Just had lunch. So disappointing. I just don't see the value. Prices are way to high for what is served! My wife had the Hake and Calamari combo which comes with fries. At R194. Absolute rip off! Tasteless. I had the Peri Peri Chicken Wings which was tasty. Not too bad at R139! Would i go again? NO!

I love the look of the place and the island vibe it gives you! The music and the staff are amazing and especially Speedy David, top top! Will be back! The food was amazing and the portions are crazy huge and the cocktails.. To die for 😍 you guys are nailing it!!

If the weather is great (and it usually is), then the atmosphere is exactly how you expect it to be. Reggae music in the background, the dam (fake sea), sweet cocktails and great service and food. It's a sweet little escape that'll make you feel like you're on vacation on an island somewhere. The food portions are big and packed with flavour but the best part for me was the perfectly fried chips. Service deserves more than 5 stars because not only are the staff friendly but they are fast and they work together. Definitely try it if you're in the area.

Not sure why the Google rating is so low but what an incredible find! Absolutely loved this place that we even went back the next day. R&R was the best in town and served well, the service is top notch, great island vibe and the owner / management presence is something to applaud. These guys know exactly how they want to steer their ship with their exceptional staff and hospitality. We had a few snacks too that went down well. Do yourself a favour and pop in!

Great view over a portion of Hartebeespoort Dam from a raised vantage point. Menu is slightly limited but the food was tasty. Nice laid back atmosphere under all the umbrellas

This honestly is a hidden jem, absolutely stunning views and the whole vibe of the restaurant is top class 👏 even the bathrooms are decorated accordingly but could do with more of a clean if I must be honest. In all it was an awesome experience and will definitely be back

The wait staff was amazing! This place has heaters and staff that run out in the pouring rain to help you get from your car to the restaurant with an umbrella. They cater for every kind of family. We were a family of 20 that rocked up unannounced and they waited on us with a smile!!! Definitely recommend this place.

We weren't planning on going in but when we spotted the adorable doggo beckoning us to come in, we had to stop and grab drinks. Had a great time talking to James and had an overall enjoyable experience.

Situated just above the road going past Hartbeespoort dam. Without the trees there would be a very nice view to the dam. The meal was quite decent and the service was also quite standard. The was raining on the day we went there but I’m sure it’s a better place to be at when it’s nice and hot.

Love the atmosphere. It really has a good vibe. But the food was horrible. Bunny chow did not taste like a curry bunny, but like chicken stew. The wings were dry and burnt. When we received the bill, the 10% was already added with the total, the waiter did not say anything, feels like I was trying to be ripped off. We stopped at a garage close by just to get the taste of the food out of our mouths.

Location of the restaurant means you'll get a nice view while seated outside: the dam to one side, and the mountains peaking on the other side. Unfortunately, this is where the positives end. 1. I kid you not (check attached pictures), when we checked the cocktail menu on our table, there was a large piece of gum stuck to it. We'd to scrap it aside to read the finer details of the menu. Even the salt shakers showed evidence of little to no cleaning between customers. 2. Menu. Going through the food menu, there are surprisingly very few options to choose from. I divide the menu into four basic items: steak, hake, ribs, and burgers. 3. Prices. Prices are very high for the small quantities that you get. We ordered 600g ribs to share and the resultant plate was highly underwhelming. It was divided into 3 small pieces, with chips on the side, and 4 "onion rings". Besides the "onion rings", the food itself was actually delicious. But it was so little for the price R240. One hungry person could easily clean up that plate. 4. Drinks. The alcoholic drinks were in good order except for the ridiculously high prices. I personally ordered a fruit cocktail, and it was horrendous. The closest description of the taste is, if someone poured some water into Liqui fruit orange juice. It was thin, discoloured, and almost transparent. To their (slight) credit, they replaced the drink with a version of fruit cocktail objectively better after I complained. The waiter says the taste was because there was ice in the drink but I swear, there wasn't a drop of ice in the glass when I got it. 5. Tipping. Again, I kid you not....this restaurant, like others at this location, uses a billing system where a 10% tip is already built into the bill. This amount shows before the actual food & drinks total, meaning its very easy to miss. Adding insult to injury, there is a large space after the bill total to add a voluntary additional tip over and above the audaciously placed 10%. If you miss the inbuilt tip, you're likely to add probably a minimum of 10% on the bill amount, meaning you'll be calculating the tip amount using a total that already has the tip!! Overall, while the service was not unfriendly, our waiter was useless in the sense of providing us with concrete tips on how to navigate their menu to get a "better" deal. I feel like the 3 or so restaurants at this place are taking advantage of their prime location to arbitrarily charge whatever they want for very little quantities. In total, I spent R509 for 600g ribs with chips & "onion" rings, 2 alcoholic beverages, and one glass of fruit cocktail. If you made it this far down, you probably care to hear my recommendation about this place, and here goes: Do not come to eat here. Not just this restaurant specifically, but all of them at this location. It's not worth it.

Nice vibe and muscic. Not a wide variety on the menu to choose from basically just jalapeno popper, wings, burgers and some basic see food or steak. Quite EXPENSIVE!! We ordered burges, must say it's big with a big portion of chips. It says it's served with chips and onion rings we each got literally one onion ring on top of the burger. Burger was delicious though, service not bad. They automatically add 10% tip to the bill even if you are just 2.

Nice atmosphere good scenery. Felt like being at a resort enjoying the drinks and a good meal. Was sceptical when we parked the car but as we entered the place the music and nicely colored decoration changed my mind. This is a positive vibe place.

Lots of seating in the restaurant and it has a pretty view, the parking is a bit of an issue on a busy day. We waited quite a while for our drinks ( which was coke and sprite)...There is only 1 chicken burger on the menu and when it arrived, the ingredients like pineapple which are listed on the menu was not even on the burger, the burger was okay, but needed more sauce.

Had a lunch here and I'm never disappointed. The food is always top quality and the service is excellent. It is also very pretty and clean. A+

Beautiful! Beautiful! Absolutely beautiful! I Absolutely cannot fault anything. The food was great, well prepared and fresh. The service was great, the staff is friendly and the car guards are helpful too. The atmosphere is very chilled with Jamaican music playing, with the restaurant giving you the beautiful view of greenery around and the dam! Worth every cent spent.

We decided to go for bruch as we were too early for our tour ,apon arriving we were greated friendly and ask where we would prefer to be seated ,we op to have a balcony view over the dam ,drinks were service with a smile and the waiter even got us more ice on request, the food was delicious and we added some of their great desert to top it off ,the outside area even have mist sprinkler to cool of the raging heat ,great serves and food wel deserving a visit

The atmosphere was great and the food was delicious. Speedy was a awesome waiter and looked after us the whole time. We loved the music and enjoyed the views very much! I would definitely recommend Barbados to anyone passing through.

The vibe at this place is something to experience. It makes you wish you were at a beach resort. The service was great and the food portions are huge! Try the cocktails, you won't be disappointed.

Our waiter was nice but the place wasn't all that good. Even though it's meant to be rustic I can't help feeling sanitation is something to work on. Also some ppl were seated to close us for social distancing in my opinion.

Absolutely appalling food for absurd prices. The whole experience was hideous to say the least. My prawns had been forgotten in a pan it seemed as they were burnt. Steak also miles overcooked. They can't even perfect a simple cheese sauce. Guests are requested to share tomato sauce amongst each other as it seemed they had ran out. Not recommending anyone to support these fools. The manager couldn't keep up with all guests and had to run around like a headless chicken. Totally unprofessional..Awful awful experience..

The best food and Reggae experience. However, during the December holidays they raised the volume of the music unnecessarily. Was not at all pleasant. So visit this fantastic restaurant STRICTLY from January to November!!

Terrible service, arrogant attitude. I rarely write scathing reviews, but the attitude of the manageress warrants a truthful unedited review. The food was unacceptable by any standard, I ordered a t-bone medium rare and it arrived cold and cooked beyond well done, the chips were dripping oil, mostly uncooked and cold. The manageress made us wait for 30mins before coming to our table and then still had the audacity to ask if I couldn't just eat my food as it was, after I refused she still put the meal on the bill! Don't waste your money or your time!

Jonath was the waiter that provide excellent service and he is very friendly. The burger was top notch and service in general was efficient and friendly.

Barbados Bar and Grill has a wonderful 'vibe' with apt music (although I couldn't have sat any closer to the speaker - it must have been rather loud for those sitting closer). The food was good although very limited for vegetarian options. In all a great experience and I'd happily visit again, but please can you chill your white wine- it's not meant to be room temperature when 32degrees outside 🙃

This is a really nice bar and grill. The service there is excellent and the waiters is so friendly and provided excellent service. The music and theme there is excellent! I felt as if I'm on holiday.

The service overall, bad Orders were mixed Ordered chicken bunny, but it came with chicken n beef, more like stew. Our complaints to management were ignored time and again. Atmosphere and vibe good, however they cannot handle pressure when busy.
