The hotel and room is in desperate need of a deep clean. We were faced with dirty cups and a busted door that wouldn't shut. Although this was sorted immediately. I do not think the floor in the room has ever been washed. We ended up with black feet! The rooms need renovation or at least a lick of paint.

Room was shoddy, aircon broken and patched with tape, TV was the size of a not huge tablet. No hot water in the shower. On top of it all we got a rude knock at 11 on the dot while we were packing up to check out to say we're late checking out! Horrible

Absolutely horrific, as a single female traveller I was equally disgusted and scared and after going out for food and a think I decided not to stay I felt that uneasy. And when I went to leave I was berated by the guy at reception, who at least could speak English and turned the light on as opposed to the one who checked me in. The room was dark and smelly, the linen damp and mould in bathroom. The boiler pipes had badly singed the walls and wires were hanging loose. The curtain was a table cloth from a cheap restaurant wedged over a pipe and the beds had no mattress protectors with dirty walls and floors. There was a ladder propped against the back alley which was dark and dingy beside my room where anyone could break in to the single glazed wooden windows and old door with into a simple 1 point lock. The air con unit was directly above the pillows in one bed meaning only able to sleep in back room with road noise and damp sheets. All this after the first sign you see above the door to reception being a big poster about drug use. First impressions = worst impressions. Zero stars. Grim

Great building but the room was very basic tv wouldn't work keep switching off randomly. Bed was clean but the frame very old and making lots noise when moving. Bathroom was very clean as well that's all I can say really definitely not worth 89 pounds. 50 pounds yeah would have been.

Was expecting a bit more from what looks like a nice place. The building is clearly an old church hall converted, if done properly inside would be ok. The reception area looks good but then it all falls apart. Stairs were dirty, doors didn't have numbers or signs telling you which room was which. The TV didn't work, to which I mean it was not connected to an aerial or dish so it was useless even for a hotel standard. The key card had been broken and 'sellotaped' back together. My room was ok ish, the bed was uncomfortable as the mattress had been well used. The room was unfinished and badly done. Have a feeling too the place had bed bugs...felt things move underneath me in the bedding, so slept on top of the duvet in clothes... Just was run down and needs some proper attention indoors especially the rooms! Cleaning properly is probably a good start for them. Just avoid or pitch a tent outside, probably cleaner and more comfortable.... Oh but to park your car in the car park it costs you £20.... Not secure though. Take Away, Don't be fooled by their website pics

This hotel is great. The bedsheets/room were so clean, high quality, 6 pillows in each bed. There was 2 wardrobes, the basic kitchen essentials, microwave, kettle. I didn't get to use the TV so don't know what features it has but it was a decent size. The bathroom is so nice and modern and it comes with a few bottles of shower gel, shampoo and soap. All the heaters are on, central heating, towels racks. All of this for £73 a night. So cheap. I see that in some reviews people complain about bed bugs, walls being dirty and having crayon like marks this is NOT TRUE. These are people that probably thought they are staying at a Four Seasons... Will definitely stay again in the future.

We had a well kept room for three - a double bed and single cot. All were comfortable. The room was spacious enough - could do with maybe one sitting chair though. The only other seating was at a small desk. Microwave/Convection Oven a big plus! Close to transportation to city, and shopping and good restaurants available locally. All in all, we had a comfortable stay, and I would stay with Arch Hotel again.

The worst experience in a hotel EVER. The light from outside was directly in front of my window. The state of the room was not great anyway, but this caused a serious issue because it didn’t allow me to sleep. Not only there were no rooms available for me to move into, but staff informed me that they could not turn that light off for the other guests who are walking to their rooms. Does it mean there are second rank guests? And why on earth do you have a shredded white paper-thin curtain on the window if there’s a light pointing in and disturbing people’s sleep? It felt like morning for the whole night, which is ridiculous. They offer bedrooms, the minimum should be that people can comfortably sleep in them. I obviously complained. They said to my face they’d speak to a manager and then proceeded to ghost me completely. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

APPALLING. Under no circumstances, should you stay at this hovel. It is without doubt, it is one of the most appalling hotels we’ve ever stayed at -begrudging service, disgusting room, including bloodstains on carpet and flooring, missing plaster, broken furniture. Such a shame, given the lovely external facade but honestly you’d be better off, saving your money and sleeping in the street!

Honestly the worst place I’ve ever stayed in the UK! The room given to us (garden room) wasn’t the room we’d booked. This was an inconvenience as we’d specifically booked the room that would best suit our needs. The room we were given didn’t. I’d pre-ordered a cot for my baby and when I got there not only was there no cot in the room but reception then told me it was £25 to hire (rather than the £15 I’d previously been told via email). The mattress for the cot that I was given was a mattress topper for a SINGLE bed. Not only did it obviously not fit but it wasn’t safe. After speaking/arguing with the staff member he told me to fold the single mattress in half and just make do! After some debate he did however find a cot mattress however it was filthy. There was no curtain in one of the bedrooms - instead a sheet thrown over the curtain rail. The fire/carbon monoxide alarm went off twice. There was a boiler in the bedroom. The sleep we had was awful - the double bed was so old - it tipped us both into the middle and we had the worst back ache the following day. I emailed the hotel twice since our stay providing feedback and they didn’t even bother to reply. My advice - AVOID AVOID AVOID

Pleasant and helpful staff. Good clean beds and facilities. Generous supply of toiletries, tea and coffee. It's a bit tatty but clean, comfortable and very quiet. The only down side is the flimsy window covering, which wasn't a problem for me but was for others in my group as it let in so much light.

I called a head of making a booking to check the hotel had a wheelchair accessible room available. The guy at reception said yes, I paid 30 pounds, travelling to get here and when I arrive they tell me, that they don't have a wheelchair accessible room, not only are they making me late as I have to be somewhere. Its poor service, I haven't a place is

Wonderful hotel! Everything was excelent! A very clean hotel! The bed linen was changed every two days. The bathroom is very clean and maintained daily! White towels, clean and changed every day! It is a wonderful and quiet location! The hotel is very close to the underground, overground and bus station. Everything was superlative, and the staff very kind and friendly! I wholeheartedly recommend this location! We will definitely come back! Congratulations!

Location is good, website should inform at booking site , that Reception staff will ask for ID ( my passport number was required) I didn't have Any photo ID as I hadn't Travelled from abroad. Room size is abit misleading, no way was Room suitable for Up to 4 people! You are also lead to believe a room will be arranged over 2 floors. Not the room I got. Facilities accept for s broken floor heater was adequate.

Very bad, really awful condition. The heat is not suitable for children and needs repaired to make it safe for habitation, everything is dangerous. Some of the staff are very rude and offensive.

Better to book somewhere else. Booking described as non-cancelable, but fine print also prohibits modifying the booking at all if travel plans change. Employee on the phone lied about bookings on later date being more expensive to try to charge more. Website shows prices are identical.

I don’t normally write reviews before checking out but wow…beautiful, spacious, spotless and a lovely location. Ignore the bad reviews this has clearly been refurbished and the staff are lovely. I’d give six stars if I could!

This is the first time I have ever given a negative review. Room 110 was poorly presented and was heated by use of a portable electric heater. The walls were filthy and in need of urgent redecoration. There was nowhere to hang towels in the bathroom and the drains were blocked in the shower. The car park charges are extortionate at £20.00 per night. Additionally and not the hotels fault, was the church bells ringing every hour through the night on twenty minutes to the hour. I am very disappointed with my experience at the Arch Hotel and unfortunately wouldn't recommend.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in , we had one room which had faulty wiring and a dangerous hand rail dirty walls and couldn't open the fridge fully because the bed was in the way. We asked to be moved which they did and www got a slightly better room that wasn't quite so dangerous as the hand rail going to the bedroom was in good working order but still had dangerous wiring in the bathroom a shower that was broken and a fridge that didn't work . We only stayed because it was coronation weekend and no more availability.

Its alright. Staff are really polite even though they where getting quite a lot of passive aggressive and sarcastic comments from guests most of the time. I think I would have slapped someone's soul out of them if I worked here. Only got 1 towel initially so had to dry myself with a hand towel, but got the job done. Also would have liked some booze in the mini bar. Otherwise it's pretty good.

I stayed there for 2 weeks and the bed is so comfortable and the room is spacious. The location is excellent near tube station and near many shops. The team was amazing and felt at home. I loved the idea of a renovated buildings that we should all support to preserve it. A biiig thanks to all the team that made it feel home. I have seen some negative comments , as if they were talking about a different place or were expecting a 7 stars facility. If you want a cost effective stay where you are comfortable try it.

We stayed in room 102. Sleeps 4 two bedroom. One room upstairs and one on the ground floor. Little odd as the top room looked into the bottom room and no privacy. The lights in the bathroom kept going off whilst showering and you couldn't see as no windows. The kitchen area is only a fridge sink. Kettle and microwave. Not good if you wanted to cook any foods. No where to sit in the room unless your happy to sit on your bed. One tv in the down stairs bedroom. Area of the apartment was a little tired and needs some TLC. blinds are knackered. But all in all rather pleased and served the purpose of what we needed it for. Staff are approachable and very helpful will do anything even help to jump start your car. Thank you. Would I stay again? Yes I would 100%... archway tube station is 3 minutes walk and 15 mins into London. Local shops. Parking available but extra cost that I think is a little cheeky and could be within the cost of the stay.

I'm rating this 5 because the price was amazing. The rooms are so quirky and the location just a few stops from Euston on the northern line is phenomenal. I thought the staff were outstanding as well. I would book here again.

  • 3/5 Sean P. 1 year ago on Google
Pros: Staff ok. Plenty of restaurants and stores nearby. Beds were comfortable enough for a night or 2. Cons: Parking is an extra.....£20 per night. I was fooled by the advert thinking that it was included. As others have said, the rooms and bathrooms need a good clean, a lick of paint and some love. A couch or comfortable chairs would also be appreciated, and proper blackout blinds should be considered. Could be a 4-5 star rating if the management were to take note of the comments left. I would have to be out of any other options to stay here again unfortunately.

24 hours Very friendly staff, clean comfortable safe location. Housekeeping is doing great job. I had a great stay no complaints and I had a parking for 5 days in London at a very good price. Definitely recommend this place.

The room was ok for 1 night for the price we paid although the lights weren't working so had to use a lamp, the blinds was hanging off at the top; shower was faulty. Wasn't happy to pay £20 parking fee when I was told it was free parking. Went for a walk & not much around to be honest.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!! The room I booked for £79, duplex room 115, was charge £90 when I got to the hotel. When I entered with my guest there were 3 flies in the room. (They also charge £20 for overnight parking - ridiculous) When we went to sleep, all night we kept itching our bodies and realised that the bed was infested with bed bugs. I even took pictures of the bed and it was filthy. This is not a proper hotel I have also contacted Trading standards as well, due to the lack of cleanliness in the property. Ps, furthermore when I called the reception to report this, she was very rude and kept saying “no there are no bed bugs.” “It was checked and cleaned last month” Which is very hard for her to say this, because she did not sleep in the bed. She continued to argue with me - terrible customer service. My advice- avoid and pay a little extra for a better hotel. (Oh and the walls and paper thin and you can hear everything around you)
