A beautiful hotel to stay. The rooms were nice and clean, the washrooms were quite spacious. The rooms could have better lighting as they were too dark. Overall a nice hotel to stay! The breakfast buffet was also nice however, lacked Halal items so i was limited to cereals and fruits!

Hotel with character. I really like the location and just the walk inside the hotel space. Very friendly lady at the reception and the are is neat and well maintained. Very quiet and it’s not the most affordable. I enjoyed my time here & dined at the two restaurants on premises. Would I come back? Yes.

The Royal Elephant hotel has two restaurants. The architecture, design and overall vibe is great and I enjoyed visiting the hotel.

We took friends for breakfast. When booking, staff was friendly. I was very dissapointed with breakfast. Fruit bowls was almost empty. I asked for more but it was never filled. Fish was so dry - uneatable. Coffee was cold. Will never go there again for breakfast.

Sumptuous beds, hot roomy showers, nicely decorated rooms with plenty of space. Friendly and tasty room service. Beautiful North African decor in the grand passageway. Old style grand lounge with big comfy armchairs. A place to really relax and indulge. Beautiful. Only thing is I would stick to the a la carte breakfast as the buffet breakfast a bit lower quality than the rest of the hotel.

We had an 80th birthday function. Nothing was ready when we were supposed to start. The beer and colddrinks were hot, no ice and the food was only placed while we were busy already and doing a table prayer, they still dropped stuff and was loud. The food was cold and it seems that management just didn't see this as a problem when we spoke to them. Definitely the worst service I have seen as a guest and a professional photographer at a function. Definitely not worth the money that was paid.

Conference facilities and lunch was good. Just take your own power lead since they had to buy some after we requested for the 3rd time to charge laptops.

We were there for a year end function and I can say it felt as if we ate the leftovers from the previous day's function. The buffet was not refilled and some people did not even get to eat a proper plate of food. The location is great and I have been there before but the experience was disappointing.

The facility is easy to access either from PTA West or inner city. The service can improve, not on with some of completing facilities in the surroundings. The food is great. No undercover parking.

Had a conference at the hotel. Amazing food and good service. Friendly staff. Well done will definitely go agai to visit with friends an family. Would love to overnight.

Previously wonderful, but since new owner / management came in, everything went downhill in a matter of months. Please do not support as disappointment is guaranteed. Menu items are mostly not available. No one to receive you at the door. Music is way too loud.

We had breakfast with friends which was disappointing. We first ordered the Breakfast Stack but the waiter returned saying that they did not have Avo. We then opted for the Pensioners breakfast which was unspectacular and meagre - not worth a star. Later we ordered the Dark Chocolate Cake only to be told that that they did not have that either. We would not recommend this restaurant especially considering what you (don't) get for the prices they charge. We were one of only two tables in the restaurant, so maybe that is also an confirmation of its (un)popularity.

Booked a 1/2 day SPA and the only disappointing thing was that I had to leave after my session - the food was great value and delicious. From start to finish the staff were amazing the treatment room was absolutely fabulous. Great experience - will definitely be back

A very nice Morocco style lodge. It's a 4 start. Well designed and priced. The bathrooms are very nice. The food is ok. Not the best but ok. It's safe to walk within the parameters of the lodge but risky outside. I liked it.

Everyone that sleeps here, is treated like royalty! This hotel has the best showers I’ve ever experienced. The finishing touches in the room make your experience amazing.

This is a 4 star hotel with a 3rd class experience . 3rd class from the service to the cleanliness of the room to the surrounding sewerage smell...The staff are in different without that lovely 4 star service one would expect. The left side 9fbthe bedroom lampshade was bent and the light was not working. The carpet below the TV has two bluish stains. There were water marks on the basin tap and I got a 3rd leftover toilet roll from the previous user. But worse off...the "bottled " water is definitely tap water. You cant' hide the taste...they even accidentally put tap still water in a sparkling water bottle....this is illegal and unethical. You can hear the staff coming and going without considering whether guests are resting or sleeping.Please, please train the staff to give a 4 star service, Failing this, I suggest that clients look for a 4 star hotel where they will pay for and get 4 star treatment. ROM 116....to repair lampshade and carpet stains.

Its a good hotel with nice room however it not value for money. We paid 1 195 rand per night but it didn't include breakfast. Moreover they had no halal options. I personally won't come to this hotel again unless they change their price structure. There are better hotels in Pretoria at better price.

There is no hospitality. Hotel staff and manager didn't care that my room had a malfunctioning toilet. Save yourself the headache, PLEASE

The hotel, service, facilities and hospitality are all top notch, conference facilities need some modernization in terms of technology options available. Apart from that one drawback I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Royal Elephant Hotel. The food was great and outside bar a nice experience. Pricing is fair and view of the Magaliesburg mountains behind the hotel makes for a serene environment considering the hotel is on a main road. All in all, worth the visit and experience.

We had the best experience at The Royal Elephant. We often go for meals which is always top quality, and this Valentine's weekend was no different. Best service, stunning room that was spotlessly clean and just an all-round top experience. Really felt like a queen!

I had a end of year dinner here with my company. During the event, we had drinks first which was original and enjoyable. I also enjoy the scenery. When we got to the dinner, the restaurant did not hold up well. In my plate of mussels, I had a few overcooked and spoiled mussels. The beef wellington was nice, maybe a little overcooked but still very juicy. The sides of the wellington were bland. After dinner we waited almost an hour for our coffee. Now I understand that large orders take time, however this was only 5 coffees. It was a nice restaurant but based of my personal experience, I would rather eat expensive food somewhere else and enjoy the bar here.

Lovely well designed and superbly decotated hotel. Lovely Frican feel with awesome finishes that reminds of Earth and wild. Rooms are nicely decorated and provides the typical hotel feel and comforts. Staff was friendly and the food is well presented and very tasteful. Nothing short of expectation. Allround a great experience.

Stayed here 2 night. No hot water on both nights!!!! First night I called reception they told me the geyser had tripped. Second night the exact same thing. Water was ice cold. Please can the owner contact me.

The location and rooms are totally perfect 🥰 I cannot ask for more My bathroom was definitely out of this world I do however feel like the hotel doesn't trust their clients. You have to pay for every meal or drink you have. You are not allowed to sign anything to the room Having been there for a couple of days I felt bugged to pay my bill and carrying my bag for 1 drink at the bar was such a drag Overall the place was nice

My midweek escape place...The restaurant serves absolutely the best food. Please try their crumbed chicken breast, stuffed with ham... the rooms are clean and neat as always, just make sure you keep your windows closed. Got accused and almost fined for smoking in the room and neither myself nor my partner smoke, only to find that it was someone from the next room who smoked on the balcony... But they apologized and all was well.

Strategic location with a great scenery of greens. Staff are very helpful with restaurants waitresses giving great choices for food incase you are confused about what to eat. Totally loved the architecture. Buffet lunch available. The highlight for me was the pond. Excellent conference facilities.

The Valentine dinner was a disaster, very dissappointed. Used to praise this restaurant, but will not visit again. Very dissappointed. The set menu was altered an hour after arrival. Waiters are slow and poorly trained. Food was okay but not worth the money.
