Words can not even explain how disappointed I am. Don't waste your time going there. The shoreline has not been cleaned in a year. Grass is so long. Rubbish everywhere.

Firstly. At the entrance, guards forced us to pay an entrance fee of R50 per person and an additional R50 for a car. But we were seemingly the only car who paid an entrance fee because our family friends drove through with no resistance along with the other day visitors in the park itself. The litter by the dam bed was excessive along with the almost swamp-like smell coming off it that deters you from even wanting to have a picnic. It was nice (on the way out) to see all the zebra, impala(??) and meerkats but that required driving further into the park where the people having braais and revving their engines weren’t. The guards walked around quite aimlessly and didn’t do much except blend in basically :/

This place has so much potential but there seems to be no interest from management/owners. First of all it took us about 20 minutes just to get into the resort as the booking that we made, was not logged into the system on the day that we were physically there and made the booking & payment. We therefor had no waterfront stand & on entering the campsite was asked our stand number ?? Who knows the stand numbers as most of them are eligible & as for the others, the poles are simply laying on the ground. So we randomly just chose a spot. The stands have random bricks laying around, we had no dustbin and wanted to move a dustbin from another empty stand closer, but is was almost half filled with rubbish & rain water - this dustbin was never cleaned in the 3 days that we were camping even though the cleaners did walk by. The cleaners provided us with a black bag but the ash in our braai was just left - this is usually done at other camping sites. The bathrooms need a serious upgrade & good cleaning - not only are the bathrooms dirty (once a day over a long week-end is not enough) but there is NO hot water. On our first day the geyser was so hot & steaming so badly that the bathroom mirrors were steamed up, BUT none of the hot taps worked?? Second & third day the geyser was simply switched off. Not fun camping with absolutely no hot water. The rules of the resort are not adhered to - we had to listen to blasting music from vehicles that simply drove into the swimming pool area & did whatever they wanted. Rubbish & bottles everywhere. Surely no glass should be allowed at the pool?? There should be visible security/staff to see that all campers abide by the rules & if there are any problems that need addressing, to deal with it. On a positive note, the nice shady trees & animals are awesome (5 stars) - so wonderful having the wildlife walking freely through the campsite. Note : It should be against the rules for campers to chase them around & we did pick up a snare that should have NO place in a resort.

Such a beautiful peaceful place. Play area for kids, a pool, plenty of shady spots to picnic and braii. There were some campers too. There was quite a bit of litter from the visits of the day before. Sadly some people are not conscientious because there are so many bins around the area. Please South Africa let's look after our beautiful family spots in nature.

The place is run down and not maintained. It's so sad to see this once glorious place in such a state of decay. Toilets were dirty, shower drainage not working, basic maintenance not done, etc Not worth paying for.

Eagle waters management SCAMMED me my money!! I booked for weekend stay later March before the Corona outbreak (for the weekend of 17-19 April 2020).. Closer to the date we were advised by the resort to postpone till September (lockdown restorations), which we did. When September came, I was the person trying to communicate with the management I kept on getting a reception guy telling me that they were only open for day visits and that he is still waiting for management to tell him when night stays would be allowed. I had back and forth emails with them. Till this year 07 March 2021. I asked if the money we paid to stay can be converted to a voucher so we can enjoy their day activities. My email was replied to by someone by the name of Neo. He/she apologized and said that the resort was under new management and that I should provide my banking details for a refund.. After sending my banking details they ghosted me. I send countless emails every week with no response.. It's a BIG SCAM

Great location with lots of space for day visits or an overnight, lower your expectations... if you are looking for a 5-start camping experience this is not the place... take your fishing rods or just grab a picnic basket and choose your spot... If you need space for big or small outdoor exhibitions, larger than normal celebrations or festivals this may be the place for you... to ensure the rest of the neighbors get some rest pulling an all nighter may not be the best way to end you evening...

The place is not maintained. Poor service from reception and the tents are in such a state of decay. , there were spiderwebs all over the room, nothing is working in the room, tv was removed, basic maintenance not done, etc Not worth paying for the price should be changed to R300

Ablution blocks at the camping area should be kept clean and be upgraded or relooked at to make a better experience for all especially during public holidays

We were at Eagle waters on the 10/04/2021, early morning. We paid the entrance fee for the day, but wow we were so disappointed. The place is so run down, rubble and logs and hyacinths everywhere, were the fishing spots were. We drove up and down for 20 min to look for a decent spot, then I have tried to clear a spot and that did not even work. Eventually after about 35min we decided to leave, did not even get a refund. I would suggest that they close the gates for at least 2 months to get all this rubble removed and grass cut and etc, as people will not go there unless this has been sorted. I am not sure if it is new owner , but if it is he needs to sort his establishment out.

Hi please advise which website to book on or which contact numbers to call to make a booking. I've made numerous attempts to send emails to the email address on the website and to call the contact numbers on the eagle waters website with no success and I would really like to book accommodation for a trip

Managed and controlled by a Community Property Association, the members put enough efforts to get it on the go...very nice game resort with Zebras and Springboks walking around in harmony. The tents and facilities are in great shape and very much inviting

Not maintained, a lot of litter lying around. After checking it out, and wanted to leave, they did not want to refund me. The entry fees don't seem to be going to very much at all. Really, look for another place to stay.

Shoreline extremely filthy, hyacinth is the least of your problems. From plastics bags and condoms to faeces all along the shoreline.

Poor, Poor, Poor Visited for a music festival. Instructed no alcohol allowed on premises and to check it in for safekeeping until exit. A rule I came to learn was not applied the same to all. Upon reclaiming said alcohol from the offices, the quantity recovered was significantly less than checked in. When I enquired as to this, I was told it was a long weekend and that it was hot. Unethical, exploitative, shameful behaviour by those charged with the safeguarding of grounds and visitors.

Used to be a top place. It still is. But just badly maintained. New management clearly doing bad there.

The resort has been a little run down. Chalets are nice and clean atleast, but units missing alot of cutlery aswell as crockery as what they say they have. Hope for the best for the resort, but we will be coming back. Caught huge fish the weekend.

Scenic views, however it is a little untidy and unkept. It got very crowded towards the afternoon.

  • 1/5 Refilwe N. 3 years ago on Google
The experience was unpleasant, the chalet was not clean enough especially the kitchen. The pool water was green, I didn't feel safe at all because we were the only visitors during that time and strangely it was December. The price didn't meet the expectations, I won't go again.

Used to visit this place, camping as a kid and even back then it was on a sharp decline. I also do not agree with hosting airsoft events at a 'wildlife' resort, or anywhere near Hartbeespoort dam waterfront. The pellets are not safe for the animals and how exactly do they plan on retrieving all the pellets from the water and surroundings? Good to know this is still a venue to avoid.

The facility is welcoming and the staff maintains a professional approach at all times. There's sufficient security which patrols for 24hrs for your peace of mind, the food is excellent while the presentation thereof is world class. In general the facilities are exceptionally clean, house keeping is available around the clock and queries are attended to immediately. Last but not least, there are plenty of activities to cater for all guests. The pricing is quite reasonable which makes this place a must visit for individuals, couples, family, friends and workgroups.

This place has a lot of potential but requires even more money and commitment to make it a great place. We spent a weekend at a campsite over December and the place was empty. Bad: unkempt grass, dirty ablution blocks, dirty pool, closed restaurants, hyacinths blocking any fishing. Good: Staff are friendly, security is tops, we could pick our own camp site (because the place was empty), the daily rate is very reasonable, the views are stunning, the zebras and buck in the area.

The pool need to be cleaned often as possible, children returned bottle cutted feet. Decentralised children play and pool area throughout the park to avoid kids crowding in one area. Avail random security drives for guests

We booked family accommodation for us in luxury tents and for family the camp sites because they could not afford the tents, but wasn’t allowed to visit them, or them us. This was the worst experience i have ever had with a resort. Paid for both stands but since the camping and tents were apart we were not allowed to visit them or they us. For family outings this is the worst place to come. Like in the old apartheid days you’re not allowed to mix with the campers when you live in the tents area. Please do not visit this place. The manager is so nasty its not even true. He refused to give us the owner or manager number. This family weekend turned out horrible. Stupid rules. And had to pay R1300 extra for family to visit us in the same resort just because they camped and we lived in units. I will never come back again

A very beautiful camping venue. Well maintained garden. There is a need to clean next to the dam area. A very tranquil place indeed. Very easy to locate.

Wonderful place to visit. It has been kept updated and I would think due to the covid outbreak funding has been the challenge.

🫀 Staff is friendly, but the owner does not share the same sentiment. Their website states there is a warm water swimming pool but it's ice cold, even colder than the shower water.
