Interesting astronomical clock with information on how to read time on it. It's quite complicated so easy version is: you look at the astronomical clock and turn your head slightly left and there is a normal clock where you can see the actual time. You are welcome :)

This monument releases a 1 ball a day at 11:00 AM. After days trying to get my marble and speaking to people that already got it, I can give you some clues to how to get it. First of all you have to manage to get a one of the 4 places there are. Usually the last one is occupied by 10:20-10:30 so get there with some anticipation. When it's 11am, you will hear some mechanisms moving inside the structure, promtly a marble will fall in ONE of the 4 spaces. So remember you just have 25% of possibilities it falls to you. If you are lucky and it falls in your place, you have to be delicate. Put your hand where the rail finishes, and be careful you DON'T TOUCH THE RAIL, because if you touch it, the marble will fall inside the structure and no one will get it. Good luck ;)

Astronomical clock and sculpture. Nothing is explained, it would be cool to know how it works, this is from Wikipedia: Time is displayed by turning the highest stone parts. The whole tip rotates around its axis in a minute, and there is a sharp prism on it that serves as a seconds indicator. The top glass part rotates once every hour and serves as a minute hand. The dial numbers rotate once every 12 hours. Every full hour, the machine beeps briefly.

It would be nice if tourists had a chance to get the ball, it's just local homeless folk waiting there for ages before.

Impossible to read clock with an interesting history. It chimes at 11am and people gather to grab a marble as it's released from the clock. In my experience that meant about 5 adults all surrounding the possible ejection holes a few minutes before 11. I'm not sure who got the marble, but everyone seemed disappointed. The locals even seemed to have a small argument.

See the attraction and get your photos but don't plan on spending a decade here. Definetley a cool experience to see while you're in Prague though!

🙈 so at 11 every day the clock gives out some Glas marbles as a tourist gimmick and souvenir… the problem is that already at 10:30 the local … let say nicely… non working community surrounding the clock so as a tourist you can’t get any marbles 🙈🙈🙈

A fun, quirky, but a little useless tourist attraction that doesn’t even look that well in photos l. Definitely a nice idea but well…

The Astronomical Clock of Brno is a popular tourist attraction located in the Old Town Hall building in the city of Brno, Czech Republic. It is one of the oldest astronomical clocks in the world and dates back to the early 15th century. The clock features a range of astronomical and calendar functions, including the position of the sun and moon, the phases of the moon, the equinoxes and solstices, and the zodiac signs. It also includes a unique mechanism for displaying the date of Easter. In addition to its practical functions, the Astronomical Clock is also a work of art and features intricate carvings and decorations. The clock face is surrounded by a series of sculptures that represent various allegorical figures, including the Greek gods of the planets and the signs of the zodiac. Visitors to the Astronomical Clock can watch a short display that takes place every day at 11 am, during which the clock's mechanical figures come to life and perform a brief show. The display features several moving figures, including a rooster, a Turk, and a Czech king. Overall, the Astronomical Clock of Brno is a fascinating historical artifact and a must-see attraction for anyone visiting the city. It showcases the rich history and cultural heritage of the region and offers visitors a glimpse into the fascinating world of medieval astronomy and clockmaking.

A little underwhelming but historical a great story behind the clock. Fun watching kids compete to get the marble at 11am.

I’m not sure that I understand the idea of this monument/clock/installation… it makes an impression of something put out there just to make people come and take a picture, if they do not find anything interesting to do one city centre.

Very cool to learn the history & watch. It is very anticlimactic by the way. There are a bunch of other sites to visit around here as well so it’s easy to walk around.

Cool landmark, but don't wait around to see the show at the top of the hour. It's pretty basic and you'll probably pass by at just the right time without wasting time waiting.

The locals meeting spot! On the square. Precisely at 11 am daily try your chance at capturing a custom ball.

The design commemorates Moravian resistance and is meant to look like a bullet. But it looks like and also called as something else by locals. But anyway, nice place.

Really funny thing, this clock rejects a glass ball everyday from different hole. It was fun to go there and count on getting it. We didnt get it but still there where some emotions and occasion for drinking some beer

Well, compared to Prague, it is sh*t. But haven't it successfully fulfilled the purpose to attract tourists?

The Prague's astronomical clock is much better than this modern construction, but trust me, it's quite worth visiting this modern astronomical clock, it's big and you know how it looks. But don't expect much...

This clock was built partly as a commemorative monument to the legend that led to the lifting of the siege of Brno. Legend has it that the besieging Swedish army intended to lift the siege if they had made no further progress by midday. As a trick, the residents of Brno range the midday bell one hour early. This clock commemorates the event by having a ball roll out at 11am everyday. It apparently also tells the time, which requires considerable instructions from the description. Too complicated if you just want to know the time. The whole thing is too complicated and not much to look at
