First of all i dont appreciate being called an 'oyinbo' because i wanted to eat my poundo with a fork instead of using my hands. For hygiene i use forks when i eat in and you guys didnt even have proper washing facilites how rude to question my dark skinned blackness when you have the cheek to be bleached to high heaven. another customer made the point of the quality of the meat LUNGS! I dont know what piece of meat that is but it is not beef and comes like some kind of organ not meat. You lot are rude and have the audacity to charge big prices. Its unnaceptable. Your staff are rude as well and you need to be careful who takes your payment if you pay contactless make sure you check. the guy almost charged me £20 instead of the £8 it really was. if i didnt check i would have been over charged. Tesco value stormzy on the till needs the sack. ive been coming here since i was a child even my children and mother have been and i am so disappointed in how aso rock has decended into nonsense like this. all the comments about black businesses are right we are better than this. You have lost my loyal custom. to the owners of this place your families legacy always inspired me but you are allowing these new people to make a mockery of you and what your parents have built. Two words: FIX UP!!!!!!!!!

NO HOXTON PRETENSION, JUST AUTHENTIC NIGERIAN FOOD... When I was younger we had a term for this kind of place, we called it a "Sweaty Betty". It normally referred to an Indian Restaurant but gradually referred to any venue, that from the outside looked liked a guaranteed case of Salmonella, but once inside you discover the food is not only fantastically authentic but also outstandingly good. There's always been a good smattering of this kind of venue in London from the old stalwarts like the unrelated Stock Pots to the surprising new comers like the Roti King (Euston). And Asosrok is definitely a Sweaty Betty! On this occasion I had just finished seeing the BUFF (British Urban Film Festival) Gala Screening of A United Kingdom at the Rio Cinema just around the corner. The organisers were all Nigerian and recommended this establishment. I was so glad they did. Finding true authentic food from a different nation is very hard for a Londoner from Wales. Not least because we don't know how it should taste. Certain cuisines, we know well, so can compare. But with the upsurge of mixed cuisines (PanAsian, Italian Tapas etc.) it makes a true authentic experience difficult to recognise. But seeing as my guest were from Nigeria there could be no doubt about its provenance. The servings were hearty, flavoursome and cheap. I had the Yam Potage and a very unusual alcoholic beverage called Orijin. A beer/lager type drink at 6% ABV but containing no barely or hops ("a bittersweet blend with flavours of African herbs and fruit - Water, alcohol, sugar and plant extract (kolanut, prune, oakwood, bitter orange peel, wormwood)). A set meal, which would easily set you up for the day would cost you £5.50 for the small, that isn't (Any small Okele & Any type of Stew 2 piece of meat OR “6 Small Small” meat) or £7.50 for the large, that is. So if you find yourself in Dalston, especially after a Rio Cinema Visit would heartily recommend. If you're looking for real Nigerian food then it's a must.

I usually order from Uber eats, the food is tasty, authentic, good price and sometimes gets to me hot but a bit messy so I will leave 3 stars However on this occasion (the picture), I ordered Ayamase with rice and beans what I got for the Ayamase was oil and meat, usually there’s a bit of oil but this time around it’s too much! and I feel as though it’s deliberate - for delivery orders - because if you go in to order, they wouldn’t serve this to you Honestly very disappointing!

EXTREMELY RUDE ! I SAID I DONT EAT MEAT YET HE GAVE ME MEAT! I asked for a meat free meal and his colleagues switched my meal out of spite to meat MEAL! Because I pointed out that someone else got a large meal whilst I got small despite paying for more. and there was more than enough HONESTLY WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! THEY WERE SHOUTING AND EVERYTHING DESPITE ME REMAINING CALM! Because I don't be rude to people that deal with my food ..they didn't even ask about dietary requirements but they asked the other girl AND EVEN WHEN I SAID I DONT EAT MEAT as I'm a strict vegetarian/pescatarian REFUSED TO CHANGE MY MEAL! AND GAVE MORE ATTITUDE DESPITE THERE BEING LOTS OF FOOD! AND I HAD ALREADY PAID THE FOOD HAS TO GO IN THE BIN WASTE OF MONEY AND TRAVEL COST ! I WOULD'VE BEEN HAPPIER IF THE STORE WAS CLOSED RATHER THAN A DISRESPECTFUL SERVICE.. GET RID OF THE ASIAN BOY RUDE FOR NO REASON

This would be probably be the last time I set my feet on these premises after being a customer for over a decade. A week ago they got my order wrong and gave me lungs though I ordered only beef and I was served by the lady (the Nigerian one who bleaches her skin with lip piercing - sorry don't know her name) and she was extremely rude and had a nasty attitude however she was nicer to the non-black customers. To avoid any issues again, I called today before making way down (as I'm not local to the area) to ensure they had a decent amount of ayamashe stew and the Caribbean lady ensured me they had enough. Arrived 20minutes later, they brought out a new batch of stew just to be told they couldn't sell it to me as it's for customers until 10pm but I arrived 5pm so I'm perplexed as to why I was told to come down anyway. What other customers are they waiting for? 🤔🙄They didn't even apologize for wasting my time and making me coming all the way down just to be disappointed. Even telling me to order a WEEK BEFORE before to avoid disappointment. The bleaching Nigerian woman was constantly interrupting my conversation with the Caribbean lady which is highly unprofessional and she matters worse. These women have horrible customer service or maybe it's time of the month or menopause. This is why so many black owned businesses have a bad reputation and you expect loyalty from your OWN people. Utterly DISGRACEFUL. Please bring the men back as they're more efficient at providing better customer service. 😒

Extremely poor customer service and no menu in sight. As you walk in there is a tiny seating area to the right and serving counter to the left. At the time of my visit, the shop was empty but the kitchen staff were busy due to deliveries. From what I could see, it was disorganised and messy. It took around 5 mins before I was even acknowledged. The counter display had all sorts of food prepared but no labelling so it's anyone's guess to know what each dish was, though I knew what I had in mind to order. The lady who served me had an attitude and was not not at all helpful, she did not care to explain when asked what my options were instead she made me feel very awkward that I dared to ask. I ordered 2 x Jollof, stew, egusi and 2 x fried fish (small), total £23.00. She asked whether I wanted the food to be heated (microwaved), I declined and for some reason she thought to put the stew and egusi in the same container even though I asked for separate containers, I didn't argue as I just wanted to get out as soon as possible due to the lack of customer service and embarrassment she made me feel. The food itself was not bad but due to the treatment I received there, I will not be going again and do not recommend.

The food is good. I have been going there for years. Went the other day. The young lady who served me was friendly and polite. The young man however was very rude. He might have been having a bad day but being rude to your colleague and customers is very unprofessional. I will miss their food but will not be going there again.

Authentic Nigerian meals. Simply chef's kiss. Plus pretty fast delivery. Ordered on Sunday and got my meal in 40 minutes... from the other end of London! First experience didn't go quite well but they more than made up for it afterwards. They do need a more reliable delivery service though.

I used Asorock as one of the two caterers I had at my wedding in August, and they were the only caterers I used for my 60th birthday party last week. Their food is amazing! It is very delicious with authentic Nigerian flavours and was cooked fresh on the day. They also delivered all the way to Bedford from London.

In a city full of the usual take-away's and restaurants, try something different tonight with some quality Nigerian food! Good taste, decent portion sizes and always delivered on time.

Nestled in the heart of the city, Asorock is a charming family-run Nigerian restaurant that promises an authentic culinary journey. I had the pleasure of trying their Ayamase with rice and beans, and it was a delightful experience. I thoroughly recommend Asorock, they are the real deal. I will be back.

The food was great! I have organised this lunch for a monthly office lunch with the Black History month theme and the food was great and people were very happy with the choice! Ayo was great in terms of helping me place the order online and explaining how the website works. The puffs puffs are a very nice addition to the lunch, something sweet never hurt anybody. On the other hand, he should make sure he is organised a bit better and deliver the lunches at the time it was requested.

I enjoyed my eating in meal of Pounded yam and egusi. The price of the food is very reasonable. I also bough Jollof rice, fried fish and dodo to take away.

Where do I begin and with which dish?? So, firstly the puff puff snacks which are like sweet dumpling I usually buy to snack on or add onto my plate when eating the tasty and most gorgeous fish dish with joloff and plantain! Such good value for such amazing food and portions! My sis is vegan and so will have the: yam stew, beans, Plantain and rice and puff puff too! A feast of flavours and just love the vibe and staff are lovely and very informative about different dishes etc Spot on guys!

Lovely food delivered in time. Amazing customer service, my request was dealt with quickly and efficiently. I’ve waited to order 3-4 times before writing this review to see if there’s consistency in the way the restaurant attends to the customers and I was not disappointed once. Even when I made mistake with my order, one phone call and it was rectified. I could not me be happier. Thank you!!

I went in with a friend today for the first time and I was truly disappointed and saddened by the way the lady served us. Her attitude was very unwelcoming, I felt so uncomfortable. It was as if we have offended her by asking to buy food. Very unfriendly and facial expressions was 0! The owner should review her staff and check if they are not happy with salaries or not happy to serve people. The young man was ok but seems extremely tired and looks over worked. I will not visit there again but would check out the other two neighbouring restaurants. I’m sad because I love to buy from small minorities businesses but surely not this one. The food is good by the way, service is a disappointment.

The only thing I enjoyed was the fast delivery. I ordered rice and stew and the question I asked after tasting it was “didn’t the chef taste this food before selling it?” Not impressed with the stew made today

For Gods sake! This Ayamase recipe is not the same. I have been a customer for 15 plus years and I am sad that this secret family recipe has been destroyed. I ordered Ayamade and got nothing but palm oil with red ayamase even though its meant to be green. Please go back to your old recipe and teach your staff how to have GOOD customer service. You are a good business, don't let other destroy your family legacy. Thank you

Ordered on Uber Eats and was pleasantly surprised. The jollof rice was delicious, the shaki soft and tender as was the chicken. The stew was perfect and so was the plantain. Honestly nothing to complain about and all for £7.00?! Considering the prices that people have the audacity to charge for jollof rice alone these days, I thought it was almost too good to be true. Would definitely order again, this is a new favourite!

Outstanding service from Ayo and his team which is not something you get from businesses regularly nowadays. He went above and beyond to get a large amount of food to lots of locations within a specific time slot so lots of people could experience their wonderful Jollof rice. A huge thank you to you all at Asorock.

A very lovely and accommodating restaurant. We held a small corporate event for 20 people and everyone loved the food. All of it was delicious and disappeared in a matter of minutes - Red stew, jollof rice, plantains, suya and puff puff. If you need to contact the restaurant the whatsapp number has a very fast response time and they catered for all our needs: helping arrange the correct amount/type of food for the guests, changing the delivery time to suit us, delivering all the food hot and even offering us chicken and beef in the stew. Very happy with their service and would recommend to anyone planning to cater for an event.
