Used to love this woolies but after tonight I will likely never return. Upon arriving my access to the aisles was blocked by a cleaner who was not even cleaning, she was walking slowly and dragging her feet. All over the store were staff members on their phones, once again standing in the way. After navigating my way around the staff members and getting to the till queue, I was then informed that "the system was down because they had no power for too long" and hence there was no way to pay via card... The lady who informed us of this problem would not make any plans to allow us to return the next day to pay and if we left to get money we would not be allowed back into the store as it was closing time. The strange thing is that they had more lights being powered than were necessary, could some of that power not be diverted to something more important like keeping the system running

The Woolworths cafe here is absolutely disgusting!!!! Gave them a second chance but still experienced the same thing again. The service is terrible! I don’t like pulling the race card but wow. Tables that came after us got their drinks before us , got their food before us, I watched our food sitting there for a long time at the kitchen. Never coming here ever again

Woolworths Cafe quality of food has deteriorated every time I go and excessively overpriced for what you receive. On Sunday morning at 10am ordered the Pastrami sandwich, they were out of Pastrami, then ordered the Club Sandwich, this sandwich arrived with massive slices of bread, making it a very impressive looking sandwich, however, it was far from impressive, the filling was almost non existent :-( The bacon was over cooked more like biltong, the chicken was virtually non existent, cold wedges of tomato and cucumber and a thin slice of cheese for R96, for basically a half a loaf of bread, it is disgraceful. Service was poor, only two waitrons working on a busy end of month Sunday morning. Previously ordered the Caprese Sandwich- bread wasn't as thick but there was so much Pesto on both sides of the bread it was inedible, the tomato was ice cold, the cheese was not melted. They have also rearranged the restaurant, in a time when we are supposed to be social distancing and avoiding people, the pay point has now been moved to the back of the cafe, you now need to walk through the cafe to the kitchen to pay?????Definitely have lost a customer here, won't be spending my hard earning money paying for substandard tasteless food and poor service.

I usually buy my weekly food here at Woolworths. But walking into the store making my way to the bakery my wife asks me whether I can smell what I can describe as "drain". So when reporting his to the Woolworths staff some runs away at first encountering the smel...its bad!! but the store manager laughs at us like we are imagining ourselves.Crazy experience was not expecting this from management from my my daily grocery.

Bought a Ciabatta loaf, it was R33 and hard as a rock. I was always happy with this store, not anymore, the ciabatta loaf was so small for that price, 6 slices, the packaging is misleading

Woolworths at Retail Crossing Shopping Centre undoubtedly merits a full five-star rating. The store offers a stellar shopping experience, setting the standard for others in the retail industry. It boasts an extensive range of high-quality products, from fresh produce to premium clothing lines. Their food section, in particular, is impressive with a variety of fresh, organic, and specialty items that cater to diverse dietary preferences. The store layout is thoughtfully designed, making navigation a breeze. Customer service is exceptional, with a team of friendly and helpful staff ready to assist. Despite being a busy location, the store is well-stocked, and the premises are kept impeccably clean. Shopping at Woolworths Retail Crossing is always a pleasure, making it worthy of its five-star rating.

This woolworths is one of the bigger shops and really has a nice coffee shop and food. The reason I am rating it a 1 star is because even though the produce and shop floor is great, very often there is an imbalance between the in shop experience and the checkout experience. Often you are caught in massive queues waiting long periods for 50% of the tellers to work through a huge amount of people. This boils down to poor managament for me, firstly the tellers are expected to bag all the groceries themselves slowing them down considerably. You could employ more staff members to help speed that up. Secondly the 4/5 tellers working there look like they have a mountain to climb because in my opinion they simply are over worked. Again just open up more tills on the busier days employ more people if needed. As terrible as it sounds we often decide not to go to this Woolworths store quite simply because we don't want to deal with the queue(s). We often rather go to Impala Foods in the same centre for all our fresh fruits and veggies and go to Fleisherei for any meat products. Woolworths is a premium store, I've not experienced this issue at any other stores. I simply expect better, Pick and Pay and Checkers get their queue system working fairly well most of the time. Surely this Woolworths can too.

Beautiful store. Conveniently located. Always battling to find full shopping list in one go. Specials many times sold out and today....empty shelves. For such an upmarket store...unacceptable.

I'm so sick of the ladies at the tills that struggle to work with their long nails. They dig into the food. Have reported it but nothing has been done. Especially in my brie and camembert cheese. Don't go there anymore. This is a health risk. Long nails are dirty.

Shop that best, but restaurant so unsociable. And all seats are occupied 12 hours a day, with people with laptops, cellphones, this seems like a work office here... those people don't take a Consumption, they just sit...... And you can smoke e-cigarettes, they just do that....I don't understand why Woolworths doesn't do anything about that.. .

My experience with the quality of the fruit of late has been bad. Last week i purchased apples and they were all badly blemished when I unpacked it. I thought, ah well just a bad bunch. Yesterday I bought same apples again at this store, and to my dismay it was a bunch of bad apples again. I took it back and was merely given a refund and no explanation of what was up with the quality issue, as well as means to ensure better quality. So i guess I'll be buying my fruits elsewhere, as even the bananas arent what I am used to from Woolworths. WW please up the game on quality, its what we expect!

It's really one of the best Woollies. They have great selections. Stock is good. The lines don't take too long. My teller was great. The line for the roast chicken is typically crazy

Very poor breakfast experience. You sit inside this restaurant owned by Woolies right next to a full Woolies store and they cannot give you proper options for a cool drink. All you get is Coke and Fanta. Positively nothing else. Very disappointing that they have no concept of Creme Soda Iron Brew Sprite etc.

If you can brave the weekend crowds and premium prices, you won't find a better shopping experience. Never hurts to grab some fresh flowers on your way out either.

I prefer not to shop here. Store layout causes a lot of walking around and there is always a long wait in the queue. Signage in the store could be better.

The shop is massive , you get almost everything you need . The line to The tills were a bit long and slow .They have a cafe as well which was a bit busy but the food's nice ,coffee is brilliant .Got some few feel good goodies ..

Very nice, large Woolies store. They just need to start stocking the fresh barbeque sticky wings, which never seems to be available at this store. Other than that, it's an amazing grocer.

This is my FAVOURITE Woolworths. They stock such a diverse range of food. I love going there when I really want to stock up in vegan delectables. Whether you’re gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, low-fat, low -carb…there’s everything. I haven’t struggled with longs queues, the staff is very friendly. The produce is always fresh. The shop is always clean and organised. I have nothing bad to say honestly.

It's been twice this week that I had to walk out of the queue at Woolworths Lifestyle Crossing. It's month end but cashiers are short staffed. It's ridiculous to wait in such a long queue & the queue doesn't move fast. I had to leave my trolley with my stuff as I had to get to another store before 6pm. Management needs to hire more cashiers or request cashiers to work faster during month end. I raised this concern with Natasha who was knowing duty. I asked if i could place an order girl delivery, Natasha said yes but currently its offline. It is a waste of time to wait soo long in the queue at 1 store & especially when that store is "Woolworths" !!

I live in this area and go for years to this Woollies this year I made an effort to stop and get my morning cappuccino at the store. I have to say I have never experienced such a rude person at the coffee machine. It is a guy who serves there and then goes to work at the kitchen at times. When the ladies work there the service and treatment is amazing. each time I see him there and order my coffee he treats me so poorly to think I then have to drive 30 min in traffic after dealing with this joker! , today I stood up to him! he is shocking and I know other customers feel the same, I do not blame him I blame management they keep allowing rude staff to continue!

I'm always left a little disappointed with the restaurant in a whole.. Have sent my coffee back a few times...but I have to say.. The coffee at the coffee bar is always a winner. The 3 people that usually help me are fabulous, helpful, great at their job and very friendly. I only give 4 stars so that you keep up the great quality 😋🤩

  • 1/5 Chantal S. 2 years ago on Google
The worst Woolies I have ever been in, in peak traffic times they don't have rotisserie chicken available, staff is rude let people skip the queues. I am discussed with the service I got from them!

Enjoy shopping at this Woolworths, has all I need most of the time. Can queue for a while during peak times, but otherwise a great store.
