We reached and left in half an hour which they refuse to give me a refund, they lie that they will pay you back but they don't. They offered one night free but I couldn't stay there even for a night. This place needs to update their photos, there is no hot air balloon, place is dusty, beds were dusty, pool is a meter wide all around, not even joking, 3 people can stand in it literally. Huge spiders in the bed room, no air in the bedroom, felt suffocated inside. Kitchen is on the other side of the house as well as TV. The gentleman was friendly but he advised me there's deadly snakes and spiders. We drove to another accommodation which was also safe and less the cost.

Disappointed The place is quiet, in a nice area. The room is nice with wifi and dstv but the hygiene wasn't up to par, our room was never cleaned during the stay. The staff is friendly but the owner not so much. The place is very far from activities advertised in the website so its difficult if you don't have a car, there's absolutely nothing to do inside the lodge. The place is purely self catering no breakfast offered, no restaurant close by, no room service. We were woken up prior to check out just to be reminded that check out is at 11am (felt like we were being chased out) Regret the stay as it wasn't worth the money charged.

Worse experience and place to stay in Magaliesburg region. Dirty smelly rooms, Cat urine smell . No soap or shampoo. Outside gardens and area need a serious upgrade. When my daughter complained to them, they replied NO PERSON WAS "GUN-POINTED to stay at Damascus bush facility! Completely overpriced and disgusting!!

We stayed there for one night and enjoyed it. We arranged for breakfast for the next morning which was really good.

Damascus Bush Lodge was a wonderful stay over in Hartbeespoort. Skeerpoort as a small town on your way to Magaliesburg offered just enough to accommodate our needs. Damascus offered a great stay for our friends Wedding nearby. Great place with friendly staff. I loved the mountain 🏔 view and bird life is beautiful. Will definitely go to Damascus Bush Lodge again. I did read some of the reviews but come on people spiders 🕷 are a part of bush stay - we had no bad experience with spiders. Just saying…thank you Damascus for making our stay special! Best wishes.

What a dissapointment. Photos is misleading not at all as advertised. The selfcatering apartment not up to standard. The bedding was dirty and stained. We had no hot water to shower. When I made a booking the price was R864 but when paying I was charged R950. No explanation by host when queried and she was unable to give us an invoice. She smelled of liquor. Will not recommend this place at all.

Super dissapointing!!!! The advertising used was from a long time ago clearly. The rooms where not properly cleaned we had to first fight with bugs and spiders in the rooms and theres a funny smell in the rooms and the outside smelt like there was a dead animal thrown by the kitchen area. When we asked for the dishwasher liquid we where asked if we drank the dishwasher liquid?! The so called pool is super small,only one person can go in. Seems like the host is always smelling of alcohol because we where also welcomed with a smell of alcohol. That place just needs someone who is willing to invest in maintaing it and im sure people will have a good experience but until then it's a super NO!!!!

There’s no tv, WiFi,fridge let alone a microwave. We were meant to stay two days but slept the night and left the following day. The blankets had stains and we found 2 bugs in our covers. We expected a double bed but it’s two singles joint together so we kept on falling in between. Disappointed to say the least

Not the best place to stay in Magaliesburg - you're able to hear everything going on in the other guests' rooms, the shower gurgled in our room when the other guests used it, a cat sprayed in the communal kitchen so we didn't want to use any of the things, there is NO walking or cycling trail, and there's apparently a security company who patrols to keep you safe but as we didn't hear or see anyone so I think the manager made that up. There are better and cheaper places close by so I'd go somewhere else next time.

I made a booking and payment in full prior to the announcement of the initial lockdown. When the lockdown was announced I called Damascus Mountain Bush Lodge to cancel my booking and sent the all the documents they requested on 24/03/2020. Safarinow contacted me later to find out if they can assist in cancelling, which I agreed to and forwarded them my prior communication with Damascus. Nothing happened, until I followed up end of May, and I was told to expect refund latest first week of July. Third week I followed up,and I was asked to send the same documents I have already sent. I followed up again on 11/08/2020, no response they have gone radio silent both the Damascus and Safarnow. This is a very s***y service
