We went to watch Seusical which was funny and entertaining, a perfect family fun outing. The theatre however had run out of popcorn,and slushies also weren't ready, the only other options were small bags of sweets, water and little fruit juices which was a bit of a let down...

Took the kids to watch the Dr Seuss Cat in the Hat. Was fun for the kids and a decent production with great effort from the cast. Facilities were ok but a refurbished is needed. Hallmarks of a Grand facility of yesteryear. Main negative was that the kiosk staff saw it fit to sell burnt popcorn to kids.

We saw the Fairytales show and absolutely loved it. The cast were energetic, brilliant and such fun. They involved the audience children in a really fun way. I highly recommend this show and the Poeples Theatre.

Great children's entertainment! Engaging performers with colorful personality that kept my 3 and 7yr old on their seats edge for both sessions. A great technique they used was crowd participation. Hand gestures, clapping, and Calling for the "Ladies in Waiting" was a fantastic and energetic. I can't wait for Shrek in December!

We recently attended a performance of Shrek at the Peoples Theatre, and I wholeheartedly suggest catching the show on a Sunday morning at 11 am—it's truly an enchanting experience. The ambiance is superb, immersing you in the magical world of the play. The actors deliver a stellar performance, creating an atmosphere that transports you right into the heart of the narrative. Accompanied by my 6-year-old daughter, the joy she experienced was palpable. She not only relished the play but is now eagerly anticipating future theatrical outings. The Peoples Theatre delivers a captivating blend of superb setting, talented actors, and an immersive atmosphere that makes it a must-visit for anyone seeking enchanting theatrical experiences.

An intimate venue that really harnesses the spirit of live art through theatre production. The opportunities for young actors/actresses to master their craft are abound.

Had a fun time with my kids who really enjoyed the show. First time to the theatre for them. The peoples theatre is outside the main theatre, but they had staff directing people which made it easier. Was enough parking at the top near the main entrance as well because there was only the one show playing at the time.

I had a lovely time at The Peoples Theatre. The show was vibrant and fun. There was great audience participation. A charming mix of ages, amongst the actors and wonderful for a young and older audience. Worth a trip. Good parking if you arrive earlier. A happy and smiley time.

This place is amazing. The shows are fabulous, the performances are brilliant and it's all round entertaining for the kids. The showa directors really know what they are doing.

The Peoples Theatre is part of the Joburg Theatre complex. The entrance is outside the main theatre. A smaller theatre that hosts pantomimes and smaller children's productions.
