Great little aquatics shop. I feel privileged to have seen this place grow from the proprietors' back garden, to their current premises. Dedicated to making the hobby as environmentally friendly as possible, they have a range of natural products to help keep your aquarium in top condition. A good and growing selection of fish, shrimp and axolottle are in stock, with more available to order. Happy to share their broad range of fishkeeping knowledge and experience, the keepers are always friendly and welcoming. If you're an experienced fish keeper, or just thinking of settings up your first tank, this is the first place I would recommend. Always worth a visit!

Popped in today to look at nano aquariums to keep a betta and some companion fish in.Lovely shop and healthy fish.Found just the tank I was looking for at a good price.The lads in there gave us loads of great advice on setting up tank and helped with choice of gravel and tank decorations.Will be back soon for plants and later fish.Saw some gorgeous bettas !!! Well recommended as they really knew their stuff.

I’ve been a customer for a while now, and I have been really impressed with the dedication and expertise of the business. They made the process of setting my first tank enjoyable and relatively simple (with really good advice on how to set up and stock the tank, at affordable prices). But even better, they were always willing to give me advice and support if I needed it. They’re passionate about supporting you in the hobby, and about the welfare of their livestock. Can’t recommend them enough!

100% would recommend. Very good prices, fish look happy and none have died since purchasing them just under a week ago. Great little aquarium! They have a fantastic range of aquariums and accessories as well as live stock,the tanks all looked very clean and the fish all look good and healthy. Both gents in there are very helpful and knowledgeable, and seem like they would go the extra mile to help. Thank you sustainable aquatics, my new go to place.

Been far and wide in the search for good aquatics centers and though there are a few I hold in high regards, this lil hidden gem down a back road in rotherham of all places is by far the best, beautiful lay out, healthy, happy fish, super friendly and helpful staff and more plants, tanks and products than you could shake a fish at (they have lots of them too) me, my partner and my dad who all keep fish, in both ponds and tanks will be back again for any and all of our needs for the foreseeable future. :)

Popped in today...What a great little shop!. Fully loaded with quality fish keeping products, great looking fish on the tanks. I also had some great advice from the chap there. Really helped me out. Will definitely return for some fish and supplies again.

Decided to branch out into aquatics after a lifetime of reptile & invertebrate keeping. I’ve popped into Sustainable Aquatics twice now; the first time to pick up some spiderwood and new tank solution, and the second time to pick up a couple of assassin snails in order to combat the bladder snail epidemic my new plants (from elsewhere) had brought with them. During both visits I was given exceptional advice by both gents who seemed more than happy to help with my sometimes silly questions. I’ve come home with the assassin snails I set out for, and a healthy & beautiful betta fish to add to my first community tank. Reasonable prices, healthy & happy stock, & fantastic owners. It makes me so happy to see an aquatics shop who genuinely and consistently care for their stock!

We couldn't recommend Sustainable Aquatics any more. It really is a brilliant shop. They are simple, modern, tidy and extreamly clean. The fish look like they are looked after and they always have a good selection. They take the difficulty out of picking equipment too, they only stock a few varieties of each product (in which they know works well and can be trusted). The staff are brilliant - we have spent hours asking questions and they have helped answer all of our questions .They were polite and patient. So pleased we found it. A hidden gem 💎

Bought some very healthy plants ,loved how everything was labelled and told you which were easy and hard to grow , the fish tanks were spotless and everything very well kept ,information on the tanks telling you about the fish .The young man was very friendly, couldn't fault it.Would definitely buy from again.All reasonably priced.

Overrated. Wasn't worth the 20mile drive, called before hand to ask if they had the fish I wanted. Was told "yes we have loads" got there and they didn't have a single one. Shop is a lot smaller than what you would first expect. Definitely overrated (edited: was sustainable aquatics I'm referring too)

Hi was working and finished early so googled aquatics near me and came up with sustainable aquatics so nipped in. It's a fantastic shop a bit like alladins cave and the guy who helped me was fantastic will definitely go back as everything was fairly priced and not a rip off like most of the other places visited. Firstly noticed how clean the tanks are and how healthy the fish look. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable giving advice when asked on all kinds of topics. Will be purchasing from here in the future.

Wow what a little gem of a shop. The pond plants are in stunning condition in fact the whole shop is in fantastic condition. I didn't take any pictures inside as you need to see this place for yourself. Very good prices and very helpful staff. Some of the larger chain stores could learn a lot from this place. A small out of the way aqutics shop on an industrial estate that is really worth a visit. Very good prices on pond plants (which looked very healthy and cared for)pond supplies competatively priced, a very well set up and cared for business. All their aquariums were not overstocked and the water crystal clear, also had some adorable tiny baby axalotls! The staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. We have earmarked another visit to select our plants for our to be constructed pond.

What a wonderful little gem of an aquatics shop - really glad we popped over today. Initially just for a look but ended up bringing back some hardscape for my tank that has been sitting in our lounge empty since January! The aesthetic is very warm and friendly - the use of wood panelling really suits the environment as do the detailed hessian sacks on the roof ... trust me on this one! It just feels right! Love the way you have detailed basic FAQ's on the tank stands - my wife found it really interesting to read and encouraged her curiosity! I feel there may be another tank on the way soon ... The plant section was well stocked - have my eye on a few species I haven't seen before. Carl and Lee helped us to make an informed decision with our selection and we are sure to pop back up soon :) Great work guys!!

The best tropical fish shop we've ever been to! We will never shop anywhere else. Sustainable Aquatics are very reasonable in terms of prices and they have a huge range of fish, plants, tanks, decor and other useful items for your tank. The shop is clean and very spaced out and the guys are very knowledgeable and will always go above and beyond to help you. You get a nice welcoming vibe as soon as you enter the shop and we always come away extremely satisfied. You will not be disappointed!

I really like this shop, its not huge but the dry goods are selected well, clearly going for products they are prepared to recommend rather than just crank out. Its a very clean and tidy shop, I can see myself visiting regularly.

Absolute amazing place me and my girlfriend come regularly, they are always happy to help you and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. They have a good choice of fish and other things for you tank like air stones and food. And if you need to know anything about fish they will give you lots of useful information about them this is the best aquatics store around would highly recommend you will not be disappointed.

We went here for our little boys 1st fish tank. The guys here are so friendly and more then helpfull to newbies like us..guiding us on which fish to get with us being beginners and advising how to set up our tank and look after the fish ect. They have a fantastic range of fish,accessories for the tank and plants. We will always be going back here for our new fish and everything else..thanks guys much appreciated

Popped in this morning for some bog wood for the new 4ft tank (our 4th tank now) we come away with a very nice piece as they had a great selection of shapes and sizes available. We have also been considering having real plants but really haven't got the foggiest on how to keep them so the guys pointed out some great beginner friendly varieties and gave some good advice on how to keep them. And of course as always when you visit a place like this we ended up buying more fish! A very good variety of fish available in store and can order most fish in if requested. Top service. Will be back for sure.

i am new to keeping tropical fish and popped into this new store in Rotherham as it is near home and i feel very lucky to have found it. Lovely helpful staff, Carl and Lee who were patient with my every question and are obviously very knowledgable and care about what they do. I made a purchase, of a very happy fish now settled at home and feel secure that I could call up any time for advice.
