We conquered the mountain 💪💪. Three hiking trails. Did the 6 km….. up the mountain. This one’s not for the faint hearted. Steep climb with a lot of loose rocks. Went down a couple of times. Think we took the animal trails a couple of times 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Really enjoyed this one. The cost is R95, but you get a voucher of R40 back to spend at the Restaurant. The Glen Palms are next to a beautiful blue swimming pool and the food is 👌👌We had the Line fish and it was prepared to perfection. This Lodge has everything. Entertainment for the kids, beautiful accommodation, SPA, hiking trails, tented camps and so much more. Nice weekend getaway.

The lodge is set in a lovely nature filled garden with the most beautiful pond and grass area to enjoy. The staff were helpful in getting us to our business lunch and very welcoming. The hotel obviously catered the event. Table setting was plain and simple, however the food wasn't all that great. They do not cater for vegan or halaal at all and did vegetarian poorly. It's a lovely place to stay, although I would just take my own food or order from some place nearby.

We spend 3 really boring days there. There was absolutely nothing to do after the spa treatment. The room was outdated and the bathroom had a strong smell. The TV had 5 or something really basic channels. There were no hikes or any activities provided by the lodge. Although breakfasts were ok, lunches and dinners were beyond disappointing.

Spa Treatments awesome. The views are very relaxing to look at and be around. A feel of tranquility and absolute best if you are looking for a peaceful place to unwind. The food scrumptious. Serviced by friendly mannered staff. Definitely going back to sleep over soon.

Your lodge takes into account all details including the small ones that you may think go unnoticed. The breakfast spread was vast and delicious and the staff friendly, efficient and happy to assist. The room was spacious and pleasant and the shower was perfect. We roamed around the property always exploring a new adventure or activity. We are looking forward to returning for a longer stay!

Would definitely recommend for getting out of the noisy city life! Garden cottage was very nice and peaceful, food was amazing and the spa was one of the best spa’s we have visited! Really professional and friendly service all round!

Great grounds but service is lacking. They'd deleted our reservation on arrival for no apparent reason and it took an hour to clear that up. Our room had a broken AC that wasn't fixed in spite of asking for a repair. Beds were hard and not very comfortable to sleep on. Food is alright. Best part is no doubt the surrounding area including a hike along the river.

Our wedding guests stayed overnight at Glenburn Lodge following the wedding of Jarryd and Sharleen Bath. In the months leading up to the wedding, I had been in constant communication with a staff member to ensure that all the bookings were in order and to provide proof of payments. I even meticulously created a spreadsheet that listed the names of our guests and the amounts each room was supposed to pay on arrival. These were guest who had already paid 50% Deposit. I have to commend Glenburn for the spacious, neat, and comfortable rooms they provided for our guests. The accommodations were truly five-star quality. However, there were a few hiccups that marred our experience. The morning after the wedding, one of our guests, who had already paid in full, was informed by reception that they hadn't paid and needed to settle their bill. This was highly frustrating, as I had repeatedly requested that our account be reconciled and the outstanding amount be clarified before the wedding. To add to our frustration, we later learned that a second guest was similarly accused of not paying, which turned out to be untrue. To resolve these issues, my husband and I spoke with the reception to schedule a meeting to go through the guest list and identify any discrepancies. However, during this time, we were locked out of our room, despite having been in communication for months and having paid for 33 rooms and 63 guests. I must emphasize that there was a payment from us that had not been properly accounted for, and we are still awaiting clarification and resolution from Glenburn. On a positive note, the breakfast with our guests was superb, and the food, service, and the chefs preparing the meals were truly exceptional. While our experience had its share of challenges, I hope that these issues can be addressed and resolved in the future to ensure a smoother and more enjoyable stay for other guests.

Lovely venue with fantastic scenery and hiking trails...however, the trails are seriously lacking proper marking. The sad and shocking part of the otherwise idylic surroundings, is the "Sewage Canal" (previously known as the Blaauwbank River) that runs through what can only be described as one the most scenic hiking trails in this area. The overwhelming stench of raw un-treated sewage can be detected hundreds of meters away, depending on wind direction. Thick filthy foam covers the water in various locations, and I suspect that nothing but nasty things can be found in it. I am sure that if all the surrounding land owners stand together, something can be done about it. Otherwise....disaster awaits.

One of our Big 5 best places to visit in JHB. Rooms are beautiful. Staff great, especially Ricky. Lovely Sunday buffet. Rock pool beautiful...just miss the Jacuzzi. Love the little games room at the bottom by the patio restaurant.

A beautiful paradise with wonderful staff. My husband and I highly recommend this lodge. It has so many pools and activities such tennis, hiking, jacuzzis, a spa, putt putt , chess, etc. The gardens are beautiful and so is the food. Can’t wait to return.

While my recent business trip stay in room 208 was disappointing due to the lack of WiFi and hot water, the food provided was amazing and there were many options to choose from. The hotel staff did eventually assist with the WiFi issue after several attempts, but I would not recommend this room for business travelers due to the lack of amenities.

Business or pleasure this is a great place to stay. Welcoming atmosphere, it could be a wonderful family outing/stay opportunity. Inside the resort there is also a nice waterfalls that you can enjoy watching 🙂

We were there for our mini honeymoon this past weekend. I was extremely impressed at the location, the facilities and especially the scenery. We got our room (garden view) and again, very impressed with everything UNTIL there were a ridiculous amount of baby cockroaches on the tea station table. Inside the container where the teabags/coffee and milk were kept, under the telephones even inside the kettle. This for me is extremely extremely unhygienic. Large spider webs on the ceiling with spiders. I think, especially because of the location more attention needs to be given to cleaning rooms, it's also not extremely bright in the rooms so perhaps these things are missed when cleaning. I really would have rated my stay 5 stars if it wasn't for this unpleasant situation I experienced. Perhaps it was just my room. I couldn't even take a proper picture of all the cockroaches, as I lifted one object, they all ran in different directions. Unfortunately, I could only get one at a time.

We booked a couple's package at the spa. If I could give them a 10 stat rating I would. It was absolutely effing amazing. We've had treatments before, but this was outstanding. Thank you so much team for an amazing day. Only suggestion is to provide more water to drink.

Outstanding resort on the countryside of Johannesburg. Oversized rooms, with plenty of storage, two rain shower sprays in a large bathroom. Immaculate white robes and slippers, luxurious bedding and mountain vistas made this stay idyllic.

The Sunday buffet at the Restaurant is fantastic. Best I've had in a long time. Very wide variety of starters. Meat was juicy and tasty. Large selection of tasty desserts. Really enjoyed it.

Had a great time here with my family. Very peaceful and beautiful. Tons of entertainment and the best putt putt course I've ever played. I was unsatisfied when I rented a bicycle. The brakes were not working and they had no helmet for me to wear. Other than that I enjoyed my stay with friendly staff and a beautiful scenery.

Great location, beautiful venue but the cleanliness of rooms and the fact that most of food is still Carvery leaves a bit to be desired especially during Covid

  • 4/5 Kagiso P. 2 years ago on Google
It's a great place to get away from the city. It is very quiet and the views driving into the premises are just wonderful . If you living around Pretoria and Johannesburg . I would highly recommend it for some down time . Tip from me try the couples massage . Very professional and very clean in terms of COVID protocol. We tried the restaurant by the pool and we were disappointed by their menu items. They have few options and on the day we were there their card swipping machines were not working . That dampened up the mood a bit . But again if you looking for massages I would recommend it . .also steep walking paths so should you bring someone who has issues walking be aware of that . I guess it can't be helped it comes with the mountain views

Very nice place in general. not sure why the gardens are not well kept throughout. Some areas are a little overgrown..... You step out of a very nice room to an unkept garden... Just cant understand it.

I just wanted to compliment you and all the staff at Glenburn Lodge. We had a wonderful Christmas Day at your venue. Service was great. Decor beautiful and the food was amazing. The musician also completed the days event with his tasteful choice of music that catered for all.  Well done!! We look forward to visiting again.

Awesome venue with even better service. Only issue during our stay. The Saturday live act in the dining room is too loud. Two people sitting at a 2 person table cant have a conversation as we cant hear each other. It might seem small but it does mess up your experiance and is unfortunately the thing that will be remembered

Thank you Glenburn for making our wedding anniversary special. The room was beautifully decorated on our arrival, The picnic basket was nicely stocked and service by front desk and management was tops. Thank you especially to the GM for the bottle of wine with our dinner. This was not part of our package but hugely appreciated. I can recommend this venue for its facilities and serenity

Very beautiful experience. Beautiful setting and scenery. Catering was also very well done. Function staff just could have been a little more proactive; In terms of welcoming guests and explaining conferencing guidelines or arrangements.

It was to be a special occasion. A birthday present to my granddaughter and an introduction to the world of massages and pampering. Well what a disappointment! The welcome was luke warm and after a while both my daughter and I got the impression that there was either a labour dispute or we where nothing but a nuisance to the staff. The preparation was poor. An invitation to coffee ( a very cold day 7degrees on the 21May)was so necessary however the water wasn’t even boiled yet and had to be pointed out. In short the “breakfast” was most unsatisfactory. The organization was dismal. Being a very cold day the rooms were freezing , no preparation in warming the rooms prior the therapy. The bed was not checked for function ability and had to be fixed. The air con. was not functioning and the room never warmed up throughout the massage. The therapist was good her product knowledge however was poor. The value for money was definitely not worth it. I will certainly not recommend.

Beautiful rooms with a fantastic view of the surrounding areas, stream and the hills. Cold plunge pool with warm jacuzzi available to all hotel guests. Has a spa on site, that offers all you would need to relax. Such as massages, Rasul steam treatments, manicures, pedicures, facials. Numerous mountain bike trails and hiking trails easily accessible from your hotel room. A great spot to find yourself for a few days, when you need to unwind from the stress of the world.

Our weekend Away was amazingly breathtaking. The tranquility peace, quiet, and lush gardens were just beautiful. Small waterfalls all tucked away made it even more gorgeous. The lodge is big and well spaced out. 2 amazing pools, one which is the rock pool and a jacuzzi, was all 1 needed to relax and unwind. The breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all scrumptious, that dinner surely blew my mind. If you want to spoil yourself, this is the place to be.
