Luxury Epitomized | Fabulous Building/Grounds | Comfortable Rooms | Highly Recommended —— Detailed Review Below —— Palazzo Montecasino is an upscale hotel that epitomizes luxury and elegance. We have stayed at this multiple times over the years - starting with a one-month stay in 2006 when it was still the InterContinental Palazzo - and have always been pampered and graciously taken care of. The pool area, the lawns, and the gardens are all meticulously maintained. The location of the hotel - in Fourways with easy access to the highway - and quite close to the Montecasino means that one is very close to restaurants, shops, entertainment venues as well (of course) a casino! The rooms are beautiful, large, and decorated with style. The service is immaculate with the staff going out of their way to make the trip comfortable and enjoyable. Verdict: Highly Recommended. What an amazing experience with our travel group. Very helpful porters and the reception team was just so efficient and ultra friendly. The hotel reception lobby smells so divine! The hotel has an elegant vintage type of theme. They overlook the beautifully landscaped garden and inviting pool. You can have your massage in the garden closed gazebos near pool or lounge around with some drinks and snacks. The breakfast buffet is huge!! Give yourself a minimum of 2hours to feast. The hotel location is perfect! The casino, restaurants and art theatre are a walk away with a variety of shows to book and watch. The hotel is situated close to Winnie Mandela Boulevard, that connects all the good visit spots - Fourways, Sandton and Rosebank.

This is the most amazing hotel to stay in. The people who work here are all super friendly. I wish we caught the name of the man who was serving us breakfast every morning, he had such a nice smile and was always making jokes. The hotel also feels very private and spacious. Great big rooms and just awesome overall experience. Thank you!!!

We stayed here for Christmas Day. We arrived and were welcomed by the friendliest front of house reception we have ever been dealt with. This really set the tone for the stay. The bedrooms were well presented and the bed so comfortable. The bathroom and room was spacious clean. The room service was great along with the meals we had in the restaurant. The breakfast is also a must. We were sad to only stay here one night and will be back next time we are in Joburg. Really recommend this hotel.

I recently stayed at Palazzo Hotel Montecasino and had a good experience overall. The room I stayed in had all the amenities one would need for a comfortable stay. It was clean, spacious, and well-maintained. One thing that stood out to me was the well-designed and affordable menu at the hotel. The food options were diverse and catered to different tastes and preferences. I found myself enjoying the meals I ordered during my stay. However, one issue I encountered during my time at the hotel was the faulty lifts. It was inconvenient as it led to delays and waiting times, especially during busy periods. This was a minor setback, but it did affect the overall experience. Apart from that, I enjoyed my stay at Pilazzo Hotel Montecasino. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the facilities were up to standard. I would recommend this hotel to others looking for a comfortable and affordable place to stay.

Rooms and hallways in the hotel could maybe do with a bit of TLC but other than that you cannot go wrong with the Palazzo. Bees around the pool are quite a problem and often now enough loungers for the amount of guests in the hotel. Staff are superior friendly and the good is great. We've stayed here twice and will definitely be back again

Really nice 5 star hotel, rooms were spacious with a double bed. Rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels. The staff were so friendly and attentive. There is a gym on site, it doesn't have much equipment but it worked for me. Buffet breakfast in the morning was a nice addition

I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff is so friendly, the rooms are clean, the food was delicious and the pool is also very clean. I also love the fact that it is right by monte casino but not inside the casino. It allows for peace of mind but also for an opportunity to go have fun. It feels like you are in Italy

I am staying in room 519 , the room is rubbish on terms of quality and standard, the chair in my room has some of the aphostering studs missing, the so called menu is the old one , dead roaches fell from the curtains as I opened them, the balcony is filthy, has not been cleaned in ages the shower arm is about to fall out, this is my first stay here and the last .the staff are friendly and helpful.

One of my absolute favorites in Johannesburg. Classic, sizable rooms. The pool and breakfast amazing! You can’t go wrong with the service here.

Beautiful hotel and rooms. Great location close to casino and restaurants. Breakfast needs improvement, poor for 5 star hotel. Ask for an iron and iron board, took several calls and 1 hour to get. Poor service.

Definitely not worth it. Room service menu, half is not available, could only order a burger and for some reason it came with a enormous amount of Chillies which is not stated on the menu. Furthermore all of the pillows are flat, therfore you need to stack 3 of them on top of each other. Half of the tv channels do not work and I was almost charged for a item in the bar fridge I did not take. I will definitely rather go to ANEW or any Road Lodge Hotel.

Arrived at the restaurant this morning as it was my son’s birthday. Asked to have breakfast for a party of 4. The lady at the desk was arrogant and abrupt stating that breakfast is only for guests. Asked for the manager and he too was not helpful and abrupt. Very poor customer service and first impression. Have stayed at the hotel previously on business but after this experience, we will never return. ☹️☹️

Had lunch here many times, it is always good. The location is beautiful, highly recommend eating on the terrace looking out to the gardens. Service can sometimes be a tad slow but all the staff are very friendly & welcoming. It is a very relaxing place to enjoy a leisurely lunch at a reasonable price.

I am currently staying at this hotel and it is absolutely perfect. After we left a mess they cleaned it up completely while even giving us a few chocolate bars next to our bed as a treat. Even if the food is quite expensive it is the best hotel experience I have ever had.

A truly exceptional experience. Beautiful hotel with the most stunning gardens and pool. I felt like I was transported to Italy. Staff are amazing, friendly and overall excellent service. Loved the breakfast buffet and dinner was equally a great dining experience. Location to bird park and the Teatro was so convenient. Thank you Palazzo for a wonderful stay.

We were invited by guests at the hotel to join them for lunch. The precinct is amazing and the parking facilities and access for people with disabilities excellent. The restaurant staff were most obliging and the service out of the top drawer. With two hard-of-hearing people in our group of seven we were given a table quite separate from others where we could indulge in louder conversation than would be acceptable in other situations. This, allied with the fact that there was no intrusive background music made our visit really enjoyable

Hi I did not go to the Palazzo. I spent my day in the Casino. Unfortunately it was not a good experience I lost more than I expected to do. Overall I enjoy being at the casino the overall atmosphere is very relaxing. Thank you for asking me to share my experience. Will rate it the best casino.

What more can I say, our stay at The Palazzo was the best ever. Excellent staff ready to greet you at the door, and take your bags for you. They really know how to make you feel welcomed. Especially for this foreigner, I never felt more of a welcome. Room service more then exceeded my expectations from the friendly woman that brought our dinner to our room, down to the quality and freshness of the food. What more can I say. 👍❤

Amazing hotel, rooms are a bit on the small side but well equipped. Bed and pillows are very comfortable, espresso machine makes my day better as I like my espresso when I wake up. Breakfast is good but weather was not so good to have the breakfast outdoor and enjoy the view. Gym is so small and not worth for a 5 stars hotel.

The rubber on the toilet seat is worn off, the robes in the room are old and the thread hanging just looking really old. The ladies that had come to do the room seem to only do the bed and the counter was still dirty and sticky from the juice. The buffet breakfast is nothing like the good old days with the Pallazzo. The second day we ordered a hot breakfast off the menu. This still is a lovely property however the standard of the hotel has dropped drastically, I really hoped I had rather booked at the Southern Sun instead.

My daughter and I felt like royalty. One has a sense that the staff know exactly how to treat their guests and has a way of making one feel at home. Nothing felt like it's too much to ask for. The food was amazing. They keep a high standard of cleanliness on the entire property and they take pride in their lovely gardens. I liked the old charm decor of our room. Please would you look at heating the pool at some stage. Either than that. We will definitely be back!!! See you soon 🥰❤

What a beautiful hotel, food is excellent, staff are polite and efficient, the most stunning architecture and statues adorn this place, you have to walk around to experience it all. Definitely going to visit here again.

Gosh. What a nice hotel. The room was fine, it's a bit of a warren upstairs. But all the public areas were great. Nice bar. Wonderful breakfast on the reserve this morning in the winter sun, with lots of birds hopping around. I was amazed in was built in 2000. It's really believable as a grand Italian hotel.

First time there for business with my partner place really beautiful, just wondered why service takes too long the waiter service is not bad but delivery was just too long where is the bar and kitchen located??? Is it upstairs from the patio because honestly we had to wait always otherwise all was good I will still go back but waiters should try a bit of speed. My partner is a regular there so locate me again... soon 💞💟

This is a review for the high tea i attended: the place is beautiful and the service was good, the high tea food was disappointing. The cakes were the worst cakes iv ever tasted, they had this orange boll shaped cheese cake which had zero taste to the point where we had no idea what it was that we were eating. Then there was a chocolate gnash which was dark chocolate and very bitter, no sweetness to it. The savoury options were better but they were so simple and nothing special just bread with some salmon and cream cheese, scons and mini quiche. We left a lot of the food untouched and me and my group though it such a waste of ingredients. Please change your high tea menu.

The one and only palace, fit for any Greek King in the heart of Jozi. Always nice to visit Montecasino, it remains a destination that satisfy both young and old. A family favourite.

Food is amazing. Staff are great. Rooms are a little tired in maintenance, but great experience over all

For such a fine establishment I was really disappointed that they didn't have a drinks menu and they had changed the food menu too, some favourite dishes were taken out of the menu
