Famous Dave's is a popular chain of BBQ restaurants known for their delicious smoked meats and southern-style sides. The North Riverside location is no exception, and I recently had the opportunity to dine there. I had an overall positive experience at Famous Dave's This restaurant has a cozy, rustic atmosphere with plenty of seating options, including booths, tables, and a bar area. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Now, let's move on to the most important part - the food. We started with an order of the Iris' Down Home Fried Chicken Platter , which were absolutely delicious. The chicken was so was tender and juicy, with a slightly sweet and spicy sauce that perfectly complemented the flavors. I also order the St. Louis-style ribs. Both dishes were generous portions and tasted great. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender with a sticky, smoky sauce, and the pulled pork was juicy and flavorful. The sides I chose - the mac and cheese and the cornbread - were also top-notch. The mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy, while the cornbread was moist and slightly sweet. One thing that stood out to me about Famous Dave's was the variety of sauces they offer. They have a sauce for everyone, from mild to extra hot, and each one was unique and delicious. I would recommend Famous Dave's in North Riverside to anyone looking for some tasty BBQ. The food was excellent, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting.

Found this place after 2 years searching for another after my local close in aurora finally have time to come to North riverside in the food is just as good the service is great not disappointed at all still great

Don't know why I don't come more often. The food is delicious, well priced, with practically no wait. I need to pace myself because I may overeat. I am at a good weight now and shouldn't over excert myself. The Pecan pie was the cherry on the top!

We ordered a whole pie, two alcoholic drinks Togo (mamas punch) two pints of chili with fixings on the side. & 18 muffins for a total of $89. Our drive back was 25 mins. We get home to find the burnt muffins are at the bottom being smashed with the weight of the items above it and. And our chilli didn't have any of the toppings. When I called up the manager, he said I could come back and he'd give me toppings and new muffins. (However, Now it's the height of traffic on a Friday), my options are to lose out on the money spent, or spend an hour driving back and forth correcting their mistake. 😞 I ask him if he'll replace the chili too, bc it will be cold when I finally get back home. The manager is arguing with me, that there is nothing wrong with the chilli, so he shouldn't have to replace it. (Not that I should have to explain to the manager that I Don't HAVE a microwave) but we just moved in and gas hasn't been turned on yet. So I literally had no way of warming this food back up. Plus, I shouldn't have to. Burnt food should never leave the kitchen. My order wasn't complicated. It shouldn't cost me another hour of my time. This is why we were ordering out. I plead "I'll bring the chilli back if hell replace them for hot fresh ones that haven't been sitting in the cold", he said "fine if you bring them back I'll give you new ones". When I get back to FDs the manager takes the bag from me with attitude, doesn't check the quality of the food or apologize for the food and yeats it into the trashcan. Few mins later he emerges with the new bag. Says he threw in some extra muffins for my inconvenience. I didn't appreciate the attitude I was receiving for their lackluster performance. I didn't burn the muffins. Imagine if this were the holiday catering. Are people supposed to be prepared to reheat everything? Or just some things? 1. Famous Dave's used to invest in higher quality packaging that would snap in place, it was firm clear plastic, would keep your food warm and was easier to stack on top of one another without smashing food. Although now they've completely cheapened out on their carry out containers for cardboard that doesn't create a seal with a sheet of aluminum foil. They used to have buckets of take out supplies that you'd find easily right by the door. Whatever you needed to make your meal the perfect dish. Sauces, mayo, mustard, utensils and napkins. Now it's kept behind the counter and you have to ask for everything. #Hallow brands replacing quality.

Natalie our server she was very attentive to our needs as well as courteous and very speedy. Our entrees were delivered before the appetizers but it didn't matter every thing was very good. I had the fried chicken with Mac and cheese and corn.The Mrs. ordered brisket and st.louis ribs with Mac and cheese with broccoli. Appetizer was burnt ends and we had the margarita (I don't recommend ordering the strawberry iced tea)

The food was ok. The greens tasted like greens, no seasoning, and the mash potatoes need more seasoning. Overall, the meat was good, and all food items could be hotter as in heat. The server brought the receipt holder that probably had not been sanitation laying on the inside of our to go boxes YUMMY. I asked for more boxes and explained to why. I'll go back a different time to see it's any better.

The food here is amazing and Natalie made the experience even more so! From seating through out the entire meal. I got the daily (Wednesday) $18.99 special. 6 slabs, 2 sides and a muffin! My Sweet Mama Backyard Punch is delicious as well! It’s not too crowded at 3:43pm. The atmosphere is light, bout loud and rowdy at all. And again the customer service from Natalie is amazing! The beans have a tinch of a kick, so be ready! The Mac & cheese Delightful! and I’m here solo DOLO so it is quite a pleasant experience!

My mistake was NOT checking my carry out 2 meat dinner. I just wanted the kind of plate that I would've enjoyed if I dined in the restaurant. My hot link was maybe 4 inches, not spicy and looked as if it was cooked in a microwave. The thick slice of stale bread was awful. Thank goodness for the second meat, devil spit wings. Nearly thirty bucks for a disappointing meal.

Ordered a Bakers Square slice of pie and it came frozen. Why would you send a frozen slice the customer cannot eat. So frozen I could not even cut it. See picture. In response to the owner, I think the whole world will agree that if a customer purchases food it should be ready to eat and not frozen to wait till the next day. I did microwave the slice for 20 seconds and it just went flat with water all over the plate, so that is not the solution. Bakers Square has never served a frozen slice and I’m sure they would agree with me.

Absolute joke worst mgmt i ever saw Our server was serving a party of complete problems. Not once did her mgr step in to help her whether it be taking over the issues w the party who were just vying for free food or taking her tables drink order at the minimum. She was so overwhelmed she charged the wrong bill on our card Her mgr just handed over free deserts to the party who were just looking for that. We had to wait to get seated because an employee couldn’t decide what he wanted as his sides for his meal and was using the POS system by greet and wanted to finish his order 1st An absolute joke. I love Famous Dave's but this Saturday the food was lacking. I had the bucket of rib-tips along with their 1lb of fries and the dry-rub was invisible, also the flavor wasn't there but not only that, it was mostly fat and bone. I ordered the tips 3 weeks ago and fell in love with them, for the reason why I ordered them again. My husband had the sweetwater catfish finger and they were ok to him but not the best he had before. I know the food could've been better prepared, maybe the cook/cooks had an off day...who knows...

Had not been here in a long while. Food came out quick. Ordered the feast. Mashed potatoes where a bit cold and too much garlic. Waitress was super attentive and nice. Came around lunch time on a saturday. Not too busy. A bit expensive from what i remember. Clean bathrooms.

I ordered the ultimate burger online but got a chicken sandwich instead which cost less than what I ordered. I also had to wait a extra 30 minutes which I understand it’s Father’s Day weekend but to still get my order wrong is messed up

The price of take out has increased exponentially over the last few years. In light of that, I would expect restaurants to have some quality control and ensure that what they package up for take out is good quality. I purchased a full slab of ribs (which includes a large end and a small end). Instead, my order included two small ends from two different slabs of ribs. Neither had been recently cooked, but one appeared to be hours old. It was somewhat burnt and dried out. Where is your quality control? I do not believe this horrible order would have been served tableside. It was snuck into a takeout order which you are unlikely to open until you get home. HORRIBLE BEHAVIOR Famous Dave's North Riverside!!!
