I booked an appointment for passport renewal via email. I was under the assumption that it was a one to one appointment due to covid-19, but in fact it was day slot. We still have to take a number and wait. But the service is really fast. We were third in queue and everything was done within an hour. The staff (it was a gentleman) who served us was really patient and nice. Just to note, for passport renewal you will need to bring: 1. Current passport 2. MyKAD/ MYkid/birth certificate - original and photocopy (front and back) 3. UK immigration status document - BRP - original and photocopy (front and back) 4. Payment - £41(adult) £21 (child below 13) - They only take exact cash They do have photocopy machine which take coins only. Cost 20p per sheet. Please check the website for latest update. If travel by tube then take Piccadilly line stop at Hyde Park Corner station. Follow exit No.4.

Renewed my passport today. A few reminders for others before going there: 1. You MUST make an appointment online for your renewal. You’re required to show the booking either online on your phone or a print it. 2 people were turned away. 2. Upon arrival collect a ticket number and wait for your turn. 3. Bring cash for the payment: £41. No cards accepted. 4. Collection time is 1-1.30pm only not 2-3pm as stated on website. You can either queue to collect passport or wait for your name to be called. Applicant must be there to collect as a signature is required. 5. Photocopy machine available at 20p per copy. 6. Photo is taken there on the spot, so there is no need to bring any passport photos. 7. I printed and completed the passport renewal form but it wasn’t needed. Other than that, quite a pleasant experience. Service was good.

Start from August onwards, they get back to normal operation hour. Walk in for immigration service and consular service are acceptable during submission hour. I renewed my passport last week and was arrived 8:20 a.m. At 8:30 a.m. the officer had opened the door and let us took the number and seating inside the office. At 9 a.m. they started to call the number one by one, collect documents, scan thumbprints, take photo. It’s my turn at 9:30 a.m. 5 mins of deal with documentation and took photo. After that, they ask me come back to pick up and 3 p.m. At 3 p.m., everyone queue up and pick up the new passport one by one then it’s done. Smooth service for passport renewal.

Please do your homework, research, call for enquiries before you come or else expect to be lectured. Remember to bring IC and passport for all matters to be safe. Be prepared to wait as there is a long queue. While waiting, why not treat yourself some Nasi Lemak at £5/box.. I've tried the beef rendang and it taste good.

Just finished renewing my passport at the Malaysia High Commission in London. I must say this must be the most efficient passport renewal service ever(compared to the British). I arrived from Glasgow at Victoria Coach Station around 8.15am and walked to the high commission arriving at 8.30am. I was there without appointment so want to make sure I am early. There has been talks about appointment and no appointment. I think my view is if you are there without appointment, make sure you are early early. I went there half expecting I will be refused at the door. But when I was inside, I saw there is notice on the board stating it will accept walk in from August, till then it is still appointment unless it is urgent case and it will still be a squeeze and no guarantee. So I was the first one there. The place is totally empty when I arrived at 8.30pm but someone came down and told me they start at 9am. So I took a number and waited. 2 more people came in before 9am and when I was called at 9am, the whole process only took 5 minutes and I am out. And when I went back at 1pm for collection, there was a lot of people inside and outside. One of the counter was still taking submission and the other counter was for passport collection but queue system. So I joined the queue. Then when the submission finished, the lady at the counter, which I assume is Jesmin, start calling the numbers as per the number you took in the morning so my name was called first. Out within 15 minutes. I am so impressed and want to thank the staff for being so efficient.

Went there for passport renewal today. Process was smooth and staff are friendly. Some tips & experiences: - I arrived early before 8.30am the door already open so I straight away went and take the number (I was number 3). They started the process at 9.00am. I got it done at 9.20am. Every was clear and easy. - Please remember you need to pay cash and exact amount only (bring few pound extra just incase you forgot to print anything document like me lol) - Remember to bring IC & photocopy as well. For people like me holding a digital BRP (graduate visa), print the confirmation email of your digital BRP that have your name and visa expiration date that was sent by the UK Home Office when they granted your visa. - They charged £1 for printing & £41 for passport renewing for adult (Age 13-59). If you are uni student below age 21 bring your student card and they can disocunt for you - £21. Also £21 for kids below 13 & 60 and above. -Obivously bring your original passport also lah. -Collection at 3pm, smooth process. All these info can mainly be found on their website but you know malaysia government website always quite difficult to navigate.

This is my experience of renewing my Malaysian Passport, dated 22 March 2022, if it’s helpful for anyone in similar situation. From the Malaysian High Commission London website (as of 22 March 2022), it stated that from 1 April 2021 onwards for passport renewal, we will need to use an online appointment booking form which looks something like this: sto.imi.gov.my. The earliest appointment slot is in September 2022 (the last time I checked the booking form was in mid-March). Given the 6 months waiting period, I was very worried because my passport will expire very soon. The Malaysian High Commission website also stated that without the online appointment booking, we will not be able to enter. Nobody from the Malaysian High Commission replied my emails or answered my calls. This is worrying and absolutely stressful. I decided to just go ahead and applied for passport renewal online using the Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia website, choosing London office as my collection point, and I paid online. I printed out the receipt. I literally turned up at the Malaysian High Commission Immigration department two working days later, expecting I will be turned away because I did not use the online booking form to book an appointment. Turns out, it was business as usual. I arrived at 9am (outer gates opens at 9am), took my waiting number at 9.30am (immigration department opens at 9.30am), submitted my forms (photocopy IC, photocopy visa, photocopy passport, online passport renewal receipt) when it’s my turn. The staff is very friendly and efficient. Nobody checked if I have the online appointment booking confirmation slip. By 9.50am I’m out of the Malaysian High Commission. I went back at 1pm same day to collect my new passport. That’s it! Job done! Hopefully the Malaysian High Commission website will get updated soon! The online appointment booking form is not needed anymore (at least in my experience). Hopefully this review can help anyone else in similar situation as I was, stressed out by the lack of slots on the online appointment booking form.

I went to the Malaysian Embassy in London on the 15th Aug to renew my passport, I’m going to share some tips for anyone going in the future. 1. It is located at Belgrave square, only a 15/20 mins walk from the Victoria train/coach station. Can be easily spotted once you are near the Belgrave gardens. The correct address is online and you walk down the stairs for the consultancy and immigration. 2. Photocopy the required documents (this is listed on the website). However, I photocopied all my documents incase they wanted anything more than required. 3. As stated online, it is now a walk in service, no need for appointment bookings. Although the consultancy service was not available on this day. I recommend you either call/email in advance to make sure you’re not wasting any time. 4. Get there before 9am. I had arrived at 8:30 and the doors were already open and there was a queue inside. Grab a ticket from the machine and wait in the room until you hear your number called. It is difficult to hear the calling of numbers in any other place although it is shown on the board. 5. There’s no physical form to fill in anymore, it is done at the desk digitally. 6. Cash only and coins for the photocopier (I believe the photocopy was 20p/30p and only accepting specific coins i.e. 10p/20p’s). For over 60yrs, it is discounted to £21 altogether including the passport photo (listed on website). 7. Dress code: some people wore shirts without collars and that was fine. There was a lady who needed to put a blazer on but that was it. I do recommend wearing a shirt with a collar incase as this was the requirement for previous years. 8. Although the collection time is stated from 3-4pm the same day, I had collected my passport at around 2:30pm. Keep your ticket number safe, you will need this to collect your passport! There was only one person fully working this day, although another counter was open and I saw another member of staff. The service was slow but if you have everything together in advance, it becomes a much quicker process for everyone. I was served at around 9:45am and got out of there at 10am and then to collect the passport at the time mentioned above.

Went for my Malaysian passport renewal last week. The whole process was very efficient and smooth. Collected my number and waited. When it was my turn, all it took was 5 mins and all done. The collection process was also very easy. There were a lot of customers but the staffs there appeared to know what they're doing, going through each case very efficiently. From this experience, definitely 5/5 stars.

We came to register our infant's birth with the Consular service (not open on Monday) and then apply for a passport with the Immigration service, both done in one day. As other reviews may have already mentioned, the office at the lower ground level is open for taking numbers around 8.30am. We took 2 numbers at the same time, one for Consular (Birth cert) and one for Immigration (passport). Even if it's already your turn to apply for the passport, while you still need to wait for your turn to apply for the birth cert, they will still attend to you regardless of the number queue, so don't worry about having to get another number and queue again. The birth cert requires 2 sets of document photocopies, while the passport only requires 1 set. Fill in the copy of Borang D first, and the counter will double check the details for you before asking you to fill in the actual Borang D. If you do not have photos ready, they will take photos for you, all for £10 (they gave us 4 printed photos). *Parents: You'll need to get thumb prints from your child, just try your best, the staff won't be too strict. Plus, the staff will pass you a tailor's measuring tape to measure your baby's height. Birth cert - £10 Photos - £10 Postage for birth cert -£5 Child passport - £21 Try to get the exact amount of cash (no cards accepted!), although the counter was flexible enough to give me a £5 change. Also, although the counter staff mentions you can only collect your passport from 3pm onwards, you can try your luck going in early. I was No.15 in the queue, but went in at 2.15pm, and the passport was ready for collection. Overall good experience, efficient staff and quick process.

To any foreigner who wishes to go to Malaysia I have only two words for you `good luck!`. It seems the embassy is poorly managed and incapable of meeting customer requests as illustrated by the fact that I visited the embassy at 12 to apply for a Visa Without Reference and was sent away on because: `we are closed`, `you need an appointment`. This is not to even mention the subsequent time when I had a supposed `meeting` booked by the same person only to come and wait in line for 2 hour past the agreed `meeting` time. I think it makes sense why Malaysia struggles with its immigration laws, because it has no system in place to deal with people coming in, which is a shame as Malaysia is a great country to visit, too bad you wont get the chance to because no one will see you.

Super quick service to renew my passport - took a number and waited a few minutes, then document submission and picture was really quick. They told me to come back 1 hour later to collect my passport and didn’t have to wait. However, booking the appointment was abit difficult. The online booking service was not working, so I sent an email. They took a few weeks to come back and said they were fully booked for the next 5 months, however suddenly offered me an out-of-hours slot the next day (very last minute as the email was sent at 7pm the day before). So technically I got a next day service somehow - if you are struggling to book an appointment maybe try ask for out-of-hours service.

I have called the high commissions twice on different matters, and both times people who answered the phone were just rude. Please train your staff on handling phone calls. This time, I was calling to enquire about a certificate of good conduct. Before I have the chance to explain what will be my question, she cut me and asked when did you submit? I said I submitted it last night..she cut me again, ok wait 2 weeks, doesn't mean you submitted you get it right away! Of course, I knew that. I then politely trying to explain that wasn't why I called, I called to get clarification. I said I called because of the acknowledgment slip stating that I need to wait for 1 to 2 months, whilst the UK website said differently. She then said you should find information on our website, not the UK. If you want information about us, why check the UK? I was trying to explain to her that when I received the job offer email from the UK body, the email already provided a link to Malaysian requirement on how to apply the certificate which I found different upon completing the form on e-konsular website. Hence I called to get clarification. Instead, I was attacked by her questions. And sort of blaming me for not finding information on e-konsular which I did but I just wanted confirmation. . She sort of telling me only call the office when my business has settled and stated passed online. So what was the purpose of the phone line then?if we can't call to get an advice. I need a valid info to pass to my prospective employer within a limited time hence I called. It was just a simple question. Her customer service was awful.

Really polite gentlemen at the door telling people what where they should wait and at the counter. All can go smoothly for customers is if you read the website instructions and have all the documents. Happy service for everyone.

Courteous and professional staff. I went there to renew my passport, and the overall process was systematic which was as explained on their website. The queue moves fast, I was in and out in 30 mins (~9:30-10am) with around 10 applicants ahead of me for the first part of the passport renewal process. I was told to return at 3pm to collect my new passport. However, I have deducted a star because the process to collect your passport is disorganised since you don't get called in the order you arrived in, which means it's a "free-for-all", but the crowd was small on the day I was there so people tend to follow their turn, although it's just as easy to act selfishly I would expect. I'm unsure if this was because the queueing system was turned off on purpose during the collection process. No complaints apart from this, because it's a relatively smooth process. Oh, and they only take cash, no card transactions. Having exact change is your safest option for a speedy application. Go to their website and read to make sure you have all the relevant documents in hand.

First time here - from my experience and observation, the staffs are really nice. Submitted my documents at 10.30am and came back 5 hours later. New passport is ready! When I arrived in the morning, there were maybe four people before me.

For those planning to renew Malaysia passport from EU countries close to UK. You can do a day or one night trip easily! Review: I travelled from the Netherlands on the morning flight (22 Aug) and manage to make it here at 11.30am before the mentioned cut off time of noon (Tip: you can take a number from the machine right till 11.59am) Got attend around 1.20pm (long wait as only 1 counter later 2 was open) Bring all the original documents copies corrected as per checklist and it will be a breeze. Collected passport at 3pm. Note: I applied via online system (not recommended as the system is really bad) so no payment required otherwise its cash only £41

It's Malaysia! Staff are friendly, well verse in English and Bahasa and I am pretty sure of some other languages. With Covid-19, all entries are by appointment, via website, and should the link is dropped, you can email them, email is on the website. They reply very quickly. I was there for passport renewal and got it a new back in 2 hours ... hooray for Malaysia.

Great place to have a passport renewed, or other consular services! I'd definitely recommend it as *the* place to go for any Malaysians wanting to renew their passport. Oh... and bring cash. They don't do card yet. It would be 5 stars if they did.

Probably the easiest passport renewal I've ever experienced. I came early at 8.30am and the doors were already opened. The 2 people before me didn't show up so I was first in line and was called to to be processed even before the official 9am time. I then came back at 2.30pm for the 3pm pickup time and was able to collect my passport before the official time as well leaving me more time to explore the city. Even had a pleasant chat in Malay with the guy at the counter too.
