My family and I really enjoy dining at this Spur. Even while working at a different Spur years ago, I never had any negative experiences with this one. I know what good food and good waitering is, and so do they. As a french fry entheusiast, they're also in my good books. Furthermore, they have some of my favourite beers (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). I definitely recommend going here if you like Spur or want to try it, since the only drawback is that this one gets really busy sometimes (with good reason!). Edit: Two years ago, I wrote the above. It still holds true! Great work!

Prolly this is the most favourite (family and casual) steak place in SA. Every time I go to any branch of Spur, it's hardly quiet. I can't blame it, though; the taste of the steak never disappoints me—juicy and succulent; branches are scattered throughout the country; and so far, the services have been excellent!(⁠◠⁠‿⁠・⁠)⁠—⁠☆ I loved 'em steak with cheese garlic sauce! ❤️‍🔥

Best chilling spot for me and my family. We don't mind driving all the way. Has a best play area undercover and manager here is super and waiters are good. I love the fact that its only Spur no other shops around it, to me its safe, lots of parking for only spur customers.

Very Good food. Service is great but sometimes to overwhelming by waiters asking how you are doing every 2 minutes - 2 much. Very noisy sitting next to the kitchen area. Overall very nice.

Drink date with hubby ( I'm having wine, he's eyeing the menu ;) cool breeze with hot sun outside. It was nice. I liked.

I normally love the food, the atmosphere and service, but will never order their scrambled eggs again. They make it in oil and I was sick for a day after eating it. The complaint was also not handled well. I was offered a new portion after ready advising that I was feeling ill after consuming half the portion.

Excellent service and delicious food from a very versatile menu. One of a few restaurants that serves Drosthy Hof Extra light wine, my wife's choice of wine. Thank you for that! I will recommend this restaurant. Keep up the outstanding service. We will be back soon.

Loved it . I was there 8 December for my birthday and had a fabulous time. Loved the new Updated birthday song but still have good memories of when the guys used to do it with just their voices and clapping.

The service was the best we've had in the last few years. From being greeted with sincere friendliness at the door to our waiter (Schwann) with great recommendations and swift service throughout the evening, we were pleasantly surprised! We never waited for anything despite visiting during loadshedding, and even though it was quite full, it never felt crowded. Would definately visit again.

Bread roll of the prego roll i had was stale and realy not fresh . I asked the waiter for crispy fries . When it arrived it was mushy and realy not crispy fries as i orderd . The beer was cold though.

The food was good as always, they kept Spur standards there. The service was lacking, a mostly empty restaurant during the day yet our waiter was very scarce, had to wait forever for everything.

Do not go to this Spur! If I could give them 0 stars, I would. On the 19th of February, my family and I went to this spur for my mother's birthday lunch. A day later we all fell very ill and we got food poisoning. My mother and I have been in and out of doctors offices and hospital due to the food poisoning caused by this restaurant. I am still dealing with gastrointestinal issues that I've never had before eating at this resturant. This was the WORST restaurant experience my family and I have ever had. Be cautious when eating at this restaurant.

Spare ribs too sweet. Other food tasteless. Air conditioner blows down directly onto certain tables. Spent over R700. Gave Spur points card for swiping. Points did not come through. Was told it is due to loadshedding. To date, still no points. Bill wasnt returned to me after paying cash. Wont be going there again!!

Our waiter Sthembile was an absolute charm. We had a good laugh with her and one can see she has a passion for children as well. Highly recommend.

Still the best place for a relaxing family atmosphere. We love this Spur as it is still Vape and Smoker friendly with the secluded smoking area having huge windows and a seating layout that is not cramped. It's our go to on a busy day or when we don't feel like cooking at home.

Honestly this is a great Spur, the food is mostly on point and typically the waiters are good however the last two occassions I have found the waiters to be somewhat lacking and this evening my burger was ice cold while my father's was the correct temperature and the waitress had an exceptionally bad attitude. Slightly disappointed but nothing major as long as these events are exceptions and not the norm.

It's surely my favorite. Waiters are friendly, always polite, very attentive to my special request, and have never been disappointed. The manager is making sure clients are always happy.

Google did not disappoint when I searched for the best Spur near me. The food was amazing, we ordered the cheddarmelt steak with hot veg and the ribs and wings with chips and onion rings. Every single item was delicious and perfectly cooked. Our waitress, Leago, was very attentive and pleasant. The atmosphere was actually peaceful although they were busy. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.This is our new favourite and we will definitely be coming back soon.

It is a Spur. You know what you are gonna get. Decent food at a decent price. Nothing out of the ordinary. Like eating at home away from home

Thunder Ridge Spur's breakfast is delicious and really great value. Good atmosphere. Great place to visit with family. Friendly staff.

Small pockets of excellence and some of disaster. Our server, Dominic, was as useless as they come. Did not ensure the table was prepared with all required eatery gadgets. Condiments we not wiped of previous patrons mess. Food was cleaned up under the table after previous patrons. Attendance to detail is missing here.

Bad service this past Friday 26/11/2021. Asked for crispy wings got a sloppy mess with sloppy under done chicken skin. Asked for a replacement and the waiter took away my plate. Management comes by and tells us wings can't be made crispy ??? However it had always been made crispy in all spurs, definitely not been made a sloppy mess previously. He told us he can make another batch we agreed. Waited at least 40 min and received nothing. We called the waiter and he was confused, he said he will ask them to make another one only after we followed up 40 min later. We then received the wings 30 min later with no fresh chips or onion rings we were told to eat the cold ones that was served with the first batch of wings. 10 min after that the manager comes and starts clearing the table telling us we need to leave because they close at 21:00. We were served the wings at 21:30 and now being told to leave at 21:40? Disgusting experience from thunder ridge spur and not the first time either. Waiter did not even greet us goodbye everyone just stared and no one even said thank you or anything.

The food is delicious with great serving and best service. The price is reasonable and kids get to have lots of fun in the play area with hight and low slides and the trampoline outside . They have kids and adult manue and the food presentation is lovely . Good food , great service and best moments! !

I am extremely disappointed with the quality of the food from this spur. Twice I had to return the chips as they where overcooked on the outside and raw on the inside We had a bowl of mushroom sauce that had human hair in it and we had to send it back. This speaks volumes about the level of hygiene in the kitchen of this restaurant! This was absolutely disgusting. Our waitress Refilwe was absolutely amazing and helpful. She definitely deserves a raise This was my first and last time that my family will dine in this spur. Not recommended at all, I've never had such an issue with the quality of food from spur before and considering their prices I definitely find the quality of food to be unacceptable, I'm not happy at all.

Loved going there,it was our favourite place to go as a family. Not this time. The waiter didn't give us placemats(even when we asked,his response was do you want placemats?we don't eat without it at home) or something to wipe our hands with,he wore the wrong name tag because his friends wouldn't give his back to him,our sauce wasn't filled and our food was cold. I had enough and just gave it to the dogs. Never again! We usually stock up on vouchers,we spent it all and got the heck out of their. Spur has left such a horrid taste in our mouths that I don't think we will be going back.

Really awesome Spur. Been going to this ons specifically because of their good service, seating around or close to the kids play area. Food is always tasty and fresh. Really 10/10!

Good service. In general, Spur needs to do something about the oiliness of their onion rings. Even when u request that they pay attention to this, they are still soaked in oil and it is very unpleasant

The lady with short hair who was at the front door last night 22/9/2021 ( whom took us to the smoking area and who also cleaned the smoking area) seriously needs to work on her altitude.She literally closed the door in our faces as we followed her into the smoking area and she had a unfriendly attitude towards us.We wanted to leave just as we sat down. Don't get me wrong this Spur has always been awesome and we have been going here for years and this is the Spur we would definitely recommend to people but this lady really has no people skills,she turns her back to one when one speaks to her...Super disappointing...We moved to another table and luckily got a new waitress and we would like to thank this lady (last mentioned waitress)as she was so kind and she delivered a great service.
