Bed was broken, when we told the reception about it they said “ah that sucks” and then offered to solve it with zip locks, obviously not a very good solution to a broken slatted frame (which actually wasn’t a slatted frame but just some planks glued to the frame). The other working bed was the worst bed I ever slept on, the diy slatted frame could be felt through the paper thin mattress. The next day we thus had a terrible back ache. The hostel we were put in was also nothing like the advertised one, it was called hostel francin and was in a completely different building without an elevator. The towels were way too small and also not very clean. There was no curtain, and the towels were not big enough to be utilised as one, even though the window was incredibly small. Making the room very hot since there was also no AC. The floor under the bed was very dusty. Furthermore the doors to the shared toilets could not be locked. Overall would not recommend.

Other than the bed being comfortable and the location being awesome, there are not many positive things I can say about this hostel. First of all, there are two buildings that are associated with Hostel Eleven. The building my friends and I were put in was nothing like the pictures on the website. The door from the street was hard to open, it was loud when it opened and closed, and it was often left slightly open, therefore the security of the place was very questionable. There were no locked drawers in the room, just little safes that everyone in the room had access to. The bathrooms were mostly clean but we did not have a shower, just a bathtub with a telephone showerhead. There was no insulation and the walls were paper-thin so we could hear everything going on above us, below us, and outside. There were also children running around at midnight. The staff were not really helpful and did not offer us towels and when we asked for them we received tiny towels the size of a bath mat. There was the smallest common area that was freezing and had a tiny kitchen but there was nowhere to get comfortable or socialize with people other than in your bedroom. There are also no all-female dorms. In the mixed room my two female friends and I stayed in, they assigned us different bunks so we were supposed to sleep above or below men we didn't know, even though we could have shared at least one bunk bed between us. This place is cheap and so you are really only paying for a squeaky bed and a good location in the city. The only reason I am putting two stars is that the location was ideal and it could have been worse, but it could have been way better.

    - Website said there is a free parking. PARKING DOES NOT EXIST. You can either pay parking garage in the shopping mall (which costs as much as the room for the whole night) or leave car outside of the city centre and then use public transport, which defeats the purpose if the location and is totally unpractical if you need the car early in the morning. - room was right above the garden of a bar, meaning the room was full of CIGARETTE SMOKE and it was very loud until late on the work day. - the thinnest mattresses ever. - no curtains on the windows, full blast sun since 5am - pictures of the rooms available online are probably years old, everything is falling apart a bit. + the one star left is for the guy at the reception, he tried and he was very nice.

We stayed for one night and were assigned to Hostel Francis. At first we couldn’t find the reception as there’s no sign outside the building - we found the place after peeking inside what we thought will be our hostel. Hostel Eleven has perfect place on the map of Brno - just in the center of the Historic Old Town. The staff is super friendly, explains rules very clearly and provides all the information you will need. The hostel itself has very good price-quality ratio. Location is perfect, facilities are clean and accessible. However, note the fact that just outside your window there’s bar which will be occupied for most of the evening and you’ll need to face the noise. Take into the consideration that there’s no hair dryer and also no outlet in the restroom to dry you hair (there’s one in the shower area, but you’ll need to take up the whole room just to dry your hair; no mirrors in the room). Bring your own towel as the one the Hostel provides is very small and might not be enough. Also there’s no towel or paper towel to dry your hands in the toilet area. There’s plenty of bars and restaurant nearby, as well as shops such as Lidl. Even late in the evening we found a place to sit and drink a beer. If you travel by train or bus, and you look for something affordable - this place will be perfect for you!

I haven’t felt this uncomfortable in a very long time. In every room of the hostel it smells like sweat and old feet. A lot of old, scary men we’re staying in my room and made me feel very unsafe. I switched hostels because the atmosphere was completely shady. I do not recommend, especially as a woman traveling on your own.

Central location, nice staff, but... No sleep. Smooth check-in (till 10pm) and checkout (9-11, early check-out possible). Helpful staff. Very convenient location in the old town, Christmas market very very close. Relatively clean. Extremely squeaky beds. LOTS of noise from the street (bars, clubs, drunk people, cobblestone street traffic) till about 4am. The old wooden windows let most of the noise through. Smokers on stairways. No locks on bathroom / toilets. In our case noisy drunken roommate, pretty much no sleep. They state on their Booking description that there is free parking nearby in the description. There is definitely not, you need to park far away or pay.

I liked that the hotel was located in the city center, convenient location near Námēstí svobody My room was not heated, the only thing that saved me was two blankets that warmed me up a little, there was no shampoo or soap in the bathroom. Soundproofing also failed. You could hear the ringing of the town hall every hour.

The property is not safe, at least the ones where no staff member from the hostel is on duty! Someone stole my valuables after accessing the main door, and then the dorm. CCTV footage captured the culprit but Czech Police/Hostel Staff yet to provide further details.

Great location but of course.. the noise was quite bad. I don’t mind it because I have ear plugs but in general the noise outside was a bit ridiculous. But not the hostel’s fault. The location was great.

Very clean rooms, but only good for a night or 2. No communal area, not much sunlight, no real kitchen area, and the roof terrace was closed down. The bunk beds were decent and all had curtains, lights and sockets.

Check in was great and easy. Location was great! However our room did not working wi-fi. And check out was said to be between 8-11am. But we when to the lobby at 8 and then again at 9:15 and it was still not open.

Friendly service, central location, maps of the city lying around. Clean and a nice atmosphere. One star less because the hostel is outside a large street so if you open a window in the room you can hear a lot of noise from people outside. But if you go to sleep a little later it quiets down after 12.

We were calling the reception multiple times, and no one picked up. The girl was nice at the reception. The room was horrible. The beds had tattered sheets, that didn't smell clean. The bathrooms were incredibly dirty. I couldn't bring myself to shower, the floor was muddy. There was not a proper kitchenette as advertised, only a kettle and a sink. Not even a microwave. We found bugs in the room, and one questionable one on the bed. The noise was insufferable, throughout the night due to loud music and conversations that could be heard crystal clear in the room, and from 7 in the morning due to construction. I've stayed in another hostel in brno, and the experience was nowhere near this.

It was absolutely not for living. The building was under construction but they didn't tell us anything about it. Elevator didn't work, bed was extremely uncomfortable (felt every spring from mattress). Shower cabin was not clean. Location was great.

The mattress is uncomfortable when laying or sitting on it, very thin. Also the pillow is uncomfortable. There are no curtains which was so annoying since there are construction happening on the same building, at many points the workers has passed beside my window and can easily see what's inside.

Good location and the rooms are clean. However, the bathroom could be cleaner and it's very noisy because of the bars in the street.

Hostel is OK if you only plan to sleep. However, I would like to point out some issues: The room we got was smelling like someone has been smoking there for days. It was hard for me to sleep, as I am sensitive on such smells. I found cigarettes in front of the window too. I have noticed that the shared bathroom was not cleaned between our checkin and checkout (from 14:00 to next day 08:00). I cannot say bathroom was even clean. Toilets need more attention for sure. Noisewise it was ok for our trip as there were not any clubs playing loud music around (at least on Monday) but I noticed that speech from other rooms can be heard easily. It was same for the street as well, shouts of people can be easily heard. Overall, OK as its a hostel but I cannot suggest staying here more than one day. 2 stars because of location.

Possibly my worst experience at a hostel. The walls are paper thing and the hostel is very loud. So you hear people in other rooms, people outside, and the very loud cleaning lady in the hallway. The rooms do not have blinds so it is very difficult to sleep past the early morning. The beds are lumpy and uncomfortable and the pillows are falling apart. The common areas are small and poorly maintained so there is limited opportunity to meet other travelers. It is the cheapest place in Brno, but there is definitely a reason for that.

Great location, but so what, since there was no parking under the hostel, it's just pathetic. We had to leave the car in some shady neighborhood over 2 km from where we were. The alternative was parking for around CZK 60 per hour. I wish I had checked in advance that there was no parking space, but I wouldn't have figured out that such a basic thing is not guaranteed..

The bed was so bad, it will make so much noise when you move. And €18 per night for bunk bed in Czech Republic, it was a little bit over price.

I got my suitcase stolen in this hostel !!! First of all you have to walk uphill on cobblestone to get there only for the reception to send you to another building. No elevator, wooden spiral stairs impossible to climb with luggage and no wifi ! Someone just took the suitcase i left in the kitchen on the ground floor.

Very nice place to visit Burno👌, unfortunately I stayed only one night at Hostel Eleven very short time to appreciate the room and sharing areas. But I liked the table in the room, the curtains for privacy and locker box (security)❣️. Therefore, It lacked the essentials such as a kettle, glasses for example. Not important for one night but if it's a long stay personally it's disturbing. But I invite you to try yourself 😜

The location is definitely great, but it's Brno, not big of a city so everything is just at the center and so is the hostel, 18 euro a night for a space in a bunk bed. There can be a debate about that but that's up to to you. But on bright side they got hot shower 🚿 😂.

Even though the windows were closed you could be a part of that partying people on the streets, aircondition or ventilators in summer should be obligatory, if windows cannot be opened. There is all night high car traffic outside. I could not sleep, gotta wake up at four am. It's one already and no sleep in sight. I booked it only for that purpose. Plus the whole bed shakes and vibrates with every move of the other one sharing the bunkbed. If you are here to party, thats for you. If you wanna sleep, look for somethingelse.

Okay hostel with a nice location situated in the city center of Brno. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Be aware that the hostel doesn’t have a common area to meet other backpackers.

The hostel is good and cheap, everything was fine. I appreciated the curtains that guarantee privacy in your bed and the desk in the room. Despite that, the WiFi was not working (I asked several guests and they were alla having problems) and the showers were reeeaaally small and uncomfortable. But pretty clean. I would come back!

  • 2/5 Emily K. 1 year ago on Google
The location was stellar, super close to everything and the staff were friendly when checking in and out. However, THERE ARE NO LOCKS IN THE BATHROOMS. This goes for showers and toilets! This was VERY uncomfortable, especially since the bathrooms were mixed. There was NO WIFI in the rooms which was quite frustrating, too. For the price, I would suggest finding a different place to stay.

Some of the rooms are directly above a bar and there’s always very loud noise until very late at night (1-2am). Couldn’t sleep properly at all. The windows also have no curtains so it gets unbearable in the morning
