Very disappointing experience! We were checked into a room full of cockroaches everywhere!- parading on the bed, on the floor even in the bathroom! When the hotel stuff was notified, he told us we can’t get a refund instead he offered bug spray so we could be their pest control! He later moved us to another room, which was smaller and cheaper than what we paid for! The linen looked old and dirty. The shower didn’t look safe to get into. In the morning we had to contact the manager, not the other way around showing how apologetic she was. In order to get the money we were owed back! The parking a lot is also very dodgy and far. A proper back street ally in Johannesburg. Definitely wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

One of your waiters tipped himself double what I initially tipped him midnight on Saturday. The bill wa R620 and made it R700(including tip). He added an extra R50 to our already existing bill which ended up being 750. I don't even remember his name but he speaks sotho or tshwana and his shift was supposed to end at 11pm on Friday(11 August) but ended up stretching it to 2 am(12 August)

Went there yesterday with my friend and had the worst experience. There was flies everywhere and when I spoke to the owner about it he seemed like he wasn’t really bothered and he had the most outrageous reaction when I told him that we don’t want the food anymore.

Went there with my boyfriend for lunch on Tuesday and got the worse service from the lady serving us. She never introduced herself only thing I know is she is a light skinned with a tattoo. She gave us ATTITUDE, had lack of EMPATHY and UNATTENTIVE. At some point she brings water in a plastic bottle then when I asked her if its Still water she impertinently replied with {you asked for water, didn't you?}. They have such AMAZING FOOD but it just sucks that we got such an INSOLENT, DREADFUL, DISCOURTEOUS waitress who clearly hates her job.

When I'm in Johannesburg, I will without a doubt visit The Bannister hotel. It is owned by an amazing guy Andrew Bannister, lovely staff, great food, great music and one of the best night clubs experiences. I love the ground floor and second floor accommodations, the ground floor is very spacious whilst the 2nd floor is very modern. I wouldn't recommend the budget option on the 3rd floor but if you've miss calculated your spending on alcohol, you have a backup under R300. I recommend going for rooms ranging from R570 - R900 as those are the best rooms the Bannister has to offer. The receptionist Geraldinho is also an absolute gem, he was very helpful in getting me an Uber ride to my selected destination and all round helpful in showing me the best things for me to do in the city.

For a good Thursday evening chill session after work. Great vibe and fairly good food. However some items on the menu are not available which is rather disappointing 😑

Few minutes from the Jhb city center and just a moment away from the M1 free way, and the staff crews are so welcoming. This is one of the best choices around the SA's busiest city.

Very bad smell in rooms, floor sticky, some rooms above a night club. We cut short our stay.

Cosy bar for city slick tourists. The hotel I am not so sure of, although it is probably a good option if one wants to be qithin the city center and access urban vibe pubs and clubs. A few minutes walk from Gautrain

Pizza out of the supermarket fridge and the waiters let us wait so long before we could pay and get out if there. At least the room looks nice

The Bar is Great Place to hang out. Go to this place on a Friday and enjoy South African music and enjoy the food. It's a great place and also in a safe location. Would go once again. I didn't check into the hotel though. I just went into the ground pub for the hotel.

I was last at Bannister about 6 years ago and needless to say I was impressed when I went back this year that they have managed to maintain the standard

Not impressed about the hotel at all, I wouldn't go back there. The only great thing about the hotel is that it's located at the heart of Braam so it's great if you want to explore Braam. However not so much if you would prefer some peace and quiet

The DJ on Friday the 3rd brown skinned guy. Brought the fire into the house. And we complemented it accordingly. It was fabulous

Food took way too long on a non busy evening and didn't taste good. If your looking for a food spot this isn't it but nice vibe if you're looking to just chill and have a drink

The bar and restaurant is beautiful with great service from when you enter at the door. But the place is always packed and quite noisy. It is a great place to grab a few drinks with friends or with the boys to watch a rugby or a soccer match

Fantastic on a Friday and Saturday night. Very fun, very lively. Perhaps too full, avoid if afraid of catching corona.

Enjoyed the chicken pizza. Good vibe. Only disappointing thing was having one waiter and barman serving the whole restaurant while the others were on their phones instead of assisting. Not a good image.

Well decorated bathroom and room but it was rather cramped. There was underground parking but it was not guarded. From the parking to the hotel you have to walk through an alleyway. There is a bar/restaurant in the hotel that serves breakfast. The location is accessible and has many stores around it.

I love everything abt this place, from the first time General Mustang, from the Jaquar's family - S0MA'H0RSES introduced me to this place, ... you'd love the entire team who render different services with passion, with love and their openness. Banister is home to the Brammies, a vibrant place around Braamfontein where u can eat, play, stay nd u can even to do your work while being entertained. Clubbing at Banister will leave u with unforgettable memories!

It's an OK plac, the restaurant that is. Nothing to right home about. Just a very simple place that has a good selection of beverages. Coffee is trying at best. Place could do with alot of improvement

Pretty chilled vibe during the day but can get wild (In a good sense). If you're a party person and want to experience the Jozi groove, you should check it out

Love the hotel. The restaurant is great. Service is excellent. Only gripe is the parking lot is a bit a drama to get in and out of but otherwise its great.

Its an okay place but they need to improve on their table they are old and shakey. Very unsafe for the beers, at one time I had to jump for my falling glass when the table shook🤣🤣🤣🤣. Besides it's a cool place to chill and the servers are very nice.

The cleaners do a very good job...the room is small and there's no wardrobe, refrigerator and microwave but there's free breakfast and ice on request. The staff is friendly and it's in the heart of Braamfontein which is nice.

The hotel and our restaurant and bar are casual, warm and welcoming, Across Mandela Bridge from the inner-city, the district is one of the most exciting area of Johannesburg for artists, foodies opposite The Neighbourgoods Market, Great Dane and Kitchers hipsters bar. Its a vibrant space for musicians, academics & many of Joburg's corporate to meet and socialise

I had the worst experience. The sheets were not clean. Couldn't shower because the hot water was no available. If you prefer peace and quiet, don't go there because you'll sleep in the early hours of the morning due to the noise

Nice chill place on a Sunday but I'm sure it gets busy on weekend nights. Food is good and reasonably priced. Drink are what you would expect from a bar. Service is great.
