Just because it’s not a Marriott or a Hilton it’s not somehow outmoded as some people claim. It has its own historic and elegant charm and decor. Very helpful staff, beautiful surroundings in this little known city which surprises with its unexpected Baroque opulence. This hotel is an outstanding landmark for that city and may it so continue.

Beautiful classic hotel and restaurant. Very centrally located. Next to the famous Brno Music Congress. The restaurant serves nice and delicious food. We have trout with garlic sauce. Will surely stay here again in the future.

I like this place, but it's pretty bad. That needs some explaining: first and foremost, I like it for the big rooms, high ceilings and an unfathomable charm. The charm of this place is unfathomable because it's not carefully constructed, but rather the effect of the history of the place being open for all to see. The ceilings are high and the rooms big because the building dates back more than 100 years, likewise the marble stairwell and iron balustrades hark to that era. Then the ancient telephones and cheap curtains remind you of the socialist past. Pretty much everything else is reminiscent of a cheap refurbishment 20 years ago, and everything since being done on a limited budget, without too much care or attention for the overall effect. The bathroom fittings are hilariously dated. As a taller guy I had to sit in the bath for my morning shower (it's hung level with my chest). There's no air conditioning and the furniture is solid but dated. The armchair looks like something out of a nice old-people's home. And yet, for all this, I like the really big room and the amazingly high ceilings. The room is very clean and without any cleaning or maintenance issues. The reception staff are nice and there were no problems checking in or out. The breakfast was the worst I ever had in a hotel that calls itself 4-star, anywhere. Stale bread rolls but the sliced bread was ok. The butter was hidden amongst the supermarket spreads and slice cheese and ham. I had a quick look at the eggs and quickly looked away. The orange juice, instead of being watered down, was more like water that had a little orange juice added. The staff were joking among themselves more than serving customers. This place badly needs a proper refurbishment. I don't know why they think it's 4-star, it's not. The breakfast staff need some training and supervision. The breakfast needs an overhaul. The telephone is hilarious, as is the bathroom. The ceilings are high, the rooms are big and clean, there's a door to the next room I can hear the neighbours through. It's bad, but I like it.

Very centrally placed hotel, built 120 years ago, with large bedrooms, clean and comfortable but in need of updating. The room rates are very reasonable for the city centre hotel. Unfortunately, the breakfast was very poor, with most food running out an hour before the set end of breakfast. We understand this was due to a large group of tourist descending at once and the kitchen was unprepared for the large numbers of diners.

The staff in the hotel is really welcoming, friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the breakfast as well. Unfortunately, I didn’t like the rooms. Although they were clean, they are quite old. The bathrooms should be renowated and baths are not a good idea in a hotel.

Nice hotel to stay at in the center of the city. It feels a bit old, specially in the bathroom, but that doesn't mean anything particularly bad (well, a lack of electric plugs, there were only two I could see). All worked fine and the service was always really nice. The breakfast included in the price was slightly disappointing and by the second morning we preferred to go somewhere else and pay for it. But being included is not something that I'd complain much. Probably you can order other things if you pay them.

Breakfast is nice but our rooms were very dated. There was a weird smell in the room and it didn't feel very clean. Service from the frontdesk was good. Free wifi is available. The location is perfect: just a few minutes walk to the central square.

This is an old building fully renovated. The position with respect to the center of the town is very good but of course if you have a car you will find difficulties to park it. The breakfast is fair but the refill rate is a little bit slow. The personel is very helpful and the hotel has a very good restaurant. The price about 80€ for a double room was also very fair considering that you are in the centre.

The location, breakfast and service are good. But rooms are too old, and you may face problems with your shower, that does not switch, no shower curtain, blow-dryer may also break in your hand. No AC, TV is small. Not that terrible, but doesn't cost it's price. The restaurant of the hotel is great.
