family busy. The little shop on premises are not worth it. Rather go to damdoryn spar, for what you need. Better accommodation in Harties in my opinion.

Poorly managed, tapes leaking, mirrors broken in bathrooms and durty, monkeys dangerous, people allowed to play load music after 12.00 - for sale therefore nobody do anything. Very disappointing 😞 πŸ˜• πŸ˜”

The service was good and perfect location, however the rooms didn't meet the standard, they were lack of hot water and water to flush the toilet. Electricity didn't have enough power to cook.. you will cook for 7 hours to get food well.

  • 4/5 Bruno H. 1 year ago on Google
There is far more to the place than what meets the eye driving past. I think that might be one of the downfalls. From the road you see a huge open area and some trees in the distance and nothing much else except a lonely double storey buiding with no indication of what it may be. If you have an eagle eye you may spot a water slide....... However once you ventured in Past the main entrance you are met with a really big pinic / braai area lovely kept lawn with more than enough braai to choose from all within the shade of mature trees. Futher down you start see all the chalets available, ranging from small single room wooden homes to brick chalets with spacious bedrooms, beautiful bathrooms, lounge with big TV kitchen and veranda overlooking the pool area. There are nice big pools with a waterside. There is also a jacuzzi area and a shop on site with all you basic needs. Anything else can be obtained from crossing shopping centre 3km away. PS The Damdoryn Spar there is one of the best spars I've seen and most importantly was well stocked.

It's a great central place to travel from to go and visit places around harties prices is really good compared with other places there's also 3 big swimming pools and slide and kiddies pools awesome πŸ‘Œ πŸ‘ I've also noticed people love to come and have functions here and celebrate 🍾 πŸ˜€ been coming here for the past 8 years awesome place also the place is under new management their's rumors of their going to revamp the place cant wait πŸ˜€ thats good because we are scared of spider's in the wood cabins/lapa cabins but other that that its all good if we called them of anything at all they've help us quickly πŸ˜€ thank you so much and keep up the great work

Went camping at Hartbeespoort Holiday Resort with my husband. We enjoyed the break away but unfortunately were quite disappointed and would not visit again. Positives: Friendly staff; Warm showers; a nice area for tents; the slide to the pool and the various pools were great. Negatives: The bathrooms were not well lit and had many moths trapped; the washing up area did not have a working light; The sky lounge was not open; the venue is lacking love and attention in general; many of the attractions mentioned on the website were not available; and then lastly.... The website mentions its a noise free zone; the venue has many signs that its a noise free zone but there were day visitors making noise till late and then also some people staying overnight making noise at 3am. We were lucky that the campers around us weren't doing this but the sound travels so easily in the venue. Can see the potential for the venue and would love to visit again if there was more effort put into the business and the property. But will not visit or recommend it until then

The rooms we were allocated was in a terrible state, the bed and couches were below standard, rooms had a bad odour. We had to take a refund unfortunately. The resort itself is quite okay just think they need to do some renovations to some of their units.

Booked for a 2 night stay. Got to the unit, blaring music and a guy peeing on the wall drunk people roaming around freely. Room was hardly what the pictures make them out to be. I will NEVER go back.

bathrooms not working have never been cleaned, no hot water lightsnot workingin bathroom. Lights at camp site keeps tripping no security... loud music no order or control.

  • 1/5 Wilna G. 6 months ago on Google
The beds were extremely uncomfortable, the so-called wall mounted bedside lamps did not work, only one plug in the room worked. The chalet did not get serviced and on top of it all, the day visitors disobeyd the notice about no loud music, they didn't stick to the day visitor's swimming pool and they left the picnic area without cleaning it. Their bottles and beer tins had to be picked up by other guests as to prevent the children stepping into broken glass. The only positive is we were able to watch the rugby match.

Loud music from early morning to midnight. Place dilapidated and waterslide not maintained with the fiberglass causing skin irritation

  • 1/5 Stephanes Van D. 7 months ago on Google
Rooms are not clean, day visitors stay till midnight playing loud music. Total disrespect for campers. Buying at the kiosk is same as buying on the streets.

The inside of the chalets were clean and neat. The staff were very friendly. The rest of the resort was full of litter and broken glass bottles everywhere. The swimming pool was very dirty and the water brown and murky. We left early as the resort was not healthy for children.

Place wasnt bad. Log cabin wasn't clean. Fan broken and fridge door didn't have rails but they did respond quickly and replaced everything and cleaned the cabin.

If you don't have high standards. Sure it's OK. Will never visit again. Drunk people walking around making noice! Log cabin falling apart. Toilet door doesn't even close! I didn't feel safe at all.

It's a nice place to spend the afternoon with family but becomes overcrowded with no control of people still coming in. The queue grew because it was ill manned and took too long to process pple through. There were enough braai stands for everyone though.

Supervision is needed now and then from the superiors to check if everything is intact and that the guests are well taken care of...i was not satisfied because upon our arrival, we needed help in one of the rooms nd there was no one to assist ..

Ablution block needs a lot of work. Not clean and is dark. The swimming pool areas needs to be fixed up. Do not feel safe in the kamping site.

It's a lovely location & pleasant place, Hartbeespoort Holiday Resort. I'm sure there are decent facilities, accommodation & a restaurant/bar & pools & water slides, & activities for the whole family...yet we weren't here for these things. We were here for the LORD God and His message to us this day! As Mighty Men at the Mighty Men Conference on the field outside. Wow, that was an amazing experience and a witness to God's love and strengthening and healing of us men in our primary roles as fathers, husbands, brothers and sons. I hope some at the resort could hear us singing and our shouting?! It was good to be there outside in the sun (though we may acquired some sunburnt skin!) & listen & worship & talk with other men, grab a eat or coffee & stop at the Christian radio or Bible/missions stalls... We didn't stay over for the braai the programme but I'm sure many enjoyed that too. Might visit here again for other more relaxing, vacation-like reasons in future...maybe or maybe not. Thank you! Keep it natural and animal-friendly, alongside the guest friendliness.

What a nightmare! 15:00 on a Sunday afternoon the music is ear piercing loud in our room! Staff attended to the complaint but he reported back that he can't do anything. The taxi driver responsible for the noise and most of his friends/passengers are drunk and the staff member is scared of confrontation. I now understand why this lovely facility is under utilised and not supported. You never come back here again due to this lack of control.

Would not recommend for a family, the campsite and facilities are not maintained as advertised or even open. Bottles, broken glass and remnants of unruley guests litter every corner of this once awesome venue. Such a pity

  • 5/5 Chanelle P. 2 years ago on Google
First time there. Beautiful place. Could use some TLC. Only 2 lapa's on the day area, but enough shaded areas and braai facilities. Pool was nice and warm. Overall a good place for a bit of a break.

lovely place to camp. the rooms are a little outdated in terms of design but for the price you pay its understandable. I had a good time camping with my friends. we enjoyed the entire experience even the part where the monkeys stole some of our food. its a great place for family and budget campers . i was impressed by the clean ablution facilities with toilet paper and hot water.

Day visitors area clean and tidy, booked a 6 sleeper and bedding is dirty, spiders everywhere, nothing is maintained, beds are uncomfortable, bar area is dirty bottles laying outside, dirty in front of the restaurant, only one employee working in the restaurant and food takes forever, the heated pool water is dirty. Driving range no golf balls, The only thing that we enjoyed was the entertainment Tinus Oelofse
