Clean💯 Nice view 💯 Beautiful pool 💯🔆 Peaceful garden 🪴♻️✅ Amazing fulfilling buffet breakfast 🍳 Friendly staff 😊 Signed in around 4am ,the reception welcomed me very warmly and smiling. The room was clean ,the sheets were clean , hairdryer provided, shower gel,cap ,soap all provided. There is air conditioner . This was a top notch at a very reasonable pricing 🥰. One place I can rest my head at on a vacation 💯🔆♻️

I found the hotel to be ideally situated between Joburg city, UJ, and Wits.Breakfast and dinner were always irresistible. Friendly and professional staff. Highly recommended if you need hotel accommodation in Jozi.

I selected the Executive room because I work from my room, need good connectivity, and do enjoy a few extras. Apart from a spacious room with many of the comforts one expects when paying a little more my stay has been a series of disappointments. The room; spacious and comfortable. Unfortunately whomever selected the lounge chairs has never tried sitting in one while engaging in an extended phone conversation. They are simply uncomfortable. The air conditioner is old and noisy but everything else is (budget) fresh and clean. Servicing of the room fell short on day 2; the coffee, sugar & milk was not replenished. This is simply poor staff training. The shower; is in the bath and unfortunately the bath does not drain quickly so a shower ends up with ankle-deep water in the bath. Onto Reception staff. All that can be said is they are functional. Each day after checking in that I walk past reception I get not even a nod. The restaurant; this is certainly focussed on offering nothing more than sustenance. The first night I elected to order the lamb chops (which I was assured had been served multiple times that night). The chops were very good. Unfortunately the potato was cool and the veg cold. I returned it to the kitchen and received back steaming hot veg, but even cooler potato and by now the lamb was cold too. The second day I ventured the buffet; under-seasoned and basically volume grub. Simply put; no respect from the kitchen as to what is served. So if you are looking for a comfortable bed well located and have no interest in having "an experience" then this is the venue you should choose.

Such a great place to stay even with kids. Great food and lovely stuff. Shout out to Tshegofatso at the reception. Thank you for assisting me with a smile

It was excellent. Maybe a bit slow food wise with breakfast but I think they did not expect so much people. But all in all excellent my family enjoyed it. Will come in summer again and use the pool.

The experience at the hotel is frustrating, especially the dining hall experience. The dining wall is under staffed and still uses manual papers for everything. Often they house schoolers from deferent schools ( primary school kids) and traffic in the dining hall is so bad you end up not eating . You try order something lite to so u can improvise and eat in your room the food takes over 50 minutes to arrive . Honestly this is one of the worst experiences I am currently having at the hotel. Oooh 🤣🤣🤣sometimes u struggle for ice 🧊… like ice cubes to put in ur drinks as the rooms don’t have fridges 😱😱

Could get the booked room. Had to wait to get it since it was occupied in our booked slot. Place is quite easy to locate. Rooms are decent. Breakfast timings are little odd. Could have been a bit flexible. Otherwise everything is fine.

Poor service, took over half an hour to check in due to "slow system". Guests in the room next to me made noise and screamed until early hours of the morning even after me complaining to reception. They are unable to enforce a no noise policy after a certain time. I expected better service. Other than those issues, the room is great, clean & spacious and the breakfast is great too.

I just needed a bottle of mineral water after arriving from a late evening airflight. It was 9:45pm and the kitchen “closed” at 9.30pm. As a regular customer of Milpark Garden Court I have noticed a decline in service and hospitality here since COVID. I hope someone reads this and looks into the state of service there because it can be and was previously an amazing experience as a guest.

The room was ok, vey hot and stuffy. I slept with my windows open because the aircon was so noisy and I had to be considerate of the other guests. The projector was not working on the first day and it took a big chunk of our programme. Again could you please check your projector the day before the conference? Food..... it was a buffet but the choice was minimal and the desert was the same from Sunday to Thursday Jelly and custard. The staff was very friendly and helpful

Garden court milpark does not have room service. Imagine being tired from a long day I had and to go downstairs to fetch the food 😒 and their room services are so slow 😑

I've spend a week there for business, and i must say the experience in the hotel was tops, the staff is helpfull and always friendly. The rooms is cleaned everyday to a high standard. I'll recommend it to anybody. The food is excellent and more than enough to eat at your choice.

When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted with big smiles and the staff were amazing. Got to our room and it was beautiful and spacious. I am really impressed with my experience at Garden Court Milpark. I would definitely recommend it...

I enjoyed my 4 day/3 night stay. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Hotel was less than 10 min from wits uni which was great.

The on-site facilities closed early...we booked a king bed suit and got 2 double which was changed again after protesting. The food was mediocre for the price and undercooked. The overall stay wasn't too bad for the price. The hostess and staff were very friendly however and made the experience lovely

The service at this place is a shock. If you want to receive your food and drinks in a timely matter then don’t book here. The buffet was nice but when ordering food expect to wait a very long time or even better you won’t even get your food

Garden Court Milpark is the Southern Sun hotel with the worst service. I have stayed in many Southern Sun hotels, but I am shocked at the bad service provided at Garden Court. They can't assit or help you with anything. Every single staff member will refer you to someone else and at reception they will tell you to sort something out when you check out, just because they do not want to go through the trouble to help you and hopefully it is someone else's shift when you check out.

Staff are rude not willing to help at all we booked in after confirmed over the phone that we could check out a little later around 11:30 or 12 pm the lady over the phone told us 12pm is latest checkout and it’s fine if we checkout that time but when we got there the lady at the desk with a terrible wig I didn’t get her name the wig was distracting she basically told us no 11am is latest and they will charge us if we stay later she was rude with her ugly wig she also couldn’t find our booking and got extremely cocky assuming we didn’t pay but found that we did pay and wouldn’t assist us with the next day breakfast as we wanted an early breakfast due to a early meeting we had to go to but she said she won’t be there in the morning so she can’t help I won’t be staying here again employees are just rude with ugly wig installations. Shower took forever to get hot and the water didn’t drain properly you basically shower with a puddle by your feet it’s disgusting.

Dissapointed at the lack of service. As a customer I don't want to hear excuses. Arrived for check in and was told that the rooms were not ready due to a 100% occupancy the previous night. How is this an excuse and the client's problem at an hotel establishment? We could only occupy about 2 hours after the stated 14h00. But we were firmly told that we HAD TO CHECK OUT at 11am the next morning. The breakfast was really not something to be excited about. A large printed notice stated that due to severe egg shortages only 2 eggs per person were allowed. I understand that, but magically the omelette station was also taken away. So why can I not have a 2 egg omelet if I choose? Again excuses without good solutions at the cost of the (paying) customer. No cold meats, no nice cheeses, no nuts or seeds. This is a budget breakfast at best. Not what I would expect from a Garden Court. Maybe a Road Lodge.

There's r flats blocking d beauty of the hotel. There's no sufficient space at d entrance. It's a road then door immediately mxm. Dinning Hall looks exactly like boarding school dinning Hall. Not on hotel level at all. Food! 🤮. Rooms are the only thing Dats on hotel 5 star standard. Outside n dinning Hall are on 1 star grading 😏. There is no bar where u can unwind. I won't refer anyone n will never ever think of coming back. U even have to pay for parking 😡. I've never been to a hotel like this one. M truly disappointed.

The service and room was great and the location if you need to be arpund the universities. It is however loud with all the student accommodation right next to the hotel. Feels a bit unsafe when you need to go out in the evening.

Noisy with half naked wet children running in and out in lobby and hallways till very late at nite from pool area. Breakfast served late and with stale old croissants. Poor service. Way to over priced for a hotel rated 3 stars.

Worst place you could ever come to!If hygiene is your preference don't come here, with staff that can't acknowledge their wrongs! I found a snail in my spinach during their buffet and called them to question it then they bought a chef to say it's their spices worse none of the spices the chef bought looked liked a round shell snail and they say it's on my mind! How on a earth a spice would look like a snail. With no remorse they don't even apologize for their food and say I'm that delusional to say a spice is a snail. The only thing they could say is to test if it is indeed a snail as if they will come clean with the results while i already consumed the food.

The poorest service you could ever get in a hotel. Staff - very arrogant. Everything is just worse when a company booked for you - it's like you repulse them that you have all this allowance, so they come with these ridiculous restrictions on drinks and stuff. If you want a peace of mind don't come here.

1280 per night. Extremely poor breakfast. Gym equipment was not working and I complained but no one fixed it. This is an INSULT to the tsogo sun brand.

Rooms are spacious and clean .Heaters work well. If u book with breakfast and are looking for halaal food then you will only get eggs and fruit salad unfortunately. The meat section is compromised.

The staff were amazing and very helpful. The rooms were absolutely clean including bathrooms. The breakfast also was really really good. I was truly fascinated that the rooms had a modern Russel Hobbs hairdryer compared to most hotels having the old, low powered hairdryers. Definately will go again. My kids and I really enjoyed our stay.

Some places are built for just resting your head where some can almost make you forget that your just in a place of rest. Definatley recommend it at its price feels like a bargain.

Comfortable beds but otherwise a poor experience. The AC units in rooms are very loud, the breakfast in the morning is terrible and elevators and general areas are untidy and understaffed. This is a 2 or 3 star hotel at 4 star prices.

Look the room was great but service could have been a bit friendlier. The bar was closed. Pool area was also empty. It's safe though which is good in this area.

I'm not sure why our room didn't have a bar fridge for our small items (water etc). The bathroom has no windows or extractor fan which meant the steam triggered the smoke alarm. Reception however, checked on us when this happened. Room and common areas are neat and clean. Located close to amenities. Safe parking.

Not a great breakfast. Breakfast is served at 7am. Upon arrival there were government officials who took all the food. There was barely food to dish up to. No plates were available and no seating for the guests. No one cleaned up after them only when we complained to management. Food choices were not great in comparison to other hotels.. will not be staying there again

Very very disturbed at the lack of hygiene at Garden Court Milpark. The kettle had water standing in it for months (if not years) qhich had gone moldy and grotesque by the time I saw it. The room was very dusty. Had to clean it down myself when I got there. The entrance to the hotel is on a blind turn right off a really busy road so very stressful driving in and out of there. The aircon was a very old fashioned, outdated unit that blows dust into the room when you turn it on. On a slight brighter note, I did receive good service from Qebile so thank you very much for that. But please do make sure your rooms are clean.

  • 1/5 Fathima K. 1 year ago on Google
Rooms are neat but towels smelt musty, the parking is across the road making it a schlep if you have lots of luggage and you have to pay additional surcharges which are not included in the advertised price. Staff are friendly but don't give you general information unless you ask.

  • 2/5 Rose R. 2 years ago on Google
This used to be the most beautiful hotel with ambience as you walk-in. Now surrounded by block of residential flats( apparently for students) with their parking entry and exit right opposite entrance to hotel. The hotel is now squashed and hidden by the tall block of flats. Only breakfast is served. Dinner time "Mr Delivery" is in the house delivering takeaways for residents. The experience is similar to a student residence. Painfully so, what was one of the hotels so central to Business complexes, academic institutions, soccer fields, hospitals, and passing by guests full of ambience and tranquility , has lost its spark.

I only spent one night here but it was fit for purpose and actually quite comfortable with some of the nicest front of house staff I've ever experienced. They even arranged a lush breakfast pack for me as I was leaving quite early. Will gladly stay here again on business trips. My only criticism would be the room service which ends at 21:30. Longer hours would be better for business travelers

  • 2/5 Stephan S. 1 year ago on Google
We prefer staying at southern sun or Marriott hotels as we hope that they all have the same standards. Garden Court fell short. Reception had a strong sewerage smell that was resolved later the day. No problem with room. Beds were comfy. Bathroom was great. We are not in covid anymore, make a plan with your room service menu. Was told breakfast is served at 7am. Arriving 6:55 found that breakfast was already served to a room fulled with saps members. Complete chaos!! No place to sit as tables that were left in horrible way were not cleared fast enough.. Food and uneaten fruit lying around. Staff was rude. No plates or bowls. Food looked like it was hit by hurricane. More outside the dishes than inside. If this hotel caters for these type of government officials that has no respect for themselves or food we will advise people not to stay here as it is an experience we wish on nobody.
