Such a lovely place! Perfect for a hidden gem to hang out at. I wouldn't recommend coming in large groups as it's not designed for that unless you hire the space out. Sat downstairs, which was quite a treat as it was super busy upstairs and no space left, so it was a lovely setting when arriving as it's always a good sign when somewhere is busy. Plenty of nibble choices, a mix of meats and plant-based options and the wines were vast. They offer various deals on different days and a membership you can sign up for online, and on a Monday, they offer retail prices for bottles, it's a good concept and the wine is of high quality. The staff are super friendly and helpful, knowledgeable and helpful when it's like that. It's very close to Liverpool Street, so it's super easy to reach for most! Had the most lovely wine tasting experience here for a friends birthday, Dani was very informative and answered each question with ease. The wine selection is on point and vegan friendly. Food is amazing, the broccoli and cheese boards I would highly recommend. All the staff are super friendly and made my experience there one I wish to come back for.

Friendly place with quite an extensive choice of wines by glass. The choice ranges from a monthly changing flight of wines, to over 20 individual wines (red, white, sparkling, rosé, orange...). Lovely plates you can choose from, on the side, and you're well on your way for a lovely evening.

Steaks all ordered medium rare with one blue, 2 came out perfect and two of them basically cooked medium (overcooked). We spent around £450 between 4 people and the service was not upto scratch, the waiter downstairs looked sightly inconvienced everytime we asked for something, it looked like it was too much effort to answer some of our questions, maybe its due to one staff memeber for a whole area. I still tipped him, hopefully the next person gets better service. It would have been nice to have been asked if we wanted sides with the steak (it doesn't come with any) if asked we would have ordered some. The wine was actually really good, great little intimate venue. I would return but would complain if the service is bad again.

Wine is really good. For the sharing starter, enjoy the one with rice and cheese . However not many choices in food , and didn’t see gluten free friendly alternatives.

Thank you for your knowledge of wine so I could choose some amazing wines! Even my fussy boyfriend was impressed :D 2017 Barolo was top! My steak was well cooked, chips yummy and Camembert?! Nice atmosphere, good wine, but service was very slow and the waiter had no knowledge about the wine, in the wine please 😂😂. Also it smelled of mould downstairs, not good. The food was tasty but portions were pretty small for the price, 17 pounds and I was still hungry after my main.

Bit of a mixed bag here. Main issue is that the place smells of toilets. Several of my party noticed this. Second is service. We sat downstairs as a party of six. We were served by a guy who was great and a woman who was completely disinterested, and at one point walked away when we were asking her a question. The menu is heavy on small plates and light on main dishes. But the food was tasty.

Really loved this place. We had a very nice and knowledgeable waiter, the wines we tried were all delicious, steak was cooked to perfection and just a generally good atmosphere. A bit more of a treat night in terms of price and I’d advise people sit upstairs as there is a bit more of a vibe but I would so recommend.

We only did drinks here and the champagne on the menu was great. We got a bottle to take home too! The flight tasting not so much though. usually with tastings there is at least one I like. Not this time...

Best people working there! Staff is super kind and warm, they will help you with anything you need including recommendations on hotels, places to visit etc. if you are a tourist. Wine is incredible and at a very reasonable price. Totally recommend this place!

we had a table booked and were on time. we were asked to wait for 10 min on the high chairs at the window and would then be sat down on our table. It never happened. We were not even given a menu or told how to order. Very unsatisfied experience unfortunately

The wine was alright, not bad, not good. The service was tough to take - I booked a table and was still left standing near the door for 20 minutes. When I finally got the table, someone made a motion for me to go down the stairs, at which point I had to work out which table was mine through process of elimination.

We just had a lovely time here sharing a nice bottle of white wine and a plater of sharing cheese. We were so pleased to find a young lady on the next table had paid our bill. It made my day. It was my father's funeral on Wednesday and this kind gesture meant so much to us. We will certainly pass the love on one day. And to the lady who paid our bill many thanks from Neil and Vicki

I just went for the Tuesday tasting 4 wines £15. Really worth it with a theme every week. The knowledgeable Dani made this evening very instructive and we discovered interesting wines i would have never ordered without his recommendation. Big fan of this Austrian off dry white made using an unknown (for me) grape variety : super complex

Hugo, Marcello and Chef Courtney hosted my work end of year celebration in July, and it was perfection: the ease of hosting 18 people, pre ordered food, additional food ordered on the day, ease of drinks, amazing hospitality and warm welcome of drinks on arrival, smiles and laughs from the HG team! We were all blown away. I came back with a friend last night, and the same three were there and delivered the same service to a fully packed & vibrant bar. It is amazing to see a team deliver consistently (and the wine and food was great too!)

Food here here is delicious. Ate the patatas bravas, Baba ghanoush and chorizo. It's definitely a place to share small plates with a group of friends. Service was excellent, our group had different allergies so the waitress was very helpful in providing an alternative menu indicating the allergens. She also helped us select wine based on our tastes. Superb place!

Disappointed on my birthday - it was lovely until I was questioned whether I had paid upon leaving. Massively upset given the great reviews and the waiter didn’t even apologise. I was not informed that I had to show a receipt of payment upon leaving.

This place never fails to deliver. Attentive and friendly service with unparalleled knowledge of all the wines on offer. I must call out the chef - he produces impeccable plates of food and remembers what you ordered and enjoyed on your last visit which is important once you reach your tipsy. Big love to Dani and Hugo too - always great hosts.

Just happen to be strolling by and wandered in looking for a quick glass of wine. Instead I had a whole experience! It was wonderful! Great snacks and cheese selection along with a wine selection for anyone. I’ll try to come back when I’m in this part of town. Hidden gem as others have said!
