The view was so beautiful, the host & staff are friendly though I don't agree with the 5 star rating. There is room for improvement, especially with the breakfast,a buffet would be perfect

This guest house is one of the best I have stayed in. It was so fun being greeted by Snowy the chihuahua. The view was wonderful and the room was clean, luxurious and comfortable. The beds were so comfortable and the bathrooms were spectacular. I particularly loved the shower and the bathrobes were such a nice touch. The service was attentive and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. I would definitely stay here again.

From arrival at the guesthouse, 2guys came down to assist us with our luggage, as we were staying on the 3rd floor. While entering the guesthouse the owner, at reception said to me before you go to your room you have to sign but with a attitude 😒.. I felt like asking my money back... it put me off totally. In our room we were followed by her husband that talked to us, and told us more about the whereabouts of harties. After that I changed my mind of leaving... the next morning as we went down for breakfast, the rest of the guests were already there. The owner then came again to us, greeted and asked how we slept, as I was starting conversation with her, she switched me off and left... I was like really 😕 So I don't know how she is talking about other guests saying we were rude.. I have nothing to hide or gain by saying the truth about your service 🤔 The lady owner really made us fell uncomfortable. How can I speak to her and tell her how she makes us feel , if ever time she us rude and blunt We even left early in the morning and went back late to the guesthouse, it felt like we were in the way, after our activities that we did for the day, we would drive around just so that time can pass. This morning we decided to skipped breakfast (which we paid for)as we felt that we were in the way, and went to wimpy. The penthouse were we stayed was dirty and dusty. The white towels got brown lines on.

Firstly I thank Peter and Susan for making it such a perfect stay for us at El Shadai. Secondly, we had a warming welcome by Susan on our arrival. We actually had our expectations exceeded as we had more than what we have initially paid for we paid for suit 2 and we're given suit 1 with no extra cost. Thirdly, breakfast prepared and served by Peter and Susan was just amazingly perfect and delicious. The place is spotless clean and neat. Big ups to their housekeeping. Lastly, the breathtaking views of the dam and Magalies mountains just sealed the deal for us. Excellent service and hospitality and please keep it up.

My absolute favorite place in the whole of Gauteng and North West Province run by real people.

We stayed for 2 nights in the penthouse, the view was amazing. The facilities are excellent and Peter was very welcoming, a big shout out for breakfast as well! Highly recommended 👍🏻

Very leka place. Great to get out of PTA and felt like a holiday. Rooms, great, comfy and with a great view. Nice and close to restaurants and a few pubs for a change of pace.

The place is at it appears in pictures. The rooms are spacious and have well-thoughtout provisions. I loved the view of the dam from my bed. I loved the electric blanket (Harties was very cold). I loved their breakfast. I loved their hospitality. I'm definitely going back.

This place is simply amazing, the photos on the website does not do this place justice, It is way better than what we expected. The service is amazing the rooms are amazing and the owners make you feel at home from the moment you get there. Breakfast is simply delicious and the views from the balconies simply cannot be explained. Will definitely be returning there soon. Highly recommended. Close to everything in Harties and safe area.

We had a very pleasant stay. Our bags were carried to our room. The bedroom was neat with all necessary amenities. The view from the balcony is breathtaking. The private jacuzzi was our favourite place to watch the beautiful sunset over the dam. The room and balcony were cleaned daily which was nice. The included breakfasts were delicious and made the stay extra special. Thanks Pieter & Susan for welcoming us.

Driveway was too steep and too many stairs. Bed too small after asking for King size and was not comfortable. Towels had holes the first night. Problem with bees in executive suite. Host not very friendly to inter-racial couples. When we arrived we were not properly welcomed instead told to proceed to the dining room and then given the balance amount and asked to settle immediately. I would definately not recommend going there for a relaxing time

Our stay at this awesome guest house was absolutely fantastic! We would like to thank Susan and Pieter for their hospitality and assistance in every way. My birthday weekend was really beautiful and the views from jacuzzi were breath taking! Susan and Pieter catered to us with utmost pleasure. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Totally enjoyed the breakfast. The guest house is a home away from home providing peace and comfort and total relaxation. Suggestions on activities and restaurants was a great tip from Pieter. We stayed in the pent house, suite 4 with its own private splash pool. Very spacious, clean and relaxing. And the views 🤩 Love that the guest house is secluded and yet so close to dinning and shopping. The breakfast was amazing with a gorgeous view of the dam. The owners are so kind and sweet! Would definitely recommend and visit again!

Susan and Pieter are absolutely amazing hosts. From the time my partner and I decided to make a booking at their guest house, we were met with true professionalism! Communicating with them was a breeze through emails and phone calls. They didn't get tired of our questions and queries and were always polite to respond swiftly. Booking the suite we selected was easily done. Upon our arrival we were met by Pieter. He came out to welcome us and offered to assist us with our luggage. Pieter was friendly, calm and collected and took his time to show us around. Covid-19 protocols were followed and we had to sign in accordingly. He took time to show us around. He also showed us our jacuzzi and gave us good tips about the area and restaurants. The views from the jacuzzi area were totally beautiful! Breakfast was served by both Pieter and Susan. Very nice homely breakfast which we enjoyed thoroughly. Loved the fruit salad..😋. Dining area was nicely set up with all we could have asked for, including the views! We really enjoyed our time at the guest house and given the opportunity we would not hesitate visiting again 😁. On site secure parking is available and guests have freedom of movement in and out of the property with the allocated keys. The suite was clean and comfortable. The hosts even had snacks in our room which was a pleasant surprise to us. We enjoyed the air-conditioning in the room which kept us cool. We would like to thank our hosts Susan and Pieter for their great hospitality. We have no complaints at all, only gratitude for the experience we had. Awesome from arrival to departure! 🙌👌

El Shadai provides great rooms with fantastic views in the heart of Harties! The penthouse suite comes highly recommended with a private balcony, pool, spa bath and stellar views of Hartbeespoort dam and surrounding mountains. Sometimes you can even hear the lions roar from the local zoo next to the dam. An unforgettable experience to be sure.
