Rooms were untidy, no TV in the room almost looks like it was stolen, the walls had webs and squashed bugs, there was a bat in the bathroom, no hot water, there was a constant beeping noise in the room, dirty plug points, a horrible smell in the bathroom, grime and dirt along the bathroom tiles, rusty taps. A place that has not been kept well at all. Gross! would definitely not recommend

Enjoyed it there. We had a workshop for students. They really want above and beyond to accommodate the schedule we had. The staff are super helpful. The rooms are a good size. There's WiFi even during load shedding. They have guess heaters in every room.

Went on a game drive (you will see zebras, springboks, giraffes, and other breed of boks-I am so bad with these boks). The rooms are spacious, they have both the shower and bath. The food was served in a buffet style. You can sit around the fire pit on a cold night. We had wine tasting. There is enough parking.

Could not sleep well, as there was a pary going on till 4 in the morning! Other than that nice place during the day, we took a walk and the wildlife was there walking freely with us, it was so amazing. I would recommend πŸ‘ŒπŸ» but first ask if there is a party that weekend!

Great venue to host an event. Short drive out of Johannesburg yet you feel as if you out in the country, very peaceful if you looking to destress and unwind

Watch out!!! LaWiida is great with so called service until a life threatening event causes you to have to cancel your wedding for the time being. Cancellation well within their contract limits and refund agreement reached. They keep promising from all sides it will be done but no payments received weeks later. Very disappointing and not to be trusted.

Booked a honeymoon suite and was given a room with two single beds, spaced apart. Housekeeping did not bring new towels, as I had to use extra due to water from the shower leaking out onto the floor. Housekeeping took my soap that I bought as well as my facecloth. No geyser, it has that instant hot water boiler which means it’s either boiling hot or ice cold. It’s not self catering as they have a kitchen but the kitchen could not accommodate me as they were busy catering for a company that he their work event there that evening. About an hour or so later, I was allowed to then eat from the food that was prepared for that other event. Was no sign of management, check-in, check-out and all queries were handled by bartender. Never again. I don’t recommend and I don’t appreciate being treated with less priority because there is a corporate function at the same time as my stay.

Everything else was okay apart from the fact that the internet connection is not stable. Please work on the wifi.

Conveniently located to the city, but just far enough to help you forget that the concrete jungle exists. Beautifully layed out, with exquisite views! Very friendly and professional staff!

The place is very beautiful I have enjoyed the stay, however I had a bad experience with the room services. One of the cleaning service staff stole my jacket in the closet. When I enquire about it, it took two days to inform me about the whereabout my jacket and ultimately negative response. That was so unprofessional to steal guests belongings. I will never ever sleep in this lodge.

My experience at La'WiiDA Lodge was overall positive, earning it a 4 out of 5 rating. We attended one of Gretha Wiid's wedding sessions at the lodge, which is primarily set up for conferences with breakout sessions. While the conference kept us busy and limited our exploration time, we did notice the lodge's amenities. Unfortunately, the weather didn't permit us to use the swimming pool during our visit. Our sleeping chalet (#26) was comfortable, featuring a spacious shower with gas-heated water, though no bath. The chalet included a well-equipped bathroom with soap and towels provided. The king-size bed was comfortable, and the room had all the expected amenities, including bed lights. The lack of an air conditioning unit in our chalet was a minor drawback. The chalet's positioning allowed us to enjoy views of the bush, increasing the chances of spotting wildlife like deer. The lodge, both inside and outside, is well-maintained. Unfortunately, there is no covered parking for cars. Conference amenities are good, with well-maintained and air-conditioned facilities. The restaurant pleasantly surprised us with exciting and delicious food, deviating from the typical mundane offerings. Breakfast was also a satisfying experience. The bar offered a variety of drinks, and complimentary filter coffee was available on tap. The service was commendable, with our rooms being cleaned, and beds made daily throughout our stay. However, it's worth noting that the lodge's proximity to the R511 road means that, at times, the sound of passing trucks can be heard, which may be a consideration for those seeking a quieter retreat. We participated in a late afternoon game drive, and despite its short duration, it was incredibly rewarding. Feeding zebras bread and experiencing them eating from our hands was a highlight. In summary, La'WiiDA Lodge provided a good experience with comfortable accommodation, excellent food, enjoyable activities, and commendable service. While there were minor drawbacks, such as the proximity to the road, the overall experience was pleasing, and I would recommend it for a relaxing getaway.

I was so impressed with this lodge, staff were friendly, rooms cleaned every day, quite, and really value for money and so close to Jhb. I want to mention how helpful was Shelly making sure I had a good stay. Samu's Spar was delightfully, she is so professional and on site making sure all is great. Her treatment really made me come alive again, her mobil Spar is definitelly a MUST. Jana with her horses was great and it was a out of this world experience and as well a MUST. I definitely recommend this place for people that wants to get away and relax in this wonderfull and one of a kind resort. The fact that one can walk in the bush by itself safe and free of stress with the animals is just priceless. Food was very good and plenty. I am definitely comeback soon as I felt safe and well taking care of

The only thing I enjoyed was the food and the horse riding. Wouldn't recommend sleeping in and if you're not patient and expect great customer service, don't come.

Great location for a bush getaway with the boys. Just ensure you're mentally prepared as the Bush camp where we were situated didn't have hot water.

We had our corporate team building at La'WiiDA Lodge today. We arrived to no one at reception to help us. Eventually a woman appeared who was unapproachable and didn't seem friendly at all. We were told to go to the pool where our outsourced Team Building company met us. Coming form JHB at 7am, needing the toilet after cups of coffee, we arrived to the filthiest toilets which had no toilet paper and uncleaned toilets. We had to wait about 30 minutes for someone to clean and stock the toilets. Not one person from management came to check on us or make sure we had everything we needed. We had to constantly find people to help us when needed. The only friendly staff were the 3 bartenders serving our drinks. Everyone else had sour attitudes and faces. We had an amazing time as a group. However, I would not go back nor stay here if this is the vibe or attitude people receive.

The place is not easily accessible with public transport. The staff hospitality was okay but the food was great. There is also a variety of herbivorous wild game such gemsbok, nyala, zebras and so on

Staff remain friendly and helpful. There was (again) a bat in one of the rooms. They "removed" it the next day, only for the bat to get into another room the next day. Both couples upset. With lock-down at level 1, we were not informed when we booked that rooms would not be serviced " due to covid", disappointing for us. Would be nice if the the coffee, water and towels could at least be refreshed.

Just went there for a breakfast with a group from my church. Food was excellent and the security guard was friendly. I did not have any interaction with other staff members. The facilities are clean and well-maintained and the surroundings are beautiful.
