Good day My grandmother was in the hospital since Friday afternoon, and honestly she had a rough time with the poor hygiene and service. I am unsure if this has gotten worse over time or what, because I had good service in 2020. At first they ran an extreme amount of tests drawing a lot of blood, her arms were bruised all over from drawing blood. That was understandable, though after that they moved her drip witch also bruised badly. The next morning her arm was swollen badly and she explained that the needle in the arm had started hurting throughout the night, she called the nurse and told her, the machine did make a lot of noise as well she said, and the nurse just ignored the hurting and swelling in her arm. The next morning she had a patch on her arm, and I demanded to know why her arm was so swollen, the nurse explained something about the needle being left in to long? During her stay, she explained that the needle somehow came loose causing bleeding...the nurses then used her towel that she brought with to wipe the blood from her arm, and then placed it back into the drawer full of blood! Every morning that I visited her I had to call the nurse to fill up her water witch she asked for more than once, change her bedding witch was wet and filthy...and even once to change the empty bags on the drip! When called, they hastily check and then never return with what was asked for. After phoning for the nurse regarding the empty bags on the drips, she disappeared again, then the machine made alerts of bubbles or something, and I phoned again this time she helped out changing the necessary equipment. The entire time she was in the hospital, no information was given to her family, I had to catch the doctor while she was checking in to get some info. Last night at around 9pm, we received a phone call saying we should be at the hospital, my grandmother is being transferred. However, they just gave us a time, not saying when...they wanted to transfer her the same night and she refused. Because of poor communication she was luckily transferred only this morning. They do not treat the elderly well, this was high care and it was poor service. Do not send your elderly to this hospital!

Brits Mediclinic is the worst private hospital. The nurses behave like it's a public hospital. It's so sad to pay so much money only to be treated badly. How do you tell someone who is in a bad state that they must follow up after 6 weeks of being discharged with the doctor. You are told you can only communicate with the nurse working with the doctor you can't talk to the doctor directly and that time they have more information than their nurses. I would rather drive 1 hour to Gauteng than to be admitted there. Doctors are not available to assist patients with their queries, is this a public or private hospital.

Nightshift in ward b(bed 2) at 21 April 2021 was rude unwilling to assist and very racist. My wound was bleeding through the dressing they didn't helped me. When I asked for pain medicine I waited hours. There is alot of exsellent good nurses looking for work.,why do you keep nurses who clearly hate their work and despice their patients. Truly the worst nightshift staff ever.

Just want to say thank you, thank you, thank you to all the staff in paediatrics. They made us feel welcome and helped with anything we asked even though they were so busy. Thank you to the 2 ladies at reception for their friendly and fast service.

I have been to the ER 3 times. All 3 were my worst experience of a private hospital. To think they get paid so much money for the ridiculous treatment and service. They take advantage of the fact that they are the only private hospital in the area. It's just that it gets better in the ward. The stuff in the ward are a lot better. You will hours for treatment. Mediclinic seems like the worst franchise in general. Plus they don't look at reviews and respond so they can improve. They simply don't care and just doing it for the money.

In 3 weeks that Both my parents was patients, I did not get the chance to the their doctor, not even when my dad passed away or my mom when she made progress or got worse, I am the closest relative and received nothing from the doctor. Phone quality when phoning for any updates are bad. No information is given when phoning the specific wards where tge patients are. After my mom was transferred to anotger facility, she said her experience as the patient was horrible and she was relieved to be out. The hospital could not adhere to their own arrangements made. The β€œpatient experience manager” also did nothing to uphold that title. Overall a bad experience and would not recommend.

I dont even want to go there. Firstly MC staff is not trained to nurse already disabled patients. My husband is there he must beg for a bell and no assistance when he needs to go to the toilet . Aircons are so cold and nobody has remote to set it down. Beg for linen its all on a when i have time mode. Staff park on disabled parkings as if their cars are more worth than the disabled visitors or patients convenients..Its a continuous nagging for service and because of that you get labled as a difficult patient and staff get rude and aggressive. There are a few great nurses one is suster Liza of ICU going out of her way to make things easier for the sick patients. Thank you. There is still alot to improve in service delivery but i will not use this hospital again although we appreciate the Drs service s.

My Mum, 81 years old, was admitted to hospital on aThursday evening. She is diabetic. She was given a saline drip at around 12:00 on Friday. The drip was on her for about 1/2 hour and then removed as it was not working properly. At 16:00 she had still not seen a doctor. I drove to the hospital and discharged her myself from hospital. Today I received an account from a doctor from Discovery, claiming 2 consultations with my Mum. I am utterly disgusted with the service (if one could call it that) and then to still have the audacity to claim???

Support staff have a terrible uncaring attitude. My relative was admitted for tests and investigations. She was not offered water once overan entire weekend. We complained to the catering manager who promised to give us feedback. We have heard nothing. Hopefully I never have to deal with this place again.

Nurses tried their best, but I believe the system is at fault. I was left without food and never informed why, only for the dr to arrive three hours later than promised to share what was happening. The people coming to attend will often just say they will call someone else, leading me to believe that the hospital is under-staffed. Nothing wrong with food or cleanliness or professionalism, just wish that information was better communicated and that doctors arrive on time and surgeries happen when scheduled. Unnecessary pain and trauma happens here, and because they are the only private hospital in the area, we are left without choice.

Mediclinic Brits is the worst private hospital you will come across. Don’t land there on a weekend... Staff are unhelpful and vague. Expect a lot of promises and yesses but no action. Inefficient and the night staff and day staff don’t communicate with each other. Rather drive to Gauteng, you’ll have a better experience. Mediclinic should be ashamed of this hospital.

We didn’t have funds on our medical aid and we were asked to pay for everything in cash but they still insisted on having our medical aid information. Only to find that later on they will try to take from the medical aid and call us to say we are owing. Wow I still can’t believe that the whole Brits mediclic robbed us!!!

They refused to repay my deposit after 120 days after I had to help a friend out. The client was fully insured so not sure what the point of insurance is if the hospital refuses to accept it.

I was admitted twice during one month. First the surgical and then the medical ward. What a pleasant surprise this hospital is. The staff are so friendly and caring.. Right from the security, admission, nursing staff, cleaners, caterers, porters, xrays, chemist. All I can say is thank you all so much. The hospital is so well kept and spotlessly clean. Well done! Keep up your good service.

There is so much chaos in this hospital... the lady at reception was very good though. She called the ward to bring the wheelchair and collect my daughter coz she was in pain.... she called 3 times no one came.... eventually we were collected... we get to the ward there is no bed assigned... finally we got the bed but no cupboard, no accessories, no one attended to is for almost an hour in the ward, the nurse came with a wrong file ordering x ray for the arm... and am like what does the arm have to do with what we are here for? Then she went to call the Dr... and am still waiting till now

Excellent & professional service at the pediatric ward. Nurses & auxiliary staff so friendly, responsive & considerate for the little patients and helpful towards the accompanying parents. Daily review forms very helpful and allow for written feedback well in time. Head of unit does frequent rounds to hear directly from customers πŸ™ŒπŸΎ. Catering is flexible enough to accommodate children with allergies & fussy preferences. Menu broad enough to allow for variety over the admission period. Adequate room in spaces allocated for baby & accompanying parent & for visitors. WiFi available to keep little people entertained within the confines of a hospital. Bunker beds provided to ensure that parents accompanying little people can atleast rest properly as they support their children. Thank you for trying your level best to prioritize our experience & not making excuses around covid in maintaining service levels. I would absolutely recommend to fellow moms for peace of mind so you can focus on baby’s care πŸ™ŒπŸΎ. Thank you also for taking the time to read & respond in these reviews here, something very different from the other hospitals, acknowledging customers goes a long way!

My son in law waited 3 hours to be admitted. Been there since 13:00 now 21:00 in bed with no pillow. Lying on his suitcase. Wow no service at all. Maybe we should pay no money at all!!!

Worst hospital I do not recommend to anyone. My younger sister gave birth there and they could not even vaccinate my newborn nephew before they left the hospital told them they can go to a government clinic within 3 to 6 days. Imagine and on top of that I asked the nurses that do we need to sign anywhere because she was being discharged and they said no but today we are told that she didn’t go to admin to discharge herself what nonsense is that.So those vaccines are waiting for white people to give birth so they can give it to them.

The wait at casualty was longer than expected. Considering how busy they were at the time, all the staff I came into contact with were super friendly, patient, knowledgeable & helpful.

I went there with a 5 year old child who had head trauma, the lady at the Emergency department, I think her name was Anna, told us to complete our details on to the tablet attached to the wall, from there we sat down, she never interacted with us nor ask us anything. We sat there for about an 1 hour then I decided to leave and take the child to netcare Akasia. The child triage color was Orabge and indicated that we should be attended to sooner. The child was bleeding and I kept on placing woun dressings to stop the bleeding.

All I can say is thank you to doctor Reyneke and all the nursing staff while I was in hospital severely ill with complications due to COVID. I was 8 days in a coma and my family got feedback everyday on my condition. All the nursing staff treated me with respect and were very helpful. I only have good experience of Mediclinic in Brits.

Mediclinic Brits Hospital restored my hope in good hospitals again. Thank you for your friendly service. Amazing job done on our son. The emergency care staff, paediatric ward, Dr. Muvhango and theatre staff were all amazing. Thank you! Vivienne Gertzen

My daughter was admitted to Brits MediClinic on 2 Aug 2022. We were greeted by the very friendly receptionist, Rose, and the paperwork was done quickly and efficiently. My daughter was received by Ward C's staff. From the first day I was impressed with the clean hospital, good food, friendly service and high quality care. Srs Lerato, Caroline, Sophy, Flora, Mmbatho, Tiny, Patricia (and the rest of the night staff whose names I couldn't get) all went out of their way for my child, and also for other patients. I spent all day with my child for a week at the hospital and heard and saw first hand how they work with other patients. They are so patient with people, especially the elderly! They even try to speak Afrikaans to calm old people who are confused. The love and care is palpable in their soft hands. I would recommend Brits MediClinic for sure. They compare excellent to the hospitals in the city.

This hospital is overpriced. I had to pay R1950 for consultation of a 2 year old . They are not even honest about their prices upfront. When i went there yesterday i was told that i must pay 850 for the doctor to see my child , i asked if the amount was for consultation the lady helping at reception said yes. When the doctor was done checking my child i was asked to then further more pay 1100 for a 2 year old, who was not even touched by the doctor. Normal Consultation at the hospital is R1950, R850 for using the hospital and 1100 for the doctor checking my daughter.😳😑

Worst private hospital ever. If u can please don't go there. I'm sure the government hospital will we much better. The doctor that was treating my daughter was the most unfriendly doctor I've ever come across. Last night 09/09/2022. In the emergency ward. Mediclinic u should do something or close down. Buildings are new but rubbish staff

The doctors are good but the night nursing staff is particularly incompetent. It seems like half the nurse aides don't know what they are doing.

Worst experience ever. My 3rd encounter with this hospital in 1 year. My daughter, my mother and my father. I can only say that the local vet would've been a better option

Broke my lower back and was immediately helped with pain relief. Doctors, Nurses and Radiologists are all very friendly and professional. Everyone there knows what to do and is deserving of their jobs.
