The most horrible service I have received this year hands down . So after my produce run on the supermarket side ( great service from the guy at the dairy produce) , I then decided to go the coffeshop/restaurant. Breakfast buffet was about to close in 15 min . Almost everything was out. No one attended to me for wla while. The guy making my omelet was the onlyone smiling in that whole staff. I ate my omelet and the whole 30 min I was there no one came to me asking if I'm ok or I wanted to order anything more. The whole staff was congregating at the back of the store wiping spoons. Had to get out of my seat and go ask to pay for my bill. Maybe I'm not able to articulate this well but the service was the pits .....HORRIBLE!!!!! 01/10/2022

Let me be clear that I do not complain just because!! I love shopping here when I need meat but sometimes when you've been given a few things that are just wrong then something needs to be said. I ordered this large pizza (ham and mushroom) it was priced R68. 00 and they refused to put the price down. Then secondly it's still raw!!! This is the 3rd time I baught a pizza that's base is raw, being pregnant you can't eat anything raw! Each time I go back I'm hopeful that they will make that amazing pizza I had the first time only to be disappointed. The other thing is the pork sausages always taste like pine gel. Okay well done you guys clean the equipment but no one rinses it. Unfortunately I can't post a picture of the pork sausage's flavor but it's something I've come to avoid no matter how well priced it is!

The very best guaranteed! It's big and spacious with lots of food varieties to choose from. I just love it. They have lots of dessert varieties that are pleasing to not just the eye but to the taste buds as well.

Shopping here is good until you get to the Cashiers who are mostly behaving like they are doing you a favour. Firstly when the store is not full they don’t ring a bell you’ll wait to be called while most of them are free, Secondly they are rude and unpleasant to deal with, you greet they keep quiet lastly make sure you check your receipt they are trigger happy to overcharge. Please train your staff particularly Thulisile this cashier is very rude and undermines customers.

It's a good place to get your fresh produce - my wife's a fan of their prepared food's section. They observe covid-19 protocol, which is important in these times.

Excellent place to shop. Fresh food. Good quality meat and s good variety of items normally difficult to find. When you walk into the shop you immediately feel and see the difference between them and the competitors. I love having a light meal there when I've finished shopping. My friends and I often meet there to enjoy a lovely meal for a reasonable price. Only place we can. Enjoy this lovely food. You missing an adventure if you don't shop there.

I was a bit disappointed when I arrived as the waiter brought me the menu but did not ask if I wanted anything to drink. After about 10mins another waiter came and asked if I'm OK to which I voiced my disappointment. She then assisted and was great. The food was good and well priced

Very Very Disappointed! I am a very loyal customer of the Food Lover’s Market Sunward, but this incident happening for the SECOND time… I went to purchase chicken wings on the 16th of January 2022, hoping to cook it in the evening. When I was about to start preparing the chicken there was a FOUL FOUL FOUL smell coming from the chicken. The chicken as you can see in the photo below is very grey and does not look fresh. When I wanted to check in the packaging what the sell by date was, it had been torn off by the store. This is the second time this has happened to us. The first time it was lamb pieces that we purchased and as we were about to prepare it, it looked yellow and had a very very bad odour. That prompted us to send it back to the shop. Sies!

Absolute nonsense!! I paid over R200 extra for the produce I bought yesterday. Reading my slip, I have just realized that the cashier scanned most of the goods twice (due to some system failure that I mistakenly thought she resolved at the time). I normally enjoy my shopping experience at this store, however, I am very upset and sorely disappointed. I work hard for my money and did not expect to be overcharged so much.

Always advertise specials, but when you get there its either out of stock on the first day at 8am in the morning, or not the same as advertised. Yesterday I went for pork belly and chicken thighs. On the advert it was plain, but in the shop it was marinated.

The aesthtic and vibe of the store draws you in, I would definitely travel that distance from my house here just to shop monthly, the dessert selection is so wide. The lay out isn't easy to navigate at all, where usual shops have things easily categorized, this one has a weird layout, but that was just my personal shopping experience.

I have to say, WOW! The Sunward Park branch sets the gold standard for the franchise. The variety of prepared foods, from gourmet burgers to giant sandwiches, fresh fish, meats, fruits and vegetables, and especially the specials of the day, leave you absolutely spoiled for choice. The smell of the spices and visual appeal of the store all add the remarkable shopping experience. It's just a real pity that it's not more centrally located in Joburg. It would be amazing if the other branches could follow suit.

I love Food Lovers Markets! Went to the one in Sunward Park for the first time yesterday. My daughter found a hair in the koeksister and prepared meat. The Mocochino muffin also had a rancid taste. Please ask the staff to pay attention when preparing food. Other that that, all good.

Very disappointed with the quality of the vegetables that we got from Food Lovers Market Sunward Park on the 24th December for a potjie. Most of the prepackaged carrots and beans were rotten and the quality of the other vegetables left a lot to be desired. This cost us to go out hunting for vegetables on Christmas morning instead of spending time with our family. Lesson learnt....we won't be going back to Food Lovers Market in a hurry

Beautiful store, lot of great products on offer. Just the service is questionable. I asked one of the ladies at the butchery to cut me 1KG lamb stew pieces when I got home I see I got 1kg of lamb fat and bone. No meat, literally went to another store to buy more lamb.

Great food, reasonable prices. This place is very popular because of their good service, and really good, fresh food. Their menu is not extensive but they usually have specials, and also offer a buffet at R 125 per person. Food Lovers have a winning recipe. A great place to shop.

I had to try a meal from other places as we unfortunately we were too late for a Food Lovers meal. While eating mediocre stale food all I could say was ‘it’s nothing like the food at food lovers’. The food at Food Lovers is always fresh, well seasoned beyond reasonably priced. The sushi beats ocean baskets the ribs trump any rib place I’ve ever been too and the service and atmosphere!!!

Not the tipe of place to always go to with a list as they don't always have the same things you might have seen before. But who needs the list if they always have ready cooked food and serve things like pizza and freshly baked goods. Its for the people that love food not people who like going through appliances and stroll through the toiletries. Lots of tellers witch makes the trip to the shops quick and easy.

The waitresses were more attentive on placing salt and pepper pots on the table than they were on serving walk-in customers. I had to summon one of them over to bring me a menu and take my order. The food was served promptly but it took her another 10 minutes to bring condiments to the table. At which stage my food was cold. Had to stand up and go and call her to bring my bill. No communication from her, didn't bother to thank me for her tip. Food offerings and prices are great. However the service was terrible. Fix it please.

Bought a cake which was not fresh, sides where crusted as if exposed to air for a long time. Worse, found a string inside the cake. Very disappointed.

:-( What a sad way to execute your price increase on the chocolate fudge brownie... a 100% increase on such a delicacy should be a crime really, especially during these tough times. This was the main reason (besides bread and other things) that made me to drive past your store every second day (where I end up refilling on all other necessities). Such treats are very important to keep us sane as we face all sorts of challenges. Sweets/treats are there to keep the mental balance and help us stay happy. How could you just cut the fudge in half and still keep it at the price it was. You've just ended our weekly family desert culture, just like that. But we understand that you need to keep the business profitable as Francois mentioned that those brownies were running at a loss. All I am saying at least you could have been a bit more human about this increase, probably by adding R5 to the price but keep it the same size or reduce the size by a 1/4 (not a whole half just like that - what a shock). I mean we are also going through the same financial crisis, if not worse. Such things can end a life you know. Besides that, the store is lovely and staff are friendly, everything else is top notch, this was our little indulgence but I guess we'll have to move on from here, see you next month. :-( Edited: 05 Nov 2021 It seems like we can't reply to comments on the review so I'll just update here... So I guess this is the win-win we were praying for. To that, we would really like to say THANK YOU!... your thoughtfulness is really valuable to us especially during this time, where various dynamics are testing our mental strengths. We looking forward to mealtimes after a long day and to restoring our weekly desert tradition(where we are consumed by this sweet treat and float to a happy space above all the noise (",)). I loved shopping here, but unfortunately my husband found a thick sharp piece of glass in his hamburger patty. I can't imagine how that can happen. All the other Patty's were ok, I think.

It was my first time there. It's a really nice place and the prices were amazing but.... the whole experience was ruined with an extremely rude unwelcoming teller. She didn't want to assist me with getting an extra item. She made comments in her own language. Really unpleasant.

My partner bought the chicken that was on special today. It came with buns and four sides. Everything was off, except the coleslaw! To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. We went to there since Thursday early in the morning to get the canola oil on promo but looks like it’s a scam shame. You will definitely have some Monday when the promo is finished. Please advise what to do now .

So disappointed, 2nd time experiencing the purchase of Biltong from food lovers sunward park and then wake up to mold. Bought this on Tuesday 14/02/2023 and this morning I open yhe bag and the biltong has mold. Stores in a cool dry place in the paper bag and it has mold two days later yet says use by 16/03/2023. My R100 literally went to waist as I literally only had half yesterday the 15th. The last time was same issue and had to give it to my dog, today felt that I need to make it known that rather buy R30 biltong and eat it there and then! I'm so disappointed 😞

Great service and nice food, and even if there are long queues, you don't wait long at all, but their bakery is nothing to take home. Other food lovers don't come at this size of the building with the same variety of food. Their mark down food and other products are a wait by the time they put them on shelve.

If your organic peppers in the oven don't give me to get tabasco source level spicy reduction you can forget it. Mushrooms so clean ripe no flavour just earth ... Overall very clean, all products available, it's somewhat better than a PicknPay. Best convenient market in South Africa with amazing veggies. They just need a lot more involvement in technology, order and pickup functions, organic labels and more, but of course this is only a suggestion.

Food lovers must live up to their promise. Their hot food is mess you keep the food one night the following day it's spoilt. They need to check expiry dates on their products and improve on customer complaint

I only go here for the Butchery as their prices are reasonable. The shop is clean and as packed as it gets the ques are moving, you never que for 10 minutes here. The service is great, the only negative is that their veges go off fast. Overall it is the best out of many food lovers stores I've been to. Great service

On my visit to Sunward Park Food Lovers today, I have experienced a very uncooperative, and unfriendly till supervisor. Over the last six months, customer service, has taken a drastic change for the worse. Your pricing currently is appalling, with regards to specials versus the price on the system. You have overcharged me today by R30-00. Note I have been a regular customer for as long as the store has been operating. Its not the point of the value, its the fact you are taking money, which is incorrect

My husband bought full chicken yesterday around 17:30 dat chicken was completely off, rotten and sticky, so plz guys can u put fresh stuff there, dat chicken am sure it was from sunday they change da date an put it back in da oven cz no one could eat dat 😢😢😢😢
