I stayed one night at the hotel, 05/04 to 05/05/2022, room 902. The problem was that I found a giant spider there. The next morning at checkout, I reported the issue to the staff and they simply minimized the issue. I commented that I would report this on booking.com and they just canceled my reservation saying I didn't check in. But here's the photo.

Avoid if you're after good night's sleep To me, this hotel has many serious drawbacks: - The soundproofing is hilariously bad: the walls, the door, and the windows readily pass through sound - The hotel blasts two high-powered LED lights on the facade which results in the room being super bright at night (despite the blackout curtains) - Family rooms are located right next to elevator, allowing you (indirectly) to take part in the social life of all other guests on the floor - The room equipment is in various states of disrepair - For a "family" room there are essentials missing (no kettle, no cutlery, no plates, 1 set of glasses) - In our room (311) the AC unit worked slightly in one room and didn't at all in the other - The bed mattresses are generally horrible (but that's in majority of hotels) - The cleaning happens sporadically - Complaints / requests for repair made to staff will be swiftly ignored - Physical security of the door is questionable - Even though they give you invoice in EUR, they will still charge your card in CZK (no, can't be changed, I checked) - They demand 100% of the price upfront (given all the points above, I'm not surprised... otherwise we'd have bolted after first night) On the upside: - The breakfasts are good - The initial room cleanliness was good Overall, this is in no way a 4-star hotel. Two stars at best? The only really positive thing I have to say about the hotel is the breakfast; everything else is between "meh" and horrible. ---- To add more color to my review: Soundproofing: We could hear the guests in adjacent rooms (which is kinda bad when they return from a Friday night out... at 2:30 am... and proceed to party for the next several hours). The door is (in terms of sound dampening) basically not there -- if there's someone walking in the hallway, you will hear it. Ditto for elevators opening. The windows are also leaky: ambulance sounds, people partying next door (there's a disco/concert hall next door), random folks shouting outside? All clearly audible through closed windows. Insulation: BAD. The light level: This is one of the things where the hotel prioritizes itself (visibility) over the guests. They blast two powerful LED floodlights at the facade. And since the blackout curtains are far from perfect, the light leaks through and the whole room lights up like 6am at summer morning. When I asked whether they could do something about it, I got negative response. Silly me. The room: There's no kettle. No plates, no cutlery. If there were no minibar, I'd bet you a doughnut there would be no drinking glasses either. Further, our room (for four) had 3 chairs. The mattresses have seen a better days and (to me) are supremely uncomfortable. But I have encountered that issue in many hotels, so I'm not that surprised. The pillow was so bad that I went to Jysk and bought myself a memory foam pillow... to survive the 9 nights there. The AC unit: In one room it only loudly hummed and emitted some sort of bbq odor. No cold air. In the other room it worked somewhat (but was also super loud). When complained about this... well... the staff wrote it down, and nothing changed. The cleaning: Initially the rooms were nicely clean. Later, I don't think anyone cared much. We stayed 9 nights and by the end of it, there was visible build up of dust in the bathroom and on other surfaces. Also, the hotel has a policy of "if you want your towels changed, drop them on the floor". Cool. We wanted ONE of the towels changed. Dropped it on the floor... and received full clean set. Happened more than once. Super weird... but ok. Physical security: There's a big gap under the door, lending itself to "under door" attack (opening the door from the other side with a simple tool). Be forewarned... and mitigate if you know how. Invoicing / payment: So I was given an invoice in EUR, and then forced to pay in CZK. Because apparently that's how they roll. In any case, you will be billed 100% of the stay upon check-in. That alone should have been a major red flag. Sigh.

Last night my wife and I checked in to thus hotel. We were planning to stay here for the weekend and have some rest, explore Brno. Unfortunately as it turned out, in the same building right next to the hotel there was a bar and people were partying in front of it all night. The music was loud, they were yelling, screaming, partying. Despite the window kept closed all night long, it helped none given the noise level and the poor sound isolation of the window and walls. I complained at the reception but they informed me that this is not a new problem for them. If so, then I consider promoting those rooms a scam as it is because they have to know people will either leave or stay suffering. Around midnight I asked the guy at the reception to call the police, they 'allegedly' called and they again 'allegedly' came, because it made no difference at all. The partying went on till 4:00 4:30 am. So we checked out and left dead tired the next morning. I was not able to request a refund given the cancellation policy did not allow me to. However, i booked this place in good faith not knowing this would happen. Despite the cancellation policy I consider this situation beyond unfair so I am also letting everyone to know before they consider staying here.

My parents stayed there for almost 2 weeks recently, and at the end they were charged for 2 bottles of wine that they supposedly drank from the fridge, which is absolutely impossible (my mother doesn't drink alcohol at all, my father hates wine). I tried to reason with them, to which their repeating response was "the cleaning lady counted the bottles and saw that 2 bottles were missing, it can't be a mistake". Our conclusion is that either the hotel staff uses the hotel services/products and writes the bill on guests' names, or that they forgot to charge the guests who did drink them and left before my parents did and decided to put the bill on them instead. Either way, my parents were extremely disappointed and left the hotel one day before they should have. Fellow negative reviewers convince me that we're not the only ones who this happened to. Such a small incident that could have easily been solved ruined an otherwise good impression of the hotel.

We would NOT recommend this hotel! We stayed here while I had eye surgery, my partner and I was extremely disappointed given the cost. We stayed for 5 days and our room was cleaned once, we asked for the “free” coffee in the room to be stocked up this never happened. The bathroom has no shower curtain or screen so while showering the hole bathroom is socked, leaving all the towels wet. The AC barely took a dent out the heat of the room, there is no international tv other than the news channel. The sky bar advertised is at an extra cost even as a resident you have to pay extra before purchasing any drinks it is €14 entry. The health suit is much the same, it is only a plunge pool, a sauna that wasn’t switched on and a gym you couldn’t get into. There was a sun terrace outside with two beds not worth the extra charge - we refused to pay. The breakfast is extremely overpriced and a very basic variety. Service from staff was disgusting not welcoming or amenable don’t expect a smile Over all Poor!

The hotel is located not very far from the city center. But there are not a lot of advantages. We arrived at 12:00 and were ready to wait until the agreed time of check in (14:00). But we only got our keys at 15:00. Moreover, it was a key for a room with 2 separate beds even though we booked a one with a big bed. Fortunately,  they agreed to change the room. There is no free water in it, so you can only buy it for 1.8€. Also, no kettle. Bathroom is the biggest disappointment as there is no even one socket. By the way, there are no sockets near bed as well, so you can charge your phones only if unplug TV. Talking about bathroom, there is no any bath screen so when you have a shower there is water everywhere. You also can forget about bathrobes and slippers. I can agree with the below comments, that breakfasts are ok. There is enough choice. The hotel website says there is bowling and billiard downstairs,  but you can forget about it as well. As the receptionist said it was closed for reconstruction but for some reason they didn't mention it on the website. 2 stars for location and breakfast.

I'd give 3 and 1/2 stars. The location is a little farther away from the Brno center. The cons: - After half past 9pm water for showering was practically not warm anymore. - Keycards didn't work properly. - WiFi was lagging. - Toilet didn't stop running water. - The interior is a collection of furniture from the 90s. The pro: - service staff was engaged and friendly - rooms were clean - beds were cosy - breakfast buffet was included in the price and very well All in all an OK location maybe not exactly 4 stars. This should be a little more reflected in the price imo.

An outdated hotel of another decades. The worst of all is of course the "so-called" wellness room with hot tub and sauna. In the hot tub it is literally a hole with a machine that makes bubbles with cold water, in the sauna you have to spend some time to understand the temperature .The worst of all was of course that 10 people piled into a 5 meter diameter pool while they gave us the impression that it will only be used by us for the one hour we booked it. Don't waste your money honestly

Bed was comfortable and TV has english channel. Wifii was really strong! Breakfast was great with lot of choices. However there was no shower curtain and door lock was not easy to open and its not locking sometimes. Pay attention to it. Back from a walk, we found our room was not locked! But luckily nothing was missing.

Meanwhile this is the best large hotel in Brno, at least for business visitors. It has underground parking for an additional reasonable charge. Service is good, breakfast tasty and mostly fresh. Sometimes there were "second day" vegetables though...

The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast equals some of 5-star hotels I’ve stayed in. There are also retro bikes available which makes roaming around the city pretty easy. Even by foot the hotel is no more than 10 minutes from the city center.

Cool hotel, extremely helpful and kind reception who understands a joke. The room was clean, the wellness was small but they didn't shy away from turning up the sauna +1 for that.

  • 3/5 Luboš N. 8 months ago on Google
For the price the room was nothing much. Bed is extremely low, its wierd to stand up from it. Bathroom has only a bathtub, NO curtain, NO divider, NO holder for the shower head, so its difficult to wash and ofc the water ends up everywhere. Door into the bedroom were resized, looks like an amateur DIY job, same goes for tiling of the bathroom. Room sound insulation is nothing much, you can hear people from the opposite room across hallway. Otherwise good location, close to center. Theres bar and grill right next to the hotel, though the service looked that they want to be left alone and were bothered with us ordering something.

Mr. receptionist with eastern accent seemed very annoyed. Almost rude, actually. We checked in at late night/early morning hours this Sunday, extremely tired, so we undestand that staff can be irritated after such an exhausting weekend, due to the national holiday and rave event in the Hotel on thursday, but it is no reason to treat us so curt. The other day there were two other receptionists, both of them sweet. The room was not bad, just the bathroom had a funny smell. Overaly not worth the price, especialy when it came with an extra "late check in" fee.

This is a nice hotel with all of the general amenities one might want. It is close to the city center if you want and easy to head away if you want also. I strongly suggest considering if in town.

Superb hotel, very friendly staff, luxurious and affordable, breakfast menu was very generous and great variety, hotel was super clean and beds very comfortable. Very easy to get to the city centre, either walking or taking trams (2 or 3 stops)...Loved the hotel and will most definitely be back when in Brno again :-)

Very friendly staff and the food in the restaurant was really nice. Location was good for me because I was working in the area. It was also a nostalgy trip back to the 90´s Must have been high end at the time but now I think this should be preserved for generations to com. An icon of the era.

Too overpriced for what it was. NO HOT TUB LIKE ADVERTISED. €9 fee to use the sauna, no breakfast included. Overpriced. Room was fine and clean but not worth the price.

The hotel itself is a bit outdated, but you will find everything you need apart from the coffee/tea option in your room which I think should be a standard for a 4-star hotel. Other than this, I had small incidents with no towels in the room and also rude staff in the reception. I stayed in this hotel during my business trips and after the last one, I will be looking for another place.

Stayed many times. Spacious rooms. Very clean. Great breakfast buffet. Great view. Only downside is smell in the bathroom. Probably old plumbings. Apart from that, perfect.

DO NOT COME here for Friday to Saturday, unless you want to be up all night from the round the corner partying. Aggressive and noisy party boys and girls will keep you up. Police didn't care, hotel security were used to this and were not bothered. At the end, it ruined our otherwise pleasant hotel experience and we'll never come back again. Definitely not for the weekend.

Good hotel un Brno! spacious room, comfy bed, nice staff - friendly and helpful. cheap parking within the hotel or option to park outside. Great breakfast buffet.

It was clean, unfortunately the wellness center was not usable and neither was the bowling. The receptionists were helpful. We had to wait for the room, but we got a free soft drink for it. We will definitely come here again.

  • 4/5 Alpha B. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel service was great. The breakfast had lots of options and did not disappoint. The restaurant in the hotel is also very good. The main reason I'm only giving 4 stars is because I had a broken shower head holder in my bathroom and there are no really accessible outlets anywhere in the room. You either have to unplug the TV or crawl under and around furniture to reach the floor level outlets and lose a lamp.

Great room, meh service. When I asked for help making a reservation with a local restaurant they smiled and shrugged their shoulders. It seems they can only throw business to the on premises restaurant.

We stayed one night at this hotel. The room and that bath were clean and tidy. Nice white towels and vanity kit with everything you need. Friendly service. You can take a nice walk through the park to the historical city center (ca. 30 min.)

It's bit of the city center but it's worth to stay here. I was very satisfied with this stay. I didn't find anything I didn't like. If I will have chance I will stay here once again. Giving 5 stars to this hotel.

Would not recommend this hotel at all to anyone. - Everything is outdated about this Hotel. - Bathtub does not have curtain, the bathroom ceiling is lower than 2 meters, so good luck if you are a bit tall trying to take a shower. - Breakfast is basic with few choices. - Staff generally are not well trained for hospitality; poor English, inattentive and one (lady) was outright rude. - Bed is small and not comfortable. - Location is far away from city center. There are many better hotel choices in the city, do not waste your many and time.

Coming here second time. In spite of some bad moments last time, decided to stay at the same hotel. Firstly we were given the room at the 6 floor, but there were 2 beds, and we (me and my husband) made reservation for double bed. So we asked for change the room as we reserve. Woman at the reception said that she was not sure that they they have any (monday evening, not holiday, normal day, winter🤷‍♀️, so definitely not high season and obviously half of the hotel is empty). But ok, she said we can move to another one at the second floor. We moved and i noticed in the new bathroom that there is no salt for bath. We stay in this hotel second time, so i now thT they have bathtubs and salt bath. And i was dreaming to have the bath after the long road. At the first room there was salt for bath, but obviously i didn’t take it, because i expected it in the second room also. I thought that probably they forgot to put it there, it happens. I went to reception. And lady at the reception said that it is just for rooms in high floors. What? So, said I, there is the same room, the same bathtub, the same money, but i cannot have salt for bath because i changed the room (changed because of your mistake btw)? The lady said that she will try to contact the cleaning staff if they at place, they will bring it to me. Ok, we said, please bring to the room, we will be out for dinner. Lady said that she will try to do so. When we were getting out of the hotel, i saw the housekeeper with a lot of salt for bath in her hands, she was heading to the elevator. I thought, great, very nice people, they will bring salt. When we come to the room after in 2 hours - we don’t have any salt for bath, reception just ignored us. I guess it so difficult to bring the salt from 6 floor to the 2. It is special service for “special” high floor. Thank you very much for you kindness. Don’t want to stay again in such hotel that lie and don’t care for people Attaching pictures of that “high level room with salt” Overall everything is old here. Big rooms, but windows need to be changed - a lot of noise from street and wind coming. Hair dryer looks like older then me, doesn’t dry properly. Second time here and second time not friendly and rather rude reception. Every time trying to say prices in euro even we ask in cz crowns (come on we are in Czechia! And we live here!) The one good thing - restaurant here. Upd. In the evening i also was very cold, because room was cold and heating didn’t really work well. I called at the reception and asked for extra blanket. Lady said that she will bring it. She really brought them and also handed a salt for bath (and i didn’t mention it this time). They they acually can give it and can bring it. But obviously they need some “real” reason to go to you. And i actually was supposed to call them or ask again. How could i know this?

I would rate this 3.5 stars if I could, however, the absolute kindness and flexibility from their parent hotel Don Giovanni in Prague, definitely merits 4 stars. I arrived very late (02:00 am) which I was assured would not be a problem. When I arrived, the reception tried to have me charged for the room again, even though it was already paid in full. Stating that the room was not paid for. When I mentioned that I had confirmation that it was indeed paid in full, it apparently was no problem. The hotel was quiet and overall nice. I have to say that the standout feature of the hotel was the breakfast bufé. I have stayed at several hotels in Prague and I can confidently say that no hotel has yet come even close to as good of a breakfast bufé as this one. Normally, you would find hotel breakfasts boring and samey after a few days, but here you can truly vary your breakfast and everything was fresh and tasted well. The best thing about the room was the spacious bathroom. The TV was incredibly small, about 28', for the distance to the bed about 5 meters. A shame, because there was definitely not a lack of wall space for a bigger one. The minibar left very little space in the fridge for ourselves, and the prices were a bit irregular with most items costing the same even though they vary greatly (as you can see per the photo) All in all, I am very happy with my stay because of the very kind correspondence regarding moving our booking from Don Giovanni to this hotel instead. For that reason, I recommend them. I truly believe that if you have any issues, it can be resolved easily.

As you can see from other negative 1 star reviews, this hotel does not play fair game and I unfortunately experienced the same. I can only recommend to avoid interaction with this business. I cancelled the planned stay in this hotel 3 days before I still could cancel for free and hotel immediately charged my credit card 112 eur which was weekend stay cost. I started painfull communication with staff, they admitted I was right and money should not be charged a lot of excuses and promises to refund money back. It has already been 1 month and I still did not get my money back although I provided IBAN 3 weeks ago. It seems to me like business practices to charge guests for varoious imaginary fees if you read other reviews. Avoid this hotel, there is plenty of good hotels in Brno. Update: After more than month I got those wrongly debited money from the card back from the hotel.

I can only encourage everyone accommodation in this hotel. Rooms are clean and well equipped. The receptionist was smiling and friendly. Regarding breakfast - wide selection of all you can imagine. Well done.
